When she learned the news, Camille was determined to beat the disease head-on, undergoing a radical hysterectomy. It was while she was recovering from her surgery that her boyfriend allegedly attacked her. If that wasn't enough, Camille was subjected to multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. Now, thankfully, there appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Dimitri has already seen the papers, because he's allegedly holding them when he spoke to Access Hollywood last month to give his side of the abuse allegation. Camille's attorneys tell TMZ they've attempted to formally serve Dimitri everywhere to no avail, trying to track him down at home, at his parent's house, his kid's school and through his own attorney.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hillsstar obtained a temporary restraining order against Dimitri as a result of the incident which occurred on October 15th and 16th in a Houston, TX hotel room and claims she was held victimized for hours in fear for her life. Sources reveal this was not the first timeCamille was harmed by Dimitri.
Speaking out to Access Hollywood, Dimitri denies Camille's claims although he does not offer any reason for why she would accuse him of domestic violence. Admitting, "There was a verbal altercation. And it was heated." Dimitri maintains he did not physically assault Camille.
The reality star hasn't remained mum on her scary situation. Camille has taken out a restraining order against Dimitri, voiced her anger on Twitter, and now she's appeared on daytime television to talk about her experiences. Good for you, girl. No need to sweep anything under the rug!
You know who needs to stop talking for a little bit? Wendy Williams, In fact, I feel kind of badly talking about her and giving her more attention, but her latest shenanigans need to be addressed. Domestic violence knows no boundaries, be it social, economic, or age, and we're all often guilty of blaming the victim…or doubting their recollection of events. I'm not saying that every woman who has claimed to be abused actually was, but on the flip side, do I want to be the one who makes that call? No. If someone's life is so sad that they feel the need to make false accusations, they don't need my judgment.
That said, just because someone is a person we like to snark on or seems generally horrible to be around, doesn't mean that they deserve to have someone put their hands on them. We all love to hate the often violent Evelyn Lozada, but her attitude doesn't warrant her ex-husband's behavior towards her any more than we excuse her behavior towards past co-stars. Sorry, that was a lot to get off my chest, but with the recent news of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Grammer suffering abuse at the hand of her boyfriend Dimitri Charalambopoulos, Wendy Williams has felt the need to put in her two cents…and to her, Camille's story sounds "sketchy." Geez.
Camille is working with the police and successfully obtained a restraining order. Upon hearing the news Camille's former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star, Taylor, is of course commenting. Happily, Taylor who is now in a much happier relationship has nothing but positive and supportive remarks.
"I am shocked and saddened by reports that Camille was in an abusive relationship," Taylor told E! News. "It takes a tremendous amount of courage to take a stand and report abuse." Taylor has previously given reality TV credit for saving her life from more detrimental abuse and giving her the strength to leave her marriage.
The incident occurred when another woman started texting Dimitri at 1:30 AM. The woman then called him and began screaming on the phone. The phone call led to an argument between Camille and Dimitri and she alleges that he "grabbed her by the hair, twisted it around his hand and repeatedly pulled her head into the bed and its headboard." Camille attests to losing some clumps of hair as a result of his actions.
