Ellen DeGeneres

It’s finally happening! Months after it was first reported that Bethenny Frankel had a talk show in the works, she has now began filming the pilot!

The HollywoodReporter reveals the Bethenny Ever After star began filming her yet to be titled talk show – which will be an advice-based show – earlier this month.

Sources also confirm that fellow Telepictures talk show host and producer Ellen DeGeneres is involved with the project. And while Bethenny has yet to officially confirm her new venture, she did drop a major hint a while back.

“I want to be on TV in a format where I can have a longer conversation with my fans rather than 140 characters on Twitter,” said Bethenny earlier this year. “It probably will be a talk show.” Another hint was also dropped during a recent appearance on The Ellen Show. “I’m working with you now,” Ellen said to Bethenny on her show.

It appears Bethenny is in good hands as Telepictures, an extension of Warner Bros., is responsible for other successful series such as The Tyra Banks Show, Lopez Tonight and Ellen. Bethenny’s show will include multiple segments according to a source, some of which have yet to be taped.

However, the show is still in the early stages right now, meaning a network will officially order it to series only if they like what they see with the pilot. If the show does get picked up, it will likely film in New York where Bethenny resides with her family. In addition to her talk show, Bethenny is also set to begin filming season 3 of her Bravo series next month.

Bethenny was pictured above on June 8 during the Forbes Celebrity 100 Event in which she was honored. Another photo below of Bethenny with Khloe Kardashian who won the Next Gen Entrepreneur award alongside her sisters.

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON BETHENNY’S TALK SHOW? EXCITED?

So much for that report claiming Nene Leakes and her latest nemesis Star Jones were trying to call a truce.

The verbal smackdown between the two Celebrity Apprentice stars continued this week as Nene visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show. When asked about her feelings on Star, the Nene called her a “disaster.”

“She is bossy, she is manipulative, conniving,” said Nene about herself Star. “And I’m not even being funny. I think that is real. I honestly think that is who she is.”

Ellen then asked if the NBC show accurately portrays the characters on the show. Nene replied, “I believe that you are. Big bossy Star. Laid back Nene. You are seeing all of that.”

Nene also stated she tried her best to get along with Star in the beginning. “I think she had preconceived notions of who she thought I was just from watching me on the ‘Housewives,’” said Nene. “I think she thought I was going to come in and take over. I tried to get to know her. Some people are difficult to get to know. She’s not the easiest person to get to know. She is a disaster.”

When asked if she was the only one who didn’t get along with Star, Nene told Ellen, “I don’t think anybody is getting along with Star. I don’t think she’s easy to get along with.” Seems like the Nene finally met her match.

As for Star’s response, she sent out the following tweets on Wednesday -

“I heard the “I hate Star Jones” fund got some more publicity today. LOL. Please send all checks to #AHA for #HeartHealth! #FocusOnAGoal”

“I REPEAT: If you LOVE me I’m always in your heart ; if you HATE me I’m always on your mind. Bless the miscellaneous…”

Meanwhile, we reported last week that Nene has been hanging out with Al Reynolds, Star’s ex-husband, and now a friend of Star’s tells Popeater how she really feels about that.

“Star thinks it’s pathetic that these two has-beens have teamed up together,” the friend tells Popeater. “Nene knows how much pain and hurt that man caused Star. For Nene to suddenly befriend him tells you exactly what sort of woman she really is.”

And finally, Nene spent some more time in California this week during which she hung out with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Kyle Richards and Taylor Amrstrong.

“My stomach hurts from laughing so much :o. U are beautiful and hilarious. Xoxo,” tweeted Kyle to Nene. “We laughed so much,” replied Nene.

Photos of the three housewives hanging tight below. We also have to wonder if there is trouble brewing for Kyle and Lisa Vanderpump’s friendship as the two have barely tweeted to each other in recent months. And while Kyle has been photographed filming numerous scenes with BFFs Faye Resnick and Taylor in the past 2 weeks for the show’s second season, she has yet to be seen filming with Lisa. Perhaps they’re just not as close as they used to be.

It seems Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Grammer is working overtime to redeem her public image after being deemed the most hated housewife ever.

The same day TMZ reported Camille’s actions to quit the hit show might simply be a tactic to force Bravo to give her a good edit on the upcoming reunion show, she gave two new interviews to both PEOPLE magazine and the Ellen DeGeneres Show. In her PEOPLE interview, Camille opens up about the backlash she has received since doing the show.

“It’s like a runaway train that’s out of control,” Camille, 42, says of the negative feedback. “I’m going through this divorce in my private life, and this on top of everything else has been really hurtful. I don’t know where it’s coming from.”

And when it comes to the 4 nannies for her two kids controversy, Camille claims it was all estranged husband Kelsey Grammer’s idea. “Even the nanny controversy, I have to laugh about it, because that was Kelsey’s decision to hire the four nannies. And I’m taking all this heat for it,” says Camille. “It’s almost as if, on the show, he had nothing to do with our life together. We were married! We made these decisions together.”

And in her interview with Ellen DeGeneres, scheduled to air today, Camille, who was shown kissing her married friend Nick Stabile on the lips on Thursday’s episode of the BH Housewives, reveals how she discovered Kelsey was cheating on her. And no, it wasn’t through her medium BFF pal Allison DuBois.

“A mutual friend called me and said, ‘I don’t like what he’s doing to you and I don’t like the timing because you’re still in the middle of shooting a reality show.’ And then I called him that night and texted him. No answer from him,” Camille recalls. “I waited for three hours and then he called me and said, ‘I don’t want to be married anymore.’” She adds that she and Kelsey no longer speak, but communicate through text and email.

When it comes to her costar Kyle Richards, who she has repeatedly butted heads with all season, Camille reveals she and Kyle are friends, and get this, she even “loves” Kyle.

“I love Kyle, we do get along,” Camille insists. “We are friends, believe it or not. But at times, you know, our personalities just clash. So there’s one day we love each other and we’re laughing and going to dinner, and then two days after, we’re fighting about something ridiculous.” Let’s hope Kyle got the friendship memo.

UPDATE – In the interview with Ellen, Camille adds that her only reason to do a 2nd season would be to redeem her image.”Right now, as everybody knows, I’m going through a divorce,” she says. “If I would do [another season], it would be to try to change my image – to try to change it around and have people see the other side of me that you don’t see on TV.”

MAJOR shake ups in the American Idol judging line up.  Ellen DeGeneres announced late yesterday that she has quit the show, after just a year.

In a statement released to multiple media outlets, Ellen stated, “A couple months ago, I let FOX and the American Idol producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next.”

Ellen, 52, replaced Paula Abdul as a judge for the show’s ninth season.  “It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for,” her statement continues, before adding that “it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings.”

The AI news did not end there as TMZ then confirmed this morning that fellow judge Kara DioGuardi has been fired, and that the show will be going back to a three-judge format.

And who will be replacing Ellen and Kara on the judging panel?  According to GossipCop and TMZ, it will be none other than Jennifer Lopez aka Jlo and rocker Steven Tyler.

GossipCop was the first to report the news, when they ran a story last night stating that American Idol had offered the two spots to both Jlo and Steven.

TMZ also confirmed this morning that assuming all deals are finalized, the judge’s panel will consist of Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. Adding that the only way Kara will get her job back is if Jlo rejects the offer.

American Idol is reportedly hoping to announce their new judging line up on Monday.

2010 American Idol Top 12 Girls

The top 12 ladies of American Idol performed live for the first time last night, and according to the critical judges, they mostly left a lot to be desired.

The show started with a noticeable change in the line-up of the judges, with Ellen DeGeneres now sitting furthest away from Simon Cowell. Ellen, in Ellen fashion, jokingly explained that she had to move away from Simon because he kept putting the moves on her.

When asked about the talent pool of the ladies by show host Ryan Seacrest, Simon responded, “Some are good. Some are not.” Interesting foreshadowing.

First up was Paige Miles who kicked off the competition with the Free classic “All Right Now.” She sounded just okay to me, and didn’t seem to have much of a stage presence, but she ended up receiving good praises from the judges.

Next up was Ashley Rodriguez who sang Leona Lewis’s “Happy,” and ended up getting trashed by the judges. Ashley likely received the worst criticism of the night, in a performance that didn’t seem that bad to me.

My favorite of the bunch, Didi Benami performed Ingrid Michaelson’s “The Way I Am,” which I believed was a perfect fit for her singing style. However the judges disagreed and said her performance was missing a spark.

One contestant who did seem to win over some of the judges was my second favorite, Crystal Bowersox, who sang a soulful rendition of Alanis Morissette’s “Hand in My Pocket.” “You were good tonight. I think you have greatness in you, though,” said Kara.

Last night’s episode reminded me of why I tend to stop watching Idol after the audition rounds. I can’t help but feel like the judges are somewhat too critical and go out of their way to find flaws in sometimes amazing performances. But then again, I’m no music expert but I find some of the critiques to be a bit ridic.

The top 12 boys will perform tonight, with the results show airing Thursday night.

Ever since news hit that shock jock radio host Howard Stern was in talks to replace Simon Cowell as a judge on American Idol, a lot of tongues have been wagging, with most people being not too keen on the idea.

Though Howard himself has revealed his interest to judge AI, current judge Kara DioGuardi doesn’t think he would make a good fit for the show.

“I don’t really know if I can even speak on it,” said Kara on the Howard rumor. But then she added: “I don’t know that [Stern] has a musical background,” she mused. “I think that if you’re gonna replace Simon, you have to have that background.”

Kara continued, “You have to have somebody who knows about signing great artists and being a part of their career from the very beginning to the very end… I think that’s probably a precursor for whoever takes that position if they’re not a big artist who’s been through it themselves.”

Kara however went on to sing praises of new judge Ellen DeGeneres, who has received rave reviews for her recent performance on judging Hollywood week. “Ellen brings a sense of humor, of course, but also I think she knows more about music than we think she does,” explained Kara.

“She had a really good handle on whether a contestant had potential,” DioGuardi added. And as for those pesky rumors that Simon and Ellen have been butting heads? “You have to take every rumor you hear about “American Idol” with a grain of salt,” she said. “They usually aren’t true.”

Ellen DeGeneres finally made her highly anticipated debut as a judge on American Idol.  Ellen, 52, made her debut alongside Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi on the Monday night Hollywood episode.

The TV Host brought her sense of humor into judging the contestants, telling Skiiboski, one of the more memorable contestants from the Idol audtions — “You frighten me,” she told him. “You were like a leopard behind a cage.” Ellen continued, “Sexy and scary — it’s a fine line.”

And so much for the alleged tension that has been reported between Ellen and fellow judge, Simon, as the two seemed to get along rather well last night, even joking with one another at times.

Ellen recently told Entertainment Tonight she is “getting good at delivering bad news” to Idol wannabes.  “I’m trying to do it in a tender way,” she says. “I hate hurting people’s feelings, so that, I think, is the hardest part.”

TELL US – THE QUESTION OF THE DAY IS DID YOU ENJOY ELLEN AS A NEW JUDGE? DID SHE DO WELL?

Could the Semifinalists of American Idol’s ninth season have been revealed? That answer is yes according to Joesplace, who has managed to correctly reveal the identities of American Idol’s semifinalists for the last two years. He has now released the alleged names of nearly all of the ninth-season’s Top 24 semifinalists.

Four of those alleged semifinalist include contestants — Katie Stevens, Tyler Grady, Ashley Rodriguez and Jermaine Sellers — whose auditions aired last week during American Idol’s two-night premiere, from Boston and Atlanta.

American Idol’s ninth-season Hollywood coverage which will feature the introduction of new judge Ellen DeGeneres, is set to officially begin airing on Tuesday, February 9, continuing into the following night.
