Last night was the premiere episode of the 6th and final season of Jersey Shore. We'll have an awesome recap of last night's two hour kick off later today, but first we have photos from last night's premiere party in NYC.
It’s time for an update on those crazy thirty-year-old adults kids from the Jersey Shore! On tap today, we have have a ridiculously rich fist pumper, a very relieved former pill popper, and the announcement of the premiere date for what will likely be the gang’s (or at least Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s) final season of the show.
Forget GTL, everyone’s favorite future pseudo uncle needs a new catchphrase–GTM2, as in gym, tan, make millions. Forbes just released its list of highest paid deejays, and Pauly D was number 7 in the rankings. The easy-going prankster can clearly spin some turntables as it’s being reported he made $11 million in the last twelve months. Yes, you read that correctly! How does one learn to spin tunes? I could surely be a blogger by day and a deejay by night, right? Who needs sleep? Given that Pauly has his own spin-off, a line of clothing, his name on some tanning lotion, and a set of headphones he markets with 50 Cent, it’s safe to say that Pauly is more than just an orange face a pretty face. He’s a cash cow with gravity defying hair!
No good deed goes unpunished! Following last week’s epic Jersey Shorebar brawl, the cast members are being taken to court! Justin Viterito and Devon Chichele, two of the victims in the fight, are planning a massive lawsuit against Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, J-Woww‘s boyfriend Roger Matthews, MTV, Viacom (the company that owns MTV), the bar’s bouncer, and Bamboo Bar where the brawl took place!
The fight began innocently enough, but quickly spiraled out of control. According to TMZ, Justin Viterito was drinking with Ronnie and Roger but when Devon Chichele approached to find his friend a member of the Jersey Shore entourage “pushed him in the back,” says their lawyer Matthew DiBrino.
Mr. DiBrino alleges that Justin went to help Devon but was physically assaulted by Ronnie in the process after the bouncer held Justin in a headlock allowing Ronnie to hit him in the face.
It’s obviously Jersey Shoreweek because these guidos cannot get themselves out of the news! I guess MTV is desperate to drum up some publicity for the new season which many thought would be boring considering a newly sober Situation and a very pregnant Snooki. Luckily, the drinking members of the crew still know how to throw down – literally.
Anyway, enough about bar fights and on to smooshing. Despite her knocked up and engaged status, Snooki is still managing to have scandals galore. The guidette has recently been the unfortunate (for all of us) subject of a nude photo leak. Oops! The age old adage about sex tapes and nudie pics continues to ring true – if you don’t want to them to get out – don’t take them!
The photos were taken pre-pregnancy and naturally everyone believes the culprit of the release is ex-boyfriend with a vendetta (and a famewhore inclination) Emilio Masella.
After a lackluster fifth season with decent ratings, a few folks expected Jersey Shore to ride off into the shore sunset. However, the show still dominates its time slot on Thursday nights and MTV decided to bring the show back for the sixth time. Another factor in MTV’s decision to take us to the shore again was likely the continuing media blitz on Snooki‘s recently announced pregnancy, now in its fourth month.
Last week, news leaked that The Situationhad entered rehab for a prescription drug problem and alcohol addiction. One might think pregnancy and addiction issues would prevent cast mates from appearing, but as it turns out, MTV expects all cast members to return.
However before you think Jersey Shore will turn into a new version of Sober House, TMZ is reporting that MTV plans on “phasing out” Snooki and The Situation and replacing them with “newer, wilder castmates.” In other words, replacing them with people who will get drunk at work and still pee on themselves at Karma.
Both castmates will allegedly receive limited screen time. While, I might believe this rumor in Snooki’s case (she is already filming her spin-off and a pregnant Snooki hanging out at the ramshackle shore house might be too weird for viewers), the Situation may insist on returning full-time. A new report on RadarOnline alleges that he does not plan on giving up his lucrative club appearances after he finishes up his current rehab stay.
It’s the late nights that may be contributing to Mike’s problems. A source describes his problem, “Mike was in a vicious cycle of not sleeping because of the illegal substances that he was taking, so he began using prescription pills to help him sleep.” This is consistent with the rumors that have persisted throughout the years of Mike using cocaine. Per the insider, Mike was the one that checked himself in, saying “The good news is that he was the one that wanted to get help and checked into rehab. Hopefully with the proper treatment, Mike will be able to lead a sober life.”
Unfortunately, his definition of “sober life” includes hanging out at clubs. An insider says, “Mike doesn’t want to give up his paid club promotional appearances: he loves the attention that he gets from the ladies and the money is great.” Who can blame him? It would be hard for anyone to give that up. The source continues, “Mike leads a very expensive life and he doesn’t want his lifestyle to suffer because of his decision to go to rehab. He is very upset that stint in rehab has become public knowledge, because he doesn’t want it to affect his bottom line. Mike’s brother handles his club appearances and he has been telling club managers that Mike has no plans on giving up the nightlife.”
This is Mike’s second attempt at going sober. Previously, he had been to a hospital in Florida before his début on Jersey Shore. Since the first try didn’t work, it’s sad to hear that Mike might not be willing to make the lifestyle changes to sustain his sobriety, like leaving the party atmosphere of the shore house and avoiding night clubs.
His father tells Radar, “For me, after years of dealing with his addiction, years of dealing with all the bulls**t, this wasn’t a 16-year-old kid. The guy was a 27-year-old man. I was just hoping he would be able to stand up.”

TELL US: DO YOU THINK THE SHOW WILL SUFFER WITH LESS SNOOKI AND SITUATION? DO YOU THINK MIKE WILL STAY SOBER?
According to MTV, their mega hit show Jersey Shore will be back for a sixth season!
Even better, the entire cast, including a pregnant Snooki, are all set to return.
“America’s favorite housemates will all return to their home-away-from-home, and the house dynamic is headed into unchartered territory… as their lives outside the “Shore” take off in exciting new directions,” said MTV in a press release. “While things will definitely be a little different this time when they hit the boardwalk, their trademark hilarity and family dysfunction will remain the same.”
Filming on the new season is set to begin this summer in Seaside Heights, NJ, when the Snooks will be in her third trimester.
This news is a bit surprising, as Snooki, 24, recently stated she did not want to live in the shore house while pregnant. “I’m not living in that house being pregnant. I don’t want to be one of those moms who’s pregnant in a club. It’s disgusting,” said Snooki to UsWeekly earlier this month.
It will definitely be interesting to see how MTV decides to handle Snooki’s pregnancy.
TELL US – HAPPY THAT JERSEY SHORE IS COMING BACK FOR A NEW SEASON? SHOULD MTV HIRE A NEW CAST? SHOULD A PREGNANT SNOOKI BE LIVING IN THE SHORE HOUSE?
After the city of Hoboken refused to let Jersey Shore stars Snooki and JWoww film, the people of Jersey City took them in like tanned refugees. In a report posted by NJ.com, Jersey City mayor, Jeremiah Healy, was excited to have the gals on-board, thinking their presence would “boost Jersey City’s reputation and spur the local economy.”
Unfortunately, some establishments in town are rejecting the spin-off. One bar, LITM, reportedly put up an anti-Snooki sign so everyone can know the guidette is not welcome there. Bar owner, Will Kelly said that filming would be “intrusive” and Barcade owner, Paul Kermizian thinks the high-end environment of his half-bar, half-arcade club, Barcade would not mix with the one associated with Jersey Shore, which makes me think he hasn’t seen the show.
Right now, however, which club the girls will turn into their Jersey Shore version of the infamous Karma might be the last thing on their minds. While they were due to start filming Tuesday, shooting has been delayed, with no comment from 495 productions. The ladies have been silent about the matter on their social media accounts. Could they be on strike, holding out for a bigger paycheck? Only time will tell.
In other news, with this spin-off slated to start shooting and the upcoming premiere of The Pauly D Project, the future of Jersey Shore, itself ,may be up in the air. On a recent appearance on Live With Kelly, both Sammi and Deena said there was no news on a sixth season. Sammi said, “We haven’t heard anything.” Both Deena and Sammi said they would “love to film again” with Deena adding, “I pray we film again.”
Previously, we reported that there were rumors of moving the cast to Las Vegas or Australia, which might give the show the boost it needs. The fifth season, currently airing on MTV, has had lower ratings than earlier ones, and just isn’t as interesting or fun as the ones before. Half the cast seems completely checked out (JWoww in particular, seems incredibly bored) and the other half of the cast is still doing the same stuff they’ve done for ages in an attempt to stay on the air.
And finally, Snooki recently tweeted some pics of her and JWoww as the good folks from Sophisticate’s Hairstyle attempted, keyword being attempted, to give the Jersey gals a classy hair makeover! Did they succeed? The photos are below and we’ll let you be the judge!
UPDATE - A representative from the LITM bar tells Reality Tea “LITM has never displayed an “anti-Snooki” message, banner, or sign above its bar. Proprietor Jelynne Jardiniano’s decision to not participate as a filming location for this reality series is based in LITM’s commitment to maintaining the comfort of our customer base.”

While Seaside Heights, New Jersey has allowed the cast of Jersey Shore to film, “work,” and get wasted night after night in multiple seasons of the infamous reality show, their fellow Jersey residents in Hoboken will be having none of the macaroni rascal treatment.
In a letter posted to the City of Hoboken’s official website, Mayor Dawn Zimmer announced the Hoboken Film Commission denied MTV’s request for a permit to film Snookiand Jwoww‘s upcoming spin-off, citing “public safety and quality of life concerns.”
The letter contains a detailed explanation of the request, which stated it would take 700 hours of filming to produce one hour of programming! One of the reasons the permit was denied was the request was made for a 24 hour permit, and Hoboken already has a law in place which prohibits filming after 11 p.m.
Given that the Jersey Shore kids love to party and Hoboken has a thriving club scene, this also presented a major issue. The report goes on to say: “The constant presence of such a production would be an attractive nuisance causing crowds to assemble at every hour of the day and night…unacceptable lessening of the quality of life for the local residents and businesses.”
The letter also indicates that 495 Productions, the team behind Jersey Shore, had filmed in Hoboken previously without a permit, using “informal verbal agreements …involving payments to individuals.” The mayor was not pleased and issued the following warning in her letter:
“As the mayor of a community that has experienced significant corruption in the recent past, I write to put you, 495 Productions, MTV, and Viacom on formal notice that there will be zero tolerance for this kind of approach in the City of Hoboken. Any attempts to film in a manner that is not permitted without a permit will be dealt with immediately and aggressively by the City of Hoboken.”
Yikes, Mayor Zimmer is serious! In response, Snooki sent out the following message to New Jersey Governer Chris Christie on her Twitter: “I will not be voting for Chris Christie. Love always, the “buffoons” from that degrading Jersey Shore show.”
Since Snooki is from New York, and does not legally reside in Jersey, we don’t think Gov. Christie has much to worry about.
Even after the disastrous Italy season, Jersey Shore is still looking for other places where the gang can rest their booze-soaked, tan heads for upcoming seasons! In a recent interview, Ronnie says, “I believe that they were looking at Vegas and Australia, two places I would love to go. I don’t know if we would make it back from Vegas, but I’m pretty sure we would love to go to Vegas.”
Surprising no one, Ronnie says he will go just about anywhere with the show: “I want to do this as long as the fans keep watching.I will do it in Depends and a walker.”
And if you show up to the club in your walker, we might just keep watching. Finally, Snooki tweeted a photo yesterday of herself with JWoww and Mob Wives stars Drita and Carla during a radio interview! That pic is below.
