Well, seasons change, and the women are once again on the outs thanks to wedding gown shopping and Reba McEntire. "Here's your one chance Fancy, don't let me down." But let each other down both fancy pants did, and now they are back to snarking about each other on social media. That didn't take long. Full circle, some might say…
I'm convinced if their businesses bazillion ventures fail or they bid farewell to reality television (either by choice or incarceration), the women of Real Housewives of New Jersey could make fabulous livings as spin instructors. They certainly must get a good work out changing their stories every five seconds. All of the women are guilty of it, but Teresa Giudice and sister-in-law Melissa Gorga are shining professionals when it comes to spinning their version of events to make them the good guy. Hey, at least it's entertaining!
After being accused of threatening Melissa in her blog last week, Teresa clarifies her words in yesterday's Bravo entry. She promises that all of the family (well, maybe not ALL of them…she implies that one little lady is still up to her evil ways) is trying to make things better after that dramatic retreat. Tre writes, "What did you think of the Miracle at St. George? I think I haven't cried that much in my whole life. I cried all over again watching it. All this nonsense about our family not getting along for 10 years just isn't true."
Teresa continues, "You can tell from how we were at the end of the episode — cooking and laughing and enjoying each other like close families do. I wish I could have had every one of you in the room with us to feel the love. You deserve it after watching our darkest moments! Thank you all so much for keeping the faith in my family!" No problem, Billy Joel! Happy to oblige. Teresa is right on that front…we have seen a lot of darkness with the women of RHONJ, and I for one welcomed the reprieve!
When you're a housewife making money off your wares and tomes and cocktails, you've got to strike while the iron is hot…and your brand is still making money. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'Brandi Glanville is no dummy, and she's following the Bravo formula to a T.
On the heels of her wildly successful Drinking and Tweeting, Brandi is ready is to get to work on a follow-up book. The wild Bravolebrity promises a no holes barred look at her life, love, and crazy antics, and there is no doubt that readers will be treated to plenty of Brandi's brash humor and jaw-dropping one-liners.
In her Bravo blog, Lydia discusses returning from the Great White North to a sense of normalcy. She writes, "Coming off of the girls trip to Canada, it was good to get back to our normal routines. This episode really showed all of our personal lives rather then our relationships with one another. . .and I kind of liked that." You know, of all these women, I think Lydia is the only one who truly does enjoy being normal and drama-free!
You know, I have mad respect for how hard the ladies of the housewives' franchise work. When they aren't filming drama-licious episodes, they are on a constant media tour, touting their products, and giving a whirlwind of interviews. Of course, we all know that no housewife is on her game more than Real Housewives of New Jersey'sTeresa Giudice, and you have to give her mad respect for that!
Speaking to Out In Jersey, Tre dishes on everything from her favorite dishes (what a segue!) to her family dramz. Of her latest cookbook Fabulicious On The Grill, Teresa opines, "It's really refreshing right?! This book is all about eating clean, and exercising of course. You are what you eat, people need to get that by now," adding, "I've been exercising for the past two seasons and it's been great, they really go hand in hand. I cook the way you see in the book, simple and easy, and always with fresh ingredients. That's really what people need to understand, it doesn't have to be fancy. You can make a great meal with fresh and simple ingredients."
Teresa also reveals that she's always had a passion for cooking, and she hopes that her girls will share her love of all things culinary. She says, "I'm first generation Italian, it's definitely what I love to do. The cooking, the cleaning, all of the traditional things like that, like the old days. I really think that the new generation loses that, and it's really important. Those are the things that were instilled in me, like keeping a good house and having old school values. I want my daughters to do these things for their families, which is what really inspired me to do the books. It's a memoir for my daughters to have for the future."
Discussing how it's hard to re-watch the drama after the fact, Kathy explains, "It scratches the surface again and that hurt keeps coming up. It’s hard to watch it because you’re like, ‘Oh my God—that’s what we look like.’ Sometimes it’s about the hurt and not about the actions that make is so bad. And we’ve come so far that you don’t want that to suck you back in."
She adds, "You have to rise above it and say, ‘Okay, I’m glad I’m not there anymore.’ It’s easy to add negativity because you now see what the other party was saying and you can easily start saying things and falling into that trap. You start reliving those patterns so you’re really not in a better place if you allow yourself to do the same things. Then you really haven’t learned anything."
From what I've observed, if you're going to be a Bravo housewife, your future can take three possible paths—or any combination of the three, which takes serious talent (Kim Zolciak Biermann has pulled off the triple crown of housewives). These ladies either get their own spin-off, create their own pink, bubbly, wine cooler-ish alcoholic beverage, or lose their homes (granted Kim's was a rental) while attempting to live outside their means.
On a recent episode of Real Housewives of Orange County, Tamra Judge revealed a painful secret. While going through her divorce to high school sweetheart Darren Vieth, she tried to overdose on pills and Nyquil. Tamra's admission served to explain why she's so closed off and good at deflecting with her over-the-top antics. After the episode aired, her ex (father of her oldest son Ryan) is coming forward with accusations of cheating and theatrics. It looks like someone is ready to cash in their fifteen minutes! To be honest, I'm actually surprised we haven't heard from this dude sooner.
Of course, Tamra isn't one to sit by silently when someone is spreading rumors about her, so she's fighting back the way all good Bravo housewives do. That's right! She's calling him out on Twitter. I have a feeling that Darren is going to be no match for Tamra!
In an interview with Radar Online, Tamra's (first) ex-husband is speaking out over Tamra's accusations that he is partly to blame for what drove her to her first suicide attempt. Just like Tamra, Darren has a sharp tongue and doesn't hold back, so I can see where the pair possibly butted heads during their young union. He tells the site, “Tamra is a liar, a cheater and a bad mother to our son, Ryan, and she seemed to enjoy constant drama in her life because it lead to attention,” adding, “Tamra usually never tells the entire story, and this time is no different.” Wait, what? Tamra enjoys drama?
