UsWeekly is reporting the newly single Emily, who recently confirmed her break up with Brad Womack, is angling to become the next Bachelorette just a month after splitting from Brad.
“She hasn’t officially signed on yet, but it looks like a done deal,” a source reveals. And despite Emily’s recent comments that appearing on the series was “the last thing on my mind,” the insider adds that Emily is hoping to use her stint on the show to jump-start a broadcast career… of course. “She wants to be famous,” the source says of the single mom to 6-year-old daughter Ricki.
And with the show ratings down about 10% this season with the boringAshley Hebert, ABC execs reportedly have high hopes for Emily: “They know she’s a fan favorite,” reveals a source.
In addition to boosting her profile, Emily is also reportedly ready to move on from her ex-fiance Brad. “He has issues, and you could tell from the start that it was never going to work with Emily,” another insider reveals. A pal however insists Emily “gave it everything she had.”
If Emily does indeed become the next Bachelorette, it is likely ABC will film her season right away instead of waiting until next year. Plus in looking at Ashley’s final four, none of the men really seem like Bachelor candidates.
TELL US – THOUGHTS ON EMILY BECOMING THE NEW BACHELORETTE? YAY? NAY?
A week after news broke that ABC is planning to air an interview with Emily Maynard discussing her breakup with Brad Womack, the two are opening up about just that in an all new interview.
The former Bachelor couple grace the latest issue of PEOPLE magazine in which they both discuss what led to the demise of their relationship. And unlike former couple Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi, the two keep things classy.
“We’re no longer engaged,” Emily, 25 tells PEOPLE. “This is my worst nightmare. I thought there was no way Brad and I wouldn’t work out.”
So what led to the breakup? Emily admits it was hard for Brad, 38, to understand her life as a single mom to 6-year-old daughter Ricky (she turned 6 today). “It’s hard to convey what it’s like to be a parent to somebody that has no idea,” Emily explains. “He didn’t understand why I couldn’t go on a random vacation the next day. It’s hard for me to say, ‘I am so tired, I want to go to bed at 8,’ and for him to understand.”
Another issue for the couple was Emily’s reluctance to pack up and move to Austin, TX with Ricky due to the on-again off-again type relationship. “I need stability,” Emily says. “I can’t just say I’ll figure it out when I get there. I didn’t feel it would be a good move to take my daughter away from her life for a guy I don’t know if it’s going to work out a month down the road.”
Brad also spoke to PEOPLE taking full blame for the failure of their relationship. “The demise of our relationship was completely my fault,” Brad says. “I gave Em every reason under the sun to get out much sooner than she did. She hung in there with me much, much longer than she should have.”
So now that she’s a single gal, can we expect to see Emily as the future Bachelorette? According to Emily, that answer is a no. “I’m just like any girl dealing with a heartbreak, the last thing on my mind is to do this all over again,” she says.
You can read more of Emily and Brad’s interview in the latest issue of PEOPLE. Emily’s ABC interview is set to air July 11th during the episode of the Bachelorette. Brad declined to sit for the TV interview.
TELL US – THOUGHTS ON BRAD & EMILY’S PEOPLE INTERVIEW?
Finally, the ABC network is getting ready to confirm the worst kept secret ever, which is thatBrad Womack and Emily Maynard have indeed broken up.
Following the airing of the Bachelor finale months ago, the couple had been plagued with break up rumors. However multiple media outlets reported the two ended things for good weeks ago.
Unfortunately for Brad, 38, and Emily, 25, they hadn’t been able to confirm the break-up publicly due to their ABC contracts that reportedly prohibits them from talking about it. That is now all about to change as Bachelor insider Reality Steve just broke the news that Emily is currently in Los Angeles getting ready to film a special with ABC to discuss the break-up.
RS adds that Brad will not be a part of the interview a la Jake & Vienna, because he declined to take part in it. The interview will take place in a closed set with host Chris Harrison during which Emily will talk about her and Brad’s relationship, revealing they have been broken up for a while now, and that she was the one who ended it with him.
Emily’s interview will air on July 11th during the last 10-15 minutes of the “Bachelorette” episode. In comparison, Jake and Vienna’s interview lasted close to 45 minutes.
TELL US – WILL YOU WATCH EMILY’S INTERVIEW? THOUGHTS ON BRAD DECLINING THE INTERVIEW?
Emily, 25, is finally breaking her silence as Life & Style magazine is reporting the former Bachelor winner told a reporter it was Brad, 38, who did the final dumping over the phone.
Emily spoke to the reporter on June 1 and confirmed that things are definitely over between her and Brad. “There’s nothing going on between us anymore,” she sadly admitted. “It’s over. He called me and broke up with me. That’s it — he ended the relationship.”
The duo were last seen together at the beginning of May in Texas in what appeared to be a final effort to save their relationship. “The last time we were together was when we said goodbye at the airport in Austin,” Emily confessed. “That was the last time I saw him.”
It appears Emily is speaking out to quiet down the rumors that she dumped Brad, was never in love with him, and only used him to try to become the next Bachelorette. As for the reason the former couple has yet to put out an official statement regarding the split, it might have to do with their contracts with the ABC network.
It’s been quite the “are they or aren’t they, will they or won’t they” relationship for two-time Bachelor contestant Brad Womack and his fiancee Emily Maynard. The most recent of the franchise’s manufactured relationships engagements has been in question for a while now, following speculation over the single mom’s relocation with her daughter to Austin, Texas, and accusations from Brad’s ex-girlfriend.
US Weekly is now reporting that Emily, 25, is the one who finally broke things off for good following a trip to Texas a few weeks ago. Sources say that the long distance relationship was too much for Emily, and she has no plans of uprooting her daughter Ricki from their home in Charlotte, North Carolina. I’d say that is probably a good idea, seeing as Brad’s attempts to woo back his fiancee involve drunk dialing her to profess his love. One source reveals, “Brad and Emily are over, and Brad keeps drunk-dialing her. [He] is such a loser.”
Recently, post-split, Emily has been seen sporting a bare left ring finger. While running errands last week near her home in Charlotte, Emily was spotted sans sparkler, leaving many wondering what became of the ring Brad proposed with on the show’s finale. A source close to the ABC hit divulges that Emily has returned to the ring to the network, adding, “It’s completely over now.”
With these two, it seems the writing has been on the wall for some time now, although I’m sure it won’t be the last we hear of Brad and Emily. Even with several insiders confirming the break-up, a source close to the couple still believes a happy ending is in store for the pair. The friend insists, “They are still together and engaged. They are on and off, but there is a lot of love there. This is just a rough patch.”
Luckily, while we hope they go away wait with baited breath to learn more about the couple, there is an entirely new crop of singles looking for love with Brad’s castoff Ashley Herbert on the newest installment of The Bachelorette. Perhaps the newly single Womack will make an appearance in “the most ridiculous rose ceremoney ever.”
TELL US – DO YOU BELIEVE THEY’RE OVER FOR GOOD? SURPRISED THEY DIDN’T LAST?
Are they or aren’t they? This seems to be the question concerning two-time BachelorBrad Womack, 38, who proposed to Emily Maynard, 25, in what was touted the most dramatic Bachelor proposal ever.
The couple has admittedly had several ups and downs, including a break-up which occurred before the pair appeared on ABC’s After the Final Rose, a night that ABC had hoped would be their actual wedding ceremony. It seems the network is hoping for another Bachelor “happily ever after” story, which are the glaring minority when it comes to the marriage (heck, even just relationship longevity) success rate of past seasons. Just last week, we reported that ABC was insisting suggesting the couple stay together and work on their relationship. It appears that ABC has gotten its wish.
The couple has not been photographed together in weeks, and most media outlets who reported the couple called it quits mid April had given up entirely on a reconciliation. However, Emily’s mother Susan Maynard, in an interview with People.com, reveals that all of the speculation is difficult to stomach. She tells People, “They have not officially broken up. It’s still kind of on and off.” Susan continues, “I hear nothing but good things about Brad. They are still just trying to get to know each other…My ex husband has met him and thinks he’s a very, very nice guy.”
And when asked about her granddaughter? Emily’s mother states that “[Little] Ricki seems to like him.” While I agree that this is all well and good, there is something a bit fishy about the fact that Emily’s mother has yet to meet Brad. I am not questioning the closeness between mother and daughter, as Susan had plans with her daughter and granddaughter for Easter weekend, but shouldn’t she have met her future-son-in-law by now? Susan Maynard does believe that both her daughter and Womack have the right intentions, but admits that she knows of no plans to uproot Ricki from her life in North Carolina to move to Texas.
The couple, who have been absent in paparazzi circles as of late, was spotted this past weekend getting cozy in Brad’s native Austin, Texas. Witnesses have given accounts to Us Magazine claiming the couple was seen Friday at Kona Grill and Saturday at Fado, a bar within walking distance of Brad’s condo. It is reported that both nights the pair looked happy, comfortable and at-ease with each other, even smiling and holding hands while posing for photographs with fans. In fact, Brad’s former girlfriend (yet another one?) from nine years ago (again, nine years?), Dayla Burkett, tells Us that she believes that Emily and Brad have what it takes to make their relationship work. She tells the magazine, “We speak all the time and he is a dear friend. Brad is a good guy and he is madly in love with Emily.”
It looks as though the couple is trying to work on their issues and strengthen their relationship. I am certain that things will work out the way they should, and I will refrain from adding my two cents. But I would love to know…what do you think about Brad and Emily rekindling the flame?
Emily Calls It Quits. What Will Happen to Brad Woeisme?
In an absolutely unforeseeable, unpredictable, and downright shocking turn of events, it appears that two-time Bachelor star Brad Womack and his fiancée Emily Maynard have called it quits. Again. For good. This time. For real. Now, I realize that I really shouldn’t be surprised. After all, of all the seasons and all the engagements, the only couples who have made it down the aisle are Trista and Ryan Sutter, and that guy with the kid who dumped his original pick on live television to go for the runner-up. I kid, I kid…Jason and Molly Mesnick, such a cute couple. Not to mention, Brad doesn’t exactly have the most stellar track record–he didn’t even pick a lass his first time on the merry-go-round. I mean, the actual show dubbed him “The Most Hated Man in America” in an effort to hype his sophomore season.
According to Life & Style, Emily ended the relationship by phone on April 9th because her beau was “not acting like a fiancé, and she’s knows that he’s not going to change.” Sources add that Brad was far from the perfect fiance. He reportedly ignored Emily for days at a time, until she finally picked up the phone to tell him it was over. “Emily has spent nights alone in bed crying,” a source tells Life & Style. “[She was]waiting for Brad to call her back or pick up the phone when she’s called him.”
The article additionally claims that Brad made an offer on a house without even consulting his (much, much) better half, and that recent erratic behavior led Emily to believe that Brad may have been unfaithful. That erratic behavior includes Brad skipping out on trips to go visit Emily & her 5-year-0ld daughter Ricki in Charlotte. “He’s backed out of plans to come and visit her,” says a friend. “He’s even gotten drunk and canceled a flight at last minute.”
As Bachelor fans will certainly recall, Emily expressed concern about Brad’s temper to host Chris Harrison on After the Final Rose, even admitting the couple had split briefly after the filming commenced. OK Magazine also cited pressure to move to Texas and fit in with Brad’s lifestyle as a reason for the breakup.
So why only speculation at this point? Life & Style reports that Emily was contacted by ABC on April 13th with a friendly reminder of her binding contract not to disclose the details of their (now nonexistent?) relationship until ABC gives its permission. ABC is reportedly encouraging Emily to try to work things out with Brad, because they want Bachelor couples to make it down the aisle. Emily, who has stopped wearing her engagement ring, also explained to a friend that Brad is “insecure and not stable.” And she does not want to subject daughter Ricki to his nasty temper.
“She wants to be in a happy, healthy, loving relationship, and if she could make things work with Brad she would be ecstatic,” says the friend. “But for her daughter’s sake, Emily fears that she has to move on. She just doesn’t know what else to do.”
Not to bring up any sour grapes, but heck yes Brad wants to get married. We knew that before he’d picked Emily when the show was still in production…mainly we knew that when Brad’s former on-and-off girlfriend Laurel Kaygay went to US Weekly in February. Laurel revealed text messages Brad sent to her before he left to film the Bachelor, some imploring he’d like to marry her. I know, I know. “Consider the source!” you’re thinking. I’m just saying that maybe he does really want to get married…he just may not be concerned about the “to whom” part. Either way, current girlfriend Emily may be better off…
I (admittedly) watched this past season of the Bachelor religiously, and I really liked Emily. She seems like a down-to-earth chick who is not only making decisions for herself, but also considering what’s best for her young daughter, little Ricki. And honestly, if ABC plays its cards right, Brad could pull off the Triple Crown of Bachelor stints…seriously, girls who just want to be on television have done much crazier things for their fifteen minutes of fame.
TELL US – DID EMILY MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION IN DUMPING BRAD? DO YOU THINK BRAD IS A CHANGED MAN?
According to PEOPLE, both Ali and her fiance Roberto Martinez (yes they are still shockingly together) were both involved in the mishap. “Ali and Roberto had a little mishap when their kayak capsized this weekend,” her rep confirms. “Ali was taken to the hospital and had five staples put in her head.”
Meanwhile, Ali tweeted about the accident. “Made it out of the ER w/staples in my head & a little less hair after falling out of a kayak. Scary stuff. Wearing a helmet next time,” she wrote later adding that she was more concerned with her mane “I think I freaked out more when the doctor cut my hair rather than when he put staples into my head. Lol. Very thankful to be ok.”
As for Roberto, he is fine with Ali’s rep crediting him for keeping “her calm” and taking “great care of her.” Ali is said to be “doing fine” as well.
PEOPLE also adds that Ali is currently planning her wedding to Roberto. The two have been together for close to a year, equivalent to about a decade in Bachelor years.
And speaking of theBachelor, weeks after it was reported that Brad Womackwas house hunting in Texas and wanted his fiance Emily Maynard to move in with him, a new report is now stating the two have broken up again and this time for good.
According to the Rumorfix, Brad and Emily are done and the break-up occurred early last week. The reason for the break-up? “Emily couldn’t put up with his little temper and all the fighting,” says a source. Brad’s ex-girlfriend Laurel Kagay had accused him of having a volatile temper and repeatedly breaking up with her only to get back together days later.
“They always were pretty on-again-off-again, but this time it’s a done deal,” the insider says. Adding more fuel to the fire is the fact that the couple hasn’t been photographed together since March 27.
The Bachelor producers are reportedly aware of the split and are now trying to come up with a plan for damage control. We’re guessing a ratings bonanza via a break-up sit down special with the two is in the works.
