Albie Manzo

Last night on Real Housewives of New Jersey everyone mostly got along and for a second there I thought I was watching the wrong show until Caroline Manzo popped up to insult her children on national TV. Oh Caroline, cut the cord. And Manzo Spawn – run.

It’s the day of Antonia Gorga‘s sixth birthday party and what’s a mama to do but get her make-up and hair professionally done for a backyard party filled with kindergartners. Do stilettos go with a bouncy castle? Didn’t think so!

While Melissa Gorga is in the make-up chair, Antonia is hard at work assembling gift bags. Who’s the birthday girl again? Melissa is gushing about Antonia’s lavish party – Joey Gorga tells her she’s too expensive. Don’t try to compete with Taylor Armstrong, Melissa. The lip injections are already taking it too far.

Melissa asks Poison about the visit to the therapist. Joey proceeds to tell us that Teresa Giudice must have lied to the doctor about how they had Sunday dinners together and then Teresa tells us the doctor didn’t like them. Then they both blame each other for all the problems in the relationship while claiming they are all about peace, love, and forgiveness. Why do they both do this? It’s ridiculous!

On June 27th Joe Giudice will return to court to finalize negotiations for a possible plea bargain resulting from his 2011 indictment for obtaining a fraudulent license and other associated crimes. Joe negotiated more time to attempt to arrange a deal and previously rejected a plea bargain offered by the state to serve five years in prison with no restrictions on when he would be eligible for parole.

Joe has been hoping to avoid jail time in exchange for an extended probationary period, however Passaic County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Jay Mc Cann has announced that’s simply not an option. According to North Jersey.com, McCann commented that at least “some jail time” must be part of any plea agreement the state accepts as Joe’s charges are “too serious to allow a probation-only sentence.” Well, there you have it – it looks Joe will be headed to prison sometime soon.

Is there ever any upbeat or positive news that comes out from those folks on The Real Housewives of New Jersey? It certainly doesn’t seem like it!

As reported last week, Joe Guidice is facing potential jail time due to all his shady dealings regarding his counterfeit driver’s license. The prosecutor isn’t likely to come to a plea agreement that doesn’t include some time served, and Joe’s attorney warns that all the talk of the incidents on the show are tainting the potential jury pool.

If Joe does go to jail, one can only wonder WWTD? Teresa Guidice already has a strained relationship with brother Joe Gorga and sister-in-law Melissa (to say the least), but jail time for hubby could only add to the gossip and hatefulness that is bringing down the show. Also up against Teresa is Manzo matriarch Caroline, who recently said, “I hold Teresa responsible for a lot of relationships in my life that are hurting. Of course I fight with my brothers and sisters…the difference is, she puts the wood on my family’s fire. I put the lid on hers.”

The last two seasons of Real Housewives of New Jersey fans have watched the Gorgadice family fall apart over what seems like petty arguments, silly competitions, and straight-up jealousy. Viewers have seen sisters-in-law from hell Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga blame each other for the problems and cite jealousy over money, marriage, and fame as the reasons for family discord.

It also seems like Melissa and Joe G-to-the-Orga‘s marriage has been the polar opposite of Teresa and Joe G-to-the-Iudice‘s tumultuous marriage. Well, Reality Tea’s source tells us EXCLUSIVELY that Melissa and Joe’s marriage is all for show – literally – and before Bravo cameras started rolling they had many problems of their own which they now disguise for the the sake of reality television!

Ai ya ya. A Canadian firm has now filed a lawsuit against several Real Housewives of New Jersey cast members, accusing them of stealing the concept used for their bottled-water product, BLACKWATER, in addition to misappropriation of the trademark and breach of contract.

The lawsuit, which was filed yesterday in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, names BLK Brands LLC. (“BLK”) and it owners — Albie Manzo, Chris Manzo, and Chris Laurita as well as Jacqueline Lauria and Louise Wilkie, as defendants.

The suit, filed by Canadian design and marketing company Creative Thinkers, Inc, alleges the Wilkies entered into an agreement with Creative Thinkers to bottle BLACKWATER(TM), a specialty health water infused with a proprietary blend of fulvic and humic acid. However, instead of working with Ivan Solomon (the owner of Creative Thinkers), his partner Gordon Jung, and their corporation, Blackwater Innovations Corp., the Wilkies allegedly stole the idea and trademark and marketed the product with the Manzo-Laurita family.

“One of the core premises of trademark law is the right and ability to protect one’s name against imitations and customer confusion,” said Bobby A. Ghajar, one of the attorneys representing Creative Thinkers. “This case goes to the heart of trademark law.”

In July 2011, Blackwater Innovations Corp. sent a cease and desist letter to BLK after the Wilkies claimed they developed the idea for the product after they witnessed the water heal their sick mother. However, the suit alleges the defendants received confidential information about the Blackwater specialty product in a November 2009 agreement, and agreed to keep information about the health water confidential.

The court documents allege the Manzo-Laurita family inappropriately used their reality TV fame to sell a false story about how the idea for the blackwater drink originated. Creative Thinkers insists that the family stole the idea after attending a food industry trade show. At the trade show, the Manzo-Laurita family allegedly saw the BLACKWATER(TM) product and conspired with the Wilkies to steal the product, marketing and distribution plan.

“We are confident that the evidence will prove that the Manzo-Laurita family and the Wilkies stole the BLACKWATER(TM) specialty concept,” said Mark D. Litvack, one of the attorneys on the case. “The Manzo-Laurita family has wrongfully used its fame to steal another’s idea, and this suit seeks to restore ownership of BLACKWATER(TM) to its true originator.”

Creative Thinkers, Inc. is now seeking to “have its stolen property returned, to recover the monies and good will wrongfully taken from it, and to prevent the defendants from wrongfully profiting from their theft, deception and infringement.”

Blackwater Innovations Corp., Solomon, and Jung have also filed a countersuit responding to claims by BLK that they had infringed the company’s trademark rights. BLK had originally filed their lawsuit as a response to the July 2011 cease and desist letter they received.
