Good news for ABC! Their decision to thrown in one or two random controversial reality stars in the mix of their new season of Dancing With The Stars is drastically paying off.

Monday night’s premiere episode was the highest rated episode ever for the DWTS series. The two hour debut averaged over 23.9 million total viewers. This is a drastic increase compared to the 17.5 million viewers that watched last season’s debut.

And for those who missed the premiere episode, ABC has decided to rebroadcast it this Saturday at 8:00/7:00c.

In other DWTS news, Kate Gosselin continues to be the center of negative media attention. First, UsWeekly posted a story stating that the Jon & Kate Plus 8 mom was a total nervous wreck backstage. Kate, who scored the night’s third lowest score looked “so nervous the entire time,” reveals an onlooker.

A dancing expert also reveals to UsWeekly that Kate will likely be the first one voted off. The NYPost is also reporting that Kate continues to be a diva on the set of the show, and that she is always late for hair and makeup.

“The staff has warned her and lectured her about being late, but Kate just gets angry and blows them off,” says the source. “No one wants to deal with her.”

UsWeekly also reports that though The Bachelor’s Vienna Girardi sat in the audience with fiance Jake Pavelka‘s parents, she paid zero attention to them. “They did not speak at all or interact — it was very noticeable to me,” says a witness.

Also sitting with Vienna was former Bachelor contestant Gia Allemand, whom Vienna chatted with all night.

This season of The Bachelor has been rather dramatic with last night being the most dramatic episode yet. Contestant Ali Fedotowsky mulled over the difficult decision of having to pick between her dream guy and her dream job.

The 25-year-old advertising accounts manager — who works for Facebook — decided to quit the show leaving Jake Pavelka “heartbroken.” It seemed Ali wanted some sort of guarantee from Jake that she would be the last woman standing, Jake ofcourse could not give her that assurance, hence she decided to leave.

Jake, 32, will now have to pick between the three remaining contestants: Vienna Girardi, Tenley Molzahn and Gia Allemand. The finale airs Monday, March 1 on ABC.

Fans were shocked to see Ali leave so abruptly, but even more shocked was Jake, who shared his thoughts on his PEOPLE blog today. Excerpts from Jake’s blog below -

“After visiting all the families, I felt really good about where I was in this journey. Then I got back to L.A. and the bottom dropped out. My heart crumbled when she told me her boss demanded her back at work. I didn’t actually think she would leave me. We talked about it for three hours that night while the poor women at the rose ceremony just waited. She actually didn’t have to be back at work for four or five more days but we were leaving the country the next morning, so she had to make a decision. I felt like she wanted me to make the choice for her, but I couldn’t. How could I live with myself if I told her, “No! You are not leaving me now!” and then realize a week or two later that she was not “the one.” I couldn’t make the decision for her. When she told me she was leaving, my heart stopped. I wish I could’ve had Mike Tyson punch me square in the jaw, because it would have felt so much better than what I feeling as I watched AliCat drive away that night.

What could I do? I had to regain my composure and focus on the amazing women I had left; three women that I have fallen in love with.”

Most recently eliminated Bachelor contestant Corrie Adamson had some strong words during her recent exit interview from the show.

Corrie, who said she wasn’t surprised at her elimination, reveals she doesn’t believe any of the remaining four women would be a great fit for Jake Pavelka. “I just, either way, didn’t see him with anyone, long-term, in all honesty,” Corrie told reporters.

However Corrie believes out of the four women remaining, Jake has a stronger connection with two of them. “But I think that him and Vienna and Ali all had a really strong connection and I think Tenley is a really great girl and he’d be lucky to have her. And I loved Gia to death, she was one of my good friends while I was there — but I don’t see her and Jake together at all.”

When asked about her thoughts on Jake’s rumored pick – Vienna, Corrie said, “They had a strong connection and I won’t be surprised to see that. [But] I will be surprised if they last.”

And on the Vienna topic, she has been taking a lot of heat in the press lately for a few reasons. One — she is Jake’s rumored final pick, and two — she seems to have a lot of skeletons in her closet. The 23 year old former Hooters waitress and Orlando native, has an ex husband and ex fiance all at the age of 23.

Her ex husband, Josh Riley, and former mother-in-law recently came out in the press accusing her of cheating on her ex-husband with his friend while he was deployed in Iraq. Her ex mother-in-law even accused her of draining her ex-husband’s bank account to pay for her breast implants.

Her friends are now coming to her defense (the women on the show aren’t allowed to do press until they are eliminated or done with the show). A close family friend spoke to RadarOnline denying all claims that Vienna cheated on her ex, and that she stole money from him.

According to this friend, “Vienna was a straight A student at school and got an academic scholarship to go to college.” Apparently, Vienna’s family was devasted when she decided to leave college and marry Josh. She would later complete her college degree after her divorce. Vienna’s father helped the couple financially, said the close family friend and Josh was the one who called her from Iraq to call off the marriage.

The account she took money from was a joint account for the couple and Vienna left $5,800 in the account for Josh according to the friend. The friend goes on to say Vienna is a “good” and a “really sweet person.”

According to our recent poll, most readers believe Tenley is the best match for Jake, with Vienna being the worst match.

“I just, either way, didn’t see him with anyone, long-term, in all honesty,” Adamson, whom Pavelka rejected during Monday night’s broadcast, told reporters during a Thursday conference call.

“But I think that him and [Vienna Girardi] and [Ali Fedotowsky] all had a really strong connection and I think [Tenley Molzahn] is a really great girl and he’d be lucky to have her. And I loved [Gia Allemand] to death, she was one of my good friends while I was there — but I don’t see he and Jake together at all.”
