We can always count on the ladies of Real Housewives Of Atlanta to keep it 100! And to prove it they celebrated their 100th episode by spilling-all to Andy Cohen. “The Atlanta women are funny! We’re honest and real, and we never bite our tongues,” describes Kim Zolciak of the pride that comes with RHOA.
All of the Housewives – past and present – feel the success of the show and also its magic was that it showcased affluent African-American women. I have to ask, other than Kandi Burruss: Who are these affluent Housewives again? Certainly they’re not referring to SheBySheBroke?! (“A fashion show with no fashions?! How dreadful!”). And then they dish on bad hair (NeNe Leakes is voted the worst), bad fashions (no declarative winner) and worst fight (again, no declarative winner).
I was hoping Sheree and Lisa Wu-Hartwell would be appearing but they didn’t! My favorite part was seeing the ladies’ audition tapes – first of all how freaking different does NeNe look? But how freaking the same is her ego – large and in charge of everything!
Andy shares a sneak peak of all the drama and reveals some surprising things that happened on reunion day. And of course some not so surprising things, like that Luann de Lesseps got into it big time with Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson! “Luann was guns blazing and I have never seen her so fired up,” reveals Andy.
Where there is Brandi Glanville, convoluted drama with a million different stories is always lurking nearby. Most recently there is the constantly changing story about whether or not Brandi was fired (or quit or demoted) from Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.
Last week Brandi said she was offered a part-time role but opted against it in order focus on the zillion other amazing opportunities dropping in her lap like a Chippendales dancer. Now she tells Australia’s NW Magazine in her column “Brandi Snaps” that she was fired!
“This week has been crazy!” Brandibegins. “I talked to Yolanda Foster and Kim Richards. Lisa Vanderpump actually emailed me. She was like the first to email after I got fired, which was very weird. I was shocked, it was very unexpected.”
Yesterday the Real Housewives Of New York taped their reunion. Amid a season of off-the-wall drama, serious friendships ups and downs, major cast changes, and the yet unseen “uncool” utterance, the reunion was sure to be epic. Especially with with 8 Housewives!
The reunion ran all day, beginning in the morning and didn’t wrap until after 9 PM. Andy Cohen had a WWHL taping with Jeff and Jenni scheduled, and raced from the RHONY reunion set, right into the WWHL studio. Talk about pressed for time.
Our favorite reality TV stars cannot get enough of the spotlight during their regularly scheduled time slots, so they take to social media to share even more of their lives with us. And we would not have it any other way. Here’s a roundup of some of our favorite snapshots and selfies from this week. Enjoy.
Big Brother and Marriage Boot Camp star Jordan Lloyd shared, “Just sitting in the audience brings back so many memories in the Big Brother house. It’s always great seeing Julie and everyone else who makes this show happen.”
Full disclosure, I have started this post umpteen times in the last week, and while I’ve known how I wanted to snark on the forthcoming gossip, I have greatly struggled with the introduction. Truth be told, I am still having a hard time ribbing ol’ T-Rav (never thought I’d say that as he makes it so darn easy!). In my heart, the moment I joke about his social media ineptness (and it’s epic) and don’t mention the tragedy, turmoil, and most magnificently, triumph happening in the great city of Charleston, I have done a disservice to the nine beautiful and inspirational lives lost, the families and community forever changed, and the responsibility we each have–we each OWE–to one another to show support and goodness and love.
Dear readers, I know you come here to unplug from the real world for a few minutes on a lunch break or while waiting in carpool line. I live for it, which is why I am so grateful for the opportunity to blog for this wonderful site! We all need to exchange the struggles and monotony of daily life for the drama, craziness, and five-star entertainment that is “reality” television…ironic, isn’t it? 😉 That said, I love it, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. As a sucker for all things Shepstradamus and Cooper Ray, Southern Charm holds a special, ridiculous place in my heart when it comes to recapping. Reading the comments section of any SC post, it’s obvious that so many of you are not just enthralled with the eclectic cast, but you are intrigued and enamored with the beauty of the Holy City. Charleston’s history has always been understandably controversial, but I have been totally transformed over the last few weeks with the realization that it, and we, are learning from our mistakes. Forgive my diatribe, but I couldn’t in good conscience whip up yet another Thomas RavenelFacebook status post without sharing my thoughts on what will continue to weigh heavily on the hearts of so many.
In hands down the worst segue ever…are T-Rav and Kathryn Dennis tying the knot? I’m sorry…I can’t tie my heartstrings to my sense of humor with any sort of appropriate bow!
