Jason Hoppy

Bethenny Frankel’s butt might be skinny, but her bank account certainly is not! In an article by the Hollywood Reporter we learn that everyone’s favorite housewife ,Jill Zarin – I mean, Mrs. Hoppy – is now worth $120 million dollars! Ummm… what?! That’s alotta margaritas and diet books! Seriously – that means that besides the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Bethenny is the richest person to be on Bravo ever! Vicki Gunvalsun is probably working overnights RIGHT NOW upon this discovery!

So just how did Bethenny, a former natural-foods chef who just a few years ago was the poor, unmarried cast member of Real Housewives of New York City become a multi-millionairess? According to Bethenny: “Everything I create is a solution to a problem that women have,” referring to how she came up with the concept of Skinnygirl Margaritas and her new lingerie line for lazy women whose men like sexy underwear. Here’s the breakdown:

- Bethenny decided to join RHONY after appearing on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart and trying to make her business BethennyBakes a more successful venture: “I didn’t know where I was in my life,” Bethenny says of her pre-Housewives days. “I was still taking the subway to events because I couldn’t afford the $20 for a cab.” When Bravo came a’knockin she told them no for TWO MONTHS because: “”I was worried that it would ruin what I had going,” recalls Bethenny, who at the time had signed on as a Pepperidge Farm spokesperson and had appeared on NBC’s Today show for a cooking segment.” After finally deciding she could use the platform to advertise and promote her brand, she became RHONY’s resident career girl and the pioneer of a whole new genre of “Bravo-lebrities” creating brands and businesses because of their successes on Housewives shows: “When I went on the show, no one was going on for business, no one had done anything.” Gee thanks, Bethenny – because of you we are now forced to endure COUNTLESS – pun intended – bad pop songs, weaves, terribly written books and cookbooks, and now SHAPEWEAR!

- Bethenny was able to parlay her success as the most recognizable and well-liked housewife into an enormous empire of products and brand endorsements, starting with her cookbook, Naturally Thin, and expanding to Skinnygirl Margaritas and beyond! Bethenny recently sold the Skinnygirl Cocktail line to “the world’s fourth-largest spirits company, Fortune Brands’ Beam Global — which distributes the likes of Jim Beam bourbon and Sauza tequila — for a price tag insiders have placed at $120 million. It’s a feat never before seen in the spirits marketplace by a single celebrity.” People apparently really really love their low-cal margaritas!

- Bethenny also claims that despite sleeping in a bed with sheets made of freshly ironed 100 Dollar bills, she is still down to earth and cheap! Describing a sweater she is wearing to lunch with the reporter: “It’s Club Monaco,” she notes without prompting. “I love their tops. I don’t have a lot of tops, but everything I buy is on sale. I never pay full price.” She buzzes on for a few minutes about her controlled spending and how her husband of one year, Jason Hoppy, recently encouraged her to purchase an $800 Chanel handbag she was eyeing. “I couldn’t do it,” she says. “I didn’t need it.” Wait – does anyone else remember when even in Season 1 of RHoNY that girlie was carrying around a Hermes Birkin and wearing Louboutins? Are those often on the clearance rack?

Also, according to Bravo, Bethenny’s reign as the most beloved housewife almost never happened since she was almost left out of the cast of RHONY! Bravo was initially hesitant about casting someone who had already appeared on a reality show: ” ‘She was one of the last, if not the last, woman we cast on the show,” says Bravo Media president Frances Berwick. “We had a few reservations and were a little on the fence since we don’t take reality stars and put them on the network.’’

Bethenny also admits she wants a talk show! The THR states Bethenny “aspires to parlay her on-air talents into more of a “conversation” with her fans — a TV format that allows a dialogue beyond 140 Twitter characters.” As for Bethenny, she admits, “Yes, like a talk show.” According to a recent report, Bethenny is in fact in talks with Telepictures Productions (the company behind The Tyra Banks Show and Ellen) about the prospect of her own show though her rep would not confirm or deny the report. Oh, sweet Jesus. Obviously unlike Kris Jenner, Bethenny Frankel is NOT worried about over-exposure!

And despite the popularity of her spinoff show Bethenny Ever After — Bravo has expressed desire to keep her on air (“I’m hoping this partnership is a long one,” Berwick says), – Bethenny only anticipates another season or two of the show. “I like to leave a party when it’s in full swing,” she says. “I don’t want to be there at 3 in the morning with the scary guy in the bad sweater with no teeth. I like to leave when everyone still has their teeth.”

So that ladies, is how you parlay Saturday nights of binge drinking and talking crap about people into a multi-million dollar empire! When is The Apprentice: Bethenny Frankel coming to TV? I wonder if Jill Zarin is going to be sending Bethenny an invoice for a “finder’s fee” after introducing her to Bravo and discovery the true cost of Bethenny’s success?

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON BETHENNY EARNING $120 MILLION? ARE YOU SHOCKED?

Bethenny Frankel is opening up about her boob job ordeal in a new interview with Life & Style magazine.

In the mag’s latest issue, the Bethenny Ever After star admits she got breast implants but says she had them removed a few years ago. Bethenny states that back in 2005, she was feeling unhappy with her natural 34C. She thought her breasts were way too saggy and approached a plastic surgeon to get a lift.

The plastic surgeon however wouldn’t perform the procedure she wanted. “He told me there would be big lollipop scars if I got a lift,” Bethenny, 40, tells Life & Style. “Being single at the time, I wasn’t comfortable with the idea. He told me he could instead put in a small implant that would give me a lift — not as much as a real lift would but at least a little bit of a lift. So I did it.”

Bethenny says she wasn’t happy with the implants. “I was a D-cup,” Bethenny remembers. “They were still saggy — only now they were bigger! They were saggy and gigantic.”

“I was so uncomfortable. I looked like a stripper,” continues Bethenny. “I don’t think your breasts should be the first thing people notice when you enter a room.”

Bethenny adds that after joining the cast of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York City in 2008, she was finally able to afford having the implants taken out.

“The minute I had the money, I was like, ‘Let’s do it,’” says Bethenny adding that she quickly booked an appointment with a surgeon, had the implants removed and went back to her normal size.

“Now I feel comfortable,” says Bethenny. “I feel proportional — and I don’t have saggy boobs anymore. It’s the best feeling ever.” Bethenny adds that her hubby Jason Hoppy is happy with her natural size. “He likes me in a bathing suit and in lingerie — and when I’m naked,” smiles Bethenny.

Interesting comments by Bethenny though her recent photos stemming from 2009 to 2011 still show what appears to be breast implants but we’ll let you be the judge of that with more photos below. Our guess is she might have gotten smaller implants as the above photo of Bethenny in a white bikini from 2009 looks like more than just a lift.

A new episode of Bethenny Ever After airs tonight on Bravo at 10/9c.

On the third episode this season titled “Business as Usual,” business is booming for Bethenny but not quite fast enough when it comes to the growth of Skinnygirl Margarita. When Bethenny realizes that liquor stores are unable to replenish their supply quick enough, she enlists Jason to help to figure out the problem. Bethenny then faces the consequences of her boundary issues with other important people in her life – namely her intern Max and her broken hearted baby nurse Gina – she realizes she must find balance in all of these relationships before things spiral out of control. A preview clip is below.

In other news, the always outspoken Ramona Singer had some interesting critique for her pal Bethenny Frankel, during an interview with the Miami Herald to promote her line of pinot grigio available for $13.99 at thewinebuyer.com.

But back to Ramona’s comments, as she, similar to some fans of BEA, takes issue with the way Bethenny treats her in-laws on the show. “How could she not embrace her child’s grandparents?’’ Ramona asked. “That was shocking to me.’’

And finally, Bethenny is launching her own shapewear line. It is called Skinnygirl Shapewear and includes a collection of camis, tanks, half-slips, high-waisted briefs, and leggings, complete with sexy designs and lace detailing, aimed to conceal all the unwanted bulges in all the right places.

“The line ranges from tank tops in black or beige to my signature color, red, which is a confidence color, and a little daring, but not white because it can make anyone look bigger,” Bethenny tells WWD of the collection.

But unlike the Squeez shapewear line of Bethenny’s former BFF Jill Zarin (and no, we’re not certain which line came first), Bethenny reveals her collection offers more than just panty-smoothing pieces. She describes some of the items as “lazy lingerie” such as a sexy apron with a bra, which she states is “a fun item with a little skirt you might wear for Valentine’s Day to wake up … and fix your husband breakfast in.”

The items will sell for $20-$40 and will be available on Skinnygirlshapers.com.

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON RAMONA’S COMMENTS, THE PREVIEW & TONIGHT’S NEW EPISODE? DOES BETHENNY TREAT HER IN-LAWS BADLY?

Bethenny Frankel returns tonight to the Bravo network with the second season of her hit spinoff show Bethenny Ever After.

As for what to expect on the show this season, Bethenny will be dealing with marriage, motherhood, career, in laws, religion and turning 40.

Meanwhile, Bethenny has spent the last couple of weeks doing the press rounds to promote her show but it’s her most recent comments via a conference call with reporters that is now raising a few eyebrows. Could this season of BEA mark the end of her run on reality television? We’ll let you be the judge.

“Will I be doing this forever? No,” said Bethenny of her reality-show career. “Without getting into the details of my relationship with Bravo, I have a commitment. It’s not like you get to be, like, ‘I want to do one season, and then, you know, you’ve spent all this money on advertising and crew and all of that and we’re done.’ And there are many things I do love about it. I think it’s a great message for women. I have developed a strong relationship with my fans.”

Bethenny also promises an honest look into her life. “If Jason and I in general have had the same argument six times over about marriage or money or life or in-laws or something, at some point, I want to let the cameras catch that because I just hate when you watch these shows and, you know, someone’s, like, broken up with their boyfriend and you see them laying there in full makeup pretending that they’re sad,” she said. “I just want it to be real and if we’re going to do this at all and we’re going to portray our relationship, I want people to get the whole picture.” Take that Kim Kardashian!

Bethenny Ever After debuts tonight on Bravo at 10/9c. A preview clip is below.

And finally, Bethenny, 40, and hubby Jason Hoppy, 39, hit a Miami Beach in Florida over the weekend and beach photos of the couple are also below!

Bethenny Frankel continues her attempt at world domination as she once again graces another magazine cover, to once again discuss her past dieting issues.

Bethenny, star of the upcoming Bethenny Ever After on Bravo, is on the latest cover of UsWeekly magazine under the heading, “I Was Obsessed With Being Thin.”

The 5-foot-6 reality star reveals she weighs 123 pounds and maintains an everything-in-moderation, guilt-free approach to eating. Bethenny, who has ten-month-old daughter Bryn with sales exec hubby Jason Hoppy, 39, however makes it clear that giving up the guilt was a lifelong battle.

“I spent my entire life being obsessed with dieting,” says Bethenny. “Bingeing and then fasting or starving. Forbidding everything. That’s how I used to be: up and down 5 pounds every single day, to the extremes. My metabolism was totally wrecked.”

According to Bethenny, her issues with food first started at age eight — when her mom sent her to a New York obesity clinic — and continued well into her thirties. Below are some excerpts from Bethenny’s interview -

Bethenny On Diet Extremes

“Truthfully, I grew up and I took laxatives for periods of time. I did suffer from constipation for most of my life. I don’t know if I took them because of that or because I wanted to be skinny, or if it was a combination of both. I also did the Jane Fonda workouts in seventh grade. And I would go buy magazines just to see what the new diet was and rip it out: the cabbage-soup diet, the stewardess diet, the Atkins diet, the Scarsdale diet, the Beverly Hills diet. I’ve been on 5,000 diets.”

Bethenny On Being Told To Lose Weight By A Casting Agent -

“Yes. A casting agent for Aaron Spelling – it had to be, like, 1992 – said, If you’re going to be an actress, you should maybe take off 10, 15 pounds. So I went on a diet. I went to Diet Center, where they would weigh you every morning. I lost 8 pounds.”

Bethenny On Her Relationship With Food Today -

“It’s more about balance. Eating real when you can. At a minimart the other day, I ate corn nuts and looked at the back of the package: They were corn, oil and salt. But compared to neon-orange potato chips, it’s the lesser of two evils. People assume that I’m going to tell everyone that everything needs to be organic, local and vegan every day. It’s not like that. Yesterday, I had a little bit of gelato and a red velvet cupcake. You can go into a deli and have a bag of potato chips and it’s OK. You can have pizza.”

TELL – THOUGHTS ON BETHENNY’S MAGAZINE COVER AND INTERVIEW?

In a new interview with the Wall Street Journal, Bravo reality star Bethenny Frankel openly admits that having a baby and getting married to Jason Hoppy has been good for her brands, which now includes two Bravo reality shows, a Skinnygirl Margarita mix, endorsement deals with Bluefly and British Airways, and several best-selling books.

“I’m not stupid,” Bethenny says. “This is about the husband and the baby.” According to the WSJ article, Bethenny can also add an endorsement for Pampers to her long list of endorsements as Procter & Gamble came calling following the birth of now 6-month old baby Bryn Hoppy.

Bethenny is even gearing up to add more to her brands as she is also working on some skin care products and a shapewear line. “It’s about allowing people into my fishbowl in order to be successful,” says Bethenny of her success on and off the TV screen.

“Our clients are very taken with her right now. Bethenny has entered into the mommy world and she hasn’t posed for Playboy,” says Amia French, a talent coordinator for Platinum Rye Entertainment, which helps corporations pair with celebrities. “Motherhood has only increased her value with us,” adds Geri Allen, a spokeswoman for Campbell Soup Co.’s Pepperidge Farm unit, which also has a promotional agreement with Bethenny.

Bethenny has without a doubt come a long way since her days on Martha Stewart’s The Apprentice back in 2005. She finished runner-up by the way. Since then, she has appeared on 3 seasons of Bravo’s the Real Housewives of New York City before ultimately getting her own spin-off show Bethenny Getting Married following the announcement of her engagement and pregnancy.

The WSJ article also mentions that season 2 of BGM will be returning in February. The new title? “Bethenny Ever After.”

Despite her success and growing number of business endeavors, Bethenny makes it clear there’s still something she would like to have. Her own talk show that is. “I want to have a dialogue with my fans, and right now the only dialogue I can have is in 140-characters,” she says, referring to her Twitter feed.

While everything Bethenny touches seems to turn to gold, her decision to appear on ABC’s Skating With The Stars might turn out to be her biggest failure yet. The ratings for the show came out yesterday and it can only be described as disastrous. Despite having a lead-in from the most popular show on TV at the moment, Skating With The Stars only managed 11.3 million viewers. A drastic drop from the 23.3 million viewers that tuned in for Dancing With The Stars just moments before.

It gets even worse as only 6.91 million viewers tuned in for the last hour of the show’s premiere. There are now rumblings that ABC is currently in panic mode.

TELL US – WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE WSJ ARTICLE & BETHENNY’S COMMENTS?

Will she or won’t she? Is the question when it comes to Bethenny Frankel having a second baby.

The Real Housewives of New York City star stated a few months ago that she was likely done having children, but in a new interview with OK magazine, Bethenny, 39, mentions having another baby is still an option with hubby Jason Hoppy.

“Jason wants to have another baby, and I’m not sure, so the breast pump and the newborn clothes are in purgatory for who knows what will happen next,” she says.

She adds, “I’m almost 40, and it’s a decision that we’re talking about. It’s a conversation that needs to be had. I have a five-month-old baby, so I haven’t made that decision yet.”

Bethenny, who shares that 5-month-old Bryn has began rolling over, also states that she is lucky to have Jason as her partner. “Jason does everything,” she says. “He changes diapers, he watches her. We both do everything. I was told before I got into a relationship that if you want to have a child, you need a good partner. You could do it alone – I was prepared to do it alone – but it does help. There’s a lot to do, and you want someone who cares as much as you do about your child, so that’s the deal.”

In other NYC news, just days after Life&Style broke the news that Ramona Singer physically attacked a producer on the Real Housewives of NYC, UsWeekly is also confirming that Ramona did indeed hit the producer, except it wasn’t a slap but rather a punch!

“She was furious and felt like the producers were ganging up on her,” says one insider. “She literally lost her mind.” Ramona, 53, was reportedly shooting with Sonja Morgan and Alex McCord when she lost it.

“No one is really sure what exactly spurred her craziness,” a second source tells US. “But she got herself worked up over filming this scene and one thing led to another, and she punched the producer. Literally.”

With only one month into shooting, the producers are now trying “to mediate the situation so the cast all stays filming.” And somewhere in NYC, Kelly Bensimon is celebrating no longer being the lone crazy pants on the show.

In the current issue of UsWeekly magazine, Bethenny Frankel, former star of Real Housewives of New York City, discusses her former castmates.

This is the same issue in which Bethenny announced she was quitting the show. When asked about her current status with former BFF Jill Zarin, Bethenny had some interesting things to say. “I was sympathetic at the reunion, but Jason said, ‘It’s all for the cameras,’” she says before adding, “I never heard from her after that.”

When it comes to Kelly Bensimon, Bethenny says her interaction with Kelly was toxic. “She said mean things. She called me a ho bag. I don’t want Bryn to hear stuff like that.” And when it comes to Kelly coming back on the show next season, Bethenny had some nicer words for the unpredictable housewife. “I hope coming back is a healthy choice for her,” said Bethenny. “It’s stressful.”

It seems Bethenny’s husband, Jason Hoppy, also played a role in her decision to leave the Housewives. “My husband was embarrassed by it,” she said. “Jason’s a different person when he’s on camera for Housewives than he is for Bethenny’s Getting Married? He just didn’t want to do it anymore.”

In other NYC Housewives news, in a new interview with PEOPLE magazine, Kelly Bensimon solely discusses her hair, telling the mag that everyone is obsessed with it.

“Everyone is obsessed with my hair,” Kelly told PEOPLE. “They always want to touch it.” Kelly credits her hair colorist, Bradley Irion, for giving her the amazing must-be-touched hair.

“When I met Bradley, he said, your hair has to be natural. So he literally colored my base and let my natural hair color come through. People are constantly coming up to me and touching my hair. That’s what Bradley gave me. . . this touchable, gorgeous hair that’s real,” she said adding that Bradney “even cuts my dog’s hair.”

While the article itself was unintentionally humorous, the only two comments left on the article page are likely much more funny. “I think it always, always looks dirty and stringy,” posted Anniieee. “Her hair makes her face so long. It’s also so dated. She looks like she belongs in the 80′s. Is this all this woman cares about?” posted boston02127.

UPDATE – This gets even better.  Here’s what Rob Shuter from Popeater posted on twitter:  “Off to bed! But laughing so loud that @kikilet told people everyone was obsesssed with her hair! Her PR people pitched that story! We passed.”
