Survivor Game Changers

It was a different kind of episode this week on Survivor, one that grabbed national headlines outside the realm of Reality TV sites. The line between real-life and “the game” was crossed unlike ever before and one player was given one of the most shameful exits in the history of the show.

What Happened on Exile, Stays on Exile

Survivor began over 17 years ago as a social experiment of sorts: What would happen if different people, from various walks of life, of different religious beliefs, ages, and ethnicities, creeds, classes, and color, were put together on an island and forced to vote each other out?

In the Summer of 2000, with Survivor’s very first season, this question was put to the ultimate test, and television’s best Reality TV show was born. The reason it has endured for 34 seasons is not just because of the concept, or the entertainment value…surely there are other shows that haven’t lasted half as long as Survivor, that included elements of strategy, competition, or battling the elements. One of the main reasons that Survivor has lasted for so long was on display during the latest episode of Survivor: Game Changers. There wasn’t a massive blindside (well, not in the normal sense of the word anyways). There wasn’t an amazing come-from-behind challenge victory. No idols were played. No, on occasion, Survivor crosses the line and enters into social relevancy, tackling topics that are far more complex in the real world but dealing with them in a real, human way, within the microcosm of the game.

What Happened on Exile, Stays on Exile

The Queen has now fallen, so who, if anyone, will step up to claim the crown? It’s not quite a game of thrones on Survivor, but with another big target like Sandra Diaz-Twine now out of the mix, there is sure to be a bit of blood spilled as the remaining 14 players jostle for position in the game. In addition to blood, it looks like tonight’s new episode will also feature some tears being shed, as one tribe faces an emotional meltdown.

Survivor Game Changers

What a difference a day makes. One minute you are on top of the world and running the show, the next you find yourself fighting for dear life. Another unpredictable Tribal Council led to the latest exit on Survivor, and it left Jeff Probst with a huge grin on his face…always a good sign the show’s going well.

Vote Early, Vote Often

“I have no idea what just happened, and it’s a feeling I’m starting to get used to.” These words are how host Jeff Probst capped off tonight’s newest episode of Survivor, and they’re words that mirror how many fans feel thus far during what has been one heck of a season…a season that just continues to try to top itself each week. We expected a season called “Game Changers” to present the players with twists and turns, but I don’t think anybody watching the show at home expected to be thrown for just as many loop de loops. Tonight, once again, was a breath-taking piece of entertainment, ending in a Tribal that had me on the edge of my seat, up and cheering, and finally slumping back, asking myself, “What the heck just happened?”

Is there any better feeling to achieve when watching Survivor? Please be warned that there are spoilers to follow, as we will be discussing in detail the events that took place during Episode 5 of Survivor: Game Changers.

Vote Early, Vote Often

Alpha Males have been dropping like flies in recent weeks on Survivor: Game Changers, with four straight men having their torches snuffed a bit prematurely. But as the testosterone levels dwindle, the unpredictability of this season’s twists continues to ramp up. Tonight’s episode will include at least three major game twists, sure to keep the 15 remaining players on their toes.

Survivor Game Changers

Although sugar played a huge part this Wednesday on Survivor, not everything was so sweet for one contestant. On the heels of last week’s history-making Tribal Council, we were give a heck of a follow-up episode this week, where not only was there not much chaos at Tribal, but someone actually calmly sipped water from a cup as the votes were read…no joke. That’s a bit of a drastic contrast from the craziness we had previously witnessed.

Dirty Deed

We all know that little boys are made of snips and snails and puppy dog tails, and that little girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice. Well whoever is responsible for making Sandra and Michaela (and Deb for that matter), they may want to check their sugar jar, because these gals seem to have been made up with a disproportionate amount of spice. Luckily for them, revenge is sweet, especially when it comes in the form of a Survivor #blindside.

It was the second-straight “good” to “very good” episode in a row and this season is definitely beginning to heat up and live up to its “Game Changers” name, but before we go over-confidently to Tribal Council without bringing all of our belongings with us, please be warned that there are spoilers to follow, as we will be discussing in detail the events that took place during Episode 4 of Survivor: Game Changers.
