There are six couples remaining on Dancing With The Stars and judging from last night’s show, any couple can be eliminated tonight as only 5 points seperates the first and last place couple.

The night began with Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the duo earned a score of 27 (their highest yet) for their well praised quickstep dance. Also receiving a 27 score was Pussycat doll Nicole Scherzinger and partner Derek Hough for their pure Waltz.

Shirtless Maksim dwts119788_8055

With or without Kate Gosselin, the show must go on and it did on the latest episode of Dancing With The Stars.

The stars danced on Monday night to either the Argentine tango or the samba, concluding the night with a first ever three minute swing marathon.  Coming in first place for the second week in a row was Nicole Scherzinger and her partner Derek Hough. The duo received a score of 26 for their sizzling samba.  A score of 10 for their swing marathon put them at the top of the leaderboard with a total of 36.

Coming in second place for the first time ever was ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who thankfully ended up shirtless by the end of a hot and sexy samba dance. “You nailed it!” applauded judge Carrie Ann.  The dancing couple received their best score yet of the season, a 25. Coming in second place at the swing marathon contest gave them a total score of 34.

Surprisingly coming in 5th place this week was Evan Lysacek, who’s samba dance failed to impress the judges.  Evan, who has been in the top two the entire season, received a score of 21 for what the judges called his “worst dance” yet.  Coming in 5th place during the swing marathon put him at a total of 27.

In last place this week was the Bachelor’s Jake Pavelka, who received a score of 21 for his samba dance.  Jake, who was the first eliminated in the swing competition, ended the night with a total score of 25.  Another couple will be given the boot in the results show tonight.

With loss of their most controversial contestant ever, Kate Gosselin that is, the show must go on during tonight’s episode of Dancing With The Stars.

So what can we expect from week 6? Well the seven remaining celebrities, actress Pamela Anderson, ESPN anchor Erin Andrews, Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek, comedienne Niecy Nash, NFL player Chad Ochocinco, Bachelor Jake Pavelka and pop singer Nicole Scherzinger, will be dancing to either the Argentine tango or the samba.

Erin, Evan, Jake and Nicole will perform the samba, while Pamela, Niecy and Chad will dance the Argentine tango.  All the couples will then take place in a swing marathon as well.

DWTS has experienced its highest ratings ever this season, even beating out the widely popular American Idol on more than one occasion. However, with the departure of Kate Gosselin, the question on everyone’s minds seems to be will the ratings take a hit? Only time will tell.

Speaking of Kate, there’s a new story claiming that most of the DWTS cast was glad to see her leave. According to E! Online, Kate was not fun to be on the set and even made demands such as asking crew members not to look at her, thus her recent elimination leaving everyone happy.  “Everyone couldn’t be more relieved,” says a show insider. “We all had to walk on eggshells around [Kate]. At least we don’t have to worry about where our eyes can or can’t drift off to now.”

The source continues, “Kate just thought that everyone was out to get her.  That’s why she had all of those crazy rules, like how she was to be approached.”  Adds the source, “She was not an easy person to work with.”

The eight remaining couples of Dancing With The Stars hit the stage Monday night during a special ‘Moving Night’ edition of the hit show.

Coming in first place was Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough’s Pretty Woman-inspired tango. The duo received a standing ovation from the crowd to go along with their almost perfect score of 29. Judge Len called it “the best dance of the season so far.” Carrie Ann Inaba added, “Every moment, you could have taken a snapshot and it would have just been art.”

Olympic ice skater Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya found themselves in second place this week, ending their two consecutive weeks at the top. They received a high score of 27 for their rumba dance to “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing,” from Armageddon.

Jake Pavelka found himself in 3rd place for the first time this season with the 23 score he received for donning his tighty whiteys while dancing the cha-cha to “Old Time Rock & Roll” from Risky Business. In fourth place was Erin Andrews and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The duo received a score of 22 for their Pulp Fiction dance. Perhaps it’s just me, but I thought they performed better than a 22.

In last place for the second straight week was reality mom Kate Gosselin, who seemed to take a few step backwards after receiving the Judges’ praises for her performance last week. Kate was shown once again in rehearsals bitching at questioning her partner Tony Dovolani every step of the way. She looked to be taking a stroll rather than dancing as she attempted to fox trot to the Breakfast Club movie. Kate deservedly received harsh criticism for the judges. Bruno called the performance “catatonic.” He added, “Tony could have gotten more life out of a frock on a coat hanger.” Ouch.

The scores from last night below -

Nicole & Derek: 29
Evan & Anna: 27
Jake & Chelsie: 23
Erin & Maks: 22
Pam & Damien: 21
Chad & Cheryl: 18
Niecy & Louis: 18
Kate & Tony: 15

Tonight brings us the fifth week of Dancing With The Stars. Another rumored couple Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke will perform a Quickstep to The Bare Necessities” from The Jungle Book.

The fourth week of Dancing With The Stars aired last night and the good news for Kate Gosselin was that she actually gave a good performance. The bad news? Even when she’s good, she’s bad. The Jon & Kate Plus 8 mom still managed to come in last place despite getting good reviews from the judges.

Kate appeared on the Today Show this morning and spoke out on Jon Gosselin’s attempt to get custody of their eight children. “I’ve got to work harder now than ever because I am a single mom,” said Kate, 35, in response to being called an absentee mom by Jon. “In my heart I’m always in my kitchen, baking and cooking for my kids, and I’ll always be there. It’s a struggle to be here [in New York], to be anywhere. The emotion that you see is because I would rather be at home with them.”

However that is not always possible according to Kate, “I have to work. I have to provide for them. And it’s a struggle that every working mom, especially single moms, go through, and I’m really feeling it now, and it’s really hard.”

Now back to DWTS, Olympic skater Evan Lysacek took the lead once again by earning a high score of 52 points for his hot tango with partner Anna. Coming in second this week for the 2nd week in a row was Pussycat doll Nicole Scherzinger who did a sensual rumba with Derek, earning 50 points.

Moving into third place this week was Pamela Anderson, earning a good 47 points for her steamy rumba with partner Damian. Sliding down to fifth place this week was surprisingly Erin Andrews and partner Maksim. The duo received a score of 39 for their tango with the judges feeling that Erin was payed too much attention to her technique, and not enough to the performance.

At the bottom two this week were Aiden Turner and Kate Gosselin. Soap star Aiden earned 33 points for what the judges called a stiff rumba, while Kate, despite getting praises from the judges for her best dance this season, earned 32 points out of 60. Bruno called her dance a “mini breakthrough” and “a step in the right direction.”

The full scores are below -

Evan & Anna: 52
Nicole & Derek: 50
Pamela & Damien: 47
Chad & Cheryl: 44
Erin & Maks: 39
Jake & Chelsie: 38
Niecy & Louis: 36
Aiden & Edyta: 33
Kate & Tony: 32

So who will be going home tonight? Well according to our poll from yesterday, The Bachelor’s Jake Pavelka and Aiden Turner are in danger, as they both received the least number of votes. Week 3 of Dancing With The Stars brought us some solid performances and great story telling.

Taking the lead this week for the first time this season is Olympic Ice Skater Evan Lysacek, who earned a score of 25 for his high energy quick step dance. Evan’s high score was all the more impressive considering he was dancing on two broken toes. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba called his dance “twinkling, athletic and energetic.”

Tying for second place were ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and PussyCat Doll Nicole Scherzinger. Both ladies received a 23 score for their dances. Erin vowed not to let the death threats get in the way of her dancing, and she had one of the most entertaining performances of the night when she did the waltz while blindfolded with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Carrie Ann called the dance “Breathtakingly artistic.”  Nicole also had a solid dance with partner Derek Hough, but the judges deducted points citing they broke two rules of the quick step.

The lowest score of the night once again went to 80 year old Buzz Aldrin, who was accused of just sort of walking through his dance. For the third week in a row, the second lowest score of the night went to Kate Gosselin, though her partner Tony Dovolani had predicted the “Paso Doble is going to be Kate’s best dance.” Kate received a poor 15 points for what Carrie Ann called an “odd” dance. It will be interesting to see if Kate will be saved once again when the results show airs tonight as 8 p.m. EST on ABC.

Kate was also shown having a small meltdown during one of her dance practices. The mom of eight just was shown crying for no reason in particular. However in a new interview with ABC, Kate reveals her reason for tearing up. “I had a little meltdown,” she said. “And I heard [my kids] upstairs. And I just started crying. And I was like, ‘I just miss my kids.’” Allrighty Kate.

TELL US – WHO DO YOU PREDICT WILL GET THE BOOT TONIGHT?

dwts-erin-maks

Tonight marks the 3rd week of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. In what is being called the best season yet, the stars will not only have to dance tonight, but their dance will also have to tell a story.

The latest news and updates bel0w -

Erin Andrews Death Threats – It seems Erin Andrews cannot catch a break. Just weeks after her stalker was sentenced to over 2 years in prison, the ESPN reporter is now having to deal with another nut. TMZ broke the story on Friday that Erin had been the recipient of several death threats. The threats, which started out as sexual, apparently turned violent a few months ago. The emails which started late last year, were being sent to the Dan Patrick Show. Erin and her lawyer were however just notified last week. The good news is that the FBI knows the identity of the man, and security has been provided for Erin and her family. Erin has vowed to keep on dancing, telling PEOPLE, “I’m glad I’m here. I have a dance on Monday and I don’t want to let Maks down, I don’t want to let my family down, and I don’t want to let myself down,” she says. “I’m not going to stop living my life.”

Evan Lysacek Injury – It also came out this week that Olympic Ice Skater Evan Lysacek is injured with two broken toes. Evan however vows to not let the injury get in the way of his quickstep dance tonight. “As for my toes, I’m not worried. I will tape them up and hit the floor with the same 100 percent effort I give in training. I will not let them steal my thunder! A little pain won’t keep me off the ice, nor will it keep me off the dance floor,” said Evan.

Kate Gosselin’s Best Dance?Kate Gosselin’s partner Tony Dovolani is making a big prediction for tonight. The professional dancer is predicting tonight will be Kate’s best ever. “Paso Doble is going to be Kate’s best dance :)” Tony, 37, tweeted on Saturday.  Then again, this shouldn’t be a difficult task to accomplish considering Kate has received the second lowest scores for her two previous dances.

In other DWTS, country star Reba McEntire will be performing on Tuesday’s result show. Pamela Anderson, who was in the bottom two last week, is said to be getting a bit of help this week. The former Baywatch babe has been getting some help from Spanish born entertainer Charo according to UsWeekly. We will get to see the results of that combo tonight.
