I like watching the girls compete on Dance Moms, but Abby Lee Miller is the one who made the show worth watching. So I can’t help being curious about how Cheryl Burke will do now that she’s taking over for Abby. I’m sure she’s a nicer coach and way more enjoyable to be around.
Personally, I think the show would be great to watch if the trash talking between Abby and Cheryl was included in the episodes. These two have had a lot to say about each other in the press. As expected, Abby did not take too kindly to Cheryl describing the girls as “traumatized” thanks to Abby.
This week we find out a few critical pieces of news on Little Women: LA. Like the results of Terra Jole’s biopsy (she’s fine), and that Tonya Banks actually has an activewear line! But tempers flare when Tonya leaves Jasmine Sorge and Briana Renee off of the guest list of her fashion show. Because Briana is a MODEL in her own mind high demand, don’t ya know?!? Elena Gant and Terra also face off after Terra was last seen storming out of Elena’s baptism party. In short: Everyone screams at everyone. Welcome to another season of Little Women Who Loathe One Another!
We begin on the pier, where last week we saw Terra telling Tonya and Jasmine about her abnormal mammogram. Tonya tears up, then flies into anger about Terra not telling her earlier. Jasmine says nothing. Although Terra wanted to share the news with Elena as well, things between them are fractured since the godparent debacle. Jasmine’s advice: Talk to Elena. Soon.
Last night, Little Women: LA delved into some painful topics, namely Terra Jole getting frightening news that she may have breast cancer. Elena Gant also hosts a party after the baptism of her twin boys, at which Jasmine Sorge announces that she and her husband Chris, not Terra and Joe Gnoffo, were chosen as godparents to the little wee ones. Terra does NOT take the news well, to put it mildly. Meanwhile, Christy McGinity Gibel is busy navigating life with her overbearing mom and daughter as she prepares for Todd’s gastric sleeve surgery.
Tonya Banks – who’s still imagining that her activewear line is ready to launch – is out shopping for baptism clothes with Elena. When Elena reveals who she’s chosen as godparents, Tonya seems shocked. And caught in a bind, as she already spilled the beans to Terra that Elena was thinking of choosing her. Ruh-roh. Elena is adamant that Terra’s priorities aren’t straight enough to be a suitable godparent though, and that’s that. So – this should all go over swimmingly at Elena’s upcoming baptism party!
Terra confesses, “I’m truly crushed that my relationship with Elena has faded. In the episode, Elena mentions that after Dancing with the Stars, we never talked like we used to, but the phone lines work both ways. We are both to blame for our lack of communication, but conveniently Elena is upset that I’m not calling as much. This makes it easy for her to appoint someone else as a godparent.”
Sadly, last night’s Little Women: LA showcased a raw, painful time for Elena Gant, who flew to Russia after hearing the heartbreaking news that her father had unexpectedly passed away. In positive news, Terra Jole set aside the aftermath of their mini-feud to be there for her friend, hoping that Elena didn’t blame herself for not being able to be by her father’s side at the end. Back in LA, Terra tries to rally the troops to head to a women’s march, but Briana Renee decides not to go because she is a terrible example of female empowerment thinks Terra has ulterior motives. Meanwhile, Christy McGinity Gibel lone-wolfs it yet again as she looks into medical options for Todd’s weight loss.
Terra and Briana meet for tea, and to discuss manager-stealing. Briana denies shady doings, but Terra isn’t buying it. She would have given her manager’s number to Briana if she really wanted it, but going behind her back to hit him up was wrong. Briana wants to rebuild trust…but it’s Briana we’re talking about here. She and Matt Ericson [Grundhoffer] sit on a throne of lies. Briana does agree to attend a women’s march with Terra though. (Which she’ll back out of later.)
Even though Kyle Richards is a cast member in a reality TV franchise called Real Housewives, she is oddly in the minority since a lot of the stars in the franchise aren’t even wives. Kyle and Mauricio Umansky seem to have a very solid relationship and they’re not even annoying about it…. minus the constant plugs for The Agency that I could do without.
Kyle recently opened up about the very beginning of her relationship with her husband Mauricio, why she would never do Dancing With the Stars, and how she said no a million times to doing Celebrity Apprentice, but ended up caving to join the cast anyway.
I could never imagine being a dancer or mother on Dance Moms. Aside from not being able to dance and not having a kid, it seems like dealing with Abby Lee Miller would be a lot for any human being to handle.
As a viewer, I live for it every time Abby has a meltdown on screen, but I can see why the actual cast members would be happier now that Cheryl Burke is taking over. It seems like a logical fit since Cheryl is a skilled dancer/dance teacher who has reality TV experience from Dancing With the Stars. I’m curious about how entertaining the show will be since it’s obviously going to be way easier to get along with Cheryl in comparison to Abby.
