While we ponder the answer to that, a new episode of BGM is set to air tonight. Now that the wedding is over, Bethenny and hubby Jason Hoppy finally get a chance to relax on their honeymoon, well that is until Bethenny’s hormones decide to rear their ugly head.
Bethenny’s hormones get the best of her during the trip, but a very understanding and sweet Jason is thankfully there to calm her nerves about the new family they are forming.
Will Bethenny be able to really let go and enjoy her honeymoon or will her emotions get the best of her? Find out this tonight at 10/9c on BRAVO.
Just a week after her PEOPLE magazine cover story came out detailing her volatile childhood, Bethenny Frankel’s mother, Bernadette Birk, is now telling her side of the story to Star magazine.
“I love my daughter but what she’s saying is killing me,” Bernadette reveals in a new interview in this week’s issue of Star. Bernadette denies Bethenny’s assertion that she was a bulimic who was always drinking.
Bethenny told PEOPLE Bernadette was “never a mother to me” and calls her childhood “toxic.” Bernadette, an interior design professor, admits there was discord in the family but insists Bethenny was “the most important person in my world.”
Bernadette says she and Bethenny have only spoken twice in the last 10 years, also adding that she only knows what is going on in Bethenny’s world by watching her on television.
Bernadette’s ex-husband and Bethenny’s former stepdad John Parisella did however corroborate Bethenny’s story in PEOPLE.

“My mother hasn’t expressed any interest in meeting Bryn, which was shocking to my husband,” says Bethenny to Parade. “Life is hopefully long, so I don’t know what the future will bring. Right now, I would say no. I only want positive energy around her for as long as possible. Life will be difficult enough before she knows it.”
This comes just days after Bethenny’s cover story with PEOPLE magazine during which she opened up about her childhood abuse. “I never had a true childhood,” she tells People. “There was a lot of destruction: alcohol abuse, eating disorders and violent fights.”
Bethenny’s father is the now deceased highly known horse trainer Bobby Frankel. According to Bethenny, Bobby walked out on she and her mother, Bernadette Birk, when she was just 4 years old. Bethenny’s mom re-married another horse trainer named John Parisella when Bethenny was 5, which led to them moving homes seven times in over 10 years. Bethenny says her father cut her off when Bernadette accused him of keeping money from them. She also says her father seemed to resent her and punish her for the actions of her mother.
Things then got hostile with Bernadette and her new husband John. “The house would be in shambles,” Bethenny says of her mom’s vicious outbursts in which she would smash “dishes, pictures, the TV — anything she could see” and physically fight with John. Bethenny says she would either have to hide in her closet or call the police to break things up.
Bethenny also sheds light on her troubles with her weight and drugs during her teen years. She began starving herself and purging at the age of 13. “I was owned by dieting,” she says. “I hated myself.” Her situation worsened when she began clubbing in her teens, drinking heavily and even doing cocaine.
As for Bethenny’s relationship with her mother today, she says the two have barely spoken in the past 10 years. Bethenny however makes it clear she is over the past and is now in a better place with her husband and daughter. “I just want to give her the life I didn’t have,” says Bethenny of baby Bryn.
The big day has finally arrived and Bethenny Frankel is indeed getting married! A few select housewives aka Alex McCord and Ramona Singer (and plenty of awaiting paparazzi) are present as the Bride prepares to walk down the aisle. With her due date in the near future, a very pregnant Bethenny gets desperate when she needs a bathroom break too close to show time.
Tune in tonight at 10/9c on Bravo to see Bethenny and Jason exchange their vows. Photos from the big day can be seen here.
Speaking of Bethenny, though a lot of amazing things seem to be happening to her – think PEOPLE magazine cover and a hit reality show – some are starting to wonder if it’s all too much too soon.
I blogged a while back stating that watching Bethenny on BGM gave me some cringeworthy moments. I didn’t go into detail about it but the folks at NyMag.com wrote a good article asking is Bethenny to BGM what Jill Zarin was to the Real Housewives of New York City. As in is well liked Bethenny the villain of her own show?
Examples of Bethenny’s villainess behavior include asking her assistant Max Meiselto pick out her panties for her, scolding him for not having the car ready after one of her speaking arrangements, getting snappy with fiance Jason, or how about when Jason’s mom took Bethenny wedding dress shopping and tearfully told her “I finally have a daughter.” Bethenny seemed moved by her comments and teared up as well only to then turn around and act like she was doing the woman a favor, in therapy, when she stated “I could have gone on my own.”
It didn’t end there as Bethenny then held it against Jason during a later argument about how she had to take his mom dress-shopping. The writer makes an excellent point when she says Bethenny “should be thanking these people for not holding it against her that she’s dragged them onto Bravo.”
Another blogger at Chicagonow.com wrote a nice article asking “Is Bethenny Frankel being built up just to be torn down?” Bethenny seems to be at her peak right now with the husband, hit show, popularity amongst the fans, and of course the PEOPLE magazine cover. And trust folks, the People magazine cover is a HUGE deal. She’s been on the cover before but she’s never had the main cover dedicated to her. That’s a first for any Bravo reality star. In fact the only other reality stars who has had a cover story dedicated to them on People are Kate Gosselin, and some past Bacheloralums. Oh yeah, and the above picture is of Bethenny during her appearance on CBS’ Early Show today.
The article questions if the tide is turning for Bethenny as some fans are jumping ship based on what they’ve seen on BGM, you know Bethenny being a pregzilla bridezilla. Then there’s also been the negative press questioning her rapid weight loss after the birth of daughter Bryn, and the whole beef with reality villainess Omarosa.
But then again perhaps we the bloggers are over-analyzing what we see on TV. My take on this? I’m a Bethenny fan, and still like her for the moment. My fear however is those sentiments might change by the time this season of BGM ends. I hope that’s not the case. Perhaps I’m just overreacting to what is normal behavior by a hormonal pregnant lady who’s planning a wedding. But perhaps I’m not. Perhaps Bethenny is just too honest and doesn’t know where to draw the line in filming a reality show. Or perhaps she’s just a villain. I would love to hear your views and opinions on Bethenny on Bethenny Getting Married?

Bethenny, who can be seen on the cover with 8-week-old daughter Bryn, is opening up about her painful past.
“I never had a true childhood,” said Bethenny, 39, the only child of legendary horse trainer Bobby Frankeland his first wife, Bernadette. “There was a lot of destruction: alcohol abuse, eating disorders and violent fights.”
Bethenny also reveals to the mag that she has long been estranged from her mom, whom she describes as “extremely volatile. She was never a mother to me.” Bethenny is however now grateful for the chance to create a stable home with hubbyJason Hoppy and their daughter: “I live for this baby.”
You can read more about Bethenny’s story in the latest issue of PEOPLE. In other Bethenny news, she did a phone conference interview just days ago and below are some of the tidbits she revealed -
On whether she’s ever wished she hadn’t done something in front of the cameras: Bethenny Frankel: No. It’s who I am and I’m never going to edit myself or not do something . . . everything that happens on the show, my life really is. That’s the one good relationship that I really do have with my fans: the honesty. If someone asks me if I’m pregnant, then I say “yes I am” if I am. That’s the thing I really take pride in, is telling the truth. It is what it is.
On whether there will be a second season of Bethenny Getting Married?: BF: We haven’t discussed it yet, but I imagine that there will be.
On the pros and cons of begin married to Jason: BF: There are so many pros; the man was in the hospital with me for six days from the minute my water broke to when I had the baby, that’s the kind of person he is. He’s there and a total partner. I have to say, I don’t think there’s any cons to being married to him.
On her relationship with the other Real Housewives Alex and Ramona: BF: They’re in my repertoire of friends, we email each other, see each other once in a while; it’s all very clean. It just is.
On why she thinks Jill has turned her animosity toward Alex: BF: I’m the one who had the baby and all that stuff, so you can’t be mean to the pregnant girl, so I guess she had to find someone new to have an issue with. Alex is the wrong one [to target], I have to say — there’s nothing underhanded about her at all.
39-year-old Bethenny, who is arguably the most popular housewife is the Bravo Housewives history, is also the first Bravo housewife to get her own spin-off.
So what can be expect from Bethenny’s new show? Well according to a press release, the show will feature the Skinny Girl powerhouse as she prepares for two of life’s biggest milestones: a wedding and a baby… simultaneously! Joining Bethenny on her show is her new hubby Jason Hoppy, her assitant Julie Plake, and her dog Cookie. Her Real Housewives of NYC co-stars Alex McCord and Ramona Singer will also be making appearances on the show in future episodes.
But will Jill Zarin be appearing on Bethenny’s show as well? “Jill isn’t in my life,” explains Bethenny. “I really wish her the best of everything. I have released any angst or feelings about that situation. Marriage and motherhood put everything into perspective.”
The show premieres tonight at10 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo!
In other Bethenny news, she gave a new interview to Life&Style magazine this week and openly discussed her first marriage to Peter Sussman (pictured above). Who knew she had a first marriage under her belt?
According to Bethenny, she married Peter, whom she describes as her former best friend, back in 1996. “We were best friends for five years, and he always wanted to be more,” she tells the mag.
Bethenny says she eventually gave in to Peter’s advances and dated him for two years before tying the knot with him in front of more than 150 friends and family members at the posh Four Seasons in Los Angeles. Though she felt secure in the marriage, Bethenny admits there was a lack of passion in their relationship.
She adds, “I loved him because of how much he loved me. I got married too young. I didn’t wait for the great love of my life.” Bethenny says she is now content with her new happy ending. “Until you find it, you’re not really sure it’s even possible,” she says. “You don’t know how the story can end.”
All very interesting. While Bethenny is quite funny and entertaining on the Real Housewives of New York City, the question now seems to be can she carry a show on her own? You know without the mean-girl behavior of Jill, the insanity of Kelly, the mood swings of Ramona, or the delusions of grandeur of Countess LuAnn? Guess we’ll be finding out tonight.

Bethenny and Jason welcomed their daughter Bryn on May 8, just in time for Mother’s Day. The baby weighed in at 4 lbs, 12 ounces. Her new show, Bethenny’s Getting Married? is set to debut in June on Bravo.
In other NYC Housewives news, a commenter posted yesterday that Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimonappeared on LXTV show yesterday, during which both ladies accused their other co-stars of being bullies and bullying Kelly. Apparently they both decided to spin last week’s episode into a “cautionary tale about bullying.” While I haven’t seen the appearance, Kelly did post on her twitter that she would be appearing on the show yesterday.
Kelly has also posted on her twitter that she was bullied by the other ladies and that she would use this opportunity to talk to her two daughters about bullying. Nice to see Kelly is still thinking and acting like a insane person.

The 39 year-old reality star, who is married to Jason Hoppy, delivered her baby girl Bryn two weeks ago, about a month early from her due date. Bryn Casey Hoppy, who was born via c-section, weighed a tiny 4 lbs. 12 oz.
The baby is said to have spent four days in the hospital before coming home, healthy and happy. Bryn is named after Jason’s older brother Bryan, who died in a car accident 19 years ago.
It’s miraculous,” says Bethenny. “I’d barely even held a baby before. I didn’t have that maternal instinct… until now.”
“We didn’t know anything about kids,” continued Bethenny. “Now we can’t believe we could have possible missed this.”

Jill Zarin, star of the Real Housewives of New York City, continues to prove that she is her own worst enemy. Just 2 weeks after amazongate, during which the housewife was caught threatening someone on Amazon.com who left her book a bad review, and then making up a fake name to give her book a good review, Jill seems to have found another shocking way to top herself. We shall call this ‘Babygate.” By the way, the above picture of Jill was taken just yesterday. That looks like a genuine smile no?
And no, this isn’t a Bethenny Frankel is a saint and Jill is evil story, but to be quite frank, Jill’s behavior both on and off the show, has been downright nuts and sometimes ‘evil.’ On Friday, Bethenny went into labor, a month earlier than expected. This was reported by several reliable media outlets and even confirmed by Ramona Singer, who said she spoke to Bethenny.
Hours later, a nut who goes by the twitter name of Tweetmaxine, posted that Bethenny had delivered a baby boy. Shortly after, Jill posted a congratulatory announcement on her facebook page congratulating Bethenny on delivering a baby boy. What really drove me nuts about this was that Jill did not have to mention the sex of B’s baby, but of course being the gossip monger that she is, and in her pathetic attempt to gossip and scoop the press, she had to include the baby was a boy.
After hearing of Jill’s post, I searched all over the internet Friday night, visited PEOPLE.com and all the major websites, only to find absolutely nothing on Bethenny giving birth. Not one single story from a major site. Visited PEOPLE.com because Bethenny announced her engagement and pregnancy through them last year, and logic told me she would likely do the same with her birth. My thought process at the time was that perhaps Bethenny did give birth to her baby on Friday, but why is Jill the first/second person to announce it before her? Shouldn’t Bethenny be the first to do this? And my instincts were right as Bethenny did announce the birth of her baby girl with PEOPLE on Saturday morning.
The main question on my mind is what the hell is Jill thinking? I’m guessing Jill’s thought process was, “Okay, I have to be the first person to congratulate Bethenny on her delivery. Hopefully when people see this, they will think that I’m not so awful, the press will include my congratulatory message in her delivery news. Hopefully the fans will like me again. Plus I get to prove I’m still “in the know” by knowing this, and I get to win cookie points with fans by scooping the press and breaking this news to them.”
Yes that’s what I believe was going through Jill’s head, all very irrational thinking, without even considering that no official announcement had been made by Bethenny herself. And as we all know now, Jill couldn’t have been more wrong. Not only did Bethenny not give birth on Friday, but her baby was a girl. Jill posted the following explanation on her facebook on Saturday:
“Yesterday [my daughter] read a tweet and blog that Bethenny gave birth. We were excited and congratulated her obviously prematurely. I should have waited until B announced it herself. Sorry.”
Yes Jill, you were really that happy, overjoyed and excited for Bethenny that you couldn’t wait to inform the world of her false delivery. Must say Jill is a pretty amazing person to be that overjoyed for someone who wants absolutely nothing to do with her. And oh yeah, for someone, who just a month ago, referred to her wedding ceremony as being “circus like,” must say Jill is truly amazing, almost saint like to be that excited for Bethenny. Now some feel she is throwing her daughter under the bus and using her as an excuse, but I’ll let you be the judge of that. And as for her daughter reading the story on a blog? Absolutely false. The only blog that posted the story on Friday, did so after Jill’s facebook message and used Jill as a source. The worst part about this is that Jill forcefully and selfishly inserted herself into the biggest news of Bethenny’s life and now most of the stories out there about Bethenny’s delivery, including ours, includes Jill Zarin, all thanks to Jill Zarin of course.
