Joey Lauren

This week on Princesses: Long Island, the Hamptons weekend continues, and it's beyond horrible.

In case you forgot: Erica Gimbel slept with Casey Cohen's boyfriend in high school, and Chanel "Coco" Omari, the bringer togetherer of this group, has invited both of them to the Hamptons for the weekend. They're all adults, so not a big deal, right? Not a chance in hell! Their first dinner ends with Casey at the dinner table, holding her head and sobbing, and Erica in the backyard, puffing away and looking like a regurgitated hair ball.

Casey is clearly cray cray, and Chanel, Ashlee White, and Joey stare at her accordingly. She leaves the room to search for the marbles she has lost but finds Erica instead. Casey takes this opportunity to remind the whore that she has ruined her life. Like, Erica slept with Casey's boyfriend well over ten years ago, and it still consumes her thoughts daily.

My first three thoughts: Where does Andy Cohen find these people? I also cannot figure out why Joey Lauren, a seemingly normal, classy young woman, is friends with them. And I am going to need a lot of wine to get through the rest of the season.

Princesses Long Island’s Ratings Drop; Also, Gretchen Rossi Offers The New Reality TV Stars Her Best Advice

We're two episodes into Princesses: Long Island, and I have to admit that I don't hate the show. Sure, my summer TV standards are ridiculously low, but I fully expected these self-proclaimed princesses to annoy me to no end.

Mostly, I find the cast, Chanel Omari, Erica Gimbel, Amanda Bertoncini, Ashlee White, Joey Lauren, and Casey Cohen, to be entertaining. I mean, it's Bravo. I don't expect mature, well-rounded characters. I expect train wrecks, and this cast delivers! For me, what makes Princesses enjoyable to watch is that there's no one princess ruining the dynamic of the show, trying to be the queen. (see Big Rich Atlanta and Married to Medicine)

However, not many agree with me, as the show's ratings have dropped. Over 1.2 million viewers checked out the premiere of Princesses: Long Island but only 887,000 came back for seconds. In the event that Bravo renews the show, Real Housewives of Orange County star Gretchen Rossi has offered the princesses some advice on "living authentically" on reality TV.

This week on Princesses: Long Island, Chanel "Coco" Omari invites the princesses, including newcomer Casey Cohen, to the Hamptons to experience a traditional Shabbat dinner. Also, to search for husbands, because their wine-soaked ovaries are not getting any younger.

But first, Amanda Bertoncini and Joey Lauren must kinda, sorta, not really deal with the fallout from last week's drunken pool party. Amanda's annoying voice opens the show, sharing, "A slap in the face heals but a harsh word is always remembered," adding, "I'm surprised that half the girls in Long Island don't have black eyes." #lifelessonsbybravo

So, Joey meets Amanda to talk about the Jeff/Sara/Facebook drama, and she kind of apologizes for, um, something. However, Joey refuses to accept any responsibility for the hurtful words that were said or the drinks that were thrown, and Amanda still believes that Joey should have at least asked her friend to leave the party. In the end, Amanda accepts Joey's apology, but she vows to keep her eye on her in the future.

Bravo sure does love a train wreck. I mean, what was THAT?!

Princesses: Long Island follows six young (on paper) women from affluent areas of Long Island who "live pampered lifestyles in the comfort of their parents' homes and at the expense of their bank accounts." It's like a bizarre mix of Jersey Shore, Seinfeld, and Real Housewives of New Jersey

We meet Chanel (Coco) Omari, the headband loving social connector of the group, Erica Gimbel, the wild child who drinks too much, Ashlee White, the "if I can't wear stilettos, I can't go" character, Amanda Bertoncini, the one who met her creepy older boyfriend on a train, and Joey Lauren, the "poor" girl from the "ghetto" of Freeport.

Casey Cohen, the sixth princess, reportedly shows up next week.

Princesses: Long Island - Season 1

Bravo is unfurling upon us a whole new slew of reality television fame grasping hopefuls. In their newest attempt to woo us with overly indulged women behaving in questionable manners Princesses: Long Island will be debuting this June!

Bravo describes the show as a unique look into the lives of pampered spoiled rich girls who went to college for the MRS degrees, it didn't work out, so they moved back in with their parents and waited until Mr. Right came along to fund their extravagant lifestyles. Ok, so maybe that's just the description I'M giving the show.

The official show synopsis is below:

“Princesses: Long Island” documents the lives of six college-educated young women from affluent areas of “Longuyland” who live pampered lifestyles in the comfort of their parents’ homes and at the expense of their bank accounts. The series offers a window into their family dynamics and personal lives filled with labels, luxury and love trials. The young women face pressure from their families and friends to find husbands and to settle down. Will these members of the boomerang generation find their Prince Charming or are they forever content with their co-dependent relationships with their parents?
