Mob Wives VH1
Ready or not, the Mob Wives are gearing up for a sophomore season following the success of their first!

The VH1 network recently announced that the second season of the hit show will return to airwaves on January 1, 2012. Returning are all of the four original cast members – Drita D’avanzo, Renee Graziano, Karen Gravano and Carla Facciolo.

The press release promises the second season of Mob Wives will pick up where the first left off – with each cast member dealing with major personal life issues.

“The rift between Karen and Drita is far from over – will they ever be able to ‘bury the hatchet’? Renee goes under the knife for major plastic surgery that may have some unexpected consequences, while also contemplating her future with her ex-husband Junior. Drita is considering her options when it comes to leaving her husband Lee – while Carla’s relationship with her estranged husband Joe may take an unexpected twist. And, of course, everyone wants to know what’s in Karen’s soon-to-be-released book – the one she moved back to New York to write!”

Even better, the network also announced that a new spin-off Mob Wives: Chicago will debut in the Spring 2012! Yes Mob Wives: Chicago will introduce a new cast of women suffering the stronzi and agita of their Mafiosi connections.

“Our viewers connected so strongly with our New York cast that we were skeptical about trying to repeat that success, said Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Original Programming & Production. “But once we met these ladies from Chicagoland heard their truly unbelievable stories, we knew that viewers would become just as captivated as we did. These women’s life experiences may be far different from our own, but their current struggles to stand on their own two feet are relatable to everyone.”

So there you have it folks! Mob Wives season 2 will return Jan. 1 at 8/7c while the new Chicago spinoff will debut in Spring of 2012!

NBA star Shaquille O’Neal is trying to stop the airing of VH1′s new hit show - Basketball Wives according to TMZ.

The overly sensitive Shaq reportedly believes his ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal might be bashing him on future episodes, and had his lawyers fire off a letter to VH1 demanding they “immediately halt production on “any further episodes of ‘Basketball Wives’ which make any reference to Mr. O’Neal.”

Shaq’s lawyer is claiming Shaunie signed a confidentiality agreement at some point in their relationship therefore preventing her from saying anything about Shaq on TV. VH1 has however confirmed the show will go on. The new episode will still air tonight at the scheduled time of 10/9c.

Coming of the heels of a rather impressive debut of Basketball Wives, VH1 announced this week that it will be creating a new spin off series called Football Wives. Similar to Basketball Wives, Football Wives will also offer viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the glamorous life of the better halves of professional football’s most elite players.

“Football and basketball are really two very different worlds,” Jeff Olde, executive vice president of original programming and production at VH1, said Wednesday. “In football, there are no guaranteed contracts, so you could be in your heyday one day and out completely the next.”

“The players are also on the road much less than basketball players,” added Olde, “so the family dynamic and work schedule is totally different from the women’s perspective.”

The T.O. Show Season 2

Last week, the first season of The T.O. Show ended, and now comes news that the second season is already on the way. The show has definately made Terrell Owens a more likeable person.

Check the press release below:

Hot on the heels of wrapping up his first season of The T.O. Show, VH1 has picked up Terrell Owens‘ option for a second go-around of his hit series. It seems Terrell will have a successful career off the football field too as the The T.O. Show has been a ratings hit for VH1 with an average of over 1.5 million viewers per episode.

As this is a show about Terrell’s off-season life, the series will resume production shortly after his 2009 football season ends with the Buffalo Bills. Season Two will begin as his one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills expires and he will once again be faced with the question of – will he back with the Bills or will he be looking for a new team in the off-season? He will also be exploring business opportunities for life after football and dealing with the women in his life.

Kita Williams and Monique Jackson, Terrell’s two best friends as well as his marketing and publicity team, are also returning to the series. In addition to molding Terrell’s image off the field they are also a formidable duo in his personal life that do their best to guide him in his personal life with sound sisterly advice.

“Terrell has been a great asset to the VH1 team and we’re thrilled to have him back for another season,” stated Jeff Olde, EVP Original Programming and Production, VH1. “He is a compelling figure to watch both on and off the field and we hope to continue to watch his life evolve beyond football for many seasons to come.”
