Bethenny Frankel

Watch What Happens Live - Season 12

Sonja Morgan is so happy that her life is wonderful and therefore she doesn’t have to resort to trash-talking her friends behind their backs. And since Sonja thinks everything is hunky-dory, so should we!

Beginning with the scene at Ramona Singer‘s birthday party, Sonja was disappointed to see her fellow Real Housewives Of New York stars badmouthing her (and her businesses and her mental health) behind her back. After all, even though Bethenny Frankel has been visiting a therapist since the dawn of civilization to deal with her not anger anger, she’s no doctor and neither is anyone else!

Sonja begins by complaining that was nice to Heather Thomson even though Heather was “talking badly about my business behind my back,” but it is Carole Radziwill that she’s truly upset by. “What was with Heather’s BFF Carole knocking my consultations with a psychopharmacologist? Carole isn’t a doctor, and I don’t know why she thinks that she knows what’s in the best medical interest for me.” Yeah – we’re talking about a woman who willingly ingested testosterone for an “experiment.”

Ramona Singer Goes A'Courting

She knows she’s a piece of work, but now she’s a…Zen Buddhist? In Ramona’s Singer’s Bravo blog this week, she keeps her thoughts short, sweet, and to the point (just like her insults). Reflecting on this past week’s episode of the Real Housewives of New York, Ramona concludes that she is blessed to be surrounded by good friends and family during this trying time in her life. She also expresses empathy with Bethenny Frankel’s struggle to reconcile the demons of her past with her present life.

Ramona begins by reflecting on the ladies’ trip to Atlantic City and her birthday bash with the menopause mamas of the Upper East Side. “It was great to go on a trip to Atlantic City with all the girls to celebrate my birthday. What was more important to me was to celebrate over a lunch with my 30 girlfriends of 20 years,” she says, adding, “My girlfriends who came to the luncheon have been so supportive of me over the past two years in this difficult time. They never made a judgment call and always advised me to do what makes me happy, and they would support me in any decision I made about my marriage. I am truly blessed by each and every one of them.”

Sonja Morgan shares a no-makeup selfie

So do the Real Housewives really look as glamorous off-camera as they do on Bravo? The stars of Real Housewives Of New York and Real Housewives Of Orange County dish on what they’ve learned since the cameras started rolling, how TV has affected their looks, and if they’re really as glam when they’re not on Bravo!

All the women admit they’re more casual in real life than they are in reality TV life, usually wearing jeans and shirts or workout gear instead of satin cocktail dresses and Louboutins. Bethenny Frankel confesses to being “braless in pajamas” when she drops off her daughter Bryn at school. “Honestly, that’s where the photographers really should be, because it’s scary. It’s a disaster,” she jokes. Hopefully Bethenny is actually wearing her own PJs and not her daughter’s…

 Bethenny Frankel feeds a clown

After seeing Bethenny Frankel dive headlong into her past on this week’s Real Housewives of New York, she wants to remind us all that she’s not living in it anymore. In her Bravo blog, Bethenny assures viewers that “I, genuinely, am not angry.” But before she rehashes the tense (dare we say, angry?) conversation with her estranged stepfather on the episode, she addresses Kristen Taekman’s accusation that Bethenny isn’t spending enough time with the ladies due to her “childcare issues.”

Bethenny says, “Overall, there is a conversation about time spent with children. Pretty may be smarter than I think but not quite smart enough to realize that I’m going through a divorce, and my precious moments are divided.” Ooh, burn! She adds, “My balance as a mother and business person is knowing that I spend every moment possible with my daughter. The one thing that is said universally is that it goes by so quickly. I may have made some money, but I am not ‘nannied’ up, and I don’t go out with girlfriends when I can be with my child. ‘Child care’ doesn’t get me more time with my angel. As I said about the conversation with Luann [de Lesseps], this is the easiest decision I will ever have to make.”

The Real Housewives of New York City - Season 7

As lamp fixtures do, Kristen Taekman sometimes decorates the room a bit, but doesn’t add much to the conversation. Commenting in her Bravo blog on this week’s episode of the Real Housewives of New York, Kristen remarks on everything from Bethenny Frankel’s therapy to Luann de Lesseps’ daughter’s artwork. Oh! And she does have some words for the sparse scenes she was physically present in as well.

“I would like to start out by saying how amazing Ramona [Singer’s] friends are,” begins Kristen, “I know that Bethenny was saying that she didn’t have much in common with any of these women. At first glance neither did I, but in the end we had Ramona in common and sometimes just having a mutual friend in common is enough.” Kristen goes on to defend the entire Upper East Side (those poor unfortunate souls!) claiming, “they are all very lovely, giving, beautiful, supportive women. Many of them are very successful in their own right. During the event, many of them stood up and spoke about their friendships with Ramona.” Kristen is not a fan of Sonja Morgan’s New Age friend, however: “Sonja and the Swami Priestess!? UGH! That Yogi friend of hers gets on my nerves!”

bethenny frankel short hair

As long as we’ve known Bethenny Frankel, she’s had long locks.  But the Real Housewives of New York star is ready to change things up!  Bethenny took to Twitter this afternoon to show off her fresh new look!   Bethenny chopped her hair, colored it and it looks like she even gave it a little kick of red/auburn this time around.   She captioned the pic, “Go Shawty! #TheBisBack.”

Celebrity Sightings in New York - May 18, 2015

Making herself comfortable in the den of shrews on this season’s Real Housewives of New York, Dorinda Medley weighs in on All Things Confrontation in her Bravo blog this week. Claiming to feel more part of the group lately, Dorinda cites the ladies’ Atlantic City trip as the catalyst for girl bonding. “I’m starting to feel ‘familiar’ around them, if that makes any sense,” says Dorinda. Yes. Familiarity usually ensues after seeing your castmate’s snatch on the dance floor, then taking care of her drunkety-drunken carcass afterward. She adds, “The sheen of being a ‘NY Housewife’ isn’t entirely there anymore, because I’m one of them, you know? During and after the Atlantic City trip, I started to feel more comfortable, more at ease, and more like ‘one of the girls.’ Considering how they carry on sometimes, I’m not quite sure if that is a positive or a negative just yet. Maybe a little of both?”

Moving on to Ramona Singer’s birthday bash, Dorinda points out thatRamona is great about having the never-ending birthday that never ends (redundancy intended),” adding, “In reality, her birthday is November 18, but the celebrations start shortly after Halloween and continue throughout the month of November, Thanksgiving be damned. It’s like Ramona Heritage Month. Our next stop on the birthday train was at Fishtail with ALL of her friends. And I mean ALL of them.” As one of the Upper East Side elite, Dorinda gives us her take on Ramona’s 30 closest friends: “These girls run the Upper East Side with an iron fist. They basically buy out every season at Bergdorf’s before it makes it to the floor. They’re a fun crowd—colorful characters—and Bethenny was right: It’s like the Cantina’s greatest hits from Star Wars. Of course, they’re all jockeying to be Princess Leia, though c’mon, Ramona’s the birthday girl. We know she’s the princess in our midst. After all, it is November…”
