American Idol Season 11
The reason? Jermaine, 25, lied to the show about his criminal past. According to TMZ, Jermaine concealed that he has been arrested twice, in addition to the fact that he currently has outstanding warrants.
Show producers reportedly confronted Jermaine on Tuesday afternoon about his criminal past… on camera. One of the incidents involved violence, which was especially troubling to the producers. Even worse, during both of his past arrests, Jermaine lied to the cops by giving them fake names.
Further confirming TMZ’s report, Jermaine himself tweeted his demise from the show yesterday before deleting the tweet. He wrote: “Awww I will no longer b on the show.” His AI twitter account has also been deleted.
Some are wondering if Jermaine’s criminal past is the real reason he’s being kicked off the show, or whether it really has to do with a TMZ report from Tuesday morning which stated Jermaine also fibbed about his relationship with his father.
Jermaine had told AI producers, and pretty much all of America, his father abandoned him, and his mother ten years ago, only to pop up again in his life now that he has the American Idol fame.
Only one problem with Jermaine’s sob story, his dad Kevin Jones, is refusing to go along with it, telling TMZ he’s had a relationship with his son through the years. Kevin reveals he’s been in the audience cheering him on, and even had dinner with him twice last week. Yikes.
TMZ’s report is what led the AI producers to do a little more digging into Jermaine’s past.
Jermaine was among the show’s top 13 finalists after the judges gave him a last-minute spot among the 11th season’s top 13 male semifinalists.
Unfortunately, Jermaine is NOT the first AI contestant to be DQed from the show. Corey Clark was disqualified for concealing his arrest record back in 2003, and let’s not forget Frenchie Davis who was also kicked off the same season due to her previous appearance on an adult website.
TELL US – THOUGHTS ON JERMAINE GETTING KICKED OFF THE SHOW? ARE YOU SHOCKED HE LIED ABOUT HIS FATHER & HAS A CRIMINAL PAST?
American Idol returns January 22!
The popular show released a preview of what’s to come during Game 4 of the World Series letting us know, without question, all of last year’s judges: Steven Tyler, Randy Jackson, and Jennifer Lopez will be returning. Along with debonair host with the most, Ryan Seacrest!
Unlike the cantankerous behavior of former judging panels these judges are the best of friends on camera. “They’re like my brothers and they drive me crazy like brothers, too,” Jennifer described of Steven and Randy. “But we love each other, which is why we’ve become like a family.” Well, as family I wish somebody would talk to Jennifer about her on-set wardrobe! It was a standout last season – and not in a good way.
And since it’s another season without Simon Cowell to be the blunt voice of reason, Jennifer is assuring us this year the judges are “a little tougher on everybody.” Oooohh… good! No more constant praise – we want to see some snark!
Jennifer tells PEOPLE that being too nice wasn’t necessarily the way to go. “Because of last season and the standard that we set, it’s easy to go, ‘Is he as good as even our top 24 from last year?’ ” I guess Jenny has to earn that reported $20M she is getting paid to sit on the judges panel this season.
However, she is positive the talent pool is better than ever with many amazing voices to wow both the judges and the fans alike! “It’s not like you find people just like that, but the ones that we found, we know are very special,” she declared.
