The Real Housewives of New York City 3

So last night’s episode of Real Housewives of NYC was rather intense. Almost to the point of draining, I can only imagine how the women involved felt, if I as a viewer, felt somewhat drained after watching. Overall, it as a very good episode.

So in doing this recap, I will just go down the list and talk about each housewife. It’s a long recap so I’ll get right to it.

Ramona - We’ll start off with Ramona. This woman makes it really difficult to like her. I decided last night that I have a like/dislike relationship with her as a viewer. One minute you can’t believe her outrageous behavior (her comments to Bethenny during their walk), and then the next minute she apologizes and then says something insightful( calling Jill out on being a hypocrite for planning the Kelly and Bethenny talk/”ambush” last season). It’s definitely a Ramonacoaster. At the end of the day, it’s somewhat starting to get old. I mean, what is really wrong with this woman? She lacks tact and is in dire need of a filter. You learn around the age of 10 that you can’t just blurt out everything you think, so I’m not exactly sure why Ramona, at age 54, hasn’t mastered that art quite yet. I mean does she have some sort of chemical imbalance or something? Sighs, her words to Bethenny last night were really mean and uncalled for. Her attack of Kelly weeks ago about her boob job was really mean and uncalled for as well. Ramona is going to have to learn someday that just because you apologize for something doesn’t make it okay. The whole I have diarrhea of the mouth thing is getting old. I think it’s time she take some Pepto-Bismol and learn to keep her mouth shut. She says these things, apologizes, and then does it again the next day….

Jill – On to Jill, the new villain of the season. I remember Bethenny’s appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens talk show after the premiere of the first episode this season. Andy asked her if she had any remorse about the end of her friendship with Jill, Bethenny said she had absolutely no regrets. At the time, I thought that was mean and cold of Bethenny. After watching the last few episodes, I must say I fully understand why she felt that way. I agree with Alex, Jill likes to keep score, and is definitely very unforgiving. I really liked Jill the first season of the show, and didn’t start to not like her until last season, especially after what I thought was very mean behavior from her during last year’s reunion show. What I’ve noticed about Jill is her NEED to always dig at others, and put them down. It’s like she needs to bring others down, and always make sure they are never on the same level as she is. For example, she seemed to take some perverse pleasure in letting Kelly know her playboy issue was not for the 40th anniversary, and ofcourse letting Alex know just how “awful” her kids are.

Plus I’m not sure I’m buying her tears from last night, it seemed a bit forced. She was so cold to Bethenny last night, and I’m sure Bethenny has done and said some hurtful things to Jill, but I highly doubt Jill is completely innocent. I honestly think her vindictiveness, and the fact that she was so hell bent on “destroying” Bethenny was why she was so unwilling to forgive. Jill is simply not a nice person to sum this up. It’s quite ironic that she’s mentioned several times this season that she is “scared” of Bethenny. Which is interesting coming from someone who has tried to rally everyone on her side, making sure that even in Bethenny’s deepest darkest hour, she will be left standing alone, with no friend and no “troops.” No Jill, Bethenny is the one who should be scared of YOU and your juvenile behavior. You are a mean spirited, jealous and a very vindictive person.

Kelly – Oh Kelly Kelly Kelly… I think Ramona’s comment on next week’s episode kinda sums this up, “I can’t talk to you, you have no brain.” A bit mean for Ramona to say, but honestly I don’t understand this girl, or oops I mean woman. She is 41 years old after all, even though she acts like 12. I’m just confused, I mean is she a moron? brain dead? I’m literally scratching my head as I type this. The things she says, the way she acts, added to the things other people say that just always seems to completely go over her head. I don’t get her and find her exhausting and really weird. For someone who claims to have a degree from the prestigious Columbia, I find her quite moronic. And yes Bethenny was really awful to her in the press last year, but to completely blame Bethenny for damaging her reputation is something I will have to disagree with. Her behavior and bizzaro actions on the show is what damaged her rep. I will add that Kelly’s saving grace is the fact she doesn’t seem to be a mean or vicious person.

The Real Housewives of New York City 3

There seems to be a recurring theme with this season’s the Real Housewives of New York City, every episode seems to bring us some new Jill vs. Bethenny drama, and tonight will be no different.

First, we will see Kelly awkwardly attempt to photograph random people on the streets of NYC that she deems fashionable for an article she’s writing for Gotham Magazine. On the other side of town, LuAnn remains close with Jill, who is quickly becoming this season’s villain, when she stays as a house guest at Jill’s house. The hot topic of discussion is Bethenny and Kelly’s new-found truce.

Bethenny learns that her father, who is now deceased, is very sick, leading Alex to pull out all the stops to make Jill aware and help repair their fractured friendship. Bethenny then makes a desperate last ditch attempt to talk to Jill face-to-face, which will ofcourse lead to another blow up. A video preview is below.

In other NYC news, The DailyBeast did a new interview with Jill Zarin, during which she made a rather interesting comment about Bravo wanting the housewives to create some drama, or else risk leaving the show. “We were told, in no uncertain terms—and I wouldn’t say it’s affected me, but it’s affected some of the other girls—that if they didn’t bring it on, they wouldn’t be holding an apple,” said Jill, referring to the promo shot that shows each Housewife holding an apple. “There was a lot of pressure to bring on drama—this coming off New Jersey and Atlanta.” Jill however made it clear no part of the show is scripted.

Andy Cohen, Bravo’s senior vice president of original programming, responded to Jill’s comments with the following, “We cast outgoing people who we know are going to be fun to watch. We never tell people what to do or say—we just want people to be themselves. The women who ‘hold the apple’ are all outgoing, driven women, which is why they are on the show in the first place. All the drama you see is real and completely brought on by their own personal interactions with each other—you can’t make this stuff up!”

Jill might have a point. After all, DeShawn Snow was fired from the Real Housewives of Atlanta for not being dramatic enough. Interestingly though, Jill’s comments bear a striking similarity to what a show “source” revealed to the NYDailyNews back in February about Alex and Simon. The article claimed Alex and Simon would be getting the axe from the show next season because they were boring. The source also claimed, “In the upcoming season, Alex picks a lot of fights, and it looks like it’s an attempt to keep her story line relevant,” the insider says. “But it ended up seeming inauthentic.”

The NYDailyNews is the same publication that published the Bethenny friendless story that Bethenny accused Jill of planting in the last episode . Simon also blogged last week that he suspected Jill was behind he and Alex’s story. He might have a point…

Bethenny Frankel Honeymoon

Bethenny Frankel has spent the past week enjoying her honeymoon with new hubby Jason Hoppy.

The Real Housewives of New York City star tweeted days ago, “honeymoon is magical!”  Paparazzi caught up with  Bethenny as she honeymooned in St. Barts.  And despite being eight months pregnant, Bethenny wasn’t shy about throwing on a bikini.  More photos of Bethenny’s honeymoon are below.

In other housewives news, Bethenny finally blogged about last week’s episode of the NYC Housewives. Here’s what she had to say about Jill and LuAnn:

On Why She Was Upset About The Article – “There is so much nonsense, and I signed up for it. I will never act like some victim. Don’t hate the player. Hate the game. I just didn’t like feeling that a friend had discussed our private matters with everyone in the world besides me… I didn’t care about the item. I cared about how it got there.”

Her Feelings On Jill’s Email To Kelly – “Jill’s email to Kelly is all part of the “get a hobby” advice. Who even has time to worry about who other people are associating with? I can’t even get over how juvenile picking teams is. I can’t even dignify it with an opinion. it truly doesn’t affect my life whatsoever.”

Her Thoughs On Jill’s Behavior – “As I’ve said on the show, Jill has never met an argument she doesn’t like. When she feels she has a case, she continues to belabor that point to rally troops against her enemy of the moment. For various reasons, she was very excited to have something to use against me over and over again. Everyone has their way of operating and this is how Jill functions.”

Her Feelings On LuAnn – “I wasn’t surprised at all to find out that Jill allowed LuAnn to listen to our conversation. I don’t expect anything whatsoever from LuAnn, so I am never disappointed nor surprised.”

And there you have it. Bethenny also added she has no hope whatsoever for a reconciliation with Jill. Can you blame her?

Bethenny Frankel March 31

OK magazine has now released the official photos from Bethenny Frankel’s wedding.

The Real Housewives of NYC star tied the knot with Jason Hoppy at the prestigious Four Seasons in NYC this Sunday. “It’s so cliché, but it was the best night of my life!” Bethenny tells OK!. “It was just like Jason and me — sentimental, fun, absurd at times. I didn’t know it was possible to be this happy.” The photo gallery is below.

NYC Housewives Recap – Last night’s episode of the NYC Housewives brought us more Jill vs. Bethenny. In case you haven’t been keeping up, the two have yet to make up, and Jill Zarin even went as far as to refer to Bethenny’s wedding as “circus like” just days ago.

Now back to this episode, we see Bethenny get upset over an article in a NY newspaper detailing the demise of her friendship with Jill. Bethenny suspects Jill planted the article, and something tells me she’s right.

Bethenny then calls Jill in an attempt to mend their friendship, Jill puts Bethenny on speaker phone and doesn’t tell her LuAnn is in listening. Things take a turn for the worse and Jill declares their friendship “done.” Bethenny, who didn’t seem to realize just how severe their “fight” was, is seen crying and being very emotional.

What really stood out in this episode to me was the email Jill sent Kelly, basically scolding her for befriending Bethenny and trying to pressure her to be only Team Jill. Seriously is Jill still in high school? So Kelly is “not allowed” to talk to Bethenny if she wants to be friends with Jill. That email showed Jill’s true colors, and I must say, they are far from pretty. This, in addition to Jill saving Bethenny’s “you need a hobby” voicemail and playing it for who ever is willing to listen, continues to show just how petty Jill is. I would love to hear Jill’s defense to sending Kelly that email.

I must also say kudos to Kelly for confronting Bethenny and calling her out for being some what of a hypocrite. I’m a Bethenny fan but I agreed with Kelly all the way last night. Bethenny shouldn’t have been whining about being bashed in the press considering she did that to Kelly last year, with every chance she had. This moment of confrontation brought us a “real Kelly.” It was good to see her being human for once and not the typical ditz she usually is.

However seeing Kelly throw herself all over the Playboy interviewer brought us back the old Kelly, and quite frankly the whole charade was a bit embarrassing to watch. I mean the poor guy had to ask her out, she was ALL OVER him. Kelly is then seen later in the episode saying that she decided not to go out with him after all. Sure Kelly, but something tells me Mr. Playboy never called her, but you be the judge of that.

What causes tonight’s tension between the two? Apparently Bethenny discovers a gossip article about her damaged relationship with Jill and suspects it has Jill’s fingerprints all over it, leading Bethenny to then call Jill in an attempt to repair the damage between them.

We also get to see Alex invite Ramona, Bethenny and Kelly to help her pick designers for Brooklyn fashion week, but during the meeting, Kelly confronts Ramona and Bethenny about how they treat her – causing the meeting to end on a sour note. Meanwhile, Kelly is elated when she meets a potential new suitor who must interview her for her Playboy article and spread.

Bethenny Frankel Wedding PictureJill Zarin NYC

Ok Magazine, which bought the exclusive rights to Bethenny Frankel’s wedding photos, has released the first picture of Bethenny as a bride. A bigger photo of this is below.

According to reports, the Real Housewives of NYC star wore a beautiful Amsale wedding gown during her wedding to Jason Hoppy at the prestigious Manhattan Four Seasons.  With good publicity also comes bad press, and the latest is a report claiming OK magazine only paid Bethenny $10,000 for her wedding photos.

The report claims, Bethenny’s people were requesting $100,000 from magazines wanting to publish the photos, but apparently no one was willing to pay that much so she had to settle for $10,000, and not the $25,000 fee that had been widely reported. Bethenny’s rep however denies the story, saying both the $10,000 and $25,000 amounts are false.

In other news, Bethenny’s former BFF Jill Zarin appeared on The Insider show yesterday and spoke out on the demise of her friendship with Bethenny, and not being invited to her wedding.  Jill even went as far as to refer to Bethenny’s wedding as “circus like.”

“I guess I wasn’t surprised I wasn’t invited, but I was hurt,” Jill says of Bethenny’s wedding, later adding, “I felt bad on Sunday. It was a rough day.”

And how did she feel about seeing pictures of her co-stars Alex McCord and Ramona Singer at the wedding? “I didn’t think that they were real friends in real life, but you know what I just think the whole thing was just a little bit circus like,” sniped Jill. Ouch.

As for why their friendship ended, Jill said, “For me it became toxic, she just started to get mean and go below the belt.”

Bethenny and Jason

Bethenny Frankel has become a real “housewife!” The Real Housewives of New York City star tied the knot yesterday with Jason Hoppy.

Bethenny tweeted Monday morning, “I’m a real housewife! On way to honeymoon. best night of my life. your messages were so beautiful & sentimental. have a great week tweeps!”

As for the wedding details, the wedding took place Sunday afternoon at the Four Seasons Hotel in NYC. Guests included castmates Alex McCord, Ramona Singer and “Today” show co-host Hoda Kotb. Ramona told People.com, that the wedding was the “Rolls Royce of weddings!”

As we previously reported, Bethenny’s former BFF Jill Zarin was not invited. Jill has however wished Bethenny all the best in the press.

It has also been reported that the wedding ,which cost over an estimated $200,000 was paid for by Bravo, as it was filmed for Bethenny’s upcoming reality show – Bethenny’s Getting Married. Bethenny might have also gotten a deal with a magazine for the right to publish her wedding photos. Bidding for that was said to be around $25,000.

Bethenny, 39, met businessman Jason back in 2008. The two are expecting their first child in June.

No word yet on if Bethenny will now be known as Bethenny Hoppy.

In a new interview, Bethenny Frankel, star of the Real Housewives of New York City, speaks out on her castmates, touches on her feud with Jill Zarin, and also discusses being slammed by Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger. She’s getting married today by the way.

Excerpts from Bethenny’s interview with Zap2it below -

Jill really took that “get a hobby” voice message to heart. What do you think about her keeping it that long and the fact she plays it for people?
I know. That to me is shocking. Yeah, at a certain level, I have trust in people. So, I was just completely shocked. The thing is I say it got disproportionate to what it originally was. It escalated. I meant everything I said on that message. She didn’t play the entire message. I’m not sure why she didn’t want everyone to hear the whole message. I meant everything I said, but the playing for other people is like somebody opening up your journal. I didn’t blast it out to 20 people.

Knowing how much she cares about that line, have you apologized at least for that part of the message or are you going to?

You know what I say on marriages and relationships? It’s never about what it’s about. Something small happens and there’s something much more massive underneath it. Sometimes the aftershock is worse than the original earthquake kind of thing. I think that what happened after became so much more enormous, as you’ll see throughout the season, that I was reaching out. To get to the place where I am now, where it’s become a much different thing. Other things were said. Other things were done. It really became a whole other issue.

Kelly recently posed for Playboy. Would you ever pose for Playboy?
At this point in my life, not even because I’m pregnant, that would not be a good business decision for me. With business, it’s like a thread. Everything needs to adhere to that line. There would be no reason, no upside to posing for Playboy for me. It would not be good for my brand. I think for somebody like a Heidi Montag, where she was sort of on her way down, I think that was a good thing to do. It depends on what your endgame is. Posing nude for PETA, that was for charity and not really about business, but it wouldn’t hurt my brand. I just don’t think that posing for Playboy has anything to do with anything that I am.

Last season, you had a problem with Ramona’s statement that Jill likes to adopt the underdog and she was referring to you. Do you see some truth to that statement now?
It happens with girlfriends all the time. When you’re down and out, people rally around you. It’s easy for you to be the one that’s the needy one. When you’re not the underdog anymore, things shift. Yeah, I do think there was something to what Ramona said. I didn’t see it at the time or I didn’t choose to see it, but I can understand why she said that. Absolutely.
