Amen for eye candy! While Dancing with the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy seems like he could be a bit of a diva, he certainly is easy on the eyes. Season eighteen of ABC's dance competition has announced a premiere date, but will Maks be along for the ride?
Right now, executives are remaining mum about what capacity–if any–Makswill be returning to the show, but they will tell us that March 17 is the night that DWTS will be back on your small screens, no doubt with a Bachelor cast off or three!
The former wild child and self-proclaimed meatball was anything but a health nut when starring on the MTV hit. However, after giving birth to her first son, the pint-sized party girl became less about public drunkeness and more about being a good mom, getting fit, and building her brand. Now, Snooki is talking about her weight gain which occurred while competing on the show that is usually known for slimming down it's contestants.
Well, I certainly didn't see this gossip coming! As always on Dancing with the Stars, the producers feel the need to incoporate a Bachelor franchise crossover to make Monday's viewing transition a little more seamless. Of course, this go-round, Sean Lowe is taking a break from planning his wedding to cha-cha for the mirror ball trophy. While the virginal good guy may have won over fans while looking for love, sources are saying he's not making any friends among the other DWTS contestants.
On the flip side, Disney Channel star Zendaya Coleman is proving to be a break-out star in the competition…and not just because of her killer dancing skills. People are falling in love with her bubbly personality. At sixteen, she's the youngest contestant in the show's history, but she's proving that she can dance with the best of them!
Also, now that Julianne Hough is a bona fide movie star, will her brother Derek continue to dance on the show (well, duh…he needs to find girlfriends!) or will he be looking beyond ABC for other career opportunities? Burning questions, people, burning questions!
You have to love what constitutes a star these days…especially in the eyes of ABC execs when they are casting Dancing with the Stars. You can't really blame them though…whenLindsay Lohan turns down the show, it may be time to call it quits.
As always, rumors are swirling about who may foxtrotting across the ballroom. Some of the names being tossed around are more believable than others, and some would be pure television gold if the gossip proves to be true. Likewise, the speculation is often more exciting than the dancing itself. ABC's Bachelorette darling Emily Maynard's name has been thrown into the mix, as well as Here Comes Honey Boo Boo matriarch June Shannon. How amazing would that be?
It's no secret that Dancing with the Stars proVal Chmerkovskiy and General Hospital star Kelly Monaco shared an undeniable chemistry on the Dancing with the Stars dance floor. What has remained a secret, however, is whether or not the All Stars pair have put that chemistry to good use off the dance floor. I hope so, because they are hot, hot, hot together.
Honestly, I find it slightly amusing that Val and Kelly's chemistry continues to be a hot topic. I mean, I've continued to stalk follow them, as I'm a fan of the Chmerkovskiy brothers, but I didn't think many others would be interested this long after the season finale. Nevertheless, speculation surrounding Val and Kelly's relationship status persists, with the latest report claiming that they're now officially an item.
Dancing with the StarsAll Stars was a bore for fans and a disappointment for ABC. And, after seeing a dip in DWTS' viewer numbers (11-16 million for all stars compared to the previous season's 13-18 million), ABC has decided the show has seen its day we want to see less good dancers and more train wrecks. Oh joy!
First, General Hospital star Kelly Monaco and the talented and delicious Valentin Chmerkovskiy danced the paso doble (29.5/30) and a recreation of Dirty Dancing's iconic "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" dance for their freestyle (29.5/30). Kelly and Val's combined score for the night was 59/60.
The Bachelor's Melissa Rycroft and deserves-to-win Tony Dovolani (he put up with Kate Gosselin!) chose the samba (30/30). The pair took a risk for their freestyle, dancing a contemporary dance. It's safe to say the risk was worth it, as Len was left nearly speechless. The breathtaking dance earned the pair another perfect score. Melissa and Tony's combined score for the night was 60/60.
Finally, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson and the master of choreography Derek Hough revisited their we're-above-the-rules quickstep (27/30) and danced a fantastic but gymnastics heavy freestyle that incorporated the "Fierce Five" (30/30). Shawn and Derek's combined score for the night was 57/60.
For the first time in Dancing with the Stars history, three women and their partners go head to head for the trophy… not just any Mirror Ball Trophy… this is the All Stars Trophy! Who wins?
