To put it mildly, it is tough to be Ryan Lochte these days. Sure, he is a wealthy, Olympic medalist so life can be worse, but he has been through the ringer in the media. Everyone is disappointed in Ryan for lying about getting robbed at gunpoint, so wasn’t surprising that he joined Dancing With the Stars to rehab his tarnished image. Unfortunately for the swimmer, that’s not going well so far, since protesters rushed the stage during the premiere episode.
If anyone needs to be on this show, it’s Ryan Lochte. Undoing his poor reputation, is going to take a lot of effort and I’m not just talking about nailing his routines on the dance floor. This is going to be a rough road ahead if he survives elimination. No matter how you feel about the Olympian, you have to admit that it was probably scary to encounter those protesters.
Maksim revealed to Us Weekly about why he decided to return to DWTS after sitting out two seasons. “I was on tour with my brother Val this summer. I finished, dillydallied for a while, and I was like, “I want to move a little! So, short of taking f–king salsa lessons, I might as well go do Dancing With the Stars!” My tenure on DWTS was constantly tumultuous. There was always negativity. But this tour was a very cathartic experience. It focused on life through dance, how we got here. Things that bothered me before no longer did.”
“This fall, I was planning on being immersed in rehearsals for Singin’ in the Rain on Broadway, but due to successes of the shows currently running, that project has been delayed because there simply isn’t a theater available,” said Derek. “With my fall schedule freeing up I’m excited to say that I’ll be back on Dancing with the Stars for Season 23. It is always great to be back with my DWTS family, coaching, creating, and making lasting memories.”
On last night’s Little Women: LA, Briana Renee and Matt Ericson became the proud parents of new son, Maverick Jax. But Briana isn’t out of the woods yet. Her troubled pregnancy has left her exhausted and in need of some serious recovery time. Meanwhile, the 400 other pregnant women on this show are planning a Murder Party! Because someone must die at some point on LWLA, if only in theory. There will be blood.
Elena Gant and Terra Jole are at a Russian spa getting mud masks. Neither of them have heard from Briana since she fled her pre-pop party the day before. She was having pain and, at 35 weeks pregnant, she might have been going into pre-term labor. Why are these chicks worried? Briana communicates with NO ONE when she is in a crisis, so this is nothing new. Plus, Matt does not allow her to use her phone while she’s in the hospital or otherwise. Duh.
Terra Jole is not only the head sh*t stirrer on Little Women: LA, she’s the executive producer of multiple shows within the Little Women franchise and is poised to star in Season 23 of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. Besides that tiny matter of getting assault charges brought against her by LWLA costar Christy McGinity Gibel, Terra’s having a pretty good year!
New mom to second child, Grayson, Terra dishes on postpartum exhaustion, grueling dance workouts with DWTS partner Sasha Farber, and possible expansion of the Little Women franchise.
I never thought Dancing With The Stars would last for so long, but it really is a reality TV staple at this point. It has revived the careers of plenty of celebs and has turned the professional dancers into stars.
Cheryl Burke, Derek Hough, and Maks Chmerkovskiy have been around for a long time, and at this point, they are actually more famous than some of the “stars” they are dance with. Not only that, but there has been much gossip about all of them, including rumors of rivalries.
Fan favorite pros Cheryl Burke, Derek Hough, and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are all returning to the ballroom this season. About her return, Cheryl said, “I miss my family. It’s been three seasons. It feels like it’s been a decade since I’ve been back on Dancing with the Stars. I am so excited to be able to be back and dance with Ryan and put that spray tan and glitter back on. I’m ready to be back and do what I was born to do.” Check out the complete cast list below and let us know if you plan to watch.
Maksleft the show in season 18 after a difficult season and amid rumors that he was tired of favoritism on the show. His brother has consistently remained a pro and it is Val Chmerkovskiy whom we have to thank for convincing ‘The Hotness’ to make his comeback, and also for Maks being in the best shape of his life. C’mon Season 23 – get here quick for the shirtless Maks dances!
