I’m over it. You’re over it. My neighbor, who doesn’t even watch The Real Housewives Of New Jersey, is over it. But Siggy Flicker is NOT OVER IT, people! Yes, we’re talking about Boca. And this week, Siggy decides to take her juvenile antics to a lower level of pre-K when she literally sticks her tongue out at Margaret Josephs to drive the point home. The point being…nanny nanny boo boo? Not to be outdone by the Most Talented Person On The Planet, Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice decide to scrap as well. Whether their drama is real or fake is still up for debate, but there’s no doubt that mutual resentment is buried deep in the basement of each woman’s respective McMansion.
At Margaret’s house, she’s returning from Vegas just in time to “wash the puss and the pits.” Marge Sr. is happy to hear Marge Jr.’s success in getting her shoe line licensed. She also got to steal some hotel slippers, so the trip was a big win. Margaret didn’t have time to by her husband, Joe, anything in Vegas though, so he’s grumpy. She thinks he’s a stage 5 clinger and needs him to back-that-sh*t-up when she walks in the door. She also needs Siggy to take several seats, especially after she hears about her continued cake drama at the purse party. “This is like high school,” says Marge. “I love it.”
Now Danielle is back (thank god) and Teresa is a big part of that. Danielle even described their friendship as “perfect” in recent interviews. Again, that is something that no one ever thought would happen.
It seems we must face facts this season on The Real Housewives Of New Jersey: Siggy Flicker has decided this is her “moment” and she’s making sure everyone knows it, especially Margaret Josephs. But Margaret isn’t one to back off when Siggy huffs and puffs that she’ll pull her pigtails out! No, no, no. She came to PLAY, and I’m loving her for it. Margaret also shows us a peek into her wacky world of Claire’s Boutique inventory when she throws a launch party for her bag line, which Siggy and Dolores Catania refuse to attend. Call Siggy’s crab cakes salty, will they? Hmmph! She’ll be eating them alone from now on, then. In pigtails!
Last night began with the ladies at home after a drama-filled Boca vaycay. Melissa Gorga’s birthday cake was not able to make the trip home because – just in case anyone in the tri-state area hasn’t heard yet – Teresa Giudice threw that sh*t on the ground. (R.I.P. $1K cake!) Siggy is, by the way, still not over it – not by a long shot. The town of Boca Raton is very much over Siggy, though, I’d imagine.
As Kathy Wakile once said, Real Housewives of New Jersey really is “the Teresa show.” RHONJhistorians recall that Teresa Giudice’scousin declared that during a reunion episode argument and she didn’t mean it in a flattering way, but the quote still stands. Teresa Giudice is Real Housewives of New Jersey. Real Housewives of New Jersey is Teresa Giudice.
They even delayed filming seven months to wait for Teresa to come home from prison. Hell, they had a three-part episode where Teresa talked to her family via speaker phone. That’s right: SPEAKER PHONE. Teresa was able to carry this show via phone call, so of course anyone with eyes and ears knows that she is THE queen of the show. Like her or not, she has been and will always be the center piece of this show. With that said, everyone on the show does what they can to be in her good graces, so it’s interesting to know what Teresa thinks of all of her potential soldiers costars.
After last week’s premiere, I felt like the ladies of The Real Housewives Of New Jersey were finally bringing their A-game to Bravo. Like, maybe a producer sat them down and had a Friday Night Lights pep talk with them before cameras started rolling? Because the ingredient-zes in this year’s Sunday gravy seem just right! Maybe it’s the addition of powerhouse-in-pigtails Margaret Josephs, or maybe it’s the shock of seeing Danielle Staub’s face back on our TV screens without waiting for someone to spontaneously punch it? I don’t know. But I’m here for it!
It’s a new day in the Garden State, and that means everyone is suddenly singing the praises of ex-villain, Danielle Staub, including Real Housewives Of New Jersey’s very own Melissa Gorga. The season eight premiere set viewers up for some interesting dynamics to come, including Siggy Flicker being batsh*t cray-cray, the introduction of pigtail-bedecked Margaret Josephs (who actually seems kind of bada$$ and potentially awesome), and the return of Danielle. Melissa, for one, couldn’t be more delighted that she’s no longer the villain with this new setup!
But the first episode also replayed the sad loss of Joe Gorga and Teresa Giudice’s beloved mother, Antonia, who passed away earlier this year. Melissa admits it was painful to watch it all back again. “Watching the memories of my mother-in-law and hearing her voice brought instant tears to my eyes. She was a wonderful woman, and her life was taken way too young. I never thought I would see the day that Joe broke down and couldn’t work or get out of bed. He was devastated and heartbroken for weeks and still is.”
We start the premiere super-sized episode on a sad note for Teresa and Joe Gorga, who lost their mom this past year after she contracted pneumonia. Teresa cries that her mom was a fighter, but caring and loving too. She would want her family to be strong after her passing, which is what Teresa plans to be as she handles her four daughters, Audriana, Milania, Gabriella, and Gia, solo while Joe Giudice is serving his prison sentence. Or away at “camp,” as the ruse goes.
Say what you want about Teresa Giudice, but the woman definitely knows how to survive and she usually does it all with a smile on her face while keeping her (very public) problems to herself. Throughout the years Teresa has been all about her relationship with Joe Giudice, sticking by him and has insisted that she would never divorce him… until now.
Teresa isn’t saying that she is going to leave the man who she has called “Juicy Joe,” but now she is actually open to the possibility. Will it actually happen? I guess we’ll have to watch and see, but both of Teresa’s parents told the Real Housewives of New Jersey star that they would be on board with the idea if that’s what she decided to do.
