ABC has just released new details about the upcoming season of The Bachelorette starring Jillian Harris. The biggest change coming this season is that Jillian gets to pick from a pool of 30 men instead of the usual 25!
Jillian will have to eliminate 10 men the first night. The show is now set to premier on May 18th. Below are some details of what is to come this season -
Jillian will be the first person in the history of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” to have 30 suitors to select from. The original group of 25 men quietly seethes as the additional guests get their time with the Bachelorette. One bachelor reveals that he is secretly obsessed with Jillian’s feet, while a wealthy businessman impresses her with his laid-back confidence. In the end, Jillian presents her “first impression” rose to the man who managed to stand out in the crowd of eligible contenders.
Three of the bachelors will get to live in the mansion with Jillian, with the rest living together in an unspectacular bunkhouse down the hill.
In one of the episodes, the bachelors must vote for the man they’d most like to send home – much to one stunned and unhappy bachelor’s dismay.
Jillian will have some of the most romantic and adventurous dates ever with exciting surprises in store for her bachelors as they travel around the globe for intimate dates in California, Hawaii, Canada and Spain.
Jillian takes one lucky man on her ultimate dream date: a private concert by Grammy Award-winner and four-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Martina McBride at the House of Blues in Hollywood.
The Bachelors will be announced soon with one of the 30 men being rumored to be a single dad from Dallas named Tanner. No word yet on how far he makes it.
Singer Jewel has some choice advice for Dancing With The Stars’ Melissa Rycroft. Jewel believes the injured dancer should go home if she is too injured to dance.
Jewel wrote on her husband Ty Murray’sblog - “If you’re too hurt to compete, then you can’t compete.” Jewel continues, “I think the rule about ‘judging a rehearsal if the person is too injured to perform’ was weird both times they have used it.”
The rule states that a contestant who is too injured to compete on the live show will be judged based on their rehearsal footage. It was put into practice when Steve-O hurt his back and on Monday when Melissa suffered a rib injury.
Jewel however does sympathize with Melissa adding, “As bad as I felt for Melissa, who I hope feels better and comes back, I’m used to our cowboy athletes that live by the rule: ‘Ride hurt or don’t get a score. It may seem harsh, but it seems like the only way to keep things honest.”
Defying all odds, The Bachelor’s Jason and Molly continue to their relationship work. The couple rumored to be splitting just weeks ago are apparently still going strong.
An article from OnMilwaukee states that the couple was recently offered a free hotel stay at the Iron Horse Hotel in downtown Milwaukee which is Molly’s hometown, and they accepted. We’ll continue to see if these two can make it work in the long run.
Jason’s ex fiance whom he publicly dumped Melissa Rycroft also continues to go strong with her new beau Tye as we reported last week.

Former Bachelorette star Jen Schefft is currently planning her summer wedding to fellow Chicagoan Joe Waterman. Jen was previously engaged to Andrew Firestone on the third season of the Bachelor. Shewas recently laid off her job and she talks to US about her upcoming wedding and why she doesn’t want to spend a fortune.
“I wanted to be considerate of a price,” Schefft says. “I’m not going to wear a $20,000, or even a $10,000 dress. I just don’t think it’s worth it for one day. She goes on to add, “However, I’d rather save in other areas and get the dress that I really, really want.”
Is the Bachelor curse about to strike again? Seems like it. According to a new report, Jason and Molly are on the verge of breaking up! And the break up could be happening as early as this weekend.
According to a close friend, Molly Malaney, 24, is no longer enamored with Jason – and is considering breaking up with him over Easter weekend, when the two plan to meet up in his home city of Seattle. A Molly and Jason split would bring the Bachelor tally to an incredible 0 – 13! With the Bachelorette TristaSutter being the only one to find success on the show.
The friend goes on to say, “The more she sees Jason, the less she likes him.” Supposedly Molly doesn’t trust Jason after the way he dumped Melissa nationally. Plus she also feels she was his second choice. Only time will tell if this report is actually true.
The Bachelorette alum Trista Sutter and her husband Ryan welcomed their second baby this past Friday.
The couple welcomed a baby girl named Blakesley Grace Sutter in Colorado at 1.23 pm on April 3rd. “She’s healthy. Everything is really good,” an exhausted Trista told Life & Style.
This is the second child for the couple who wed in 2003 after meeting on the ABC’s first season of The Bachelorette the previous year. They are also parents to a son, Maxwell Alston Sutter, a.k.a. Max Sutter who will be two years old in July. Congrats to the new parents.
The Bachelor’s 2nd runner up Jillian Harris is currently filming The Bachelorette and is about halfway through filming. The filming began just 4 weeks after the shocking/infamous “After The Final Rose” episode.
Jillian’s mom Peggy states, “It was a first, what happened with Jason, and I think it will make her more aware. What she learned was to be really careful when choosing. It will put more pressure on her.” The Canadian Bachelorette will have a pool of 25 men to pick from. The Bachelorette is set to premier on ABC next month.
