Aviva Drescher

Threading through the mean streets of The Big Apple are apparently a whole different set of streets – tunnels perhaps that burrow under the Upper East Side spreading delusions. It's apparently where Aviva Drescher gets her information and her point of view.

After getting on national TV to essentially slander Carole Radziwill's successful career, Aviva continues to do so in her Bravo blog. And she has a very interesting take on this week's episode of Real Housewives of New York

Last night on Real Housewives of New York the fallout over Aviva Drescher's accusations against Carole Radziwill's writing career continued. I know you readers wish us to be non-biased and blithe, but I can't do that here – I am squarely on Carole's side in this one.

We pick up where left off in another one of Aviva's garishly painted rooms where she and Carole are arguing over whether or not they are psycho or writing their own books. According to Aviva, henceforth known as "Avicious," the "word on the street" is that Carole didn't write hers. 'Word on the street,' like the machinations Aviva creates in her mind while walking down the street? Word on the street is also that Carole's fiction book was a flop in need of serious re-writes. Word on the street is also that it takes a village to write a book. Again, that's only the word on Avicious street.

Carole Radziwill & Aviva Drescher RHONY S6

Despite starting #BookGate Aviva Drescher is now going on record to declare it like the stupidest Real Housewives of New York fight ever. While I quite agree, it's all AVIVA's fault we're even talking about it at all!

In a desperate bid to drum up publicity for her own book, Leggy Blonde, Aviva accused Carole Radziwill of having her famed (and beautifully written) memoir, What Remains ghostwritten. Now she's accusing Carole of over-reacting. Meviva – go home, you're crazy.

"First of all, in the history of all the Real Housewives, everywhere, I officially declare this the STUPIDEST FIGHT EVER. Nothing will change what's on the show, but I'm not going to continue the fight on my blog, on Twitter, or in an MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) cage," Aviva begins in her Bravo blog.

RHONY Recap Bookgate - Carole & Aviva

Last night on Real Housewives of New York, Bookgate was in full-swing. Did Carole Radziwill use a ghostwriter as Aviva Drescher claims? Or maybe Aviva has just been talking to ghosts and getting haunted information?

Aviva invites Carole to lunch to discuss books, which really become a war of the words and over words and who wrote them. Aviva started out as a fangirl who took her obsession a little too far. She's currently boiling Carole's bunny slipper in a pot of water to make pasta. For some reason Aviva has an obsession with Carole eating pasta.

Aviva whips out a pair of glasses and says she SWF'd Carole's look. I think she was making a joke. Carole thinks she was making a threat – to both her sense of style and her livelihood. "Imitation is not the sincerest form of flattery. Flattery is the sincerest form of flattery," Carole corrects. Aviva did not get the memo. For a "writer" she has trouble reading between the lines. Maybe Carole should have used a ghostwriter?

the real housewives of new york season 6

Rumor-mill alert! Rumor that I don't believe for a minute, mind you, but it's still amusing as hell!

Aviva Drescher is clearly this season's pariah. Add that to her totally cuckoo bird personality and you've got a match made for the loony bin. Which is exactly how crazy she seems to be driving her Real Housewives of New York co-stars!

Aviva called in to The Gossip Table where she dished on tonight's drama between herself and Carole Radziwill, both of whom have competing books hitting the market at the same time. She also issued her predictions for how this season is gonna end – and just how exactly her leg flies off in the finale. Apparently Aviva took the leg off herself. Or maybe it just could no longer stand her and made a run for it!

The Real Housewives of New York City - Season 6

Countess LuAnn deLesseps may have been downgraded to a "friend of the housewives" on this season's Real Housewives of New York, but she's certainly coming in to the new season full force! After the premiere, LuAnn is giving her opinion on everything from new girl Kristen Taekman to Aviva Dresher's hot and cold personality. She dishes briefly on Carole Radziwill's writing career and Ramona Singer's "ramotional" behavior. She's actually spot on with all of her observations…it kind of make me wish the Countess was going to be a full time fixture!

She begins her Bravo blog, "Even though I’m not on the first couple of episodes, you’ll see me very soon. This season is exciting with the addition of a new Housewife, new adventures (think roughing it with cowboys), and more of the Housewifely drama that you’ve come to know and love! Since we were last together, my life has gone through some changes, including sending my daughter off to a top art school and watching my son grow into an confident young man as he finishes up high school in the city. I hope you will join me here each week, as I share my insights into everything RHONY."

aviva drescher

So I'm really trying to make sense of Aviva Drescher. Like really. I initially thought she was a breath of fresh air on her first season of Real Housewives of New York. And then her dad arrived…as did her phobias (and no judgment on the phobias…I have my own compound of them). The next thing I knew she was slinging around the phrase "white trash" about Ramona Singer and Sonja "Sexy J" Morgan. While she wasn't quite wrong, I think you'll agree that her delivery fell very short. It was awkward. And awful. It was what reality television should be if you want to cringe a lot.

Imagine my surprise (our collective surprise) when she arrives for her sophomore season kissing more a$$ than I ever thought possible. She hated Ramona. That's fine. Own it! But her constant "you look fabulous, can we try to be friends?" coupled with "your hair is just so white, I love it!" (as a fan of the blonde bleach, let me assure you that white hair is never a compliment unless you're a Golden Girl). Now, Aviva, who does have the luxury of knowing how the season transpires, has decided to play the victim. She's like a gargoyle…and that's not me making that comparison…it's her!  What the—?
