Bachelor

No one ever likes to admit when they're wrong.  It's humbling and very embarrassing…even more so when you're eating crow about the Bachelor franchise.  Until I fell for quirky One F Jef Holm on the Bachelorette finale, I was a tried and true Arie Luyendyk Jr. fan.  In fact, I loved that Emily Maynard chose Jef because that meant that Arie was still on the market.  In addition to reality television, I am also somewhat of a racing fanatic.  Weird, I know.  Since Carl Edwards is married, I hung all of my hopes on Arie.

Alas, those hopes have been dashed…along with my once Pollyanna-esque views that Arie was a happy-go-lucky, love struck dude who enjoyed awkwardly intense make-out sessions.  It turns out my friend (a Sean Lowe fan, go figure) tried to warn me that Arie was just another player, and it seems she was right.  Why else would he be caught sucking face with fame harlot Courtney Robertson less than a week after she was able to shake former fiance Ben Flajnik?  At least she upgraded in the hair department!

Bachelor couple Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney Mesnick are breaking up (oops, habit!) expecting their first baby!

There aren't too many Bachelor success stories to be told, but Jason and Molly are one of the few couples who beat the odds. Sure, Jason initially proposed to Melissa Rycroft. He later had doubts and reunited with Molly. Jason and Molly are happy. Melissa and her husband Tye are happy. So… does it really matter now? Absolutely not.

Jason and Molly faced some extremely harsh criticism following their reunion, yet they managed to remain together. Jason and Molly wed in February 2010. They should write an e-book or something, How to Survive The Bachelor Media S**t Storm For Dummies. I digress. Baby news! “Our family is getting a little bit bigger!” Molly revealed to People magazine. “I’m into my second trimester and I feel really good.”

Courtney Robertson and Ben Flajnik called off their engagement last week. I doubt anyone was truly shocked, as their relationship was doomed from the start. The majority of Bachelor fans never warmed up to Courtney's man-eating ways, and they ridiculed Ben for choosing her. Also, Ben's hair is just icky.

All alone now, Courtney opens up about the demise of their relationship. Courtney tells Wetpaint Entertainment that she's sad but okay. “I’ve been really surprised by all the support and the nice things people have said," Courtney says. "It means a lot to me.”

Courtney adds, “More than anything, I want people to know there wasn’t some huge fight or one specific thing that led to it. There’s really no story to tell other than the fact that it just wasn’t working out.”

Wedding bells will ring soon for Bachelorette couple Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum

Ashley, 27, and J.P., 34, hinted towards a fall wedding over the summer. Now, US Weekly reports that the lovebirds will be married on TV this December.

“The wedding will be big, about 300 people,” a source tells Wetpaint Entertainment. “And yes, ABC will be filming the whole thing. J.P. and Ashley’s contracts were finalized the week before last.”

The next Bachelor is Sean Lowe!

Chris Harrison confirmed the news to SheKnows on the Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet last night. When asked whom Chris would like to see as the next Bachelorperhaps Sean, Chris answered, "Well, a little known secret, he has been chosen."

While Roberto Martinez and Arie Luyendyk Jr. were also considered, all recent signs, rumors, and spoilers pointed towards Sean Lowe as the next Bachelor

I'm crossing my fingers that Bachelorette Emily Maynard and her Prince Charming One F Jef Holm are actually going to make it work.  I mean, if those crazy kids can make, any member of the Bachelor franchise stands a fighting chance, right?  RIGHT?  Next…

The couple is still vehemently denying the rumors that Emily cheated via inappropriate texts.  I'll admit, I am still skeptical about these rumors.  I realize the source is Jef's misguided brother which gives the gossip a ton of credibility, but I just don't seem Emily as a girl who would get her kicks from receiving lurid texts.  Sending, maybe, but receiving?  That's just tacky.  The pair has revamped their denial, switching it up from "we are super duper in love and perfect and only have eyes for each other" to a much more relatable "we're not perfect, but we make it work."  It's a more plausible excuse at least…

Is Sean Lowe the next Bachelor? Well, apparently, he's the only "name" still in the running.

On August 31st, Arie Luyendyk Jr. announced that he is pulling out of the race to be the next Bachelor. Arie tweeted, "The Bachelorette was an amazing experience but I will not continue with the Bachelor. Ultimately I realized my heart is tied to the race track and my career is my main priority. I'm looking forward to getting back on the track."

As you can imagine, Arie's fans went crazy. I may have shed a tear myself. Seriously… the good looks… the kisses… the sense of humor… Arie would be an entertaining Bachelor. Did someone just mumble cough <but he's a player>? Eh, their standards haven't too high in recent years anyway. Case in point – Jake Pavelka and Brad Womack Part 2Arie responded to me his fans on Twitter, "Lots of encouraging remarks. Thank you for all the love, the future looks bright and you will see more of me soon enough. #LoveMyFans."

Just a few days later, on September 4th, Ryan Seacrest disclosed that Roberto Martinez will "definitely not" be the seventeenth Bachelor. The dimples are out too?! There's that tear again.

What else does Ryan have to say?

America’s least successful matchmaking show has spawned another walk down the aisle! Although these two smarties have never tried to meet the love of their life under the glare of reality TV cameras. Oh, no – they found each other BEHIND the reality TV cameras. Two Bachelorette producers tied the knot this weekend with Chris Harrison officiating the ceremony. Awwww…

Cassie Lambert and Pete Scalettar said “I Do!” in Malibu under the guidance of Chris (who probably made sure they gave each other the final rose) and it was a full-on reunion as the guest list was filled with former show contestants.

“It might be a new job for me,” Chris joked with People Magazine. ”They asked me in Prague this season when we were there if I would do it for them. … I love them to death and I’ve seen then grow as a couple and I love them as a couple and as individuals.”
