According to the latest issue of UsWeekly magazine, formerBachelor Brad is still hoping he can win back his ex-fiance Emily and has been totally distraught since the split.
A source reveals Brad, 38, continues to drunk-dial Emily, 25. “When they weren’t together, Brad would drunk-dial Emily and cry,” says the source. A friend also reveals that Brad would be crushed if Emily went on to become the Bachelorette as reported. “It would kill him,” says the friend.
Brad’s ex Laurel Kagay has said on numerous occasions that her relationship with Brad was very unhealthy. Laurel stated Brad had a scary temper and would continuously break up with her only to beg her to take him back days later. Perhaps Brad was doing the same thing with Emily and she got fed up.
As for the reason Brad did not participate in the interview with Emily, sources reveal he was simply too distressed over the break up. Other sources add that Brad also declined the invite because he did not want another Jake and Vienna situation. Probably the smartest decision he’s made in decades.
As for those reports stating Emily will be the next Bachelorette, host Chris Harrison admits that while Emily’s name has been tossed around, it is far from a done deal.
“It’s obviously been bantered about,” Chris tells Access Hollywood. “We’re not idiots, we talked about it, of course, but it hadn’t even been broached to her. It is way too soon.” Chris also adds that it is simply way too early to pick a Bachelorette as production on the new season will not begin for at least 6 months.
“It is way too early, way too presumptuous of anybody to say she’s The Bachelorette,” say Chris adding, “We would never pigeonhole ourselves … this early.”
TELL US – SHOULD EMILY GET BACK TOGETHER WITH BRAD?
In a preview clip released by the network, the former Bachelor winner opens up and discusses her struggle to trust again two months after her split from Brad.
“Right now I just want to focus on being a mom, and not have to worry about you know, somebody is in the bushes taking pictures or if something I tell a girlfriend is going to end up in the magazine the next day, not knowing who to trust,” Emily tells host Chris Harrison in the preview below.
Emily adds, “It’s been really hard on me. You don’t know who to turn to so you end up staying by yourself and that makes you even more sad.”
While Emily reveals her focus now is on her 6-year-old daughter Ricki, other sources state she has a desire to be the next Bachelorette because she wants to be famous. In fact UsWeekly reported last week that Emily is very close to inking a deal with ABC.
Brad declined to sit for the interview with Emily but did tell PEOPLE magazine he takes full responsibility for the demise of their relationship. The new Bachelorette episode airs tonight on ABC at 8/7c.
TELL US – THOUGHTS ON EMILY’S INTERVIEW? ARE YOU OVER THIS BREAK UP?
Poor Ashley Hebert…she’s looking for love on the Bachelorette but can’t seem to catch a break. We have watched the train wreck that is Bentley Williams all but derail her quest to find her Prince Charming, and then a report came out stating the man she chose aka her fiance is a womanizer.
So are the remaining suitors as perfect as they seem? On the most recent episode, Ames Brown, the Manhattan financier who seems shy yet smooth, gains flirty points with Ashley for a lame make-out session in an elevator. He is also riding on his sympathy points from two episodes ago when he got a concussion during a round of Thai boxing. I don’t know about you, but I think that had Ames not gone to the hospital, he wouldn’t have been around this week for me to blog about on Reality Tea.
As skeletons of the final guys come running out of their closets, those closest to them are quick to send their warnings to Ashley…all out of the goodness of their hearts and not because they want to see themselves quoted in a tabloid. Case in point, an ex-girlfriend of Ames’ reveals to Life and Style, that while he did graduate from an Ivy League School, he’s hardly the “portfolio manager” his Bachelorette bio proclaims.
The mystery lady says, “Ames never has real jobs. He just gets degrees and travels around.” To that I say, why is that bad? He clearly has the funds to do what he wants, so what if Ashley has to spend a couple years traveling with her over-educated, under-employed world-traveling husband? I mean, besides the fact that he can’t handle a punch and seems slightly awkward in social situations, what’s the problem?
And it doesn’t end there…from the over-educated to the over-excited, people from Ryan Park’spast are coming forward to explain that over-eager solar energy executive from California (who is not well liked among his fellow cast mates, to put it nicely) is only on the show to promote himself. A source reveals, “He broke up with his girlfriend right before he went on the show because he told her he wasn’t ready to get married and didn’t feel like marriage was in his future.” Hmmm…it makes sense to do that before going on a show where you don’t win money or vacations or excessive material things, but instead you are trying to win A SPOUSE.
We’ll all have to wait and see if these accusations have a grain of truth or if some scorned ex-girlfriends are just looking for their fifteen minutes seconds of fame. Regardless, I’ll bet that Bentley is thanking his lucky stars that he won’t be the only one with sketchy motives when the guys are put in Chris Harrison’s hot seat on The Men Tell All.
The show is on hiatus tonight. It returns next week with the all new interview with Emily Maynard.
TELL US – DO YOU BELIEVE SOME OF ASHLEY’S GUYS ARE THERE FOR THE WRONG REASONS?
Finally, the ABC network is getting ready to confirm the worst kept secret ever, which is thatBrad Womack and Emily Maynard have indeed broken up.
Following the airing of the Bachelor finale months ago, the couple had been plagued with break up rumors. However multiple media outlets reported the two ended things for good weeks ago.
Unfortunately for Brad, 38, and Emily, 25, they hadn’t been able to confirm the break-up publicly due to their ABC contracts that reportedly prohibits them from talking about it. That is now all about to change as Bachelor insider Reality Steve just broke the news that Emily is currently in Los Angeles getting ready to film a special with ABC to discuss the break-up.
RS adds that Brad will not be a part of the interview a la Jake & Vienna, because he declined to take part in it. The interview will take place in a closed set with host Chris Harrison during which Emily will talk about her and Brad’s relationship, revealing they have been broken up for a while now, and that she was the one who ended it with him.
Emily’s interview will air on July 11th during the last 10-15 minutes of the “Bachelorette” episode. In comparison, Jake and Vienna’s interview lasted close to 45 minutes.
TELL US – WILL YOU WATCH EMILY’S INTERVIEW? THOUGHTS ON BRAD DECLINING THE INTERVIEW?
According to reports, Bentley will be back on the show. The reason? Because Ashley Hebert wanted him back and had producers of the show call him everyday for two weeks to beg him to return. Wowzers. “Ashley wanted a second chance with Bentley, so she begged producers to get him on the phone and get him on a plane out to see her,” a Bachelorette insider tells Life & Style. “She couldn’t stop thinking about him after he left her.”
Host Chris Harrison also confirms Bentley does indeed return to the show in a later episode. It gets even worse as Bentley ended up rejecting Ashley again upon his return. A friend states he didn’t have a change of heart and only wanted a free vacation. “He’s never been to Hong Kong,” the friend notes.
And some fans of the ABC show have wondered why Chris and the producers never stepped in to warn Ashley about Bentley, when it came to his comments about her in his interviews (aka Ashley’s an ugly ducking and he’s not attracted to her). Well other than the obvious reason of it brings in ratings, host Chris claims it’s because they didn’t want to interfere with Ashley’s process.
“If you have information about a guy before he even gets out of the limo, that’s beyond a red flag. We gave her the option and said, “You don’t have to meet this guy. We can pull him.” We justify everything by giving Ashley the power. It was her job to say no,” said Chris to PEOPLE. “We don’t step in and say, “That’s the wrong decision.” We never do. She was privy to some of the information. I had many conversations with her about this and so did the producers but she defended him every step of the way. She never heeded any of the warning signs.”
Chris does make a valid point as Ashley was definitely warned beforehand that Bentley was only on the show to promote his business. Chris also goes on to add that perhaps the show would have stepped in had Bentley remained on much longer. Right. “We were only two weeks in and … I don’t know what steps we would have taken if this had gone on any longer or if we would have finally just shown her his interviews,” said Chris.
TELL US – THOUGHTS ON ASHLEY BEGGING BENTLEY TO RETURN? SHOULD ABC HAVE STEPPED IN TO WARN HER ABOUT HIM?
The 27-year-old dental student is back and ready to find love again after being dumped by Brad Womackon the last season of the Bachelor. Ashley should have no problem picking up the pieces with over 25 suitors vying for her love!
On the debut episode tonight, Ashley opens up to host Chris Harrison about her insecurities when she reveals her fear that the men will be disappointed when they learn she is the Bachelorette. Ashley also reveals she is already familiar with one of the contestants – Bentley Williams – whom a former “Bachelor” cast member has warned her is there for the wrong reasons.
And now that filming is complete, the important question is did Ashley find love? “All those questions are things you’ll have to tune in to find out,” was Ashley’s coy reply during a conference call with the press last week. “I will say I’m happy with the way things turned out with me, but you’ll have to tune in and see the rollercoaster,” she added.
Ashley also reveals the entire process was more difficult than she expected. “Going into it, I knew I would have a whole other set of hard times but I didn’t expect it to be as difficult as it was. I definitely learned a lot about myself. I guess I prefer to be on this side but it was not easy at times, that’s for sure,” she said.
As for her ex Brad, Ashley makes it clear she has definitely moved on from him. “I think Brad is a great guy but we both needed different things in our life,” said Ashley. She continued, “And especially after meeting all these men, I realized how Brad wasn’t the best fit for me and I wasn’t the best fit for Brad.”
The Bachelorette premieres tonight at 9/8c before moving to its regular timeslot of 8/7c.
TELL US – ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW SEASON? THOUGHTS ON TONIGHT’S PREMIERE?
Emily Calls It Quits. What Will Happen to Brad Woeisme?
In an absolutely unforeseeable, unpredictable, and downright shocking turn of events, it appears that two-time Bachelor star Brad Womack and his fiancée Emily Maynard have called it quits. Again. For good. This time. For real. Now, I realize that I really shouldn’t be surprised. After all, of all the seasons and all the engagements, the only couples who have made it down the aisle are Trista and Ryan Sutter, and that guy with the kid who dumped his original pick on live television to go for the runner-up. I kid, I kid…Jason and Molly Mesnick, such a cute couple. Not to mention, Brad doesn’t exactly have the most stellar track record–he didn’t even pick a lass his first time on the merry-go-round. I mean, the actual show dubbed him “The Most Hated Man in America” in an effort to hype his sophomore season.
According to Life & Style, Emily ended the relationship by phone on April 9th because her beau was “not acting like a fiancé, and she’s knows that he’s not going to change.” Sources add that Brad was far from the perfect fiance. He reportedly ignored Emily for days at a time, until she finally picked up the phone to tell him it was over. “Emily has spent nights alone in bed crying,” a source tells Life & Style. “[She was]waiting for Brad to call her back or pick up the phone when she’s called him.”
The article additionally claims that Brad made an offer on a house without even consulting his (much, much) better half, and that recent erratic behavior led Emily to believe that Brad may have been unfaithful. That erratic behavior includes Brad skipping out on trips to go visit Emily & her 5-year-0ld daughter Ricki in Charlotte. “He’s backed out of plans to come and visit her,” says a friend. “He’s even gotten drunk and canceled a flight at last minute.”
As Bachelor fans will certainly recall, Emily expressed concern about Brad’s temper to host Chris Harrison on After the Final Rose, even admitting the couple had split briefly after the filming commenced. OK Magazine also cited pressure to move to Texas and fit in with Brad’s lifestyle as a reason for the breakup.
So why only speculation at this point? Life & Style reports that Emily was contacted by ABC on April 13th with a friendly reminder of her binding contract not to disclose the details of their (now nonexistent?) relationship until ABC gives its permission. ABC is reportedly encouraging Emily to try to work things out with Brad, because they want Bachelor couples to make it down the aisle. Emily, who has stopped wearing her engagement ring, also explained to a friend that Brad is “insecure and not stable.” And she does not want to subject daughter Ricki to his nasty temper.
“She wants to be in a happy, healthy, loving relationship, and if she could make things work with Brad she would be ecstatic,” says the friend. “But for her daughter’s sake, Emily fears that she has to move on. She just doesn’t know what else to do.”
Not to bring up any sour grapes, but heck yes Brad wants to get married. We knew that before he’d picked Emily when the show was still in production…mainly we knew that when Brad’s former on-and-off girlfriend Laurel Kaygay went to US Weekly in February. Laurel revealed text messages Brad sent to her before he left to film the Bachelor, some imploring he’d like to marry her. I know, I know. “Consider the source!” you’re thinking. I’m just saying that maybe he does really want to get married…he just may not be concerned about the “to whom” part. Either way, current girlfriend Emily may be better off…
I (admittedly) watched this past season of the Bachelor religiously, and I really liked Emily. She seems like a down-to-earth chick who is not only making decisions for herself, but also considering what’s best for her young daughter, little Ricki. And honestly, if ABC plays its cards right, Brad could pull off the Triple Crown of Bachelor stints…seriously, girls who just want to be on television have done much crazier things for their fifteen minutes of fame.
TELL US – DID EMILY MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION IN DUMPING BRAD? DO YOU THINK BRAD IS A CHANGED MAN?
In Touch Weekly via the HollywoodLife is reporting that Brad is currently house hunting in Texas, wanting Emily to move in with him. “[Brad] looked at a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house house in a gated community in Meridian Park” reveals a source to In Touch.
It is however uncertain as to whether Emily is on the same page. “Her house isn’t for rent, her dogs just had puppies and Ricki’s in school. I don’t she’s planning on uprooting any time soon,” a neighbor of Emily says. But whatever their living conditions are, the couple is still together for the time being.
Meanwhile, Brad decided to delete his twitter page two weeks ago, just weeks after joining, which of course led to break up rumors. Emily however set the rumors straight telling a fan, “Honestly I think Brad is just too busy to be on Twitter and felt bad he couldn’t keep up with everyone. I was surprised he got it!”
Bachelor host Chris Harrison also adds that “Brad got on Twitter to shoot down crazy rumors, and kind of to defend himself, but Twitter became news and it became what he was trying to get away from.” Probably a better idea to try to keep their relationship as private as possible.
TELL US – SHOULD EMILY UPROOT TO TEXAS WITH DAUGHTER RICKI?
