Holly Durst

Following the surprise announcement on the Bachelor Pad finale that his ex-fiance was now engaged to her new beau, Michael Stagliano is speaking out on what he calls a humiliating moment.

On Monday’s airing of the Bachelor Pad reunion, Michael was brought out on stage and told his ex Holly Durst was enaged to fellow contestant Blake Julian. Immediately following the reunion taping last week in Los Angeles, both Michael and Holly spoke to PEOPLE.

“I was caught off guard, humiliated. I know neither Holly nor Blake wanted it to go down like that,” said Michael. “I’m now even more thankful for the talk we had two weeks ago, which provided closure I didn’t have before. If we hadn’t had that that, it would have been so much worse tonight. I might have just walked off stage.”

Holly, who actually got engaged days before the reunion taping, goes on to blame ABC and the Bachelor Pad producers for setting up Michael.

“I was really upset,” said Holly. “I was thinking, “Well, at least I will be able to tell him before the show so he isn’t blindsided.” But I wasn’t allowed to speak to him prior to walking out on stage. As soon as I sat down, I whispered that I needed to talk badly and then the bomb was dropped almost immediately. He was blindsided. That was the lowest thing they could have done for ratings.”

Umm Holly, you had days to tell him but you didn’t! Michael however keeps it classy when he reveals he is actually happy for Holly despite all.

Michael states, “We were engaged and therefore I will always care about and love her so it makes me happy when she is happy. I wish we could have been happy together but we’re always going to care about and love each other. I have no reason to be mad at Holly or Blake. You can’t help who you fall for.”

Holly adds, “If we had walked out there hating each other, I don’t think we would have gotten as many votes. He’s the best guy and I can’t wait for him to find the right girl.”

Meanwhile Bachelor insider Reality Steve is reporting that Holly’s fiance Blake got the $25,000 Neil Lane diamond engagement ring for free from ABC in exchange for allowing them to tape the proposal. Classy. Holly will reportedly have to return the three carats cushion-cut diamond ring in the case that the engagement gets called off.

TELL US – IS ABC OR HOLLY TO BLAME FOR MICHAEL FINDING OUT ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT THE WAY HE DID?

The Bachelor Pad season 2 three-hour finale aired last night and new winners were crowned!

Beating out the other 16 contestants, Holly Durst and her partner/ex-fiance Michael Stagliano emerged the winners, taking home the $250,000 prize on the ABC show Monday night.

Holly and Michael beat out runner-ups Graham Bunn and Michelle Money. The 14 eliminated contestants were the ones who voted, giving Holly and Michael got 10 votes, while Michelle and Graham only got 4.

The finale was of course not without drama. It was revealed that Holly, 28, had gotten engaged to Blake Julian, 28, much to the complete surprise of her former fiance Michael, 27. Michael was understandably upset as he wondered why he had to find out about the engagement on the show.

While Michael admitted he was “hurt” he hadn’t heard about her engagement before the reunion show, he didn’t let it deter him from choosing to share the prize with Holly. The two partners ended up taking home $125,000 each.

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON THE FINALE? SHOULD HOLLY HAVE INFORMED MICHAEL ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT BEFORE HAND?

While the Bachelor Pad season 2 finale doesn’t air until tonight on ABC, it was actually taped last week during which a fight broke out with some of the cast members.

Justin Rego aka Rated R tells TMZ he was punched in the face by his costar/hotness Graham Bunn during the wrap party last week. According to Justin, Graham and Blake Julian had gotten into an argument when things turned physical. Justin says he went up to both men to break up the fight during which he was punched in the nose by Graham.

Justin, who managed to supply TMZ with photos of his black eye, says security stepped in and Graham was escorted out. Justin reveals he has no plans to press charges while a rep for Graham tells TMZ, “It was nothing — just boys being boys.” A picture of Justin’s black eye is below.

In other news, Blake, who is now engaged to Holly Durst, and his partner on the show Erica Rose are now speaking out on their recent eviction. Blake talks about the cra cra Melissa, and forming a romance with Holly, while Erica reveals whether or not she regrets coming on too desperate strongly onto Blake. Excerpts from their interviews below -

Did smooching Melissa kill your game early on?
Blake: I definitely regret kissing Melissa [because] her strong emotional reaction was a pretty big death blow to get away from. It followed me constantly. She rallied the whole house against me.

Was her reaction justified in any way?
Blake: I never meant to lead Melissa on. We discussed before the date that I wasn’t looking for a relationship. I thought she understood so I was really shocked by her response [to me] flirting with another girl.

Should you have waited to pursue Holly outside the house for Michael’s sake?
Blake It never crossed my mind to ignore her. It seemed like an impossibility. Everyone has exes. Unfortunately her ex was in the same house. She told me repeatedly she was single. He admitted they weren’t together.

Were you aware Michael was still that into Holly?
Blake: Michael and I never became friends. He never confided in me. I didn’t see what he was going through.

Were you ashamed when you realized how aggressively you came on to Blake?
Erica: I know I was coming on strongly, but sometimes I like to push the envelope and I had good reasons. I thought it’d be good to keep Blake away and give the illusion that he wasn’t interested in Holly anymore. If I would have known that Blake and Holly were developing such strong feelings for each other, I wouldn’t have interfered. I believe in girl code. They’re cute.

The finale of Bachelor Pad season 2 airs tonight on ABC! It is 3-hours long and will begin airing at 8/7c. You can click here for spoilers on who won!

While the world continues to wonder what happened to Jake Pavelka’s pilot license or that whole not being a famewhore thingy, he is set to star in yet another upcoming reality show!

The former Bachelor star, who just finished filming a reality show for VH1 titled ‘Famous Food,’ will appear on the upcoming season of ABC’s Bachelor spinoff the Bachelor Pad! But it gets even better as his ex-fiance, Vienna Girardi, will be joining him on the show.

While ABC has yet to officially announce the cast, RadarOnline broke the news this week. Jake and Vienna had a very nasty and public split last year in June during which Vienna sold her story to a tabloid, insinuating Jake might be gay revealing she had been in a sexless and emotionally abusive relationship with Jake.

Joining Jake and Vienna in the competition to win the $250,000 prize will be past controversial contestant Rozlyn Papa, plus Holly Durst and Michael Stagliano (the two recently broke of their engagement).

Other cast members include guys: Graham Bunn, Tanner Pope, Kirk DeWindt, Stu Lopoten and David Vargas. And girls: Erica Rose, Melissa Shrieber, Asheigh Hunt, Madison Garton, Michelle Money and Jackie Gordon.

The second season of ABC’s Bachelor Pad premieres on Monday, August 8.
