Teen Mom 2 Recap: GEDs, Pumpkin Seeds, And Changing Needs

Lord have mercy! I sometimes think that Teen Mom 2 would be easier to watch if I didn't know what was going on with these girls' lives now. Jenelle Evans seems to be hitting rock bottom this season, but we know it only gets worse. Kailyn Lowry is now engaged even though on the show she's still pining over Jo after duping poor Jordan. Leah Messer is remarried with a third baby on the way (although I do like watching her and Corey try to work through their relationship…it helps me reconcile their divorce as being the best decision for both of them), and Chelsea Houska…well, she's still pretty much what you see is what you get…a lot of whining, feathers, and mascara!

Let's get to last night's episode, shall we? Why does Chelsea need to put on fake eyelashes to take her GED tests? I guess they take some of the focus off of those feathers. Aubree has a meltdown as her mom flies off in a bleached haze. Meanwhile Kailyn is leaving Isaac with Jo and his family so she can go to Texas to reconnect with some family. When she arrives in Austin, her cousin is there to meet her at the airport. Austin is definitely on my bucket list. Kailyn reveals that things are stagnant in Pennsylvania because she screwed herself out of a boyfriend.

While Jenelle is back on her bipolar meds, she is still having mood swings. She hopes that she's able to prove to mom Barbara that she's stable enough to be a positivie part of Jace's life. Jenelle shares with a friend that, like, you know, she thinks she may have moved in with Josh, like, you know, too soon. Um, you think? I mean, she waited a week after dating before taking the plunge! Now she realizes, like, you know, that he's totally immature and thinks everything is funny when it's not. Boys! Jenelle also wants to get back custody of Jace before her mom totally dominates his life. Barbara like wants to like raise him the way she thinks is best, you know? Why yes, it's called having his best interests at heart and not taking off to a Ke$ha concert instead of being a mom.

Teen Mom 2 Recap: Building Blocks

Last time on Teen Mom 2, Leah Messer and Jeremy Calvert made their relationship official. Kailyn Lowry dumped Jordan in favor of getting back togeher with Jo Rivera, while Chelsea Houska agreed to give therapy a try in order to (finally!) get over Adam Lind. Finally, Jenelle Evans managed to avoid jail time after failing a drug test and met a new guy, Josh.

For reasons unknown, MTV decided to air Teen Mom 2 on Christmas Eve and began with Chelsea. Said in my best whiny Chelsea voice… uh-ugh…. Chelsea brings her orange skin, raccoon eyes, bleached-to-death hair, and frosty lips to the nail salon. Luckily, Chelsea and mom Mary have both removed their hair feathers, so there's room in the car for Aubree. Thank goodness for small favors. For a while there, I expected to see the hair feathers listed in the opening credits.

I'm elated Aubree comes to the nail salon. She is adorable and makes Chelsea's scenes bearable. I digress. While Chelsea, Mary, and Aubree get manicures, Chelsea announces that she's dropping out of therapy. She doesn't think she needs to go because the therapist didn't tell her anything she doesn't already know. Chelsea is all like, Everything she told me about boundaries and healthy and unhealthy relationships, I've already heard from every other person in my life. Basically, Chelsea doesn't want one more person – a person with a "dishing out advice" degree to boot – telling her that Ad-dumm is no good for her.

Teen Mom 2′s Kailyn Lowry Reveals New Tattoo; Teen Mom’s Ryan Edwards and Dalis Connell Split, Party With Exes

Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry recently tweeted pictures of her latest tattoo, the beginning of a half-sleeve tattoo, on the inside of her bicep. Ouch!

The tattoo includes a pocket watch, roses, thorns, skulls, and an anchor. When asked about the meaning of the objects, Kail said, “It’s an anchor (for all those who have kept me grounded through my journey with MTV). And the pocket watch reads 10:05, the day I met Javi. The skull is for my past (skeletons in my closet).”

The tattoo reveal didn't come without criticism. Naturally. After a slew of hateful tweets, Kail responded with “I love when people think I want/need their approval to do something" and "Please, tell me more about how trashy my tattoos are & how ugly they will be when I'm 60. You don't HAVE to look at me. #movealongnow."

Teen Mom 2 Recap: Grab The Nearest Guy And Introduce Him To Your Kid!

Last night was a big night for the ladies of Teen Mom 2. Chelsea Houska is taking baby steps to get her life in order, while Jenelle Evans seems to have found an somewhat upstanding guy. Leah Messer moves on with a new love while Kailyn Lowry wants to live in the past. These girls are exhausting!

We begin as Leah and Jeremy make it official after her first motorcycle ride. When he asks about what went wrong with Corey to which she replies, "He did some things, I did some things." Jeremy doesn't care. He couldn't be happier that he sent that Facebook friend request!

Chelsea's friend has encouraged her to see a therapist. Chelsea isn't ready to give up Adam, but she admits to having issues with depression and low self-esteem before Adam ever came along.

Jenelle is passing all of her drug tests, and she's back in school. She has lunch with her mom Barbara, and she admits that she's stopped taking her bi-polar meds. Barbara wants Jenelle to make a doctor's appointment to refill her prescription which Jenelle says she'll do "when she has time." We all know how that turns out, don't we? She admits to her mother that she's going to hang out with a new guy. Barbara thinks that a new skinny kid is exactly what her daughter needs to take her mind off of Kieffer. She praises Jenelle's more responsible attitude and agrees to let her take Jace to Myrtle Beach for the day.

When Jo comes to pick up Isaac, Kailyn is crying over Jordan. He tries to console her by telling her any guy that would stand her up isn't worth the tears. Poor Jo. He can't win for losing.

Teen Mom 2 Recap: New Romances, Fourteenth Chances

Last night's Teen Mom 2 was thankfully less dramatic than normal. It was a refreshing break from the normal yelling and sobbing. Of course there were tears (after all Chelsea Houska is still on the show!), but it wasn't the normal Jenelle Evans drama. Kailyn Lowry ended a relationship while Leah Messer started a new one. Over all, it was a relatively low-key episode.

Jordan is still distrusting of Kailyn when it comes to her spending time with Jo. While I can see his point with her, I don't think he needs to worry about Jo…he seems to be well over Kailyn. The following day at school, Kailyn chats with a friend about their love triangle…and there's that flipping feather in her hair! Her friend wants her to try being single for a while. Kailyn hasn't been single since she was fifteen. She basically admits that she's with Jordan for support.

Jenelle is trying to put her anger towards her mom aside so she can spend time with Jace. His second birthday is coming up, but she can't plan a party because she's too busy lunching with friends and worrying about her parole violation. I'm guessing she's probably smoking a bunch of weed as well. Jenelle has decided that she's going to quit smoking and send her probation officer an apology letter in hopes of avoiding jail time. Her friend Tori promises to quit smoking as well so Jenelle won't have to be drug-free all alone. Sweet!

Teen Mom 2 Recap: In Concert

With each season and every episode, Teen Mom 2 just gets more and more depressing. I honestly don't think that Leah Messer, Kailyn Lowry, or Chelsea Houska are getting any more mature…their kids are just getting older. Notice I didn't even mention Jenelle Evans. Seriously, what's the point anymore with that one?

Leah is finally getting over the divorce despite the fact that she was once in love with Corey Simms…like the day before this scene was filmed. If you can get over it in a day and a half, chances are it wasn't true love. She's ready to focus on getting back into school for nursing.

Jenelle's friend Tori bails her out of jail, and Jenelle is upset that her mother wouldn't do it. I'm more upset that Tori does! I think she begins to regret it when she learns that she'll be responsible for paying $10,000 if Jenelle is a no-show for court. Given Jenelle's track record, Tori could have a very hefty fine on her hands! Both girls lament about how horrible Barbara is for taking care of Jace not springing Jenelle from the clink. Meanwhile, Chelsea is desperate to get out of the house. She's totally stressed out about ~~not~~ studying for her GED and her relationship woes with Adam. Now that he's no longer squatting for free at her apartment, he doesn't really want to talk to her. Not shockingly, her friend isn't that sympathetic, but she does surprise Chelsea with tickets to Deirks Bentley (jealous!) for the night before a practice GED test. This is what most would call a conundrum…but not Chelsea. She like so used to totally cry to Deirks' songs when she was pregnant with Aubree and Adam would treat her like crap.

Teen Mom 2 Recap: Priorities

Every week I get a little more frustrated with these girls of Teen Mom 2. MTV is paying them, and they are learning nothing except how to be more whiny and entitled. I really think the network should incorporate some kind of weekly therapy session for Jenelle Evans, Chelsea Houska, Leah Messer, and Kailyn Lowry to make it a little more relevant and a little less rewarding immaturity and bad behavior. Anyone agree?

Case in point, we begin with Chelsea trying to tame her peroxide weave while lamenting about taking her GED practice test in the following week. She really needs to study, but she has way more important things to do…like plan Aubree's birthday party, attend freeloading Adam Lind's motocross race, and devise a plan to keep her dad from finding out that Adam is squatting on his dime. Priorities, of course. Of course, Chelsea's third priority didn't work out so well because she forgot her dad has a key to her house and decided to take a peek inside when he came to pick up Aubree. She tries to act indignant, like what are you doing in my house? I want him to retort with, um, it's actually my house considering I pay for it, but instead Randy promises her they will discuss the situation later.

Oh wait, Chelsea explains that she pays her own rent, so maybe I would be a tad upset if my dad busted in, but still. She arrives at the race, and it's so pitiful to watch her try to kiss Adam and hold his hand while he totally brushes her off and then walks away. Chelsea acts totally oblivious to his behavior.

Teen Mom 2 Recap: Cry Me A River

Last night's Teen Mom 2 brought tears, tears, and more tears. Leah Messer finds that a reconciliation is not in the cards, while Jenelle Evans continues to screw up her life one failed drug test at a time. Kailyn Lowry can't understand why Jo Rivera is playing her. It's totally different than when she did it to him! Finally, poor Chelsea Houska. I think all that bleach has permanently affected her brain and her judgment. Who am I kidding? I am giving her hair dye far too much credit!

We begin the episode with Leah. She's upset that estranged husband Corey Simms doesn't want to try to salvage their relationship. She only cheated once, so what is the big deal? Their twins are precious, but they are even cuter when they are biting their mom. Leah receives an e-mail from her attorney about a settlement agreement. Also not wanting to reconcile is Jo with his ex Kailyn. Kailyn is sad that Jo has moved on with his own video vixen, but at least her bestie is home from college to keep her company. She tells her friend about her love triangle with Jo and Jordan, as well as her non-existent relationship with her mom. It's been five months since the pair has talked, so Kailyn calls her. After being sent to her mother's voicemail, Kailyn has Isaac leave a giggling message of nonsense before she talks. She doubts she'll get a call in return.

Chelsea is thinking about quitting her job at the tanning bed. I don't think she's thought this through. How is she going to maintain that natural orange glow throughout the winter months? I am also confused as to what kind of headdress she is sporting. Oh wait, that's her actual hair. WTH? Doesn't she want to go to beauty school? Who would let her color their hair after seeing what she does to her own? Chelsea and Adam Lind are hot and heavy again, despite Chelsea's best efforts to take things slow. Bwahahahaha! Adam arrives, and Chelsea begins the requisite baby talk we've all grown to loathe. With her twentieth birthday being the following day, Chelsea requests her gift from Adam. It's a promise ring. He promises not to be as much of a d-bag as in season's past. It's a start. Baby Aubree bursts into tears at her mother's excitement. Smart kid!
