Chad Ochocinco

In an all new interview, Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada opens up about her relationship with fiance Chad Ochocinco, even revealing their wedding plans (hint- next summer). Evelyn also discusses costar Meeka’s lawsuit and her relationship with Jennifer today.

When it comes to her fiance Chad, Evelyn promises his surprising romantic gestures such as having dinner on the beach in a recent episode aren’t just for show. “He’s very spontaneous. He’s like that all the time; it wasn’t just for TV,” said Evelyn to Miami New Times. As for her wedding plans with Chad, Evelyn wouldn’t divulge much details though she did reveal it will take place “definitely next summer.” She adds that a newlywed types spin-off show is not out of the question.

Evelyn was also very vocal about Meeka Claxton’s lawsuit against Tami Roman for battery. “My honest opinion is that it is ridiculous. I think she is doing it for attention,” said Evelyn. “When you sign up for a show, you have to know that everything isn’t going to be peaches and cream. Not everyone is going to be BFFs. It’s a reality show. Fights are going to happen.” Apparently getting sucker punched in the face comes with the territory of doing the show.

And despite her past hangups with Tami, Evelyn makes it clear she is Team Tami. “After Tami and I got over our drama, we genuinely like each other. Our loyalty is with her,” she said. As for her friendship with Jennifer Williams, Evelyn reveals all is now well except that Chad and Jennifer are no longer speaking.

“It is awkward for me. We run into each other on South Beach and they don’t speak,” said Evelyn. “Chad doesn’t comment, but the fact we bumped into her one day at the movies on Mother’s Day and he didn’t speak says a lot without saying anything.” As we reported, the reunion show was taped just over a week ago and Evelyn tweeted pictures of the risque Herve Leger dress she wore. Those pics are below!

In other Basketball Wives news, TMZ is reporting Royce Reed suffered a seizure during a charity softball game on Saturday.

Sources reveal that after playing in the game and signing autographs for fans, Royce pulled a hamstring muscle and when she went to go sit down, she passed out.

Once Royce came to, she was surprised to hear she suffered a seizure as she stated she had never experienced one before. The paramedics were called though Royce declined to go to the hospital. The good news is Royce is however feeling fine today and told friends a combination of exhaustion, stress, the heat and her diet caused the episode.

A new episode of Basketball Wives airs tonight on VH1 at 8/7 and a preview clip is below!

Holy lawsuit drama! TMZ is now reporting that Basketball Wives star Meeka Claxton has filed a lawsuit against her costar Tami Roman for assault and battery.

This all stems from a nightclub fight that took place in Rome, Italy last month. And yes this is the same fight that will be shown on the upcoming episode of the VH1 show. According to reports, things came to ahead between both ladies when Tami decided to punch Meeka in the face leading to a fist fight.

In the lawsuit filed yesterday in New York, Meeka alleges Tami “assaulted, battered, beat, threatened, menaced, attacked, jumped on, pushed to the ground, thrashed, punched, and shoved” her causing serious injury.

Meeka is seeking unspecified damages stating the incident cost her a day of filming — and put her through an emotional and physical hell. Tami has yet to respond to the lawsuit. But err does Tami have any money to pay out?

In other news, the Dancing With The Stars casting rumors continue to heat up! The latest reality star in the season 13 casting rumor mill? None other than Evelyn Lozada! TMZ is reporting the VH1 reality star is indeed in talks to do the show.

Sources connected to the show reveal, “Dancing” producers love the idea of having Evelyn on the show — especially since she’s engaged to Chad who was a previous contestant.”

Yes if Evelyn signs that dotted line, she would be following in the footsteps of her NFL fiance Chad Ochocinco who did the show last year during season 10. Chad would be able to give his fiance some tips as he actually made it to the semi-finals during his season.

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON THE LAWSUIT? TEAM MEEKA OR TEAM TAMI? DO YOU WANT TO SEE EVELYN ON DANCING WITH THE STARS?

Following last week’s dramatic premiere, the latest episode of Basketball Wives was more on the mellow end, or more accurately the calm before the storm. This week, we discover Suzie has no back bone, Meeka is might be two-faced, Tami is NOT a fan of the hand or Meeka, Jennifer wants to get her groove back, Evelyn’s solution to every problem is to get laid (preferably to a younger bloke), and also Shaunie has no storyline this season!

The episode begins with Jennifer and Tami catching up at Jen’s place, as Jennifer takes a break from being Evelyn’s shadow. Though I’m a tad surprised to see her breaking bread with Evelyn’s enemy. Tami brings up the t-shirt and lawsuit drama, while Jen tries to stay neutral on the issue.

Circle outcasts Royce and Suzie meet up to gossip grab a bite. The topic of convo is Jen’s ex Eric and Royce reveals she still keeps in touch with him via the twitter and it shouldn’t be a problem for Jen. The topic then turns to Evelyn and Royce wastes no time in trashing her. “I can change my hair. I can change my clothes. But she can’t change the fact that she’s a ho.” Ouch! When it comes to Jennifer, Royce and Suzie agree that she is “cool” when she’s not stuck up Evelyn’s butt. Err the jury is still out on that one.

They’re baaaack! Following their dramatic and highly rated second season, Basketball Wives returns to the VH1 network on May, 30 at 8/7c.

And judging from the newly released trailer posted below, the ladies pick right where they left off from the dramatic season 2 finale and reunion show. How dramatic? Let’s just say Evelyn and Royce get into a dramatic fist fight! There is also a new housewife in the mix this season as Meeka Claxton (pictured far right above) joins the cast. Meeka, co-owner of the Allure Realty Group, is married to former NBA player Speedy Claxton.

So what can we expect from Season 3? Well Shaunie O’Neal settles back into Miami determined to be drama free or leave the ladies alone while Evelyn Lozada makes the transition from a basketball wife to a football wife with fiancé Chad Ochocinco. The cameras will catch Jennier Williams finally leaving her husband and navigating a new lifestyle as a single lady.

With Royce Reed’s new larger than life attitude, viewers will see if there is enough room for involvement with Jen, Evelyn and Shaunie or if her attitude will take the spotlight. Left hurt and betrayed, Tami Roman works on rebuilding her trust for the ladies and moving on from the past.

Check out the season trailer below plus another photo of Meeka!

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON THE TRAILER? ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW SEASON?

As the days go by, it’s starting to seem more and more plausible that Evelyn Lozada will not be returning to Basketball Wives.

For starters, TMZ reported last week that Evelyn gave the show producers an ultimatum to either pay her $20,000 an episode or she walks for good. Sources close to the production told TMZ that Evelyn and her costars currently pull in around $7,500 an episode.

And then just yesterday, TMZ reported that Evelyn is in talks with the E! network regarding a spinoff show with fiance Chad Ochocinco. Sources close to Evelyn reveal that E! approached her with the new offer as soon as they discovered she wanted to quit Basketball Wives.

As for the reason Evelyn wants to quit the show, she is reportedly very upset with the way the finale episode turned out and is blaming producers for instigating the fight between her and costar Tami Roman. Evelyn has yet to make a final decision but sources add that she and Chad are seriously entertaining the E! offer.

And speaking of Chad and Evelyn, the couple spoke to PEOPLE magazine during which they both stated they will not be rushing to the altar anytime soon.

“He has four kids. I have one. We want to be engaged for at least a year and enjoy our time with our children, and then we’re going to plan our wedding,” Evelyn told PEOPLE, adding that they would both like to have more children. “The more kids, the happier I am,” she said.

So how does Chad feel about the dramatic finale of Basketball Wives during which Evelyn admitted to having once slept with former NBA player Kenny Anderson, while he was still married to costar Tami? Chad revealed all is well because they don’t hide anything from each other.

“I know everything about her, so there are no surprises,” said Chad. “My grandma says, ‘Always marry your best friend, because your best friend will be able to tell you anything and not hide nothing.’ That’s one of the things I really like, which is one of the reasons why she’s wearing that ring.”

Evelyn added that she had a hard time dealing with the backlash from the show. “I was having a hard time [watching],” she said. “I have a lot of followers on Twitter, so everyone has an opinion on your life, and they think they know you. Some of the things they say are hurtful, but he made me keep it together. He’s very supportive with everything.”

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON CHAD & EVELYN’S COMMENTS? WOULD YOU WATCH A SPINOFF SHOW WITH THE TWO?

Following a one week hiatus and news that Jennifer Williams will be filing for divorce, Basketball Wives returns tonight with an all new dramatic episode!

On the 8th episode this season, the ladies travel to Madrid, but Royce’s phantom illness and Tami’s mood swings put a damper on the festivities. Meanwhile, a man catches Jen’s eye, and the ladies overindulge on the local feed.

It airs tonight at 8/7c on VH1. A preview clip is below.

In other Basketball Wives news, NFL player and DWTS alum Chad Ochocinco is finally opening up about his engagement to Evelyn Lozada and based on his comments, it’s safe to assume these two crazy kids will not be tying the knot anytime soon.

If you recall, Evelyn announced the engagement via twitter back in November and according to Chad, it isn’t all sunshine and roses for the duo. “To be honest, we bump heads. Like, the personalities,” Chad told Entertainment Tonight.

“I can put my foot down but I’m trying to let her feel like she wears the pants. That’s what you’ve got to do sometimes. You’ve got to reverse it,” said Chad going on to add that Evelyn controls his finances. “The thing is, I can’t even spend it, man. Don’t get engaged man, don’t get engaged. She done put a stop to all the spending and all the having fun and I’m on a budget every month now and it’s frustrating because that wild side and that fun Chad is going away. I’m so businesslike because of that other half.”

So are there any wedding plans on the horizon? “I haven’t made wedding plans. Right now, I’m still in the stage of trying to make sure we’re on the same page before we [take that step], you know?” confesses Chad.

Here’s to hoping this won’t be another 10-year engagement for Eve.

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON CHAD’S COMMENTS & TONIGHT’S EPISODE OF BASKETBALL WIVES? DO YOU THINK EVELYN AND CHAD WILL MAKE IT DOWN THE AISLE?

Following the news of their engagement on Tuesday, many are still wondering if this is the real deal or just a publicity stunt. While the jury is still out on that, TMZ is reporting that VH1 has now offered Chad Ochocinco and his fiance Evelyn Lozada, star of Basketball Wives, their own spin-off reality show.

According to TMZ, VH1 offered them the show just hours after the news of their 10-carat engagement hit. The show would focus mainly on the couple’s post-engagement relationship leading up to the wedding, which might be a problem as sources close to the couple stated on Tuesday that they would be having a looong engagement.

Sources add that the couple is very interested but won’t sign the dotted line unless “the money and situation are right.” VH1 reportedly wants to start filming right away.

There are also rumors that Evelyn might be pregnant after she tweeted a photo of a positive pregnancy test on Monday. Yes, she did. Though just moments later, she wrote, “I’m not PREGO!!!! Woooh hooooo.”

So to sum this up, you get engaged and your first thought is to tweet the ring photo along with a message to the haters, just a day after tweeting a picture of a positive pregnancy test, only to then tweet moments later that it was just a joke. Perhaps Evelyn and Chad are a perfect match after all!

And finally, we reported on Wednesday that Chad was two timing Evelyn with Rubi Pazmino, the winner of his VH1 dating show. Well we now have more details on what happened with Rubi and Chad.

Rubi tells us exclusively that she ultimately decided to end things with Chad after she found out he was cheating on her with Eve and many other women. Remember, TMZ reports that Chad and Evelyn have been together for 4 months though he was still dating Rubi as of 2 months ago. Despite the fact that Rubi ended things with him, Chad still continued to call, begging her to take him back with Evelyn still in the picture.

Even though Evelyn was well aware of Chad’s cheating ways (she and Rubi talked and compared notes), Evelyn apparently forgave Chad. Rubi tells us Chad’s attitude was one of “I am unfaithful, take it or leave it.” She decided to leave it. Rubi adds that Chad’s actions show he had no respect for either she or Evelyn.

TELL US – WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON CHAD’S CHEATING? WOULD YOU WATCH A REALITY SHOW WITH HIM & EVELYN?

Must say we didn’t see this one coming.

TMZ broke the news late yesterday that NFL star Chad Ochocinco, 32, and VH1 reality star Evelyn Lozada, 34, are officially engaged after 4 months of dating.

According to TMZ, Chad, who appeared on the last season of Dancing With The Stars and had his own VH1 dating show, popped the question to Evelyn yesterday in Cincinnati with a 10-carat engagement ring. Evelyn reportedly flew in to see him from Miami.

The Basketball Wives star wasted no time in sharing the good news with her twitter followers. She tweeted a photo of the super blinged engagement ring with the caption – “I’m no rabbit but 10 carats looks good on me!! Let the hating begin.” A photo of the ring is below.

Some are wondering if this the real deal or just a publicity stunt as the second season of Basketball Wives (you can watch the Season 2 trailer here!) is set to premiere in just weeks on December 12. Only time will tell. TMZ does add that the couple plans to be engaged for a while.

Here’s to hoping the 2nd time will be the charm for Eve as her last engagement to former NBA player Antoine Walker ended after 10 years with no walk down the aisle.

This engagement also came as a surprise as Chad was supposed to be dating Rubi Pazmino, you know, the winner of his VH1 dating show Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch. The show’s finale aired back in September and in her VH1 interview following the finale, Rubi stated she and Chad were indeed together and that Chad told her the rumors that he was dating Evelyn were false. “He said Evelyn’s a friend of his,” stated Rubi two months ago.

Well fast forward to today and it’s all but obvious Chad and Evelyn were more than just friends. We reached out to Rubi following the engagement news and she exclusively told Reality Tea that Chad was lying as he was indeed two-timing both she and Evelyn.

Even more shocking, Rubi revealed to us that she and Evelyn spoke about it, and that there were even many other women in the picture. And when it comes to the engagement, Rubi stated she has no clue about it, adding “maybe he has changed.”

Rubi also states on her twitter page that she will likely sell the promise ring Chad gave her on ebay. Guess Evelyn won the “prize” in this situation.
