Karen Gravano

Is it just me, or could VH1 afford to redo the opening credits for Mob Wives?  Sure, I love to see Drita D'Avanzo, Renee Graziano, Karen Gravano, and Carla Facciolo walking the mean streets of Staten Island, but doesn't Ramona Rizzo feel a bit left out?  What about Big Ang and the new girl Love Majewski?  Loosen those purse strings, VH1!  The ladies are back with an explosive premiere, and the personalities are all over the place!  Drita staying out of drama?  Carla growing a pair?  Thank goodness we have Ang to be a calm in the ever brewing storm!

The season 3 premiere begins with besties Carla and Drita watching their tiny dogs on the boardwalk.  Carla reveals that Ang's son is getting more time than just rehab for his drug dealing, and she's also heard that Renee has yet another problem with her.  Drita says that she is finally on Renee's good side (and she wants to keep it that way!), but Carla doesn't care whether she is able to resolve her issues with Renee.  She goes off on Renee's pill-popping problem, and it makes Drita very uncomfortable.  Drita asks Carla if she can play peacemaker.  Carla doesn't care one way or the other.  This is going to get ugly!

Renee is changing the locks because she's had a recent break-in and her surveillance camera was camera.  Clearly, it was someone trying to intimidate her.  They even ripped up her Bible.  Renee believes that it was some of Junior's former cohorts who are mad he turned state's evidence.  She tells son AJ that she wants to get a gun.  He rolls his eyes.  Renee wants to talk smack about Junior to their son, and he admits that he knows what his dad did was wrong.  However, he hates that his mother wants to speak ill of his dad to him.  AJ yells that Renee needs to respect him.  I feel for him.  He's in a tough spot between both crazy parents.

Mob Wives Premiere

Mob Wives kicked off last night with its season 3 premiere (and it delivered the drama!).  Some of the cast and their crew hit up Frames Bowling Lounge in NYC to celebrate.

Love Majewski, Ramona Rizzo and Karen Gravano were among the cast on hand to party and throw some balls down the lane.  Though I'm sure that last part was for photo purposes and nobody actually kept score…

Stay tuned as Lauren brings you the Mob Wives season 3 episode 1 recap later this morning!

I don't know about y'all, but I am super excited about the third season of Mob Wives.  Honestly, I started watching it because I had to recap it, but now I am addicted.  Adding Big Ang as comic relief totally won me over, and the women's crazy drama never fails to entertain.

All of the original ladies are returning, and Karen Gravano's friend Love Majewski will be joining the cast.  Admittedly, I'm a tad frightened by her, and I've only see the trailer!  Carla Facciolo seems to find her voice this season, following the golden rule of VH1 reality shows–"She who yells the loudest remains the most relevant." Renee Grazziano maintains her role as resident drama queen, while Drita D'Avanzo is trying to distance herself from her formerly violent ways.  Ramona Rizzo isn't willing to follow in Drita's footsteps as far as that is concerned!  It's going to be a crazy season, that's for sure!

The third season of Mob Wives premieres in January and Vh1 has already released one of the rumored two new characters. Love Majewski who has quite the tale of mafia lineage behind her will be joining the cast.

In preparation for the new season the new teaser has been released and it gives us a small glimpse of what's up with Renee Graziano, Drita D'avanzo, and the rest of the girls!

Those crazy ladies who spend their days threatening to cut one another, visiting their husbands and boyfriends in jail, and ruling the streets of Staten Island have started filming a new season of the original Mob Wives.  However, like many on the east coast, Drita D'Avanzo, Big Ang, Carla Facciolo, Karen Gravano, Renee Graziano, and Ramona Rizzo were affected by Hurricane Sandy, and production of the show was recently shut down due to the super storm.

In the aftermath of the storm that killed twenty-two people on Staten Island, the show's producer Jennifer Graziano wants to show how the ladies are coping and volunteering in their home town.  After a week out of commission, cameras started following Big Ang, Drita, and Ramona as they headed out after Sandy.

“Innnnnn West Philadelphia, born and raised, with the Mob Wives is how I spent most of my days…”  Wait what?  Mob Wives…Philadelphia?  Isn’t enough, enough?  Unless Will Smith wants to be a part of this new franchise, I think I’m done with any and all things mob related…at least where reality TV is concerned.  I may be out of luck as the New York Daily News is reporting that Alicia DiMichele of South Jersey has been approached about starring in a Mob Wives spin-off set in Philadelphia.

Alicia is married to gangster Edward Graofalo who has ties to the Colombo crime family.  She even has a federal conviction herself.  Legit!  She lives fifteen minutes outside of downtown Philly, raising the couple’s three kids while her husband serves his time in federal prison.  Her lawyer reveals,“Alicia DiMichele has been contacted by a number of media outlets. She is focused on taking care of her children and keeping her family together.”

Part two of the Mob Wives reunion starts amidst the chaos of the Drita D’Avanzo and Ramona RizzoRenee Graziano is trying to separate the women, and Drita leaves the set.  Joy Behar doesn’t even get out of her seat.  She’s just watching the craziness.  Finally the women come back to the sofas, where Drita and Ramona continue to scream and bleep and threaten to kill one another off camera.  I think they even decide to fight it out after the reunion (in the parking lot, perhaps?), and there are accusations of being in a gang.  They are too well-dressed for this nonsense.  Carla Facciolo and Karen Gravano are trying to keep the peace, urging the women to speak nicely.  Renee tries to redirect, and Karen jumps on her for interrupting Joy.  Renee tells Joy how to run the show, and it actually makes sense.

Joy seems to have regained control and Drita and Ramona are able to discuss the fight without raising their voices…too much.  The next confrontation highlighted is between Drita and Karen.  Karen and Drita have different definitions of friendship, but they plan to respect their truce.  Joy is concerned that once people start gossiping on Staten Island, the truce will disappear.  Karen and Drita reveal that they have promised to go directly to the other to resolve any issues regarding the rumor mill.  Ramona says that she and Carla have a similar agreement, but it seems that Carla still likes to talk about her.  Joy was excited that she was able to keep the women calm for at least a few minutes.  We need more Big Ang and less bleeping.

It’s reunion time for the Mob Wives.  Oddly enough I feel as if the season flew by, but when I see footage of past episodes, I realize I’ve been watching this show for what seems like forever.  Joy Behar is hosting the debacle, and I’m curious to see if she can keep the crazy in line.

We revisit the season, with special attention paid to Junior Pagan’s betrayal and Renee Graziano’s breakdown.  Renee and her sister Jenn Graziano, who is a producer on the show, are asked about their thoughts on Junior.  Renee is actually very calm, and sadly she reveals that she miscarried before everything went down with Junior.  Her sister discusses why she continued to film Renee during her dark times, and Renee admits that she urged her sister to document it.  Joy reminds Renee that Junior was wearing a wire in his watch which explains his reaction to Renee gifting him with a new watch for his birthday.  Both Drita D’Avanzo and Jenn are confused as to why Junior would want to be on a television show when he was trying to be so sneaky.  Renee and Jenn reveal that neither have spoken to Junior, and Renee has heard that he was rejected from the witness protection program.
