The Bachelorette Recap: Much Ado About Nothing

There are ten bachelors left on ABC’s wildly successful entertaining The Bachelorette. This week, the guys score a free trip to London. Yes, Emily Maynard is there too, as there’s always a catch. The guys are checking out the scenery when the first date card comes into play. The one-on-one date goes to Sean Lowe. Date card reads, “Love takes no prisoners.” Emily and Sean tour London. Sean speaks to the people of London about love. Sean is my favorite bachelor thus far; however, this date is dreadfully boring. The date card should have read, “Emily brings the history lesson while Sean brings the pretty.”

The group date card arrives. It reads, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” The mushroom farmer is the first to connect this quote to Shakespeare. I don’t know the rate at which mushrooms grow, so he might have a lot of free time in the fields to read tragic tales such as Romeo and Juliet. Or, a producer might have written the answer on his hand. The group date goes to…

Chris Harrison Talks Favorite Franchise Couples, Emily Maynard Discusses Her Approach to the Show; Plus Bachelor Pad Spoilers!

It’s your daily dose of Bachelorette with a heaping side of Harrison…add some Bachelor Pad for dessert sprinkled with just the right amount of hook ups, implants, and shame. Let’s dig in, shall we?

The always lovely and good-natured Chris Harrison, host of all three train wrecks love quests, opened up to The Huffington Post about his favorite couples through the years. He reveals, “Trista and Ryan [Sutter] were just lightning in a bottle. I don’t know if we’ll ever capture anything like that again. That one will always stand out.” The couple was the first of the franchise to actually wed (on television, of course), and now they have two children together.

Another of Chris’ favorite love birds were our current Bachelorette Emily Maynard and two-time Bachelor Brad Womack. He tells the site, “I felt like the two of them were meant to be and it was gonna work. When they broke up, I was really sad.” Well, you certainly know if you’re tuning into this season that Em has stolen Chris Harrison’s heart along with those of her suitors.

“Everybody’s had this appetite for her,” Chris continues. “She’s so contagious. You just want to care for her, you want to root for her, you want her to do well, and that really makes for a perfect Bachelorette. When her name came up [to be the next Bachelorette], we started bantering about and it was a unanimous home run. It’s very rare that it’s unanimous.”

Emily Maynard Responds To Brad Womack’s Comments; Promises This Season Is About “Real Love!” Plus, Is Erica Rose Dating Shahs Of Sunset’s David Golshan?;

Last week two time loser in television love and all around loser Brad Womack slammed his ex-fiance Emily Maynard; saying he “dodged a bullet” with her and had no plans to watch her look for love again on The Bachelorette. Well, Emily is a nice person and speaking to Access Hollywood, she genuinely believes Brad didn’t mean to sound so harsh. OK – is it possible for Emily to, like, ever get upset?

“At first, my feelings were really hurt, because we left everything very civil and I’ve never said a bad word about him,” Emily confessed. “But, knowing Brad, he didn’t mean it that way. That’s what I want to say,” she added.

As for how things went for her this season, Emily said she had serious reservations about kissing so many different guys as The Bachelorette, but whaddaya gonna do?

Brad Womack Won’t Be Watching Bachelorette Emily Maynard! Holly Durst Will Never Do Reality Television Again!

Last week, yet another cycle of the ABC-sponsored divorce competition The Bachelorette premiered, this time with Emily Maynard, the former fiancee of 2011 Bachleor, Brad Womack. Brad claims he wasn’t one of the thousands watching and snarking on Emily’s quest for love amongst people who desperately want to be on television, but I’m doubtful.

In an interview with local channel ABC 13, Brad says, “All I’ll say is she is a helluva woman and I hope it works out. I have no interest [in watching].” Maybe Brad prefers DVR or reading the live tweets of the show. I just have a hard time believing anyone wouldn’t watch a television show featuring their ex, especially one he broke up with so relatively recently. Just admit it, Brad!

ABC Confirms Emily Maynard Will Be The Next Bachelorette! Will Bentley Williams Return?

ABC is finally making it official!

The network confirmed today that Emily Maynard will indeed star as the next Bachelorette! The confirmation comes just weeks after Bachelor insider Reality Steve first broke the news.

ABC’s press release reads: “Emily Maynard, the beautiful, sweet, young mom who captured America’s and Brad Womack’s heart on the 15th season of ‘The Bachelor’, finally thought she had her happy ending. She accepted Brad’s proposal and was looking forward to walking down the aisle. Unfortunately her relationship with Brad ended, along with her dream of moving to Austin with her daughter, Ricki, and starting a family. But Emily is ready for her luck to change and to bring her the love she so richly deserves.”

Following her break up with Brad Womack last year, the former Bachelor winner had always remained adamant that she did not want to do the show. Her change of heart reportedly came when for the first time in Bachelorette history, ABC decided to have the guys film in her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, rather than in Los Angeles, in order to remain close to her 6-year-old daughter Ricki.

Meanwhile, the latest issue of Us Weekly magazine is now speculating that the procuders might be planning to bring back Bentley Williams, you know, the douche from Ashley Hebert’s season, to ~~stir up some drama~~ vie for Emily’s love. Yikes.

“Bentley is Emily’s type and she knows the show well enough to expect producers to bring him back,” says an Emily pal. “It would be good for ABC, but she’s not sure how good it would be for her!” Bentley is her type???

Production on Emily’s season is expected to begin filming in March, with her season set to air late spring on ABC.

It’s Official – Emily Maynard Will Be The Next Bachelorette!

Weeks after it was reported Emily Maynard was very close to signing on as the next Bachelorette, a new report now confirms it’s a done deal!

Bachelor insider Reality Steve broke the news this morning that Emily, 25, has officially signed on for the ABC hit show.

The single mother of 6-year-old Ricki first captured the heart of fans with her tragic story of how she lost her fiancé and father of her daughter, race car driver Ricky Hendrick, in a plane crash back in 2004 while she was pregnant.

Things appeared to be looking up for Emily after Brad Womack picked her on his Bachelor season and proposed. However, like every other Bachelor relationship that came before them, their relationship ultimately failed.

There’s no word yet on when ABC plans to make the official announcement though it will likely be after Ben Flajnik’s Bachelor season ends. Filming on Emily’s Bachelorette season will reportedly begin in March.

Reality Steve also adds that the likely selling point for Emily, who had stated in the past that she wasn’t interested in doing the show, might be the fact that ABC has agreed to film the new season in her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a first and has never been done before in the history of the Bachelorette.

Emily Maynard As The Next Bachelorette “Almost A Done Deal”

What first appeared to be just rumors now seems like the real deal as a new report is stating Emily Maynard is very close to signing on as the next Bachelorette!

Life & Style magazine reports that Emily, former Bachelor winner and ex-fiance of Brad Womack, has officially been asked by ABC to become the next Bachelorette.

Even better, Emily, 25, is reportedly very interested in the gig! “It’s basically a done deal,” a source close to Emily reveals. “She hasn’t signed the contract yet, but she’s fully on board.”

It appears Emily, single mother to 6-year-old Ricki, has had a change of heart as she stated last summer that she didn’t want the gig following her breakup with Brad.

Life & Style states Emily is ready to find love again and ABC believes she is perfect for The Bachelorette: “Emily is America’s sweetheart,” the source adds. “Fans are going to be thrilled! Everyone loved her.”

Former Bachelor Brad Womack Won’t Stop Calling Emily Maynard! Plus Matt Grant and Natalie Getz Dating!

Bachelor alum Emily Maynard is a popular girl! First it was reported that she is dating Carolina Panthers tight end Jeremy Shockey (although he denied it via Twitter and then linked to his actual girlfriend) and now it seems her ex-fiance, and the very most pathetic contestant in Bachelor history, Brad Womack just won’t leave her alone!

Unfortunately those rumors about Emily dating Jeremy have led Brad to tirelessly drunk dial his ex! Brad “filled up her voicemail with messages of him crying, saying how upset he was that she was with someone else,” a source claims.

Us Weekly is now reporting that Brad “calls Emily every day and at all hours,” despite the fact that he is no longer interested in being romantically involved! “He doesn’t want her back,” a source explains – he just can’t lose her number!

“She just doesn’t pick up. They actually haven’t spoken for months,” the source continues. “She feels like he is so messed up!” Um, you are not alone in thinking that, Emily!

While one Bachelor couple has ended in despair, another one seems to be happily dating! Season 12 Bachelor Matt Grant and Bachelor Pad winner Natalie Getz are apparently a couple.

A close friend of Natalie’s discloses that the pair are “100 percent dating!”

The couple allegedly got together, not at one of zillion Bachelor-family reunions, but at their Local LA Starbucks after they kept randomly bumping into each other! Kinda nice, actually. A friend of Matt’s informs us, “They always saw each other, so one day he was like, ‘Let’s hang out,’ because he thought she was fun. It was totally organic.”

“It’s still new, but they’ve gone out a few times and are seeing how things go,” the friend continues. “Their friends think they’re a good match.” Best of luck to the new couple. And best of luck to Emily in getting away from her stalker Brad!
