The American idol judges and host are finalizing contract negotiations before the show returns for the ninth season. Ryan Seacrest recently renewed his contract for three years, a $45 million deal to continue as host, perhaps making him the highest paid host in the history of reality tv.  Randy Jackson also signed on through 2011 while Kara DioGuardi has expressed interest to return. Though Simon Cowell will return for another season, his long term future on AI remains uncertain.

There were several reports that Paula Abdul will be returning to the show, however Paula’s manager is not certain of her return since the producers are not agreeing to their demands.

“Very sadly, it does not appear that she’s going to be back on Idol,” Abdul’s manager, David Sonenberg, who has yet to receive a proposal for her return, told The Los Angeles Times.

According to Sonenberg, who began managing the star in June, he told the network Abdul would “love to be on the show,” but is yet to get a response from the producers.

“She’s not a happy camper as a result of what’s going on. She’s hurt. She’s angry,” Sonenberg said. “I think at this point we’re going to be considering everything, including some kind of a competition show. She has tremendous ideas for a whole variety of shows.”

more-to-love-luke-conley Fox has announced Luke Conley, as the “husky hunk”  bachelor who will star on their new dating show focusing on full figured women.

Luke will choose from 20 full-figured females and (hopefully) find the right woman on More to Love, a new dating competition airing on Fox this summer.

The 26-year-old former college football player turned successful real estate investor, Conley stands 6-foot-3 and weighs “over 300 pounds,” says Fox’s press release. Conley claims he is looking for a woman who is “intelligent, passionate, down-to-earth, full-figured and comfortable in her own skin.”

The ladies Luke will have to pick from seem to differ in a lot of aspects. With careers ranging from a plus-sized model to lawyer to yes, an actual rocket scientist, each of the 20 females seems unique.

More to Love, hosted by full-figured supermodel Emme, is set to premier Tuesday, July 28, at 9 pm/ET.

Daisy-of-love-fox-Daniel-Alfonso

Fox aka Daniel Alfonso was eliminated from VH1′s Daisy of Love last Sunday. Fox’s elimination came due to the fact that he had a girlfriend, and lied about having the girlfriend. In this new interview with VH1, Fox talks about his feelings for Daisy, and his regrets about lying.

Below are excerpts from the interview -

How was your time on the show?

It was a bittersweet experience. I was excited to be on the show. Watching Rock of Love in the beginning, you know, seeing Daisy, I just thought I could relate to her. I couldn’t wait to meet her ’cause there would be fireworks.

It must have been flattering to being named Fox on account being good-looking.

I assumed it was because I was quick and sly. Maybe she liked my fox tail.

Sure. Was there anything about the way that that played out on TV that we didn’t get to see?

Relationships are never black and white. By the end of the day, she wasn’t the one for me. I had to do what I had to do. I met Daisy before Daisy of Love at a club in San Jose. I went to that club specifically for her. And right when I made eye contact with her, I hung out for a little moment and I locked lips with her and I felt the spark and that’s when I knew I wanted to fight for her love.

Did she remember you once she saw you on the show?

Yes, she did. I’m pretty sure she did.

Were you worried about the physical threat of having the whole house turn against you?

To be honest with you, I was really f***ing belligerently drunk. I was hammered at that time. I was numb. My brain was Jell-O. But if I was sober in that situation I definitely would have handled it differently.

idol_02-judges-wall_0045_1 It seems all four American Idol judges will be returning for season 9 after all. According to RadarOnline.com, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi will be returning to the next season of American Idol despite initial rumors surrounding the show.

Since Abdul’s contract was up, there were speculations of her not returning to the show and that Kara may not return since she only signed a one year contract. Having four judges seemed to be problematic for the live show because it slowed down the pacing says Abdul and Cowell.

Timing issues will be addressed on the next season. At the moment, Abdul and Dioguardi are still in negotiations though sources believe the contracts will be finalized in a few weeks. Sources also believe a formal announcement will be made in a few weeks.

kris-allen-ai

Fox network, along with American Idol producers have come out swinging against new reports that the AI finale voting was rigged.

If you haven’t heard by now, the NY Times reported that AT&T provided phones for free text-messaging services at two Allen parties in Arkansas on the night of the finals. Citing sources, The Times reports that AT&T reps showed party-goers how to “power text” – cast 10 votes at the touch of a button, which violates show rules.

So basically we are all suppose to get all up in arms over what amounts to probably about a few hundred votes or less than .000000001% of the total votes? Newsflash to NY Times, the total votes from the Idol finale amounted to tens of millions. And numerous reports have pointed out that the voting was not even close at all. Kris Allen won by a large margin, thus making these reports even more ridiculous.

The full statement given by Fox and AI producers is below -

“Fox and the producers of American Idol are absolutely certain that the results of this competition are fair, accurate and verified. Kris Allen is, without a doubt, the American Idol. We have an independent third-party monitoring procedure in place to ensure the integrity of the voting process. In no way did any individuals unfairly influence the outcome of the competition.”

daisy-of-love-cast

The show VH1 has been buzzing about for what seems like forever, Daisy of Love is finally set to premier tonight at 9:oopm Eastern time.

You can see the official cast photos here, and other random photos of the cast here. I have no spoilers, but I’m thinking Fox and Big Rig will go pretty far judging from the previews.

Who’s your favorite to win Daisy’s heart?

Ok Magazine is reporting that the two female judges on American Idol, Kara DioGuardi and Paula Abdul are alledgedly at war with each other. And their tension is all stemming from the fact that they are both in danger of losing their jobs next season.

“The plan to add a fourth person backfired,” an Idol insider told OK! about the troubles that have been mounting since Kara joined the cast at the beginning of this season. “Now the producers are left with a tough decision: Do they go back to the original three-judge format, or leave Kara there?”

Paula had previously taken a snipe at Kara when she talked to OK in January saying, “Kara and I get along great and have known each other for years, but we tried four judges before when we had celebrity guest judges sitting in, and it just doesn’t work.” Kara hit back in a statement: “Paula has a right to her opinions, but I was disappointed by her comments and hurt that she did not address them to me in person.”

simon-cowell

In a new interview with the U.K. Mirror, American Idol’s Simon Cowell hinted that he may be leaving the show after this season. Why? The sharp-tongued judge, 49, says he is getting tired of traveling for his three TV shows — and Idol would be the first to go.

“I don’t want to come over as whiney because I am very grateful that I have got these jobs,” says Cowell, who also hosts U.K.’s The X-Factor and Britain’s Got Talent. “But there is a point where I am not sure we can keep this schedule up.”

“It takes longer and longer to make these shows because you have to put more into them, and I am not sure we can sustain me doing three shows a year, with the record label and the TV production company,” he goes on.

He says he “can’t imagine not doing Britain’s Got Talent and I can’t imagine not doing X-Factor. But I guess America is more likely to go because I have got one year under contract. Maybe that will be the end.”
