Last week on Married to Medicine, a lot of feathers were ruffled when Quad Webb-Lunceford and Kari Wells repeatedly circled the cuckoo's nest verbally attacked one another. Taking the feud to the next level, Kari uninvited Quad from an upcoming party that she's throwing with Quad's BFF Mariah Huq. Needless to say, Mariah takes issue with Kari's sneaky move, and we get to see the fall out from that this week.
Tension runs thick while Mariah and Kari shop for wine for the party. The issue with Quad aside, Mariah slowly loses her patience with Kari, who she thinks is acting like a know-it-all wine snob. When Mariah dislikes one of the heavier wines, Kari jokes that Mariah only likes Château Le Douche from the Massengill Valley. Mariah fails to find the humor in Kari's wisecrack, adding, "She thinks I'm a fool!"
Mariah finally confronts Kari about uninviting Quad from the party when there's a mention of the party's guest list. Kari stands her ground; she doesn't want Quad's drama in her home. When Mariah asks Kari why she's so upset, Kari reminds her that Quad ridiculed and slandered her in front an entire group of doctors and doctor's wives. To the camera, Mariah admits, she feels as if Kari deserved what she got because she never gave Quad a chance. But, at the same time, Quad needs to reign in the over-the-top drama.
Last week, Kari, Toya, and Quad's drama ruined Mariah's birthday party. Now, Mariah hosts a Doctors on the Dock party, and she hopes that the other ladies are able to act like proper doctor's wives in the presence of their doctor husbands. The party starts well. Then, Quad shows up, and she proves that she doesn't have a refined bone in her body. Mariah's little pet is out of control.
Quad arrives late, which the other wives find to be tacky, and then she greets everyone but Toya. Quad says Toya can "catch fire and go to hell" and turns her attention to Kari. Acting innocent, Quad asks Kari if she or her husband were ever married to other people, and Kari admits that she met Duncan while he was still married to his first wife. DUN-DUN-DUUUUN!!!
Mariah, who thinks she was born to be on TV, clearly spends a lot of time watching reality TV and studying the mannerisms and catch phrases of other reality tv stars. If Tamar Braxton, Sheree Whitfield, Sheree Fletcher, Phaedra Parks, and Andrea Kelly (did I miss anyone?) got busy and made a baby, it'd be Mariah. It's Mariah's birthday, and she and her friends are going to have a fabbbbulous time because – you better check your email! – she's the queen bee. Mariah is married to emergency room physician Dr. Aydin Huq.
Kari (Holy puffy lips, Batman!) is the first one to arrive. Duh, says Mariah, because she's white. Kari is married to orthopedic surgeon Dr. Duncan Wells. "There are many different types of doctors," explains Kari. "But the most respected are the surgeons because they're playing with the big tools and they're bringing in the cash." Kari lets us know that her outward appearance doesn't come easy. It takes a lot of botox, collagen, and silicon work.
Bravo is inundating us with a whole host of outrageous new reality shows. As if Real Housewives wasn't enough to cause severe trauma and cardiac arrest, they've found even crazier, wilder famewhores to shove down our throats!
One of the new series hitting the network is Married To Medicine. Featuring four women who are married to prominent Atlanta doctors and two women who actually are prominent Atlanta doctors, the show promises to bring high drama to go along with high-incomes and advanced degrees. Cause I totally want my dermatologist purse-checking someone at an elite social event before strolling into the office to perform a peel.
