The hot-tempered Evelyn spoke with Radar Online about the bottle smashing incident. She’s regretful…to a point.
“I do regret throwing the bottle, Shaunie (O’Neal) was there, and her or one of my castmates could have been hurt. Things went too far and I will definitely apologize for that. I would have felt bad if Kenya had been hurt, she’s a mom with two children, so God forbid if she’d have been hurt, and I could have gone to jail! My anger got the best of me with that.”
Evelyn feels that Kenya Bell was busy trying to stir up drama to keep her place on the show. “There were a lot of things going on while the cameras were off as well as on. She was always stirring the pot behind the scenes and saying things to producers to be relevant on the show.” Um, isn’t that what they ALL do?
Evelyn accuses Kenya of not being real. “It is hard for me to respect you when you are coming in and not being yourself. Her personality changes with whichever cast member she is with at the time filming.”
Things haven’t gotten any better between the two. “It is a strange relationship there, I don’t say friendship because we’re not friends.”
She says of the season finale: “I think people will be surprised who remains friends at the end of the season, there are definitely a few shocks. There are people who you think are solid and who are no longer friends, there are definitely friendships that don’t last, aside from mine with Jennifer.”
How does anyone stay friends with a hot head like that? I don’t find fearing for my safety an endearing quality in a BFF—you? They all need an anger management intervention!
The above photo is Evelyn at Millions of Milkshakes, whipping up her very own treat. Hopefully, she didn’t launch it at anyone. At least it would’ve been less painful than a wine bottle—am I right?
DO YOU THINK EVELYN STAGED THE BOTTLE INCIDENT TO GUARANTEE HERSELF A PLACE IN THE REALITY STAR SHOCKING MOMENTS HALL OF

It’s time to untangle the mess that is going on at Basketball Wives. It’s time to call in Colin Powell, because this kind of mess needs some kind of professional mediation. How else can you explain a grown woman like Evelyn Lozada throwing bottles (okay, just one bottle but that’s one too many) around? Naturally, all the women had to put their two (or three or four of five) cents into the issue. Let’s dig in and see if we can explain what is going on here.
“I said it last week and I was right. Instead of expressing how WRONG Evelyn was for throwing a bottle and a plate at someone’s head for a “word” there was a lot of laughing. Even more so, they condoned her actions. I’m confused…how are you speaking about someone else being crazy (although I think Kenya has a “side”) when you are always the one picking up glasses, bottles, plates, jumping across tables, etc. Pot MEET Kettle. Tami and Shaunie, you both knew Evelyn was wrong so rather than saying “Evelyn you would’ve killed that girl,” hence hyping Evelyn up, it should’ve been “You were dead ass wrong and you need to learn how to curb your anger and deal with things differently.” I love you Tami and I know you are upset with me, but at this point I don’t think you understand the fact I AM a real friend to you. No way would I let you react the way Evelyn has in my presence, nor would I condone it.”
People throwing plates around is always hilarious. It’s pure comedy. The next big incident is the backlash Royce received for, uh, not throwing a plate at Jennifer when they realized Jennifer had been talking trash about her online a million years ago. Royce says that she and Jen are now “cool,” but not friends; which is kind of like loving someone, but not being in love with them. She says she’s open to being friends with Jennifer, because she’s “not naive but also not evil.” Can anyone on BBW really not be evil?
And then, video gate! Kenya Bell showed off her new video, and Royce stands behind her artistic critique. “Like I said it wasn’t THAT BAD but speaking on the genre I know about, the dancing needed/needs to be done over. Kenya CAN SING. Kenya CAN NOT DANCE.”
Also weighing in on Kenya’s video, is Tami Roman, in her own blog, letting Kenya know “she can really sing” and that “she’s seen worse.” How sweet of Tami to take time off from cackling with another wife and give someone a compliment. She also lets Kenya know how she feels about the hazing she’s received since joining the cast:
“I’ll keep it real with you, when I came into this situation, I was tore back. I had gotten to a point in my life where I didn’t care anymore, but as I became more involved in the show, I returned to the Tami I had always been before my downfall, my marriage and The Real World. I never try to be anyone else except myself. I want you to continue to be Kenya Bell-find yourself and make YOU better. I do respect you as a woman out here grinding and truly hope the best for you.”
Tami also added in her thoughts on Royce and Jennifer “making up,” but she just re-affirms what Royce said about the two not being real friends: “This relationship is forced, at best. There will be no hanging together outside of the show; no texts, no phone conversations, and no real steps towards friendship and thus…they really didn’t need to make up.” When you’re on a show where bottles are thrown, you kinda need to call a truce if necessary. But that’s just me.

Oh good gracious! Just when you think you’ve heard it all, one of the Basketball “Wives” gets accused of something even more random and off-the-wall than the last one! Case in point? Everyone’s favorite cuckoo for Coco-Puffs, Kenya Bell!
As you know, she in in the process of divorcing her husband, Charlie Bell, a former NBA star who now plays basketball in Italy. Apparently, Mr. Bell is tired of his wife claiming that he leads an extravagant lifestyle while she struggles to provide for the couple’s children. He is firing back, alleging that it’s Kenya, not him, who is completely careless with cash. TMZ is reporting that Charlie recently filed documents which cite her spending habits. They are as follows:
–$82,000 on a Corvette, which she drove for 3 weeks — then resold it for $61,000
— $12,000 on a motorcycle
— $20,000 on criminal attorneys
— $150,000 on “miscellaneous expenses to get even with Mr. Bell”
— $3,000 on her brother’s electric bill
— $9,000 on luggage and shoes
— and $110,000 on plastic surgeries and expenses in L.A. for the plastic surgery trips
That is a heck of a lot of plastic surgery, my friends! It seems Kenya on her own is giving the entire cast of RHOC a run for their botoxed and bosomy money! Charlie reportedly gave his estranged wife $200,000 before leaving for Italy, and he is asking the court to deny her petition for more support. Of course, divorce is expensive.
Also expensive? Weddings! But hopefully some of the costs can be tempered by a paycheck and sponsors if you’re willing to have the whole planning process and event filmed for a reality show. I’m talking to you, Ev and Ocho! Evelyn Lozada and Chad Ochocinco recently spoke with Sister2Sister about their bond, potentially outrageous wedding day details, and those pesky rumors of an open relationship.
Evelyn wants to get that gossip out of the way stat. She begins, “We don’t have an open relationship. What I was saying in that conversation is that until you live my lifestyle in my circle you don’t really understand what goes on. I’m going to honor my marriage ‘til death, but who’s to say what’s going to happen 20 years from now? I don’t know that. There are so many things thrown at the both of us.”
“How do I know? I’m human,” she continues. “How do I know one day I’m not going to f_ck up? I’m not perfect, and we live this lifestyle and things get thrown at you all the time, and I’m not going into the marriage thinking we’re just going to be perfect. That was the whole point of that.”
Well that answers that! Ev and Ocho just so happen to enjoy uncomfortable deep talks. I can appreciate that.
“We always have controversial conversations like that, and real, and I think that people were taken aback, but that’s how me and my dude talk,” Evelyn admits. “That’s how we have conversations. It’s real. We have these types of discussions and they’re very controversial.”
She also touches on a non-traditional approach to the ceremony the couple is considering. Chad, it seems, wants to be the one who walks down the aisle while Evelyn waits at the altar. I wonder what the protocol is for that…does the congregation still stand?
Evelyn reveals, “I’ve honestly been giving it some thought.” She states, “I don’t want my wedding to be your typical wedding. At the same time, that’s really not something I’m willing to give up. I think he’s a big personality, and I feel like Chad wants—we all want —our moment.”
She’s willing to compromise, saying, “I’m having my wedding planner figure out something for him, so he can have his entrance and his moment.”
Chad explains himself, telling the site, “I do everything odd. I think it’d be refreshing to do something different to have her wait at the altar for me ‘cause everyone else’s marriage failed doing it the traditional way.” The man makes a valid point. Of course, this is the same man hopes for penguins and lions to be a part of the ceremony.

Oh, Basketball Wives. You ladies can never keep it together; one minute you’re friends and the next minute, you’re fighting about who talks the most crap. In the latest cast-wide nemesis, Royce Reed is calling out Kenya Bell for being a delusional drama-starter who needs to be quiet.
“I truly believe she believes her own lies, or at this point she has me fooled also…AT THIS POINT,” Royce says of Kenya in her Basketball Wives Recap. “I think she was a little shocked I called her out on her little gigglefest when she clearly stated in the last episode to Kesha [Nichols] that ‘I don’t hold grudges and we’re cool now.'”
“Come on Kenya, please remember everything is filmed. You can’t change up your stories and then expect people to never find out the truth. Just doesn’t work that way, especially when it’s a REALITY SHOW and cameras are involved,” she reminds her castmate.
“As far as me not knowing or being able to REALLY understand who Kesha is…well, I’m still confused as to who you are, especially now. I filmed with you and now watching things play back, I’m a little bit in awe to say the least.”
And Royce continues to offer Kenya some advice about dealing with her co-stars! “Kenya Kenya Kenya. This episode was NOT a good look for you,” she advises.
“I don’t like my name being brought up in situations I have absolutely NOTHING to do with. You spoke the words, own them!”
Royce is furious that Kenya is dragging her into a confrontation, that has absolutely nothing to do with her. And Royce being Royce, she’s not about to play nice and let things go. “You LIED A LOT!” I wasn’t there for your confrontation but as I’m starting to see things play out, I can’t feel any type of sympathy for you.”
“You attempted to throw ME under the bus for a conversation we didn’t even have. How did my name come out of your mouth when 1. I’m not there, and 2. I never said that Evelyn [Lozada] was loose to you or any other negative statement concerning her sex life.”
Rightfully, she tells Kenya that she embarrassed herself by ripping off her shoes and getting ready for a fight. “What are you taking your shoes off for if you’re RIGHT?! People tend to get loud and physical when they know they’re wrong and can’t figure out a different way to react.”
Moving on, Kenya is not backing down from any fights. In a scathing interview with Juicy Magazine, she rips her new co-stars to shreds! And ironically, Royce was spared.
Kenya starts out with poor ol’ Kesha. “She’s [Kesha] very country & I’ve heard she’s broke, so she needs to stop acting like that $8000 for the club wasn’t alot for her when I personally know it was.”
And she also warns that she is “soooo sick of Suzie [Ketcham] at this point,” and she straight up threatens her! “She needs to watch out for my ass at the reunion show.” Although, who isn’t sick of Suzie at this point?
As for Evelyn, Kenya has no kind words, but she is concerned about her mental health. “I obviously like Jen [Williams] more than Evelyn,” Kenya reveals. “EVELYN obviously has a lot of problems right now.”
“To me, she’s very up and down. One second she’s crying, the next she’s screaming, and then she’s jumping across tables. Obviously there’s something in her life she’s not happy about. For me, to throw a bottle at someone for calling you loose is ridiculous. If that’s the case you’re gonna fight half the world, because I couldn’t have been the only person to say that.”
And finally, Kenya is still furious over the ladies’ reaction to her speech. Poor Kenya. “How the hell do you laugh at someone who is giving a thank you speech? WTF is wrong with that?;” she fumes. “Damn….can I say thank you to Shaunie [O’Neal] for giving me the opportunity to present my music and my talents on the show? Damn!”
And there you have it, Kenya in her own words. Where do they find these people?
THOUGHTS ON ROYCE’S RECAP – IS SHE RIGHT ABOUT KENYA? IS KENYA OUT OF CONTROL OR DOES SHE HAVE A POINT?
Something tells me Jennifer Williams and Evelyn Lozada are going to be milking this ‘our friendship is over’ feud for all it’s worth. In round infinity of the drama that these two ladies refuse to handle in private, the Basketball Wives stars are taking to their VH1 blogs to slam each other once again.
To start us off, Jennifer quotes the legendary Whitney Houston: “I finally faced the fact that it isn’t a crime not having friends. Being alone means you have fewer problems.” And that is exactly how she feels after dealing with Evelyn’s nonsense!
Just to recap Evelyn got mad at Jenn over a blog her publicist wrote which said Evelyn should speak to her directly if they have issues (because writing a blog is just like picking up the phone, Jenn?) and confronting the accusations that Jenn is jealous of Evelyn’s
fauxlationship engagement with Chad Ochocinco Johnson. Apparently, those little comments were the catalyst for all the drama we’ve been hearing about since this summer!
Jennifer claims she didn’t have time to write her own blog–or check her publicist’s work–because she was on vacation in Italy. Aaaahhh… lifestyles of the credit card indebted and D-List famous! “I honestly didn’t think she wrote anything awful or harmful,” she explains. “It stated my opinion and I feel I‘m allowed to have one. Take a look for yourself. Was this statement really worth all the drama?”
“What I really have a hard time understanding is that this blog came out July 19th, 2011 and the first time I heard about Evelyn being mad was in November 2011,” Jenn seethes in her VH1 missive. “When we filmed the reunion in July the blog was out and she didn’t mention it then. It is just absurd to me that we are fighting over something so simple in my eyes but I guess not in hers. So be it!”
Fast forward to this week’s season premiere, which featured a whole lotta she-said/she-said drama between the two, and culminated with some enemy lines being drawn! “Tonight the world witnessed for themselves the type of evil I am dealing with,” Jenn said of the season premiere episode. “These words pretty much sum up the state of affairs,” Jenn asserts and reminds us of what Evelyn said to her: “You’re not my friend, you’re my enemy.”
“It was at this very moment that I realized there would be no resolution. No matter what I would do, Evelyn already had it in her mind that I was her enemy. And there you have it…,” she concludes. She maintains that she never thought their friendship would totally end, and even if they did not remain friends, she had no interest in being enemies.
And now it’s Evelyn’s turn! Evelyn starts out by titling her blog: “Take Your Crocodile Tears And Go Talk To Your Publicist,” so we know right from the get-go she’s not taking any of this lying down.
First she reminds us that her fight with Royce Reed was purely and totally in response to her loyalty to Jenn and had nothing to do with her own desire to get some attention and air time.
Then she launches into the trouble with Jenn. “Jenn knew what I was upset about and has known for a while. The actual discussion during the last scene of the show was actually longer, but due to editing was shortened,” Evelyn reveals.
And Evelyn is exonerating herself from evil, just like Jenn is. “Prior to the radio interview, blogs or any interviews that Jenn has done I never betrayed or had a conversation about her relationship with Eric. I am usually the first person the media will approach for a comment on Jen’s relationship because at the time, I was the closest to her.”
“Have you EVER known me to comment on her relationship or personal life via any media outlet?,” Evelyn asks. “Of course not because I am LOYAL.”
Evelyn maintains that her issues with Jenn stem mainly from her former friend’s dismissive attitude towards her engagement, which Evelyn feels is a reflection of Jen’s jealousy over her happiness. “Her comment tonight, “I can F*** whoever I want to F***, I’m not marrying no damn athlete!” was again, very hurtful. Basically she is still dissing my relationship and my fiancé,” Evelyn says. “What type of so-called friend would have the audacity to do that?”
“And why would she contradict herself?,” Evelyn wants to know.”Didn’t you just say on the show ‘I can f*** whoever I want to F***, I’m not marrying no damn athlete!’ I don’t get it!”
Then taking it to the next level–the always classy one–Evelyn accuses Jenn of hooking up with athletes in secret! “Whether you are having sex with, marrying, dating or not you are still sleeping with athletes and my man happens to be an athlete! DUH! That would be the same type of person!” Oh, these ladies!
“And what is so crazy is that Jenn was OUT having ‘relations’ with athletes and trying to play the innocent role on the show. Last season Jen was dating, however, she acted as though she wasn’t to viewers. At least, I give our viewers ALL of me; I don’t lie to any of you guys regarding my personal life, friendships, etc,” Evelyn fumes.
I personally think at least Jenn is keeping it somewhat classy and reserving the mudslinging for some less personal attacks. I am dead sure she has some serious dirt on Evelyn’s antics that she could start throwing to the media. And if Jenn wants to hook up with athletes as a single woman and not tell the public, who cares? So long as it’s not Evelyn’s fiancé, she shouldn’t worry about it!
Evelyn insists her anger is directly related to Jenn’s comments about Chad. “We have been friends for twelve years and at the end of the day, talking smack about my fiancé is OFF LIMITS,” Evelyn advises. “The comments that Jen carelessly made about my relationship is an issue and she was not being a real friend.”
“Once Chad proposed, do you realize that Jen NEVER congratulated me…she didn’t say anything positive, never took time out to meet Chad…nothing,” Evelyn adds. “All of the crocodile tears is for show, it’s fake…she did this to herself. Jenn showed me her true colors and I am done with her.” Evelyn is also disappointed Jenn didn’t throw her a bridal shower.
Evelyn concludes by saying she is very hurt by Jenn’s attitude. “I thought she was a true friend, I was loyal and I seriously thought she would have been happy for me. We were friends for twelve years and regardless she has judged Chad and me. Meanwhile, she is doing the same thing.”
Well, that’s that! I’m thinking these two are done. The fat lady has sung and the tears have been cried, sadly we’re still going to have to hear about the drama for the next few moths! I’m going to console myself by placing bets on who flings a drink first – Jenn or Evelyn?
WHO DO YOU BLAME FOR THE FRIENDSHIP ENDING: JENN, EVELYN, OR BASKETBALL WIVES FAME? ARE YOU TIRED OF THIS TOPIC ALREADY? WHO DO YOU THINK WILL THROW A DRINK FIRST: EVELYN OR JENN?
To kick things off right, the ladies are out and about letting everyone know this is definitely a season you don’t want to miss; oh, and all the drama – so not their fault! Discussing this season, Evelyn is once again explaining how things work from her perspective – and interestingly she blames, of all things, Twitter for a lot of the fighting!
Evelyn believes if people just kept their every passing comment to themselves, less people would get hurt. I’m just gonna let this one sink in, being that Evelyn has been called out for her Twitterants on more than one occasion.
“Twitter plays a huge part on ‘Basketball Wives’ because sometimes we may get to Twitter to vent, which is probably not the greatest thing to do,” Evelyn tells Sister2Sister. “I think we all are guilty of probably doing that at some point.”
“Usually it starts up arguments when we’re filming,” she explains.”You’re forced to address certain issues and things that are going on. That’s why, at the reunions, it’s always heated and there’s always arguments because that’s basically when you lay everything on the table.”
Jen agrees that Twitter is certainly the catalyst for a lot of issues. “Twitter seems to cause a lot problems on ‘Basketball Wives,’ so it would be interesting if we didn’t have Twitter to see how that would go,” Jennifer acknowledges.
“There would be a lot less problems,” she admits, especially Tweets of the passive-aggressive nature which then get the followers and fans involved. “It can get little messy, and by the time the reunion rolls around, a lot of stuff has been said on Twitter.”
Evelyn also reveals that the reunions are the most stressful part of the season! “On the reunion there was obvious tension between me and Jennifer,” Evelyn says – particularly because she believed everything was fine with Jen. “I felt tension from her at the reunion and after we wrapped the reunion, she left and didn’t say goodbye to anyone.” And that was pretty much the end of their friendship! Yikes. Yet another example of how reality television and friendship simply don’t mix!
Moving on, Tami Roman doesn’t blame Twitter or anyone else for her issues and when it comes to taking sides, she is squarely on Team Tami. “I kind of mind my business unless it pertains to me,” Tami told VH1’s Big Morning Buzz.
Especially when it comes to Jen and Evelyn! “So I like them both and I’m still friends with them both even though they’re in the middle of conflict,” Tami added.
Tami also let new girls Kenya Bell and Kesha Nichols know they better tow the line! “This is how I operate, let’s try to stay in this format and you’ll be fine,” she told them upon meeting them, mentioning that she still has to get to know them a little better.
And finally, below is a sneak peak of tonight’s premiere episode! All the ladies are in NYC to kick of the season, but they certainly didn’t leave any of the drama behind in Miami!
In the preview, Evelyn is planning her wedding and only her most loyal friends are invited! So I guess that means the cast is off the guest list? Jen also talks about dealing with divorce and the break up with Evelyn – she seems so sad. The video is below! Just a warning: Evelyn’s eyeshadow is horrific!

Basketball Wives hasn’t premiered yet, but the drama preceding the show has been happening for months! In the latest, the much maligned Royce Reed talks the upcoming season, the arguments, and her opinion of creator and producer Shaunie O’Neal! Oh, and in case your wondering if Royce has any interest in joining the popular crowd – rest assured; she doesn’t!
Royce warns that this season viewers will see a decidedly less dramatic side of her as she stays out of the pettiness and the chaos. “Sorry to bust your bubble, but I’m not really in a lot of the drama,” she tells Sister2Sister. We will see her focusing on her outside projects, though. “I’m really out there just trying to do my own thing career-wise,” she explains. “I have a career outside of on this show.”
As for conflicts, Royce says there are none with the new editions to the cast, Kesha Nichols and Kenya Bell, who she says are definitely getting along a lot better than season one non-factor Meeka Claxton!
“[Meeka] wanted to be cool with certain people that did not want to be cool with her and she pretty much got stabbed in the back like 10, 20, 30 times,” Royce reveals. “I tried to tell her. Tami [Roman] tried to tell her, and it was like in one ear and like the other. You see where she is now … I don’t have an issue with Meeka at all. We’ve actually talked. She’s apologized.” Royce adds that Meeka has since admitted she formed opinions on the ladies before actually getting to know them.
One person Royce hasn’t mended fences with is Shaunie, but don’t expect confrontations between the two. “I don’t film with her. We don’t like each other. I don’t know what her issue is with me. … She was making up lies about me that wasn’t true,” Royce insists.
Denying rumors that Shaunie acts as the puppeteer amongst the ladies, Royce is adamant that isn’t true. “She doesn’t pimp me, and I’m pretty sure y’all see she doesn’t pimp me. My thing is, she does not own the show.”
“She doesn’t make me do anything, say anything … Yeah, it brings in a check, but I refuse to sell my soul for a check,” Royce asserts. Despite some of her mistakes from last season, Royce stands by them and insists she makes her own decisions on the show. “Everybody makes mistakes, it’s just ours is in front of the world.”
Speaking of mistakes and drama, another person Royce will be ignoring this season is resident mean girl, Evelyn Lozada! Darn – who will Evelyn be flinging drinks at then? Oh, nevermind… she’ll find someone!
Speaking of Evelyn, she is denying recent rumors that her abs were drawn on for her recent Maxim photoshoot. “People thought my abs were sprayed on but they weren’t. They are all real!,” she insists to TooFab, while promoting her upcoming book, The Wives Association: The Inner Circle.
Does Evelyn really expect people to believe she wrote a book?
Evelyn adds that the shoot was an “amazing experience” even though it was freezing. Is that why she looks upset in every shot? Oh, and she also wants you to buy her new make-up, E by Evelyn Lozada, which comes out this month. I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot of it on the upcoming season. A photo of Evelyn’s Maxim shoot is below!
