Amber Portwood has really turned her life around since being released from prison. Now the Teen Mom OG star can add a new fiancé to that list. Amber recently got engaged to boyfriend Matthew Baier, but was it all just a storyline?
Sources reveal that Amber and Matt staged their engagement for MTV cameras to give Amber a compelling storyline about new love, especially since ex-Gary Shirley has moved on with a new girlfriend, new baby, and new condom line (which he didn’t use in time!).
Even worse – Amber’s relationship is a mess! Matt, 43 (YES! FORTY-THREE!!) met Amber on twitter (YES! ON TWITTER!) this summer and they only met for the first time in “real life” this October. A month after that Matt popped the question!
Above, Amber and Matt, with fellow TMOG stars Tyler and Caitlynn (also engaged).
Is MTV pulling the plug on Kail Lowry, Chelsea Houska, Leah Calvert, and Jenelle as promised? Yeah, NO. “Producers are getting ready for season 6,” a source revealed yesterday. “They are calling the girls to make sure everyone is on board.” Oh please, like any of them would say no to MTV money.
The Teen Mom stars – minus Farrah Abraham – and the Teen Mom 2 stars filmed an “Ask the Moms” special, where the “biggest Teen Mom fans” were given a chance to ask the MTV stars questions. This could be really bad or really good. If nothing else, let’s hope the fans questions were better than Dr. Drew Pinsky‘s predictable, misogynistic questions.
Well, this is a little feel good post, and goodness knows we don't get many of those when it comes to the girls of MTV's Teen Mom franchise. Kaily Lowry Marroquin has certainly been having a great few weeks, as you know. Not only was her memoir released last month, it has already made it to the New York Times Best Seller List.
Pride Over Pity chronicles Kailyn's past struggles, including sexual assaults, drug use, and a stint in a homeless shelter. Now married with two children and in college, Kailyn hopes the book will be an opportunity for her fans to see why she is how she is and learn from her experiences.
There is no denying that the girls of the Teen Mom franchise haven't always had it easy, and in some cases their overnight success made their lives into an even bigger train wreck. Of course, there are a few of the young mothers that are trying to get their lives back on track.
While one of her counterparts has used her fame to catapult herself into the porn industry, Kailyn Lowry is hoping to that teens can learn from her past experiences that she's sharing in her new book Pride Over Pity.
It's Dr. Drewtime… I hope you stretched your eyeballs because they're about to be doing a lot of rolling. And if you're wearing false eyelashes because you want to look just like your favorite Teen Mom 2 star, I suggest you take them off for fear of injury during this reunion.
The set this year is really something – don't you love the giant TM2 letters with glittering lights. Things begin with all four girls on stage. Jenelle Evans has been taking hair tips from Chelsea Houska (but Megan is her terrible hairsome clone!) – same color red, same teased style, other than that she looks very pretty and natural. Dr. Drew asks Jenelle how Jace is. She answers, "Ummmm… who? Oh yeah… ummm… oh he hasn't been paying rent so yeah!"
Chelsea's eyelashes are a travesty. Mind you, this is her profession… Lord help South Dakota.
Last night's episode of Teen Mom 2 temporarily humanized our snarkiness as Leah Calvert learned the realities of Ali's muscular dystrophy.
Kail Lowry heads to an ultrasound appointment sans Javi Marroquin because Jo Rivera won't let her move out of state with Isaac and now she's all allllloneee! Apparently she's been emotionally eating to drown her sorrows because the doctor warns her that gaining a pound and a half per week isn't a good idea. "Lay off the fettuccine alfredo," he instructs.
Everything looks healthy but Kail is waiting until Javi can be there to find out the sex. Kail calls Javi from the car and complains that she's soooo stressed planning a wedding while pregnant. Maybe postpone the wedding until after you've had the baby then? Just a thought – especially since they're already legally married for the benefits and stuff.
Then Kail and Jo have a major custody blowup. Kail is now refusing to bring Isaac to Jo's parents' if he's not home. On their custody exchange day, Kail learns from Jo that he's running late so she calls Javi – in front of Isaac – to whine about what a terrible, negligent parent Jo is. Nice Kail.
