Basketball Wives L.A.

We won't be seeing Matt Barnes on this season of Basketball Wives: L.A., but it isn't because the he and Gloria Govan are on the outs with one another.  On the first season the couple certainly had their share of highs and lows, eventually calling off their engagement when they couldn't work out their differences.

Isn't it amazing what eight short months can do?  Gloria and Matt have reunited…although she claims to have learned a lot about herself in their time apart.  This time she'll be facing the craziness of the sophomore season without her man.

The ladies of Basketball Wives L.A. are back and more dramatic than ever!  The season starts this Monday, September 10 at 8PM ET on VH1.

Jackie Christie deals with letting her daughter go out on her own, and she's a bit unnerved to find out that her daughter has been in touch with Doug.  Given their interactions, Jackie is still as cray cray as ever.  You've got to love this woman.

Laura Govan is back in Los Angeles from Orlando with her new body and a positive outlook on her relationship.  Her sister Gloria Govan is working on her relationship Matt Barnes after an eight month break-up, and she's creating a cookbook.  The sisters pretend they haven't had much contact in the eight months since filming last wrapped.  Oh VH1, you are so subtle with the scripting!

Draya Michelle and Malaysia Pargo are also back for another season.  Malaysia has spent the interim in Atlanta, and her jewelry line is doing great.  Draya has been modeling up a storm, but she wants to focus solely on her bikini line.  This pair of friends is much more willing to give Jackie another chance than the sisters Govan

TELL US – ARE YOU EXCITED FOR SEASON 2? DO YOU THINK ANY OF THE FIGHTING WILL BE TONED DOWN?

Shaunie O’Neal has turned being an ex-wife (or former girlfriend) of an NBA player into a new career and now that Vanessa Bryant is divorcing the uber famous Kobe Bryant that makes her a prime candidate for a certain VH1 show!

TMZ is reporting that the producers for Basketball Wives LA are hoping to score Vanessa for next season and sources reveal they are putting together an “extremely lucrative pitch for Vanessa,” in the hopes she’ll sell out her dignity for the chance to on-air tussle with the likes of Jackie Christie. According to insiders if Vanessa accepts the offer producers will be casting her in a lead role in the upcoming season!

Apparently, producers would have never asked Vanessa to the join the cast while she was still married to Kobe, but now that she is a free agent, so to speak, the door is wide open for her to stir up some major drama on the already insane show.

Rumors of Vanessa’s rather interesting behavior have been circulating the net for years and I’m sure many of the basketball wives have had first-hand experience with the controversial Vanessa! “Vanessa has more than enough storyline and would bring the show to another level,” a source explains.

Especially considering the details of why Vanessa’s marriage to Kobe ended! Many believe Kobe’s affair with Kim Kardashian‘s close friend, Carla DiBello was the final straw that pushed Vanessa to file!

Another reason producers have waited so long to approach Vanessa is budget constraints. Before the show was a breakout hit for Vh1 the budget was very tight —  which necessitated they hire desperate famewhores (ahem… Evelyn Lozada) and wives or girlfriends of less famous players. Now that the show is a hit, attracting a huge audience and branching out into different cities, they can attract women associated with big-name players!

Speaking of budget, Vanessa isn’t going to be counting her pennies anytime soon. New details of her divorce settlement are being leaked and I have to say she is taking the Ivana Trump route: “Don’t get mad, get everything!”

Vanessa is apparently scoring not one, not two, but THREE Newport Beach mansions in the divorce as well as an estimated $75 Million dollars — which is about half of their total assets. Remember, Vanessa and Kobe married when his career was just taking off and allegedly they do not have a pre-nup!

Sources close to the proceedings told TMZ the property settlement agreement has been signed and is official. Vanessa will retain control of the mansion the couple was living in prior to filing for divorce, the estate her mother is living in and the new estate the couple has been renovating for the past two years and has just been completed. No word on Kobe’s new digs!

If this true, Vanessa would definitely be a HUGE score for Basketball Wives L.A.!
