This season of The Bachelorhas been rather dramatic with last night being the most dramatic episode yet. ContestantAli Fedotowsky mulled over the difficult decision of having to pick between her dream guy and her dream job.
The 25-year-old advertising accounts manager — who works for Facebook — decided to quit the show leaving Jake Pavelka “heartbroken.” It seemed Ali wanted some sort of guarantee from Jake that she would be the last woman standing, Jake ofcourse could not give her that assurance, hence she decided to leave.
Jake, 32, will now have to pick between the three remaining contestants: Vienna Girardi, Tenley Molzahn and Gia Allemand. The finale airs Monday, March 1 on ABC.
Fans were shocked to see Ali leave so abruptly, but even more shocked was Jake, who shared his thoughts on his PEOPLE blog today. Excerpts from Jake’s blog below -
“After visiting all the families, I felt really good about where I was in this journey. Then I got back to L.A. and the bottom dropped out. My heart crumbled when she told me her boss demanded her back at work. I didn’t actually think she would leave me. We talked about it for three hours that night while the poor women at the rose ceremony just waited. She actually didn’t have to be back at work for four or five more days but we were leaving the country the next morning, so she had to make a decision. I felt like she wanted me to make the choice for her, but I couldn’t. How could I live with myself if I told her, “No! You are not leaving me now!” and then realize a week or two later that she was not “the one.” I couldn’t make the decision for her. When she told me she was leaving, my heart stopped. I wish I could’ve had Mike Tyson punch me square in the jaw, because it would have felt so much better than what I feeling as I watched AliCat drive away that night.
What could I do? I had to regain my composure and focus on the amazing women I had left; three women that I have fallen in love with.”
TELL US – WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON ALI LEAVING? SHOULD SHE HAVE STAYED?
Jake Pavelka eliminated Corrie, 23, who revealed she was still a virgin, leaving the least liked contestant, Vienna, in the house to battle it out with the other ladies in the final 4. The show’s host Chris Harrison is now speaking out, and tells UsWeekly that the two ladies need to get over their bickering, or they’ll both lose their shot at love with Jake.
“Vienna and Ali are two of Jake’s favorites, and they know that,” says Chris. “The funny thing is, as you’ll see, those two are beating each other up so bad that Tenley is just skating through the door. Tenley is so sweet and maybe she doesn’t outwardly show it, but I think she realizes, ‘Hey, you guys keep fighting amongst yourselves!’”
Chris feels Ali needs to get over the Vienna issue and focus on herself. He adds, “‘Enough with the bickering, enough that the cattiness. If I’m going to do this, I need to be with Jake. If Jake likes [Vienna], then so be it. I can’t judge why she’s here, and I just need to take care of myself.’”
Chris also believes Ali and Vienna are actually quite similar, and finds it ironic they dislike each other so much. “It’s funny because they think, if Jake likes Vienna or if Jake likes Ali, he can’t possibly like me, but in actuality they don’t realize how similar they are because obviously they don’t get to see how they are on a date, so it’s really kind of ironic,” says Chris.
Jake Pavelka shocked a lot of viewers Monday night when he sent home four ladies vying for his heart instead of the three he was required to.
In one episode, he went from having 9 bachelorettes to having his final 5, a first in The Bachelor history. In a new interview with TVGuide, Jake opens up on why he sent 4 women packing, he also discusses Rozlyn Papa and why we can expect the finale to be a shocker.
The latest issue of UsWeekly magazine also claims Rozlyn started her affair with the Bachelor producer Ryan Callahan months before the show actually started filming. Rozlyn has denied this ofcourse. Excerpts from Jake’s interview below -
TVGuide.com: On Monday’s episode, you decide to “clean house.” What prompted that decision? Jake Pavelka: I’m starting to get close with some of the women, and it’s lulling with some of the others. So I don’t know if Chris [Harrison] would let me do it, but I make some odd requests to break up the protocol of the show and break the standard model that they normally like to follow.
TVGuide.com: How much do you let the some of the women’s opinions about other contestants on the show affect your decisions? Jake: The most important thing was me. I want to see things for myself. I know what to watch for. They were telling me these things about Vienna. The problem with that is it’s starting to get so out of control, even women like Ali are starting to get into it. It’s like I’ve got 15 minutes with you. Do you really want to throw all these other girls under the bus when you’re spending time with me? I’m seeing some true colors here.
TVGuide.com: Speaking of Vienna, you looked terrified on your bungee jump date. How much of your input goes into planning the dates? Jake: When we were talking about doing that date, I didn’t have a particular girl in mind. There was some conversation when I heard her say, “I’m so afraid of heights.” I thought, “Uh oh. I know what I’m doing with you.” [Laughs] When the dates get planned, once the girls are cast and everything … I throw some things out there that I’ve done that have really worked out for me in past relationships. Then, they kind of modify it a little bit. So it’s really great getting to be involved. It’s really me.
TVGuide.com: What can you tease for viewers about the end of the season? Jake: I think the ending is probably going to puzzle a lot of people, and I think some others are going to go, “Ok, yeah. If you look back, you could see this.”
TVGuide.com: Have you been following the Rozlyn scandal in recent weeks? Jake: She made some terrible decisions. It happens to everybody. This was just a very public one. I hope that she and the staff member are in love, and I expect an invitation to the wedding because it was really costly for the both of them.
My thoughts on the Bachelor so far – This season has been good thus far especially with the whole Rozlyn affair drama. I do get the feeling though that Jake decided early on that he really liked a few women, and therefore did not give some of the other women a fair chance as evident by him sending home 4 women on Monday night.
The big issue this season that keeps coming up is why do the other women hate Vienna so much? Is it jealousy become she has a strong connection with Jake? or is she really just a crappy person and ABC is giving her a good edit? The whole thing seems a bit bizarre. Even sweet and happy Tenley does not like her. With the exception of her telling Jake she wanted to go last for the one on ones during the group’s date in the recent episode, I haven’t really seen a reason for the other women not to like her. I’m guessing we are not getting the whole picture with the editing.
What I am certain of is that Ali has turned me off a lot with her attitude in the last few episodes. Okay we get it, you don’t like Vienna, but geez do you have to talk about her every chance you get? She really needs to let it go and focus on Jake. Plus the whole if Jake picks her, then I plan on having a talk with him was a bit too much. I mean is she Jake’s mommy? Is she going to scold him? I think Ali’s true colors are starting to show, and pretty they are not.
TELL US -WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE BACHELOR SEASON THUS FAR? WHO DO YOU MAKE OF THE VIENNA DRAMA? AND JAKE SENDING HOME 4 WOMEN?
The 14th season of The Bachelorpremieres on January 4 at 8 PM on ABC, and ABC has now released the photos of the 25 bachelorettes vying for the love of Jake Pavelka.
The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love will begin with the 31-year-old commercial pilot from Dallas, TX arriving at the same Malibu mansion where he first met Jillian Harris, who rejected him duringThe Bachelorette’s fifth season earlier this year. As we reported earlier, Jillian and fiance, Ed Swiderski, will be on hand to assist Jake in picking the right women on the premier episode.
In a new interview with USA Today, Jake promises a very dramatic and rocky season. “I can tell you from the get-go, it is a very rocky and dramatic season,” said Jake. “Some of the things that happened on the show, drama-wise, floored me.”
The question on everyone’s mind is did he find love? But did he find love? “I don’t want to ruin the ending,” he says. But adds, “I stayed true to myself from the very beginning. I went in and said very honestly, if I find love I’ll come out engaged. I didn’t promise a ring at the end of this and stayed true to myself. I didn’t necessarily do what everybody wanted me to.”
Jake, 31, reveals that picking the right woman was a bit tougher than he anticipated, “Half way through the entire journey, I still had no idea whatsoever. It was cast so well for my temperament. I had a lot of romance. My heart went out to multiple women.”
Interestingly, missing from the cast is Brittney Gammel. Brittney is the 25-year-old Learjet pilot from Franklin, TN, who had been cast to be on the show. That is until she prematurely revealed back in October that Jake had been chosen to be the new Bachelor. The problem was ABC had yet to formally make the announcement and was planning to do so 2 weeks later during a DWTS episode.
