As loyal as I am (and have always been) to Real Housewives of New Jersey, I cannot help wondering where the show goes from here. Season 6 (with those twins and Amber Marchese) was the worst ever. Then they took a break in filming Season 7 since there’s no way they could have done a season of this show while Teresa Giudicewas in prison. Teresa and her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga made up after years of feuding during that season and turned their one-liners against Jacqueline Laurita. Other than that, the season was just OK. I was expecting so much more after waiting forever and a half for it, but I obviously watched every single episode (many times over).
Jacqueline was out for Season 8 and we watched Siggy Flickerand Margaret Josephs go at it for most of the season. Conversely, Teresa experienced her first season where she was on good terms with every cast member- including her former enemy Danielle Staub. With Siggy off the show, we are only left with some second-rate tension between Dolores Catania and “Friends of the Housewives” Danielle to sustain us. Is this the beginning of the end?
There are two starkly different ways to view Kim DePaola’s role on Real Housewives of New Jersey: she is the gift that keeps on giving or the curse that keeps on cursing. Kim always swoops in with some drama whenever the season gets boring. Going up against Kim D, guarantees that the audience is on your side. As annoying as it has to be to fight against her, the Housewives who do, ultimately win. They get the support of the audience and some catchy insults to inspire memes.
Could you imagine if Kim was actually a more integral part of the season- instead of serving as the scapegoat for problems and the pot stirrer that livens up a dull season? What if Kim D was actually invited to one of the cast trips? They already storm out of every restaurant before the food even arrives. They wouldn’t be able to sit down at the table if Km was there.
Real Housewives of New Jersey is a rare show in the Real Housewives franchise because the side characters are just as vital as the actual Housewives. As the ladies have said Kim DePaola aka Kim D is a “cockroach” that just hasn’t gone away. She probably never will if she continues to get the newly zen Teresa Giudice so riled up every single time she is mentioned- let alone when she actually appears. It is prime TV- although a lot of people are getting sick of the chronically recycled stunt.
Then there are other side characters that make the show better in a positive way. One of those is Teresa’s third daughter, Milania Giudice. She always manages to steal the show, say what everyone is thinking, and bless us with the best meme material. Obviously Milania is just a child, but Teresa recently revealed that she weighed in on the feud with Kim D.
If that does actually happen, how will that affect the rest of the cast? Will Danielle Staub remain a “Friend of the Housewives” or return to full-time status? New Jersey has never had more than five official Housewives in the cast, so it would be interesting to see who takes priority if either of those OG returns. The one thing that seems pretty solid is that the people want Margaret Josephs to return no matter what.
Now that Danielle Staub is back on Real Housewives of New Jersey, it’s hard to not feel nostalgic for the good old days. The first two seasons of this show were nothing short of iconic. Sure, there have been some epic seasons since then (and some lackluster ones as well), but it’s hard not to miss the original cast.
Dina Manzo lives in California now so it makes no sense for her to be on the show, but there are some rumors swirling that Jacqueline Laurita and Caroline Manzo might return to Real Housewives of New Jersey next season. Now the only remaining OG cast member, Teresa Giudice, is sounding off on the rumors.
What do they think about Siggy Flicker leaving the show? Did Teresa actually get an apologize from Joe Giudice when she visited him in prison? Why did it take so long for Teresa to visit him? What is going on with their restaurant closing less than a year after it opened.
Your favorite Reality TV stars celebrated 2018 in style and documented their good times on social media, of course. They shared photos with their significant others, children, and friends on New Year’s Eve.
The most shocking post by far was from Vanderpump Rulesstar Lala Kent who finally posted a photo with her longtime boyfriend Randall Emmett, after over a year of speculation about their relationship. Then again, the news became officially official when that video leaked of them making out at a party, his divorce is actually finalized, and there’s really no reason to keep the romance under wraps at this point. It was just pretty surprising considering how private the two have been in the past.
It’s a family-filled time of year for all of your favorite reality stars who have been posting a lot of photos in between Christmas and the New Year. It seems like everyone went on a family vacation this week… just in time to share some great photos for this week’s Instagram Roundup.
