I never thought I'd be so happy to write a post about past (or present) cast members of The Real Housewives of New Jersey! After weeks of non-stop crazy drama and endless posts about Atlanta and Beverly Hills, I'm thrilled to see these ladies! Yes, you read that right, THRILLED.
Caroline Manzo and her family and Jacqueline Laurita and her family (including kiddos C.J. and Nicholas) stepped out last night to attend "Ringling Bros." And "Barnum & Bailey" Presents "Legends" at Barclays Center in NYC.
Now that the RHONJ is no longer paying her mortgage,Jacqueline Laurita is selling her home!
The former Real Housewives of New Jersey star is listing the 5,7000 square-foot Franklin Lakes home for $2.85M. The couple, who almost lost the home to foreclosure last year, paid $1.72 million for the manor-style home in 2001.
Unfortunately for Jacqueline she is asking far more than the appraised value. The property is assessed for $2.2 M and carries a $34,000 PER YEAR property tax rate.
Reality TV stars and legal issues are like siamese twins! This year several stars dealt with legal problems from bankruptcies and foreclosures to lawsuits and arrests.
Without a doubt Real Housewives of New Jersey stars take the crown when it comes to most time spent in court – like a lot, a lot. But the ladies of Real Housewives of Orange County are not far behind them! Of course it wasn't just the Housewives who were getting hauled to court or busted by the IRS or mugshotted; several other shows represented well and held their own!
Below is the 2013 legal round up.
Above, Jenelle Evans confuses a jail cell with a spa and thinks it's a place you visit periodically to get away from it all! The Teen Mom 2 star, whose antics practically caused a cancelation for the show, racked up a whopping FIVE mugshots this year! #CheckMyCharges #GoogleMyMugshots
Last week Johnny Karagiorgis was threatening to sue Bravo and other Real Housewives of New Jersey cast members related to a brawl that took place at the Moxie Salon/Posche 2 opening. Johnny believed producers and cast members conspired against him to lure into a confrontation and that the fight was pre-meditated for a storyline.
On October 2nd Johnny and his wife Penny Karagiorgis officially filed a lawsuit in Hackensack, N.J! Named as defendants are Joe Gorga, Jacqueline Laurita, Chris Laurita, Sirens Media LLC (the producers of RHONJ), NBC Universal (Bravo's parent company), Bravo Media, and Moxie Salon. Kim DePaola is not specifically named as a defendant despite everyone claiming she orchestrated at least part of the set-up!
Johnny believes the incident was arranged to increase ratings. Jacqueline, on the other hand, denies any such incidents occurred!
Johnny was accused of spreading rumors about Melissa Gorga's allegedly nefarious past which caused Poison to flip his spray on hair'd top. He was also accused of making nasty comments about Jacqueline's son Nicholas, which caused Chris Laurita to leap into the wackin', crackin' crazy.
Unfortunately all is NOT said and done! Word just emerged that Johnny will file a civil suit against Bravo for their role in instigating the fight. “Johnny plans to file civil charges against every – all three of the people from the show, Bravo, NBC, the production company and the security teams that didn’t stop the physical violence from happening,” a source revealed to Radar Online.
According to North Jersey, a deal was brokered between the lawyers of the stars and Johnny Karagiorgis' attorney this week and part of that agreement was dropping the charges. A judge signed off on the deal in court this afternoon and ordered the charges dismissed.
For those not in the know, the co-stars were being charged with assault and making terroristic threats after the epic brawl at the Posche 2 grand opening party.
Jacs just Tweeted, "I don't know any man that would lie about a woman hitting him with a shoe! #neverhappened".
A Franklin Lakes man named Mark J. McGuire was arrested last week for fraudulently representing himself as Jacqueline and Chris Laurita's attorney!
The man in question, who was charged with unauthorized practice of law, spent 45 minutes posing as the Laurita's counsel while they were being interviewed by police over their participation in the Posche 2 Salon Brawl. You know the one where wackin' Jacqueline allegedly smacked 'Johnny The Greek' with her stiletto!
NorthJersey.com reports that the charges of assault and terroristic threats have been adjourned and will no longer go before a criminal court judge. Instead the trial will be heard in municipal court on September 26th.
The case against Johnny, filed as a result of charges being pressed by Jacqueline, Chris, and Joe, will also be adjourned and held in municipal court.
