Jeff Probst

IF

Say #What?  Survivor‘s post-Halloween episode tonight was fittingly part trick and part treat, ending on what may just be the most shocking and intense blindside yet this season.  Jeff Probst promised the game-play was going to ramp up as this season progressed, and he has uncharacteristically not over-hyped things thus far.

We’re going to get into everything that went down tonight, and analyze the shocking end of the episode that surely will create ripple effects through the rest of the season.  Here’s your second-to-last spoiler warning, so stop reading if you have yet to watch Episode 7 of Survivor.

IF

Are we seriously already to Episode 7 of this season of Survivor?  It seems like it was just yesterday when we were first introduced to the #FigTails show-mance, the same one that was finally up-ended last week when Jessica “Figgy” Figueroa was sent packing.  And we are now closer to the end of the season than we are to the beginning, with the actual merge looming probably in the next episode or two.  Jeff Probst promises that this week, the game will go “into a new gear” so let’s hope that new gear is not gridlock.

Revenge seems to be the mood of tonight’s episode, with Taylor now flying solo.  He will definitely need to figure out how to assimilate and play his own game moving forward, or he looks to be the easiest remaining target.  And remember in the era of the “voting bloc,” just because Adam went with Ken and Jessica to get Figgy out last week, doesn’t necessarily mean that will be the same alignment this week.

Wooohoo! Something tells me a lot of this fan base is going to be quite happy following the events of tonight’s Episode 6 of Survivor. The overall feel of this season definitely seems to have cooled off a bit over the past two weeks, but at least we got another solid episode that ended with some surprising results.

Before we get lost in this episode like David wandering through a blindfolded challenge, let me remind you that spoilers are abound if you read on past this paragraph.

Survivor recap

After last week’s fantastic, best episode of the season, things definitely calmed down a bit this week on Survivor. That’s not to say it wasn’t a great episode (OK, great may be a stretch, but it was a solid episode nonetheless). But with Jeff Probst announcing #dropyourbuffs tonight, much of the episode felt slow, as it took a lot of time familiarizing us with the new tribes that were formed. It ended with another interesting Tribal Council and the episode overall set the stage for what will be coming in the following weeks.

I’m about to break-down tonight’s Episode 5, so here’s your last chance to turn back, as spoilers are a-coming. You’ve been warned.

Survivor

Hard to believe it, but we’re nearly a third of the way through Survivor Season 33. With four episodes now in the rear-view, it’s time to look ahead to what will surely be the biggest game twist of the season thus far: The Tribe-Swap. Yes, as of tonight, if you identify as a Millennial or as a Gen-Xer, it’s only in your head, because as far as the game goes, that generational divide is a thing of the past.

Let’s get cued up for tonight’s big episode, and set the stage for what we might be in store for now that the tribe-swap is upon us.

Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen-X Recap

Daaaaang! Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen-X brought it tonight! In what was clearly the best episode yet this season, we had all sorts of excitement: An Idol was found, there was a epic Reward Challenge battle (#showdown4theages, if you will), and there were so many twists and turns with strategy leading up to and right on through Tribal Council, that someone summed up best by the end of the episode when they simply said, “Wow.”

You know it’s a hoppin’ night of Survivor when new lingo is introduced, as we all now know what #LiveTribal means (more on that later). And I’m pretty sure no one on Survivor has ever uttered the phrase: “They about to see some tatas tonight.” Yes, there were some eye-opening, potentially boneheaded maneuvers as well, but Episode 4 had pretty much everything I love about Survivor rolled up into one hot, juicy hour of television. It was almost enough to knock Jeff Probst off his feet (wait that happened too!).

We’re going to take a deep dive into tonight’s episode of Survivor and what it all means coming up. Here’s your last chance to turn back in case you haven’t yet seen Episode 4. Spoilers to come!

Survivor Episode 4 Preview

Just like that, we’re knee-deep into another season of Survivor, as we gear up for the fourth episode of Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen-X. Usually by now, we’ll have seen some sort of a tribe shake-up, or a switch, but CBS producers and Jeff Probst are so in love with the “generation battle” format that it appears they’re going to let it play out a bit more than other themes in the past. We normally get a merge at or around Episode 8, so it’s hard to believe we’re nearly a third of the way through already!

The preview for tonight’s new episode seems to be focused on a physical water Reward Challenge, which are always interesting to watch as our favorite (and not-so-favorite) contestants literally punch, kick, scrape, and claw at one another in order to come out on top. And now that both tribes have revealed their cards at their previous Tribal Councils, this is when it should start to get interesting.

Survivor: Millennials Vs. Gen X recap

No matter what generation you belong to, certain rules of Survivor apply to all ages. For starters, many of the “greats” that have played the game have been called by their last names: Hatch, Cochran, Savage, etc. (this is good news for you “Figgy” fans, as this is a play on her last name, Jessica Figueroa).

Another classic lesson learned though, is never get comfortable. Just when you think you’re on the top, you’re usually sharing the screen with a lower-third graphic that reads #blindside. Such was the case tonight, on the latest episode of Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen-X – an episode that saw the bottom-feeders fighting for survival and those resting on their laurels get a rude awakening.

Here’s your “spoiler” warning, so if you have yet to see Episode 3 please do so and then check back here! Beyond this point we will be talking about all of the juicy details of what transpired during the episode. You’ve been warned!
