On last night’s Love & Hip Hop, it was the Producer’s Tell All! I have to say I didn’t hate the format as much as I thought I would. With the ladies not yelling over one another, it was easier to get more questions answered… and they seemed to ask the questions viewers would want to know, aka no John Salley softballs!

The show’s executive producer Mona Scott-Young reveals that because <del>one</del> several cast members now refuse to be in the same room together, coughs Chrissy, the show has to forgo the traditional reunion format. Instead, viewers are treated to a behind the scenes look at the inner-workings of the show as well as one-on-one interviews with the cast.

First up, Jim Jones! The man, the myth, the dude at the center of a lot of the ladies’ drama. This season’s new cast mate, Yandy Smith was the rapper’s manager for the past eight years, and she was supposedly brought on at the request of his girlfriend Chrissy Lampkin. However, quickly, the ladies began feuding, with Jim caught in the middle. It resulted in a total breakdown of Jim and Yandy’s professional relationship which we watched play out over the course of the season.

CLICK THE CONTINUE READING BUTTON TO READ THE REST!

Jim seems very disinterested in being interviewed by Mona. He’s long voiced his disdain for this reality show, claiming he only did the show to support Chrissy. He is very adamant that there is no going back with Yandy. Jim says he will never need a manager that puts his business on display. He is very vocal about not enjoying the drama of the show, and he promises to tune into watch season three, laughing smugly that he won’t be at the center of any conflict. Perhaps someone can remind Jim that Chrissy caused a lot of that drama!

Emily’s story is highlighted, and Mona cites her reason for doing the show was to get the attention of her boyfriend of eight years, Fabolous. She was tired of Fab pretending he wasn’t in a relationship because it didn’t suit his bad boy image as a rapper. The season opened with newbie Kimbella confessing that she had dated Fab not knowing of Emily’s existence when Emily was pregnant with Fab’s son. Party foul!

Emily claims that she met Kimbella at a party in Atlanta, which Kimbella vehemently denies. Emily does admit that she blames Fab for his indiscretions, but he has promised her that he never dated Kimbella. Apparently, one time a single sex act was performed (it wasn’t intercourse…thanks, Love & Hip Hop for making me type that!), but that was the extent of their relationship. Lovely. Emily assures Mona that she is a changed woman, while revealing she is still dating Fab.

Next in the hot seat is Kimbella. Mona is quick to point out that Kimbella’s boyfriend and baby daddy Juelz didn’t really want the pair’s relationship televised. He would film with Jim and with Yandy, but Mona reminds Kimbella that he was always hesitant to film with the woman who was supposed to be his one and only. Kimbella, who needs to quit it with these cat suits–seriously–announced that she was pregnant with her second child by Juelz on the season finale, but admits that the couple is now working on sorting through their relationship. The pair is no longer together, and Kimbella is prepared to be a single mother. However, she would love for him to man up and do the right thing. Basically, her advice to her ex is that he needs “to keep his *&$ in his pants.”

It’s time to go a round with Chrissy, who is being interviewed by executive producer Stefan Springman. Her refusal to sit down with Mona stems from Chrissy’s belief that she was being set-up by Mona, and placed into situations to create more drama. Duh Chrissy, you’re on a reality show! Chrissy cites the fact that the show’s producers wouldn’t let her enjoy Jim’s proposal, as less than 24 hours later, they put her in a room with Yandy knowing the bad blood between them. Stefan argues that it was a legitimate beef the producers needed to follow. Chrissy doesn’t understand why the show couldn’t have let some time pass before having the ladies film together.

As for her relationship with Jim, Chrissy admits that there were times when she thought things may not work out between them. However, she feels like they are on the right track now, and she was genuinely shocked by his proposal in Miami. Not that she had time to revel in it, as she nearly quit after the club fight with Yandy. Chrissy is quick to correct Stefan, saying she didn’t quit the show, just that situation. She also says she doesn’t know what would happen if she were to run into Yandy now.

Yandy takes to the couch with Mona, and her main regret from the season is that the fun and goofy side of her friendship with Jim wasn’t shown. She is quick to say that the pair never had a sexual relationship, which is why it was so hard to understand Chrissy’s issues with her. Both women are adamant that in the seven years they have known one another that they were never really friends, and they never hung out together by themselves. Yandy thought that while the two weren’t close, they were at least friendly acquaintances. Chrissy, on the other hand, thinks she was only around Yandy because the producers created those circumstances. She was fine with Yandy being brought on as Jim’s manager, but when Yandy’s role was expanded, Chrissy wasn’t on board. As far as Chrissy’s concerned, it’s her show. Yandy even reveals that Jim requested she quit the show due to Chrissy’s issues with her.

Next up is the “physychotic” Mama Jones. I love that she is fanning herself while sipping white wine. Mona questions Nancy about her Twitter war with Olivia. She asks if Olivia’s impersonations put her on Nancy’s list. Mama Jones replies that she just doesn’t like the girl, simple as that. The duo dances to Mama’s hit “Psychotic” and that’s all we get to see of Jim’s mom. Noooooooo! She needs more time!

Olivia isn’t very thrilled with how her story was portrayed. Mona discusses her reservations of filming such private people. Olivia believes that the show made her appear pathetic, and it was edited to make her relationship with her mother look much worse than it actually is. Mona also asks if Rich is in love with Olivia. Olivia says that the pair are the best of friends, but there is no romance between them. At Mona’s insistence, she wants Olivia to take a stand on the Yandy/Chrissy debacle. A laughing Olivia admits that after watching the entire season, she thinks Chrissy is clearly at fault. Olivia had better watch her back!

We get to finally see Somaya. She was such a presence on season one, but Mona expressed her concern that Somaya’s season two persona was so passive. Besides firing Maurice, Somaya’s storyline was lacking, causing her camera time to shrink. Things get heated in the interview, with Somaya calling Mona a b*tch. She insists she was not upset about the lack of air time, and she was happy with what was filmed. The two hug it out with Somaya apologizing for her harsh words.

Last, but not least, is the volatile Erica Mena, who spent a lot of time fondling herself. Her mid-season addition started with a smack down involving Kimbella. Mona brings up Erica taking to the blogs crying she was edited unfairly. After re-watching the unedited fight, Erica breaks down in tears, saying that she didn’t like how she acted. She says she’s not really that angry person… she wants to be more like Mona and less like her cast mates. Someone received some backlash, eh?

Mona ties up the season with a sweet little bow. Kimbella really wants to work on her relationship with Juelz, while Emily is setting boundaries and rules to ensure loyalty in her relationship with Fab. Olivia didn’t take the EMI record deal, but she hints that she got an even better offer. Chrissy admits that she would love to start a family with Jim. And of course, it’s the announcement we all knew was coming: Love & Hip Hop Hotlanta!

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE <del>REUNION</del> SPECIAL EPISODE? DO YOU THINK CHRISSY WAS BEING OVERLY DRAMATIC? WHO DO YOU THINK WILL RETURN FOR SEASON THREE? EXCITED ABOUT THE HOTLANTA SPIN-OFF?

The Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting that a new VH1 spin-off is coming to town. The network, which was once known for music videos back when MTV first started straying from music, is now known for some fighting, catty women. Its hit Basketball Wives now features two different series in Miami and Los Angeles, as well as the spin-off Baseball Wives.

Now the same has happened for Love & Hip Hop, as the franchise is expanding to include some lovely ladies of Atlanta.

Season 2 of the hit show, which centers around women in the hip-hop industry, averaged close to 3 million viewers, with 3.15 million tuning in to watch the last episode. Those numbers compare to RHOA viewership. For VH1 to hit those kind of benchmarks is huge for the network which is testing the waters with these bickering Betties.

The article cites, “Atlanta, of course, is known as a major town for hip hop. Several folks in the hip-hop/R&B world from Atlanta have already taken part in reality shows, including Keyshia Cole, Toni Braxton, Chilli, Monica, T.I. and Tiny and Kandi Burruss, to name a few. And if you go back a few years, there was Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston.”

Apparently, if you can’t sell your music, you need to be showcasing yourself on your own reality show, and it seems that Atlanta is the place to do it. In fact, TLC has already announced that its new reality show Preacher Wives will be filmed in the Georgia hot spot.

Casting for the Love & Hip Hop spin-off has not been finalized, though, it is being rumored that these ladies are in talks to join the cast – rapper Diamond, video model Summer Walker, rapper Rasheeda, and exotic dancer Gigi Maguire.

Meanwhile the reunion for the current season airs tonight at 8/7c on VH1. However, it’s being touted as more of a “special episode” than a reunion, seeing as several of the ladies couldn’t handle being in the same room with one another. I guess John Salley just doesn’t have the referee skills needed for this bunch!

Show producer Mona Scott Young revealed on twitter that they couldn’t film a reunion because some of the cast members wouldn’t be in the same room together. While it’s been rumored that those cast members are Chrissy Lampkin and Yandy Smith, sources are stating Chrissy is the lone one who refused to be in the same room as Yandy.

On tonight’s “special episode”–aptly titled “Reality Check”–Yandy speaks with producer (and her mentor) Mona Scott Young about the role she played on the show.

In the preview clip posted below, we find out it was Yandy’s nemesis Chrissy who originally wanted her on the show. That, however, changed as soon as Scott decided to make Yandy a regular on the show, much to the dismay of the soon to be Mrs. Jim Jones.

Explaining her decision to increase the camera time for Jim Jones’ former manager, Mona tells Yandy: “You were funny, you were charismatic, we wanted to see more of Yandy.“

This still doesn’t explain why Chrissy has so much rage towards Yandy. And it’s that rage that is causing the reunion to be nothing more than the ladies being interviewed separately. Where is the fun in that?

Of course, we know that even individually, the women can bring the drama as evident in the clip below, Chrissy is quick to remind Yandy, “B*tch, you on MY show!” Yikes! Once again Chrissy, you need a hobby! One that doesn’t involve Jim or bickering with the people in Jim’s life!

On this season of Love & Hip Hop, newbie Kimbella Vanderhee made anything but an under the radar entrance and she certainly left with quite an announcement as well.

In a recent interview with Necolebitchie.com, Kimbella opens up on her first season in the madness that is Love & Hip Hop. She discusses her infamous first episode, her tumultuous childhood, an aspiring singing career (no shocker there given the premise of the show) and how hard it is to be so darn nice. An excerpt of that interview is below.

So this is your first season on L&HH, what are your thoughts thus far?

Of course it wasn’t what I expected. I don’t think there was any way I really could’ve been prepared for it but I’m really happy. But I do wish I wasn’t as nice as I was. I wish I would’ve shown my more aggressive side.

Your more aggressive side? You’ve been involved in a few conflicts already…

Yes but that’s what I mean. People take my kindness for weakness. I don’t judge anybody. Basically people pre-judge me. And watching it, I realize I should’ve had my guard up with each individual. I’m not as nice as they made me seem. Anything that comes my way, I do not back down. I hold my own. I don’t care who you are, I’m gonna fight for who I am, take it or leave it. Some of the girls wanted to judge me and they didn’t know me and it’s pitiful.

Ok, let’s go back to your first episode. You came to a party thrown by Emily and sort of dropped a bomb that you’d previously been involved with Fabolous. Whose idea was it to tell her?

I came in there wanting to tell her, this was my second time seeing Emily [Bustamante]. I knew she knew, I’d heard that she knew. So I wanted to tell her and just get it out in the open before someone else brought it up. I wanted her to hear it from me. And the thing is, what they don’t show you is Emily came to me later and said, ‘Thank you for telling me because I saw your name in his phone and I was gonna ask you about it.’

I understand you wanting to tell her directly, but why then? Why at the party in front of everyone?

Because it didn’t matter where or when I told her. Everyone knew what this guy was doing to her. And even if I’d taken her to the bathroom, or pulled her aside, she still would’ve come back and told everybody at that table anyway.

So after the fight, Emily thanked you for telling her, what was the relationship between yourself and Chrissy?

Chrissy [Lampkin] wasn’t around. She stopped production for 3 weeks because she didn’t want to tape with me. So there was absolutely no relationship.

In [one] episode you allude to childhood abuse, can you elaborate on that?

Basically it was more neglect than anything. I had to raise myself and teach myself everything and some of the decisions I make as an adult are because of this. My mom was always off running after my dad, trying to make that relationship work. And it wasn’t healthy. My dad abused her. He had other children on her. So it was just an unhealthy situation all around.

What’s your relationship like with her now?

It’s hard. My mom is a unique individual. I want things to get better but it’s going to take time.

Where you want to go outside of the show?

I’m gonna launch my pop career, I sing. Not like Erica Mena. I can really sing. I’m also developing a line of watches. As well as a clothing line. And of course I’m doing my ‘Feel Pretty’ shirts which will be available on my website. My goal is to grow the brand. And eventually I’ll probably start an agency for upcoming models. I want to teach them the right way to handle their careers. You don’t just model for the rest of your life. I just want to educate women. We need unity, not jealously and to help one another. It’s such a struggle out here.

Is she lying and just making all of these allegations up?

Of course. I’ve never met her before. She’s straight lying. It’s jealousy, envy, maybe she wants to be my a friend. But I know one thing, a real woman – which obviously she’s not – wouldn’t approach the situation like that. We’ve never been friends. I don’t know this girl.

So who’s idea was it for you to confront her at her birthday party?

The show set up us going to her party. We did have this little twitter situation, which was real. But I didn’t understand how she was going back and forth so quickly. You came to Miami apologizing and now you’re still talking about me? The whole thing just doesn’t make sense. What is it you’re trying to do?

Would you do another season?

If the money’s right. I have two kids that I have to support. And now that I’m a little wiser about what this process is really like, I’m going to need a lot of things. So renegotiating my contract isn’t going to be easy. They’re going to have to come with it.

I know you’re genuinely cool with Yandy [Smith] but are you friends with any of your other cast mates in real life?

No, it’s hard for me to trust anybody. Especially after seeing the show now. Somaya’s cool but I don’t trust anybody. I thought during taping that Emily and I were cool. She used to call my phone whatever, like we were cool and then I see the show and see how she really was and how she was running back to Chrissy. But it’s cool. I get it. This was a front for Chrissy. So now I just worry about me. I’m cordial with Olivia. We don’t have any beef. I’m pretty chill. I don’t have hate, no jealousy, I don’t bring problems to the table. When I come into the room it’s always somebody else who has the problem.

That’s interesting. What do you think the general first impression of you is?

It could be different with each person. If it’s someone who’s insecure they’re gonna have a problem. I’m a pretty girl that walks in the room and holds it down for herself and if you’re insecure, then you’re gonna have a problem.

Anything else you want us to know?

I’m going to write a book and everything else I have to say will be in there.

Hmm… makes me wonder if she’ll be back next season if she is going to make some demands while negotiating her contract. I guess time will tell! While I certainly wasn’t surprised to hear that there is no love lost between Kimbella and Chrissy, it’s nice to know that not all of the friendships or fighting is staged for the small screen. The ever <del>present</del> absent Somaya Reece also opened up to Vh1.com, speaking about her friendship with Kimbella.

Somaya discusses how Kimbella started off on the wrong foot but was able to endear herself to viewers. She explains, “I think people also started to see that Kimbella really was trying, she really made an effort to make things right on the show.” Giving credit where credit is due, Somaya touts Erica for helping that transformation, recalling, “I told Kimbella don’t be mad, whatever this girl did just helped you.” However Somaya believes, “[E]ven if Erica would not have done all that, I think people would have seen the genuine in [Kimbella].”

Dishing on her friend’s pregnancy announcement, Somaya reveals, “Oh, I know everything. But I’d rather she speak about it. It’s not my business, but she’s happy about everything.” She continues, stating the show’s mantra, “Relationships are always weird when you’re in this business, so that episode with her talking about Juelz [Santana], I mean, she’s just a really sweet person but she’s strong, she’s tough. I just don’t wanna speak for her.”

No doubt both ladies will be doing plenty of talking at the upcoming reunion! And speaking of, below is a picture Somaya tweeted of herself during filming of the reunion. Glad to know VH1 didn’t edit her out of that!

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF KIMBELLA’S INTERVIEW? DO YOU THINK SHE CAME OFF AS TOO NICE ON THE SHOW? SHOULD SHE BROUGHT BACK FOR NEXT SEASON? DO YOU HAVE ANY REUNION PREDICTIONS?

Last night was the finale of Love & Hip Hop. Given all the drama of the past season, it was a relatively tame ending. Almost nap worthy. Of course, our friends at VH1 tied up all the story lines with a neat little bow, but let enough drama leak to insure another season. No matter what, the finale was not much more than…{yawn}.

Kimbella invites Yandy over to discuss her latest blow-up with Erica. Yandy is shocked — she thought the pair was fine, but Kimbella fills her in on Erica’s recent interview. Regardless, Kimbella has bigger fish to fry as Juelz has been arrested for an episode with a neighbor. Her heart breaks every time she gets an update from prison.

CLICK THE CONTINUE READING BUTTON TO READ THE REST!

Chrissy and Mama Jones are catching up and getting along… finally. They talk about how their relationship, as well as Chrissy’s relationship with Jim, has strengthened. Mama Jones has accepted that Chrissy is the woman Jim wants in his life, and Chrissy gets teary telling her future mother-in-law that her love for Jim has made it easier for her to love Nancy. Nancy finally thinks that Chrissy is the “the one” and she wants grand babies. Stat.

Olivia tells Rich that she isn’t willing to settle for the three album deal she was offered. She isn’t ready to give up creative control over her music. Rich attempts to be supportive, but it is more than obvious that he is frustrated she is turning down the record company. There goes his paycheck. He can’t afford to keep backing her on his own. Olivia is very passionate about making it work on her own.

Emily meets Chrissy for a drink and Chrissy spills that Jim, Nancy and her are taking a vacation to Jamaica. Emily cherishes her friendship with Chrissy and thinks of her as a big sister. She dishes on her conversation with Fab’s former assistant Winter… you remember, the one where Winter basically told Emily to go back to Fab and turn a blind eye to his infidelity. Chrissy thinks that a man in this industry needs to be smart enough to hide his cheating so stealthy that his woman never finds out about it. He won’t be disrespectful enough to flaunt women in front of his girlfriend. It’s all about feigned loyalty.

Olivia is doing a radio with Funkmaster Flex who chides her into talking about some past issues between the two of them. Olivia gets on him for previously calling her out on the radio. Flex states that he was upset because he’d heard that she was going to kiss another boy on the playground talk threatening to call him out to a friend for cavorting with his friend’s rival. After a slightly heated back-and-forth, the pair hug, chalking their past up to a misunderstanding.

Kimbella is worrying about her relationship with Juelz. It’s on and off, and she wants to get Yandy’s advice. She starts crying when telling Yandy about how much she questions Juelz’ commitment. She feels like she is the only one participating fully in the relationship. Yandy is supportive, but she doesn’t know what to say. She assures Kimbella that no matter what happens between her and Juelz, Yandy will always be her friend.

Nancy and Yandy go shopping for bathing suits and Mama Jones reveals to a shocked Yandy that she’ll be going to Jamaica with Chrissy and Jim. They both joke about Chrissy potentially drowning poor Mama, but ultimately Yandy seems to take the high road. She is glad that Nancy is getting along with Chrissy and Yandy advises not to bring up the situation between the two ladies. Mama Jones really wants to repair Yandy and Jim’s broken friendship, but Yandy is worried it’s a lost cause with Chrissy in the picture.

Olivia meets with music producer Jerry Wonda and she hopes the pairing will be exactly what her music and her career needs. She shares with him a song that she’s written for her mother. Jerry picks up a guitar and makes her sing her words as he plays. What a talent he is — I’m melting with his flipping guitar playing. Oh Jerry. Things could be looking up for Olivia’s career with Jerry Wonda onboard.

Kimbella’s parents have flown in from Miami to visit their daughter and grandchildren. I am beyond thrilled to see that her mother has traded in her orange traffic cone hair color for a tamer shade of lavender platinum. She tells her mother that Juelz is in custody, and she has another secret to share. Right away, her mother knows what Kimbella is going to say and she worried. Kimbella isn’t deterred… she is going to share her news. She’s pregnant again! Both her parents want her to have a better relationship than they had when she was growing up — Kimbella’s mom is ready for Juelz to put a ring on it. Rightfully so.

Mama Jones is debuting her song wearing an amazing Superman cape. Because what else would you wear while breaking it down to “I’m a Psychotic B*tch”? Yandy compares her to a Chaka Khan/Tina Turner hybrid. I may or may not have just taken a quick blog break to download something from iTunes.

Yandy’s mentor Mona makes another appearance to discuss her protégé’s career. Yandy claims she’s fine and has not bad blood with Jim. Mona reminds her that from here on out, Yandy needs to keep things professional. She has learned her lesson about taking things personally. Yandy hopes that Jim’s career is full of success regardless of whether they are able to rebuild a friendship. She really does seem to be taking the high road.

Jim, Chrissy and Nancy have landed in Jamaica. First stop? Swimming with dolphins! Watching Jim Jones play with dolphins is the biggest oxymoron — a tough rapper loving on Flipper? Who would have ever thought? I love him. Jim is thrilled to see Chrissy and his mother finally putting aside their differences. Jim then freaks out when Nancy pulls a starfish from the surf. Paging VH1… how about a viewer contest and the winner gets to go to the islands with Jim Jones? How hilarious would that be?

So the final episode of the season comes to an end. Emily reveals that she isn’t ready to go back to Fab until he’s ready to be monogamous. You go! Kimbella wants more from her relationship with Juelz, but if he isn’t able to meet her halfway she’s prepared to be a strong mother and woman without him. Somaya clearly filmed her “finale revelation” a while ago, as she’s been on one episode out of the last several. She’s going to be pursuing her career in Los Angeles. Can we say spin-off?

Olivia is committed to giving her all to her music. She’s ready to show the music industry what she has to offer. Yandy is thankful for her time working with Jim and is remorseful about how it ended. However, she’s looking forward to using her new found extra time to promote her other endeavors. Chrissy couldn’t be happier with how things are progressing with Jim. She is excited to plan the pair’s wedding. ZZZZZZZ.

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE FINALE? WERE YOU AS BORED AS I WAS? HOW HAPPY WERE YOU THAT ERICA REMAINED ABSENT? THOUGHTS ON KIMBELLA’S PREGNANCY CONFESSION?

Just like that, the very dramatic sophomore season of Love & Hip Hop comes to an end tonight!

And on tonight’s finale, Kimbella Vanderhee will drop a bombshell when she reveals she is pregnant! Yes, Kimbella tells her parents on tonight’s finale that she and beau rapper Juelz Santana are expecting their second child together. Kimbella has a son from a previous relationship so this would make her third kid.

“We’re having a baby” says Kimbella to her mom, who appropriately responds with: ““I wish Juelz would put the ring on your finger already.” Well said mama! <del>Or better yet, how about not getting knocked up again until he puts a ring on it!</del>

Some are now speculating on whether or not Kimbella kept the baby as she has been spotted making club appearances around the country, not looking pregnant. It appears this finale was filmed 1 -2 months ago. We’ll let you be the judge with some recent photos of her below!

Also below are some revealing/sexy photos Kimbella took while pregnant with her first child with Juelz!

In other news, Olivia ruffled some feathers of the stars of Basketball Wives after she dissed their show in an interview with the NY Post.

While attempting to defend her show by stating it’s not just about fighting all the time (err has she seen the show?) Olivia inadvertently threw the Basketball Wives cast under the bus!

“In Basketball Wives, I thought they were always bickering about nothing. They didn’t really have anything else to talk about, everyone was just sitting around having drinks. In our show, there’s so much for everybody to gravitate to,” said Olivia in the interview.

Well Tami Roman didn’t take too kindly to Olivia’s words and let it be known via Twitter! “I’ve always supported Love/Hip Hop-didn’t think it was cool that @1andonlyOlivia dissed BBW in a recent interview. #nobueno… I just thought we’d all support each other-we’re all in the same game, maybe I was mistaken. Its cool tho,” tweeted Tami.

Olivia immediately started backpedaling, claiming her comments were not meant to be a diss. Olivia tweeted to Tami: “Nope!I said our story lines are diff because we are a hiphop based show and that u guys do dinner n drink scenes n we break glasses on our drink scenes why we have plastic cups now. would never call yall wack I been a fan of the show.”

Tami accepted Olivia’s apology but still questioned her intent with her comments. “My ace sent me the article… #imjussayin I’ve moved on but damn something don’t match up…,” tweeted Tami.

I’m with Tami on this as Olivia’s comments were obviously a diss, and she is now backpedaling. In the interview with The Post, Olivia also <del>whined</del> complained about the way she is edited on the show. “They make it seem like it’s such a struggle and like I need sympathy or something, and it bothers me to my core,” she said.

The Love & Hip Hop finale airs tonight on VH1 at 8/7c. A preview clip is below!

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON KIMBELLA’S PREGNANCY NEWS? AND ON OLIVIA’S COMMENTS ABOUT BASKETBALL WIVES? DO YOU THINK IT WAS A DISS?

Last night was the next to the last episode of Love & Hip Hop. I don’t know about you, but I feel as if this season has flown by in a relatively boring string of similar-minded cat fights. Erica Mena and Kimbella Vanderhee are at each others’ throats yet again, Yandy Smith is desperate to find someone who finds her to be a totally innocent party in her smack down with Chrissy Lampkin and unprofessional e-mail to Jim Jones, and Olivia Longett keeps singing away. Emily Bustamante is still pining for Fab and Somaya Reece makes a rare appearance.

Olivia and Emily are discussing the fight between Yandy and Chrissy. Emily has Chrissy’s back while Olivia feels she stuck between two friends. Yandy joins the pair and Emily smugly sizes up Yandy. Yandy hopes that Emily will help show Chrissy her side of things, but no dice. Emily will leave that job for Olivia.

CLICK THE CONTINUE READING BUTTON TO READ THE REST!

Erica is being interviewed by Vibe.com and one of the first questions has to do with Kimbella. Erica comes out guns blazing, basically calling Kimbella a porn star who has slept her way to where she is now. Klassy! Erica doesn’t sound the least bit jealous of her video vixen counterpart with a slew of insults.

Yandy goes to see her mentor Mona Scott-Young. Mona tries to convince Yandy that Jim is never going to choose her side over his fiancé. Mona thinks Yandy is taking this whole situation too personally as it’s her job to manage Jim and if she wants to quit, she can. However, after hearing rumors about Yandy’s e-mail to Jim, Mona is concerned that Yandy may have tainted her reputation for future clients. Regardless of Mona’s advice, Yandy believes she did nothing wrong in expecting some sort of loyalty from Jim.

Rick and Olivia are discussing a potential million dollar deal for three albums. Rich is giving her the pros and cons. It’s not the money that Olivia was hoping for, and while Rich thinks the decision is purely Olivia’s, he doesn’t think she’s in a position to be picky with her career. Olivia meets Chrissy and Emily for lunch and Chrissy thinks that the fact Olivia won’t choose sides makes her pretty wishy-washy. Emily takes the opportunity to throw Olivia under the bus with Chrissy, telling Chrissy that Olivia called Yandy “the bigger person” during their prior meeting. Emily point blank asks Olivia who she believes is at fault between the ladies. Olivia thinks both women have acted poorly and Chrissy informs her that she doesn’t need any disloyal friends.

Yandy meets with Cam’ron in hopes of getting in some of his business. Yandy reveals that she’s left her position as Jim’s manager and she wants to work with Cam’ron. He tells her that when he and Jim had a falling out, things eventually worked themselves out — and he thinks the same will ring true with Jim and Yandy. That said, Cam’ron doesn’t want to ruffle his friend’s feathers so he’s going to have to run by Jim the idea of working with Yandy. Yandy understands and both hope that Jim won’t have an issue with their partnership.

Kimbella and her brother Kenneth meet for drinks to discuss her conversation with their mother in Miami. She confides in her brother that she doesn’t want to go in the same direction as her mom. While she love Juelz, and she would love to get married, she thinks they don’t need to tie the knot just because she has kids. Kimbella wants to make it work with him and her brother wishes her luck, but wants to insure that if things aren’t good between the pair his sister won’t stay in the relationship.

Yandy and Olivia meet again to discuss Chrissy-gate. Poor Olivia. She is correct in her assumption that both Chrissy and Olivia seem to have a lot in common, although neither one will see it. Yandy doesn’t want Olivia to choose sides, but she does want her friend to stand up for her to Chrissy. Um, how does that work? Olivia gently explains that Yandy’s e-mail to Jim was inappropriate and although it’s the second time she’s heard it, Yandy still doesn’t agree.

Yandy keeps searching for someone who thinks she wasn’t at all in the wrong. What’s a gal to do? She gets a massage with Jim’s mom, Mama Jones. Nancy isn’t willing to tell Yandy what she wants to hear because she also believes that Yandy overstepped professional boundaries with the e-mail. Yandy can’t understand why people don’t get that she was Jim’s friend in addition to his manager, but she is very happy her relationship with Mama Jones has been relatively unaffected. In fact, she’s going to start managing Nancy’s career. All the family!

Wait! Who is that I see joining up with Kimbella at the chocolate shop? No. It can’t be. But it is! Long lost Somaya! They dish about Erica’s Vibe interview. Somaya makes a good point — Erica claims she couldn’t care less about Kimbella, but she certainly devotes a lot of time to trash talking her. Somaya is probably thrilled to have become a supporting player on this madness.

Fab’s former assistant Winter comes by Emily’s new place. Winter calls Emily out on moving out just to get a reaction from Fab, but she truly thinks that Fab will come around if Emily is patient. While Emily respects Winter’s opinion, she wants more. Winter reminds Emily that these “indiscretions” are part of the lifestyle and she’s known that for years. Emily isn’t willing to play second fiddle to anyone; she doesn’t think that someone’s fame should give them a free pass for bad behavior. Amen!

Erica is out celebrating her birthday, which seems to consist of her playing with her tatas in party goers’ faces. Yeah, she’s way classier than Kimbella. Speaking of, Kimbella heads to the party (wearing a God awful catsuit) fully intending to confront the two-faced Erica. Kimbella pulls her aside questioning why Erica pretended to be her friend and then gave such a scathing interview. She is trying to convince Erica that the rumors she’s heard about her aren’t true. I doubt Erica cares. Somaya joins in the tag team and Erica continues to act like a twelve-year-old… not that anyone is showing much maturity. Erica attempts a punch and then throws a drink. She’s pretty safe behind her wall of party attendees. Somaya and Kimbella storm out of the party so that the breast fondling festivities can resume.

Next week, Juelz gets arrested and his bail is close to $50,000. Rich and Olivia work on her career, while Mama Jones, Jim and Chrissy head to Jamaica.

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF LAST NIGHT’S EPISODE? ARE ERICA’S DIGS AT KIMBELLA AN ATTEMPT TO BECOME RELEVANT IN THE INDUSTRY. WHOSE SIDE SHOULD OLIVIA TAKE BETWEEN CHRISSY AND YANDY? THOUGHTS ON EMILY AND FAB’S POTENTIAL RECONCILIATION?

Love & Hip Hop’s Yandy Smith is the epitome of reality gold — love her or hate her, viewers are definitely talking about Yandy.

In a recent interview with NecoleBitchie.com, the controversial former manager of rapper Jim Jones discusses her edit on the show, her real friends and how she got to the top of her profession… that, and a little rumor about her boyfriend’s fight with Jim Jones. Because it’s not reality television if there isn’t fighting — even off-camera — right? An excerpt from that interview is below.

Yandy, you came out the Violator Management camp. Exactly how long have you been in the industry?
I got an internship with Violator in 2004, right out of college at Howard. Then I turned that into a position there.

When and where did you meet Jim Jones?
I met Jim in 2005 on a private jet chartered by Russell Simmons. They were flying us to Detroit for the Hip Hop summit to register young voters and Jim and I sat next to one another. He kept telling me that he managed this group The Diplomats and I told him to hit me up if he needed any help. He started calling me every day and eventually I was like ‘You’re going to have to pay me for this.” So I became his official manager and left Violator in 2005.

On the show you’re definitely portrayed as a woman about her business. Were you always that way? Or was there a situation that brought that out of you?
You know what, when I went to Howard, I got a scholarship the first two years. But my mother made me pay for the last two years. So that really taught me to be about my business. Yeah, being social was great and I did that too but I definitely learned quickly that I had to handle mine. And when school was over, I brought that same mindset to Violator Management. I knew I had to hurry up and find a job so I could pay back my student loans. So I came in on my business.

OLIVIA AND MAMA JONES GET INTO A TWITTER WAR!

So on the show you made the statement that at the end of the day, for you it’s about making money…
See that was only part of the statement. What they didn’t show you was that I also said how much I love Jim. See a lot of that is changed in editing or manipulated by producers.

Let’s talk about that. Are you happy with the way you’ve been represented?
(Groans) See, here’s the thing: most people don’t realize how this really works. If the producers contact me and say there’s a woman named Erica Mena interested in meeting with me about management, I don’t know what an Erica Mena is. But I took the meeting and all the sudden its made to look like I’m starting something. Or if Emily [Bustamante] invites me along with the rest of the girls to her party, I don’t know what type of party it is until I get there. And really I didn’t come with Kimbella. The camera just shows us walking up to the house together, so now it looks like I’ve brought Kimbella [Vanderhee] and I didn’t.

So have you been portrayed wrong?
Listen, you can’t edit something that you do. I am who I am on the show with one exception: I really don’t have any drama in my life. I’m not around grown women fighting and all of that. That doesn’t happen in my normal life. A lot of that is manipulated because it makes sense in the storyline.

Would you consider your cast mates friends in real life?
No. I’m friends with Kimbella. She is genuinely my friend. I like Somaya [Reece]. I like Olivia. I knew Olivia from my Violator days. I wasn’t on her day to day team but we got to know each other better after that.

What about Chrissy?
I never had a reason to be close with Chrissy [Lampkin]. Before the show I really only had a relationship with Chrissy through Jim. If we were going somewhere and Jim was like ‘I’m bringing Chrissy’ then I was like cool. But we never hung out or had dinner at each others houses. I have that relationship with Juelz and Kim. I’m the God mother of their child.

So you’ve finished filming and I know you’ve got a big episode coming up and you can’t tell us too much. So let me ask you this, are you at peace with how the situation ended with you and Jim?
I’m at peace. Absolutely. You know what? The show brought a lot of things to light. I’m quick to brother out somebody. I’m super quick to call a dude my brother – and part of that comes from being a woman in this industry. Calling someone my brother lets other people know there’s nothing going on and it sends a message to that dude that there’s a line he shouldn’t cross with me. But Jim? Jim was deeper than my brother. In a lot of ways I think of Jim as my first born. He really was my very first project. We were broke together and then got rich together.

So where is that relationship now?
I will always love Mama Jones. Mama Jones and I used to talk for hours about all sorts of things – not just Jim – so I will always have a relationship with her.

What about Jim?
I’ll just say this: Jim will always be a very important factor in my career history. Like I said, he was there in the beginning, so my appreciation for that will always be there.

[If] they asked you back for Season 3, would you do it?
I don’t know at this point. Honestly. The people that can really affect my bottom line, know what it is. But the other people that see the show and call me the Don King of the show, they think ‘oh Yandy’s messy.’ I don’t know if there’s anywhere else for me to go on the show. And I don’t need my own show. America likes to watch a train wreck. Chrissy could have her own show. But I’m not a train wreck. So I don’t know.

Do you have a boyfriend?
(Laughs) Yes, I have a boo.

Did he beat up Jim Jones?
I don’t know. I wasn’t there. I heard Jim say it was a botched robbery in Harlem.

Did your boyfriend attempt to rob Jim Jones, in Harlem?
No. My boyfriend definitely doesn’t need to rob anyone.

Whoa! According to the rumor mill, Yandy’s boyfriend allegedly beat up Jim Jones a few weeks ago in NYC. Sources close to Jim have, however, insisted it was a botched robbery. That is some pretty hefty stuff if you ask me. Personally, I enjoy some Yandy on the show, but all the ladies bring that certain something (read: DRAMZ!) to each episode.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YANDY’S INTERVIEW? DO YOU THINK SHE’S A LEGITIMATE PROFESSIONAL OR THE “DON KING” OF THE SERIES? ANY TRUTH TO THE RUMOR THAT HER BOYFRIEND BEAT UP JIM JONES?

After last week’s romantic (?) proposal, Love & Hip Hop resumed with some slight back story behind Jim Jones’ decision to head to Miami. There is a video montage of the pair from season one intermixed with Jim preparing to pop the question.

As he waxes poetic in the background about what it means to have Chrissy as a lady and confidante, why she is perfect for him, and what all they’ve been through, we watch him shower (he totes has a body under those baggy clothes!), profess his love for Chrissy in the steamy mirror and contemplate choosing the perfect ring. Oh VH1, how <del>cheesy</del> lovely.

After Chrissy says yes, it turns out the entire Miami trip was a set-up by Jim. He has all her friends and family at the restaurant, and apparently Emily, Teairra, and Olivia were in on the plan as well. I clearly didn’t give Jim enough credit. That was a pretty sweet proposal. In her interview, Chrissy cries about how wonderful it feels to be a Jones, compliments crizazy Mama Jones (love!) for raising such a wonderful son and ends with a tearful, “Even if we never get married… I will always have love for Jim in my f*&^ing heart.” And here I was thinking that Jim was the more romantic out of the two. Chrissy is like a female Shakespeare!

CLICK THE CONTINUE READING BUTTON TO READ THE REST!

Rich Dallas goes to meet with producer and songwriter Rico Love in hopes of saving Olivia’s sinking ship. Like everyone else that talks about Olivia, Rico wants to know more about Olivia’s mindset. However, he loves an underdog story. Rico is a little concerned about timing, as he’s just signed Teairra and wants to give her the attention she deserves as an artist. Never one to take no for an answer, Rich convinces him to come watch Olivia perform the following night.

Kimbella lunches with her mother Sherry in Miami. Um, she totes reminds me of a carrot-topped Draya’s mom from Basketball Wives: L.A. The pair discusses Kimbella’s not so stellar childhood with her mother and father’s relationship. Kimbella feels that her mother didn’t offer her very much guidance as she took care of herself and brothers — her mother wanted to make stuff work with her father, regardless of the cost. Her mom asks for forgiveness and embraces her daughter.

Olivia has a sit-down with Rico Love and he wants to know what makes Olivia tick. She’s happy, she loves music, music makes her happy, she’s happy dating, did she mention she was happy? Somewhere Yandy is cringing — Olivia is supposed to be baring her soul. Luckily, Rico calls her out on it. She admits that she is happy now, but she has a difficult time expressing her feelings about when life wasn’t so happy. Rico reminds her that her voice on the record will come across as someone who’s trying to mask something else with the happy. I think Olivia is finally getting the gist of all the constructive criticism.

Teairra wants to get to the bottom of Olivia’s worries about Emily and Fab reconciling too quickly. Emily seems beyond thrilled that Olivia is spilling her business. Teairra is grilling her, but it’s totally out of concern. Emily wants Fab to get his life together and wants a commitment, but she promises she’s not running back into his arms. She went on one date with him. Of course, Emily breaks down because she loves and misses Fab, and she honestly thinks he’s changing. Teairra turns on the waterworks as well — she loves her friend, and she wants her to be happy. She also doesn’t want to see her get her heart broken again.

Oh good gracious. Yandy brings together Kimbella and Erica to rehash their fight and their feelings. This will definitely end well. Good call, Yandy! Erica is going on and on about about how girls in the video world who work for free make a bad name in the industry for the girls like her who are getting laid… I mean paid. Kimbella couldn’t agree more — that’s why she doesn’t work for free! There you go ladies, you’ve found some common ground. Erica gives an insincere apology for passing judgment on Kimbella. In her solo interview she admits she spends enough time being compared to low class b*tches, she doesn’t want to waste the time fighting with them. Erica is on a mea culpa bandwagon and Kimbella readily accepts her olive branch. <del>Reputation </del>Damage control much, Erica? She’s quick to reveal that she is very good at keeping her enemies close.

Rico is watching Olivia’s performance with Rich. Teairra, Chrissy, and Emily are in the audience as well. I liked the song, but I have to agree with Rich that there is a disconnect about her smiling while singing a song about a broken relationship. She needed to be performing like Chrissy was lip synching. Girlfriend was getting down! Rico reiterates his conversation with Olivia to Rich and he is quick to say he doesn’t want to waste his time if she isn’t going to show her emotions on the record. Rich is frustrated… he is starting to think maybe Olivia won’t ever listen to all this expert advice.

Meanwhile, <del>because there is only one production team so everyone needs to be filmed in Miami</del> Teairra is shocked to look across the club and see her producer Rico sitting with Rich. They are literally within spitting distance of one another. Are we really supposed to believe she just “spotted him in the crowd”? While Teairra gives props to Olivia for doing her thing (and again, I totally think this girl is genuine), she wants to make sure her opportunities and her career are in Rico’s forefront. Fair enough. Rico reassures Teairra that he told Rich he couldn’t do anything for Olivia until he had good things squared away for his new ingénue.

Yandy and Kimbella are getting ready for a night out on the town, which again, coincidentally is Miami. See prior statement about VH1′s film crew. Scratch that, Yandy is getting ready, Kimbella is sipping pink champagne while in a bubble bath. Yandy is turning off her phone (foreshadowing?) and the women have a more than slightly scripted conversation about who they may run into at Erica’s soiree. They are far too giggly about the prospect of partying with multiple nemesis (nemesises?) for this to be a real chat between friends.

Chrissy, Emily, Teairra and Olivia are celebrating Chrissy’s engagement and her giant rock. Again, Chrissy sings Mama Jones’ praises. There is only one bar in Miami apparently. Teairra is shocked to see Kimbella and Erica walk into the club together given the last time she was with them, there was bottle tossing involved. Chrissy starts in immediately on Yandy quitting as Jim’s manager before she could be fired. She thinks Yandy has been disrespectful to both Jim and her. Yandy is responding, but she is also having a dance party with Erica. On the other hand, Yandy is calling out Chrissy for mooching off Jim’s bank account. Chrissy calls Jim to come remove Yandy from the scene before she kills her. Why doesn’t she get her fiancé to remove her from the scene?

Chrissy hangs up and goes diving for Yandy. Emily tries to calm down Yandy. Chrissy goes cussing and yelling into the street, while Yandy remains inside taking much deserved shots. No worries though because Chrissy has a plan to lie in wait on the streets of Miami until Yandy leaves the bar. <del>Congrats on your engagement! Glad to see you’re celebrating what is important! </del>Her friends are trying to talk her out of her shenanigans. Security hustles Yandy out of a back door. Wow, Chrissy is one angry lady!

Next week, Emily tries to show Yandy Chrissy’s side of the situation, while Chrissy gets mad at Olivia for refusing to choose sides. Olivia and Rich contemplate a deal that isn’t really what either wants, and Erica is spreading those same stories about Kimbella with another fight ensuing between the ladies.

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF LAST NIGHT’S EPISODE? WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON IN THE YANDY/CHRISSY BATTLE? WAS KIMBELLA NAIVE TO ACCEPT ERICA’S APOLOGY?

On last night’s Love & Hip Hop, it was all about talking. Blah. Blah. Blah. Everyone wants to discuss Kimbella and Erica’s fight. Yandy wants to talk about her issues with Chrissy which are weighing on her professional relationship with Jim and Chrissy just wants to cry about how Jim isn’t ready to commit.

We begin with Yandy Smith meeting up with Erica Mena about her brawl with Kimbella Vanderhee. Yandy can’t understand why Erica instigated such a hurtful confrontation. Yandy is so confused with Erica’s belief that her behavior was alright. Erica thinks that Kimbella talking about the pair being on the same level career-wise was enough to provoke her insults. Yandy sets her straight… Erica isn’t Yandy’s friend, she is nothing more than a potential client that proved she had a dirty mouth and ugly intentions.

CLICK THE CONTINUE READING BUTTON TO READ THE REST!

Meanwhile, Chrissy Lampkin is bonding with Mama Jones and I am digging MJ’s bright red hair. They discuss Yandy giving Chrissy a book about how to be a good daughter-in-law. Mama Jones agrees that the gesture was inappropriate and offers to talk to Yandy about boundaries. Yandy is Jim’s manager not his relationship counselor. The ladies also talk about Chrissy’s situation with Jim. Mama says she knows how much her son loves Chrissy, so Chrissy need not worry.

Kimbella (who’s scratched face seems to have healed) and Teairra Mari meet for drinks to rehash the fight with Erica. Teairra tries to impart to Kimbella that she could have handled herself with more class. As far as Teairra’s concerned Erica got exactly what she wanted when baiting Kimbella. While Erica was totally in the wrong, she doesn’t think that Kimbella can even defend her actions against Erica. Kimbella states that Erica’s insults about her relationship are what sent her over the edge. A crying Kimbella tries to explain to Teairra why she reacted so rashly. Regardless, Teairra doesn’t think Kimbella ever needs to be reduced to brawling. She makes a pretty valid point, don’t you think?

It’s ladies <del>lunch</del> dinner with Teairra, Olivia, Chrissy and Emily coming together for a meal while Teairra recounts the fight between Kimbella and Erica. Chrissy believes the fight was one part sad, one part karma as far as she’s concerned. The main topic is that Yandy is the one bringing these angry, aggressive women into the group. Chrissy teases Olivia about not eating and Chrissy explains what a “sexual pause” is… I can’t figure it out as every other word she says is bleeped.

Yandy meets up with Rich Dallas at the barber shop to talk about potentially repping Erica. She tells Rich that Erica has a very polished look, but not pretty behavior. Rich is intrigued and while he believes Erica could be a money maker, he’s slightly worried about her drama factor. The duo decides to see what their hustle can create as far as Erica buzz is concerned.

There is a scene with Chrissy and Jim in the bed that centers around Chrissy wanting to rehash the issues in their relationship while Jim just wants to chill. Shocking. She wants Jim to step up to the plate as far as Yandy is concerned. The more she talks, the more he rubs his temples. Chrissy also wants a cut of Jim’s business. I wonder if Chrissy has heard the old adage that you can’t change a man. When she reaches her boiling point, she tells Jim that she needs a break from all the chaos that their relationship brings.

Yandy meets up with Kimbella to apologize for bringing Erica to Kimbella’s wine tasting. Is it me, or is Kimbella wearing the exact same earrings that Erica was sporting when she met with Yandy? Kimbella expresses that what Erica said about her relationship is what sent her over the edge. Her father cheated on her mom and she saw a lot of discourse growing up in that dysfunction. She would never be in a relationship like that, as Erica accused. Yandy also shares her problems with how her upbringing has affected her current relationships.

Erica is at a modeling shoot and is joined by Yandy and Rich. Yandy has expressed that she can’t represent Erica due to the recent drama, but Rich is excited to work with her. She sings for Rich who critiques that she’s not good… but she’s not bad. Poor Rich. He definitely sees something in Erica that he thinks is special and fresh.

Yandy and Mama Jones meet for lunch to discuss the book debacle. Yandy loves MJ and claims she would never do anything to disrespect her or Chrissy’s relationship with Jim. She says she was honestly just trying to be helpful. Mama Jones thinks that Yandy put her in a delicate situation. Mama doesn’t think that Yandy needs to mix business with her personal life with Jim. Yandy feels like Jim is her brother and admits that maybe she crossed the line, but still feels like it’s a losing battle with Chrissy no matter what.

Chrissy, Olivia and Emily go shopping, and the main topic of conversation is Chrissy’s feeling of limbo with Jim. Chrissy needs a break and the ladies decide to plan a girls’ trip to Miami. Emily is wary because she isn’t feeling bikini ready (who is?), but she’s quickly convinced. It will be a working trip for Olivia (she has a show).

Yandy goes to Kimbella’s home to recount her issues with Chrissy and Jim. Yandy really wants to talk to Juelz Santana, her brother, who happens to be Kimbella’s boo and Jim’s friend. It’s quite the small world on Love & Hip Hop. Yandy seeks her brother’s advice about the weird threesome she’s found herself in with Jim. She feels like her friendship with Jim is deteriorating because Jim is avoiding her due to Chrissy. Juelz advises that the three need a sit-down to hash out their issues. Yandy e-mails Jim about how she feels. He’s not just a client, he’s like a family member to her. She’s ready to give up on their professional relationship.

Chrissy, Emily, Teairra and Olivia arrive in Miami to some gross weather, which mirrors Chrissy’s gross mood. Emily believes that Chrissy needs to chill… she has a good thing with Jim, and needs to appreciate these little down turns to they can laugh about them later. Teairra questions how long she’s willing to wait for Jim to grow up before she makes a change, which causes Chrissy to start crying. She states that Jim seems to chase her more when he’s worried about losing her. Guys suck — that’s the women’s consensus. Amen. Chrissy is also concerned about how comfortable she’s been feeling lately when she’s not with him. And cue Jim! He shows up at the ladies’ table in Miami and leads Chrissy away. She goes off on him about interrupting her girl time and he interrupts her with — surprise, surprise — a legitimate (sort of) proposal.

Next week, Olivia tries to further her career and Emily struggles reconciling with Fab.

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF LAST NIGHT’S EPISODE? SHOULD CHRISSY AND YANDY BURY THE HATCHET? THOUGHTS ON THAT “ROMANTIC” PROPOSAL?
