The Bachelor fans no longer have to wait for ABC’s official announcement on October 13th as multiple sources are now confirming Jake Pavelka to be the next Bachelor!
Brittany Gammell, a Tenessee native — who says she’s been cast to be on the upcoming season of The Bachelor– tells Musiccitytv.com that indeed, Jake the Pilot is the new Bachelor.
“He’s pretty cute. I’ve seen he was on The Bachelorette. I’m not worried about that part,” said the 25-year-old Brittany, who adds that the taping of the show will begin Oct. 12 in L.A.
RealitySteve also believes Jake’s the new Bachelor, saying Kiptyn Locke was not a contender due to his non interest, leaving the final choice between Jake and Reid Rosenthal. He reveals that all signs point to Jake being the chosen one.
It’s a bit surprising to see Jake chosen as the new Bachelor, as I thought Reid was the favorite to win. ABC chose not to comment on this report, but one can’t help but wonder whether or not there will be any penalties levied against Brittany for revealing this information, if she is indeed a contestant. What she did is a huge no no, and she basically ruined ABC’s big surprise reveal on Dancing With The Stars’Oct. 13th episode.
Tell Us: Are You Happy With Jake as The New Bachelor?
Grammy award-winning singer, Macy Gray and partner Jonathan Roberts failed to make it to Week 2 of Dancing With The Stars. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Macy talks about what she takes away from her experience and who she thinks is going to win Season 9’s mirror-ball trophy.
Some say you weren’t that into the show in the first place. Have you gotten over the disappointment of being the first female off the show?
Not yet. I think there are different parts to disappointment, and I have a few more to get over, but then I’ll be okay. I was really, extremely disappointed, but at the same time, I think I’m going to be okay.
Was it harder than you expected?
No, because I thought we did good! I honestly don’t think we deserved the score that we got, and I thought we did really good. We were really pressed on time, but that’s not an excuse because we were ready, and I was actually really excited about coming back and doing better the next week. But it wasn’t meant to happen.
You mentioned that you did the show for your mom. Is she a big fan of the show?
I didn’t actually do it for her, but she’s the one that talked me into it. She always tells me to be adventurous and to try new things and grow and have fun. She just thought it would be good for me on a spiritual and mental [level], and would be another opportunity for a life lesson, and she was right. I learned a lot and I lost a ton of weight. I even learned a little bit about ballroom dancing.
The show’s producer, Mike Fleiss, had previously confirmed the next Bachelor would be one of the contestants from Jillian Harris‘s recent Bachelorette season, even narrowing the choices down to three men. “When the new season of The Bachelor premieres, look for Reid, Kiptyn or Jake to be handing out the red roses,” said Fleiss.
There are however rumblings that the new Bachelor could be a new contestant all together. Our previous polls showed a preference for Reid as the next Bachelor.
The new season of “The Bachelor” will premiere in early 2010; with all signs pointing to Monday, Jan. 4, though the actual premier date has yet to be confirmed.
The 16 contestants on Dancing With The Stars faced a double elimination during Wednesday’s show. The two couples with the lowest scores were automatically eliminated.
Singer Macy Gray and George Hamilton’s son, Ashley, were the first pair of contestants voted off this season of Dancing With The Stars.
“Ballroom isn’t my calling exactly,” Gray, a 42-year-old Grammy-winner, said. “But I learned a little bit.”
She later thanked everyone on her Twitter account: “Thank you to everybody who voted for us. Specially those who voted a buncha times, like my ma. Thank you thank you.”
Ashley, whose Monday’s foxtrot with sexy pro-dancer Edyta Sliwinska failed to inspire voters, was also gracious in defeat.
“It’s been a blast,” the 34-year-old said after his ouster. “I’ve had a great partner and it was a great experience.”
For more Dancing with the Stars, tune in to ABC on Mondays at 8/7c and Tuesdays at 9/8c.
UPDATE: Radaronline is reporting that Macy Gray blew off her Wednesday night appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live following her elimination because she was too upset. This seems to coincide with previous reports that said Macy Gray was being a ‘diva’ during rehearsals, and was very difficult to work with.
The 9th season of Dancing With The Stars premiers tonight on ABC and the stars may be feeling the pressure of a new scoring and elimination process. The premier week will feature three consecutive nights of dancing with the 16 couples performing two dance routines.
“We like to mix things up every now and again to keep the audience on their toes,” Dancing’s executive producer Conrad Greensays.
As usual, the judges will score each celebrity’s first dance of the night out of a possible 30 points. The second dance will be a relay in which each couple will dance for 30 seconds of a song. The couple with the lowest result will automatically go home, then the couple with the next two lowest results will dance off.
TMZ also reported some DWTS backstage gossip. Several sources have reported that Macy Gray is the most difficult star to work with on the show. As one source put it, “She doesn’t want to be there” and she has “regrets” she signed on. Another source says, she gets so frustrated and leaves rehearsal early. On another occasion, she refused to show up.
On the other hand, the worst dancer is said to be Ashley Hamilton, and is described as being very “painful to watch.”
According to TMZ, there are several contenders for best dancer. Donny Osmond, Aaron Carter, Chuck Liddell and Mya are all described as being very competitive and can bring it on the dance floor. And lastly, the most fun to watch is said to be the “Iron Chef” host Mark Dacascos by a mile. Not only is he entertaining to watch but he seems to be having a blast.
With less than one week to go before the season 9 premiere,Dancing with the Stars has suffered its first casualty, in former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay.
Tom injured himself during a rehearsal with pro dance partner Cheryl Burke. “Old age is catching up to me. May have a stress fracture in my foot. No worries, it’ll take more than that to keep me off the dance floor,” the Texas politician posted on Twitter Tuesday.
A DWTS rep confirms the injury to PEOPLE, saying DeLay is currently having his foot examined in Los Angeles. Doctors will determine if he can continue on the show, which kicks off Monday, Sept. 21 on ABC.
The injury is however not likely to restrict the politician from dancing on premier night as he twittered again on Tuesday afternoon, “No stress fracture. It’s a pre-stress fracture. I live for another day.”
People is also reporting that DWTS will honor Patrick Swayze on its Sept. 23 live results show.
Maksim, 29, posted on his Twitter Monday: “What was meant to be a ‘life long book’, turned into a ‘chapter’…….and now that ‘chapter’ is finished…… Se la vie…” The twitter status has been deleted as of Tuesday.
The professional dancing duo got engaged on New Year’s Eve 2008 — just six months after Karina, 31, split from Mario Lopez. They had planned on getting married in June 2010, but prolonged their engagement in July because of their busy Broadway schedules.
They will both be returning to DWTS when the new season returns to ABC Sept. 21. Maksim is paired with Entourage star Debi Mazar, and Karina with Aaron Carter.
This split seems rather sudden considering the couple was photographed holding hands a little over a week ago, on August 30th. The photo is below -
ABC has released the photos of the 16 contestants that will appear on this season’s Dancing With The Stars along their partners. The show, which premiers Monday, September 21 at 8/7c on ABC, will also have a few twists, including a double elimination on Sept. 23. We will definitely be watching.
