Week 3 of Dancing With The Stars brought us some solid performances and great story telling.

Taking the lead this week for the first time this season is Olympic Ice Skater Evan Lysacek, who earned a score of 25 for his high energy quick step dance. Evan’s high score was all the more impressive considering he was dancing on two broken toes. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba called his dance “twinkling, athletic and energetic.”

Tying for second place were ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and PussyCat Doll Nicole Scherzinger. Both ladies received a 23 score for their dances. Erin vowed not to let the death threats get in the way of her dancing, and she had one of the most entertaining performances of the night when she did the waltz while blindfolded with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Carrie Ann called the dance “Breathtakingly artistic.”  Nicole also had a solid dance with partner Derek Hough, but the judges deducted points citing they broke two rules of the quick step.

The lowest score of the night once again went to 80 year old Buzz Aldrin, who was accused of just sort of walking through his dance. For the third week in a row, the second lowest score of the night went to Kate Gosselin, though her partner Tony Dovolani had predicted the “Paso Doble is going to be Kate’s best dance.” Kate received a poor 15 points for what Carrie Ann called an “odd” dance. It will be interesting to see if Kate will be saved once again when the results show airs tonight as 8 p.m. EST on ABC.

Kate was also shown having a small meltdown during one of her dance practices. The mom of eight just was shown crying for no reason in particular. However in a new interview with ABC, Kate reveals her reason for tearing up. “I had a little meltdown,” she said. “And I heard [my kids] upstairs. And I just started crying. And I was like, ‘I just miss my kids.’” Allrighty Kate.

The scores from last night are below -

Evan & Anna: 26
Erin & Maks: 23

Niecy & Louis: 21
Pamela & Damien: 21

Week 2 of Dancing With The Stars brought us some phenomenal dance moves but the topic on every one’s minds seems to be the drama involved with some of the dancing couples.

The most intense fight came from Kate Gosselin and her partner Tony Dovolani, who even threatened to quit during one of their rehearsals.  It all started when Kate complained that she was “stressed,” Tony then said, “Nothing in dancing is natural to Kate.”

“He feels like I undermine him as a teacher,” Kate, 34, snapped to the camera before telling Jon Tony, “You’re not taking into consideration how I learn!” Kate walked away saying, “I’m done, I’m done today.” Tony then removed his mic pack and said, “I quit!”  causing Kate to break down saying, “I don’t get it!”

Shortly after, Tony came back saying he overreacted, and the two made up. Kate then said, “A lot of people quit on me in my life.”  Tony has also said he regrets telling Kate he quit.

In other DWTS news, the highest score of the night went to Pussycat doll Nicole Scherzinger, who did a very impressive jive dance with partner Derek Hough, earning them the first 10s of the season.  The couple received an outstanding 28 points out of 30.

Coming in second was Olympic ice skater Evan Lysacek, who received a 24 score for his high energy jive with partner Anna Trebunskaya.

In third place was rumored couple Erin Andrews and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Their fluid foxtrot earned them a 23 point score and a compliment from judge Bruno, who said the ESPN reporter has “natural elegance.”

At the bottom this week was once again Kate Gosselin and Buzz Aldrin.  Kate earned a score of 15 as she looked extremely mortified and robotic while attempting to do the jive.  Buzz earned a score of 12 as his foxtrot failed to sizzle.

The scores for the 2 weeks combined is below -

Nicole & Derek: 53
Evan & Anna: 47
Erin & Maks: 44
Pam & Damien: 43
Jake & Chelsie: 40
Niecy & Louis: 39
Shannen & Mark: 38
Aiden & Edyta: 34
Chad & Cheryl: 34
Kate & Tony: 31
Buzz & Ashly: 26

TELL US – WHO DO YOU THINK WILL BE LEAVING THE SHOW TONIGHT?

Tonight brings us week 2 of the sizzling new season of Dancing With The Stars. As we reported last week, the premiere episode was the highest rated ever in DWTS history with over 23.9 million viewers.

So what can we expect in week 2? Well we have some news and updates below -

Kate Gosselin Turns 35 – Kate celebrated her 35th birthday on Sunday away from her eight kids, as she was in Los Angeles preparing for the show. When asked what she wished for on her birthday, Kate revealed it was to stay on DWTS and make it through the first elimination. “I hope I’m not one of the first to go,” said Kate to PEOPLE. “I really like it here. You become close to everybody so fast.” Kate might not get her wish as some are predicting she will be the first to go.

Erin Andrews Dating Maksim? - This was the big rumor/story that swept through the web last week. Many noticed the two seem to have some great chemistry on the show, and Maksim, 30, didn’t help put the rumors to rest when he answered “maybe” when asked if he and Erin were dating. Erin, 31, also gushed about Maksim, “I think its funny when you are paired up with a really attractive guy. You turn into a fifteen year-old and don’t know what to do,” Erin said, giggling, “he makes me nervous!” The two have been seen spending lots of time together outside of DWTS. Photos of the two are below.

Nicole and Derek Not DatingNicole Scherzinger ,who currently leads the show with the 25 points she earned last week, was also rumored to be getting hot and heavy with her dancing partner Derek Hough. Nicole however shut down the rumors saying she is dating Race car driver Louis Hamilton. The former Pussycat doll leader is still the favorite to win the show.

What To Expect Tonight – As for what is to come tonight, we can expect a foxtrot dance from Erin and Maksim. The duo will be dancing to Taylor Swift’s “Love Story,” which will not help put the dating rumors to rest. Kate Gosselin also reveals she will be doing the jive dance with partner Tony. Doing the jive as well will be Evan Lysaceck, who says “the jive is difficult, but it’s fun.”

Dancing With The Stars premiered last night on ABC, and while some stars sizzled, others were rather average, or downright bad.

The top score of the night went to Pop star Nicole Scherzinger and her partner Derek Hough , as the duo earned 25 points out of 30 from the judges by doing the waltz. Olympic champion figure skater Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya came in second with 23 points by also doing the waltz.

Nicole and Evan lived up to all expectations as the two were the early favorites going in. Now onto the bad, as reality star Kate Gosselin didn’t do so well. The mom of eight earned a poor 16 points for her waltz with partner Tony Dovolani, giving her one of the lowest scores of the night. “It looked like Tony was pushing a shopping cart across the floor. You have to exude something!” exclaimed judge Bruno Tonioli (ouch!).

Other reality star Jake Pavelka surprised judges with his Viennese waltz, earning an okay score of 20. The lowest score of the night went to 80 year old Buzz Aldrin, who received a 14 for his cha-cha. Buzz is the oldest contestant in the history of DWTS.

All of the stars will return next week for another performance. The first elimination will take place next Tuesday.
