Nene seems to believe her stripper past has no reflection on her presence as an “Atlanta socialite,” saying, “What difference does it make if I danced or not?” she asks. “Is the sun going to stop shining? Is my past taking food out of your mouth?”
Nene proceeds to explain her reasons for stripping, “[I stripped] for the sake of my son, and to restore my confidence in myself,” she explains. “My son was in private school, his father wasn’t chipping in for pull-ups or food, I had no job and no money coming in, the rent was past due, and the super told me and my roommate that our condo owner was about to put us out. It was about survival.”
The ex-stripper, who referred to herself as Silk during her dancing days as a twentysomething year old – admits that she liked the power that came with being a stripper. “I could make $500 off one guy just by turning him on.” These men “were obviously there to see what I had, and I quickly realized that those men weren’t there to make me feel bad about myself.”
Interestingly, it has always been said that Nene’s husband, Gregg Leakes, met her at a strip club while she was working. Fellow castmate, Kim Zolciak was also outed has being a past stripper by her former publicist. My favorite part of this story is that she stripped to restore confidence in herself – brings out the lols.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, Danielle Staub’slife has been filled with controversy following the show’s first season. On a much brighter note, her daughter Christine Staub recently signed a modeling contract with IMG Models – the same agency that represents super models including Gisele Bunchen, Heidi Klum, Kate Moss and Taylor Momsen.
Though the15-year-old high school sophomore is taking test photos, she is expected to hit the catwalk as early as September during the New York Fashion week, according to IMG.
“She came into our offices and we were blown away!” Ivan Bart, SVP and Managing Director of IMG Models Worldwide, tellsPEOPLE. “She has an amazing amount of potential as a model. If we had seen her on the street we would have signed her on the spot.”
“This is all very new to me,” Christine told The Daily . “I’ve never really done any modeling before, so I’m just learning while I have a chance and being guided by the best in the business. I’m also getting used to industry people looking at my face so closely!”
We certainly hope that her life is nothing like her mother’s past. From watching the show, she seems like a smart young lady.
We reported a police report filed by Kim Zolciakof The Real Housewives of Atlanta, alleging that fellow castmate, Nene Leakes choked her during an argument. The choking incident allegedly took place back in April.
Nene however denied the accusation yesterday while out with New Jersey cast member Danielle Staub, at the gay club Barracuda in New York.
Kim is now fighting back in a new interview with RadarOnline. “NeNe’s a liar, and I have a police report to prove it,” said Kim. “Violence is not something I support or agree with. And she says she’s an advocate against domestic violence…what, is it a how to?”
“Well I have a police report and two witnesses…so nice try,” Kim told RadarOnline. “She definitely crossed the line. It’s one thing to call me names, but it’s another to put your hands on me. It was incredibly traumatic and I didn’t sleep for three days afterwards.”
A new episode of the Atlanta housewives airs tonight. Will watch to see if the previewed fight between Nene & Sheree versus Kim can top the catfight that took place last week involving party planner, Anthony Shorter, and Miss She by Sheree.
Andy wasted no time in asking The Real Housewives of New Jersey “star” about the infamous reunion incident which left Caroline Manzo in tears. Danielle claimed that just prior to the reunion show, she gave a phone number to the brother of a longtime friend … and that brother just happened to be Dina Manzo’s ex-husband. The reason being? It had something to do with contracts of the show according to Danielle.
Dina has admitted in a past interview that the tension between she and Danielle began over lawyer fees for their show’s negotiations. Dina hired a lawyer and wanted all the women to chip in so that they could all negotiate their contracts together for the show. Danielle declined saying she wanted to do her own negotiations.
Danielle went on to admit she regrets her actions saying, “It wasn’t my place to do so.” She also adds that she didn’t think it was a big enough deal to provoke Caroline’s reaction.
Other topics covered during the show included questions about her plastic surgery and sex tape. She denied ever having a brow lift, and claimed to be laying off on the botox for a while. When it came to the sex tape issue, she claimed to have been “set up.” She also denied the news of being a past escort.
I’m not really sure how one can be unaware that they are being taped with a cell phone camera while having sex, but umm sure Danielle. I’m sure she was set up the same way someone set her up to go on national television and ask her 46 26 year old boyfriend for public restroom sex.

As we reported earlier, Kelly has signed on for the 3rd season, but she is uncertain as to which other housewives will be returning. “I am coming back,” says Kelly. “But I actually don’t know who else is coming back. They don’t really tell me.”
Kelly is however uncertain is the new season will be able to match the drama of the other housewives’ franchises. “We start shooting in two weeks,” she said. “And it’s going to be interesting now because the bar is so high. When Gretchen [Rossi from The Real Housewives of Orange County] is getting a motorcycle at a party and Teresa [Giudice from The Real Housewives of New Jersey] is throwing over the table, what’s going to happen?”
She goes on to talk about The New Jersey Housewives – When I met Danielle, she said, ‘Thank you so much for being supportive of me. She was just really excited and flattered that I supported her. Unless you do something wrong to me, I will give you a chance.”
And what about Caroline Manzo? She’s “the all-time mama bear,” Kelly said. “And actually, she was really sweet and really nice.”
Kelly has also gotten close with some of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, “I was going down to Atlanta to open a hotel, so I called NeNe [Leakes],” Bensimon said. “I took out NeNe and Lisa [Wu Hartwell] and we had so much fun. They’re crazy, fun and spirited. They’re awesome girls.”
The contract information of The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast has been leaked and boy oh boy is it interesting. Popsquire was able to get their hands on the contract signed by one of the ladies, and here is a brief summary of what it entails -
Unlike most other reality shows, the contract does not require Bravo to pay the NJ ladies for their appearances.
In addition to receiving no compensation, they have to pay Bravo 10% of “any and all gross income…unrelated to the Series” that they earn for up to four years after the last episode of the series. (So I take it Bravo is earning 10% off the profits of Bethanny’s “Naturally Thin” book)
The producers did agree not to film the ladies engaging in any of the following conduct without prior approval: “(i) showering/bathing, (ii) urination/defecation, and (iii) engaging in actual sexually explicit conduct.”
Okay, so these women sign away their lives and even part of the earnings just to be on television? Fame is a helluva drug.
