Gosh, it seems like so long ago that the last season of The Biggest Loser concluded, and yet, fans still haven’t been given an update as to when the new season will begin. But while we may not have an actual air date (based on past runs, we are guessing after the new year), it looks like we’re finally getting some news about the show and what we can expect when the new season gets here.
First, we learned that Alison Sweeney would be stepping down as the host, and then it was announced that beloved trainer, Bob Harper, would be taking over the host position. We also know that both Dolvett Quince and Jen Widerstrom will be returning, and it looks like our favorite doctor, Dr. Huizenga, is also returning. What’s more is that Dr. H recently dished on the new season, and guess what? He revealed that there will be two celebrities contestants this season! Who could it be?

It seems like forever since the days of just Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels tackling the contestants of The Biggest Loser together, and since Jillian’s departure a few seasons back, we’ve seen many new faces fill the former trainer’s spot. But throughout all of the chaos and trainer changes, one staple has remained: Bob Harper – and honestly, I think most of us couldn’t picture the weight loss show without him.
Needless to say, when fans learned that host Alison Sweeney would be leaving the show, panic began to set in as to what Harper’s fate would be. Would he be the next leave? Thankfully, Harper is not leaving the show, but he is taking on a different role for the new season – as the new host! So, what exactly does that mean for the rest of the trainers?

Season 16 of The Biggest Loser will kick off in September – less one familiar face, Jillian Michaels, but plus two new faces, Jessie Pavelka and Jennifer Widerstrom.
Last week, NBC announced Jillian will not return to The Biggest Loser. "After helping hundreds of contestants transform their lives and inspiring millions of viewers at home, The Biggest Loser and Jillian Michaels have decided to part ways, and she will not be returning for Season 16 when it airs in the fall."
