With reports that the ratings of her TLC show, Kate Plus 8, is taking a plunge, it seems Kate Gosselin is desperate to be in the headlines once again.
During her Friday appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly, Kate, 35, told the show hosts that there was still some tension between she and ex-husband Jon Gosselin, 32.
“It’s…you know,” she said. “I do try to keep it as peaceful as possible.” The level of tension “depends on the day.” But Kate did not end things there, as she went on to proclaim on national television that their eight kids hate spending time at Jon’s nearby apartment.
“I basically wait for the phone call from how many of them want to come home,” she said. Further adding that his apartment “is not [their] home; it doesn’t feel like home to them… they want to be at home — in their house.”
Jon didn’t take too well with Kate’s comments, as he posted the following response on his twitter page: “As much as I want to respond to numerous LIES recently claimed on ‘Regis and Kelly,’ I will refrain. I have learned from the past that it’s a waste of my time and energy. I am ‘rising above’, and refuse to engage in any sort of public argument that could potentially harm or upset my children. My children and the people in my life know the truth, and that is what’s important.”
Must say it’s a sad day in the Gosselin household when Jon appears to be the one taking the high road.
The 4th episode of the Real Housewives of DC aired last night, and boy oh boy, did it tell us a lot about the Salahis.
The episode titled The Grape Stomp of Wrath was a perfect foreshadow to what is to come later on this season. I was going to wait until next week to start doing the DC recaps but after watching last night’s episode, I say let’s get right to it!
The episode starts out with Lynda cooking a meal for her family. In the kitchen with her is her younger boytoy boyfriend Ebong Eka. Something about this union just robs me the wrong way. I can’t decide who’s using who. Ebong’s 35 and Lynda’s 52. Lynda also mentioned in a previous episode that she has no desire to get married again or have any more children. At 35, does Ebong have any kids? If not, does he not want any? Has he ever been married? If not, does he not plan on ever marrying?
Is he with her for the money? Is she with him for the arm candy? It just seems like an interesting relationship. A little search on Ebong shows he was raised in Canada, born to Nigerian parents. He is also a Certified Public Accountant with a taste for designer fashion. Nothing out of the norm. Perhaps I’m just reading too much into things, and these are just two adults in a healthy happy genuine relationship. Only time will tell.
Next, we see Stacie having a get together with her sorority sisters. Stacie, who is adopted, explains she has found her birth mother, who just happens to be Caucasian. Stacie also reveals her birth father is of Nigerian nationality, and does not know of her existence. And this scene is a perfect example of why the DC franchise has a bit more substance than the others. Race, politics, and other “controversial” topics don’t seem to be off limit.
Stacie shares that her birth mom wants to keep her a secret and is not willing to tell her who her birth father is. As Stacie tells her story, we see her sorors, who all look very camera ready and aware that this might be on national television, occasionally chime in.
It’s the opening day for Celebrity Hair Stylist Ted Gibson’s DC salon. Mary is very proud of the monumental day, as she is tired of people referring to DC as the “Hollywood for ugly people.” And in case the Ted Gibson name rings a bell, it’s because Ted also happens to be the hair stylist for Kate Gosselin. Michaele makes her entrance and declares her love for Ted, who thanks her for sponsoring the event. Mary however makes in clear in her voice over interview that she is the one responsible for Ted’s big day, and Michaele is only responsible for providing the store bought wine. Something about Mary is giving me Jill Zarin. Will touch more on that later.
As she’s getting her hair washed, Mary chats it up with Ted, and looks for reassurance that she’s still his #1 favorite girl in the whole entire world. The event starts and the other housewives excluding Stacie are in attendance. Cat makes her mandatory rude comments, and we see Lynda chatting it up with Michaele following their not so nice words of exchange in a previous episode. Lynda makes it clear she doesn’t like to hold grudges. “I don’t hold bad energy, it’s just not worth it to me,” says Lynda, who prefers to get her attorneys involved in joking matters.
“It seems like Tareq and Michaele have used their wine as a bit of a bartering system to get into places and to get to know important people,” says Mary, who seems to have a pretty good read on the Salahis. I always find it interesting how certain couples just manage to find one another. You ever know a slimy person, who just happened to marry another equally slimy individual? The Salahis are a good example of this. They just seem made for one another.
Just a day after E! Online broke the news of Bristol Palin joining the cast of Dancing With The Stars, Bristol’s baby daddy/2x former fiance/Playgirl model Levi Johnston is now adding his own 2 cents to the news.
Levi, 20, appeared on CBS’ “The Early Show” this morning and spoke about Bristol and his mayoral race. Yes, he’s planning to run for mayor in his hometown of Wasilla, Alaska.
See, Bristol, 19, has criticized Levi for being obsessed with fame in the past, even citing that as the reason she ended their second engagement. So upon hearing the news that Bristol will be a contestant on the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars,” Levi stated, “I don’t think I’m any more obsessed with making a career out of this than she is.”
He added, “Obviously she’s doing Dancing with the Stars. I wouldn’t say I’m obsessed with any of it. I’m just taking it as it comes.” Bristol has also previously appeared on an episode of ABC’s “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”
Popeater is also reporting today that a source close to Bristol tells them she “is excited and scared and hopes she gets Maksim Chmerkovskiy as her partner.”
In other DWTS related news, more names continue to leak out before the official Monday announcement from ABC. E! News is reporting today that Brady Bunch mom Florence Henderson, Singer Michael Bolton, former NBA Player Rick Fox, and Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey have all been added to the cast.
E! also confirms the following stars will not be a part of the upcoming season – Kirstie Alley, Landon Donovan, Troy Aikman, or anyone for the Bachelor(ette) franchise.

E! Online is breaking the news today and confirming that Bristol Palin, daughter of former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin, has joined the cast of DWTS.
E! adds that this will be the second time the 19-year-old has appeared on an ABC show, as she also guest starred last month on ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Also confirmed for the new season of DWTS are David Hasselhoff, Audrina Patridge, The Situation and Brandy.
Likely not appearing on this season are Kirstie Alley, and Bachelorette stars Ali & Roberto, “unless there are a few last-minute switcheroos,” says E!.
A rep for ABC had the following to say regarding the news: “We don’t comment on casting rumors. The real Dancing With the Stars cast will be revealed Monday, Aug. 30, live on ABC during Bachelor Pad.”

With less than a week until the season 11 cast of Dancing With The Stars is officially unveiled, the cast rumors continue to spread like wildfire.
So let’s break down who is in and who is out -
Confirmed – Multiple media outlets have confirmed the following “stars” have signed on do to the show. Jersey Shore’sThe Situation is a done deal according to Ok magazine and other media outlets.
Likely In – Not confirmed but likely in are retired NFL player Kurt Warner, BacheloretteAli Fedotowsky and her fiancé, Roberto Martinez, who according to E! Online and OK magazine, have yet to finalize their deal. Also heavily rumored to be in? Soccer player Landon Donovan and Michael Bolton.
Long Shots – There are also rumblings that the show wantsJon Gosselin, you know, following the media blitz his ex-wife Kate Gosselin brought to the show last season. Bravo Housewife Teresa Giudicealso seems to be a long shot, as there have been no reports about her joining the show since her tweets about doing the show in late July. Though we do think adding a Bravo housewife to the show would be genius, maybe just not Teresa.
Other long shots include David Hasselhoff, Lindsay Lohan, and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

UPDATE - UsWeekly is now reporting that David Hasselhoff has signed on for the 11th season of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. The mag also states Bachelorette Ali and her fiance Roberto are likely out.
A new report by TV Guide lists the earnings of television actors as well as some reality stars, but it’s the amount that Kate Gosselin reportedly earns from her TLC reality show that has people stunned.
According to TV Guide, the Kate Plus 8 mom earns an astonishing $250,000 per episode! Making her the highest paid reality star at the moment.

In other Kate news, in a new interview with Extra TV, the mom of eight reveals she is tired of being single and ready to find her soulmate.“I don’t want to be alone,” she says. “I think I’m just scared to mess things up again.”
Kate, 35, who is recently divorced from ex-husband Jon Gosselin, 33, admits she wants someone more in charge than her ex. “[We] are two completely different people,” she says. “I don’t want to be in charge anymore. I didn’t like it when I was.”
As for what she’s looking for in a partner this go around, Kate makes it clear she knows what she wants. “I think older, wiser, patient, kind. I don’t want to be in charge anymore. Somebody to take care of me and my kids of course.”
Seems to be a lot going on in the life of Kate Gosselin these days.
First comes confirmation from the TLC network that Kate will be appearing on former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s upcoming reality show, titled Sarah Palin’s Alaska. This is not surprising as the Kate Plus Eight mom was photographed visiting Alaska two weeks ago with her eight kids in tow.
“The Palins graciously shared their Alaska with the Gosselin family and that camping trip will be part of an upcoming episode,” TLC president and general manager Eileen O’Neill said.
The series, featuring the former Alaska Governor and various members of her family and an array of Alaskans all across the state, will premiere Sunday, Nov. 14 at 9 p.m. Kate will be appearing on the premiere episode. It is said that Sarah took Kate and her kids camping during their Alaska visit. No word yet on if Kate was able to see Russia during her time in Alaska.
In other Kate news, E! News broke the story yesterday that Kate will be attending the Emmy Awards on Aug. 29. E! reports Kate will appear at the start of the show in a comedic segment with host Jimmy Fallon as well as “some of today’s biggest and brightest television stars.”
While the new season of Dancing With The Stars doesn’t debut until September 20th, the casting rumors and speculations have already began.
Coming off its most popular season ever, it seems DWTS might be ready to take things up a notch with a Jersey cast invasion.
First TMZ confirmed yesterday that Jersey Shorebreakout star The Situation is in secret negotiations to star on the upcoming season. According to TMZ, nothing’s official yet but sources close to the MTV reality star state the deadline for negotiations is Monday, so we should know by then whether or not he will be appearing on the show.
Which brings us to Teresa Giudice, star of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. The 37-year-old Bravo reality star, who might or might not be channeling a modern day cave woman in the above photo, made some interesting tweets yesterday.

Those were the tweets made by Teresa on her twitter page. Oddly enough, no news outlet has confirmed that Teresa is indeed in talks to appear on the show.
However her appearance on the show is not far fetched considering she is one of the most popular Bravo housewives at the moment, albeit for all the wrong reasons, plus Kate Gosselin appeared on the show last season, leading to a noticeable increase in the show’s ratings. It would only make sense for ABC to want to cast someone similar to replace Kate, a reality star the public loves to hate aka Teresa Giudice. And while Teresa doesn’t have eight children, it can’t hurt that she has a plus 4.
And in case you’re wondering, the “stars” get paid to do the show, and Teresa would get a paycheck if she decided to do it. Kate Gosselin received a reported $500, 000 for her time on the show, though Teresa will likely not receive close to that amount. A DWTS rep also did not deny the casting rumors only telling Zap2it that casting is still ongoing in preparation for the new season.
When asked by a fan if she would be back for another season of RHONJ, Teresa replied: “Not sure. It’s not really fun filming with a felon… ” Interesting that Teresa and her hubby Joe are currently being accused of perjury.
And when it comes to Bethenny, and the claims that Teresa copied her by also having ‘Skinny’ in her book title, Teresa responded: “When “Skinny Italian” went to press, @Bethenny ‘s only book was called “Naturally Thin.” They’re both great books, but totally different…”
She then added, “PS- I love love LOVE @kimbarnouin & @Bethenny so no fake Twitter feuds… (even tho I’m sure B’s sad my book outsold hers in 1/2 the time).”
And those folks are the words of a woman who’s kids’ crib, beds, TVs, toys are about to be auctioned off in less than a month.
