At this point, Tamra Judge seems like a different person after her newfound Christianity. Instead of being the instigator, she is really trying when it comes to this peacemaker role – minus hating on eternal frienemy Vicki Gunvalson whenever possible, but that’s basically a rite of passage on Real Housewives of Orange County.
Still, she was calm, cool, and collected during that instantly infamous dinner at The Quiet Woman when Shannon Beador threw a plate (full of food, mind you), and she was even polite and cordial toward Kelly Dodd (who she cannot stand).
Then again, they are all contractually obligated to the same reality TV show and they have to be in the same room at some point so it’s an unrealistic notion and here we are: watching this mudslinging, shade throwing, and secret revealing drama.
Tamra claims she thought Lydia and Shannon would get along great, though. That is, before Lydia mentioned Shannon had some similarities in the pettiness department with Vicki. Before she breaks down the drama that happened at her granddaughter, Ava’s, first birthday party, Tamra previews that “I officially meet Peggy [Sulahain] next Monday. You DO NOT want to miss it!”
It really seems like Lydia McLaughlin is in over head with this whole “Friendship Whisperer” shtick. She does not have the ability or the knowledge to reunite Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador with Vicki Gunvalson. She wasn’t in touch with anyone when she initially left the show and she didn’t even watch Real Housewives of Orange Countywhen she wasn’t a part of the cast, so she just doesn’t know what she’s talking about- even if her heart really is in the right place.
Lydia is a bench player on the Real Housewives JV team while (most of) the other women in this cast are varsity starters. When Lydia and Vicki appeared on Watch What Happens Live, Lydia stuck to her guns as the self-proclaimed “Friendship Whisperer” and did what she could to be sassy, but it just fell flat. In more surprising news, Vicki actually admitted that she wants to be friends with Tamra again.
In a recent interview, Tamra admits that she’s still not on good terms with Vicki and Kelly Dodd, and she didn’t really get to know newcomer Peggy Sulahian as well as she could have. She shares that “it’s such a different season this year. The cast was a little bit split almost three quarters of the way through filming. I don’t know what Kelly and Vicki did most of the time because I was filming much more with Meghan [Edmonds] and Shannon [Beador]. Peggy is the new girl and I didn’t film with her all that much either.”
It’s never unusual to hear about Vicki Gunvalson partying in Cabo. It’s basically her second home. The part of this story that is pretty alarming to the Real Housewives of Orange County fans is that there are whispers about her being there with her most notorious ex boyfriend Brooks Ayers. Vicki has adamantly denied the hang out claims. Multiple times.
Obviously, it’s annoying me that Brooks is the topic of conversation (again) and I feel like I’m adding to the annoyance by typing out his name, but at least it seems like Vicki is actually one hundred percent done with this scumbag. Or at least I hope so.
When the last Real Housewives of Orange County season started, I could not stand Kelly Dodd. As more episodes aired, I grew to be even more annoyed. Then there were was a slight shift in the tide and I actually felt bad for Kelly during that hellish Ireland trip.
Even though I couldn’t believe Kelly brought up Tamra Judge’s relationship with her estranged daughter on top of pretty much everything else Kelly did before that trip, I still felt like Tamra, Heather Dubrow, and Shannon Beador were ganging up on Kelly and trying to instigate her. I am still trying to figure out how I feel about Kelly, but she definitely earned her spot and allowed us all to move on from the Brooks Ayers saga that was still lingering from the season before. That’s why I’m pretty pleased Andy Cohen confirmed Kelly’s return.
