The Real Housewives of Atlanta’sKandi Burruss is not only a talented song writer but also your favorite Atlanta housewife, according to our “Reality Tea” poll.
For those of you that don’t know, Kandi is a Grammy award-winning songwriter who has written several hit songs for popular acts such as TLC and Nsync. Recently, she also helped rewrite and executive produced Kim Zolciak’s new hit – “Tardy For The Party.”
Kandi recently released her new single, “I Fly Above” on iTunes and Amazon. It seems like this is another hit song from our beloved Kandi.
Below is the video of the song, check it out!
Tell Us: You be the judge – Is “I Fly Above” another hit from Kandi?
Kim talks about how Kandi is dealing with her tragic week, her thoughts on AJ, the breakup with Big Poppa (Lee Najjar) as well as her new boyfriend. She also speaks briefly on Big Poppa’s wife, saying his wife knew about her.
Below are excerpts from Kim’s new interview -
ESSENCE.COM: How is Kandi doing? Have you spoken to her?
KIM ZOLCIAK: I spoke with her mom and texted her just to let her know I’m here. I was one of the first to find out and I called the other ladies. Everybody has been fantastic but it’s unfortunate that it takes a tragedy to bring us all together. We were able to put all our stuff on the back burner and come together for Kandi. It’s not something that I ever thought would happen, no matter how tragic the situation.
ESSENCE.COM: What was your interaction with A.J like?
ZOLCIAK: He actually called me last week and I never called him back, which sucks. I adored him. He was such a great guy. He was actually with Big Papa the night I got engaged. I hated that people have this bad impression of him because he had so many children. He was a great father and he was great with Riley [Kandi's 7-year-old daughter] and he loved Kandi.
ESSENCE.COM: And when is the wig line coming out?
ZOLCIAK: I’ve joined with a company called Pop Wigs who will manufacture and distribute the wigs. It’s a lot more work than I ever anticipated. I’m working on everything from trademarking to the packaging. I’m really proud of the wigs, so by December people will be able to do pre-orders and we can send them out by January.
“My daughter Brienna was really sick that night,” says Kim, also claiming Kandi was aware that she wouldn’t be able to make it to the concert.
“She’s understanding,” Kim said. “I wouldn’t miss something like that especially after all the work she did on ‘Tardy for the Party.’ I wouldn’t just not show up.”
Since the producers didn’t explain the reason for Kim’s absence, it gave viewers the impression that Kim intentionally skipped the event.
Kim is also upset about Lisa comments of her possibly having a disease referring to Kim’s “cancer” scare during the first season reunion. “Who talks like that?” she said. “That’s so low! She’s a mother and a wife. That’s not funny. It’s a little too much for me. It’s one thing to make fun of somebody and make it cut but to really insult them…”
Not sure if I’m buying Kim’s excuse and claim that Kandi knew she would not be showing up, considering Kandi seemed to be looking for her after the performance.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta’sKandi Burruss proves to us that miracles can happen as she turned fellow castmate, Kim Zolciak’s song into a dance hit. The Grammy award-winning songwriter who has written hit songs for popular acts such as TLC and Nsync helped write and produce Kim’s new hit – “Tardy For The Party.”
Despite earlier reports that came out this week claiming Kim’s song had been yanked off Itunes due to her non payment to producer Don Vitto, Kim has come out denying the entire story, and clarifying her song is still available on Itunes. A quick check on Itunes proves the song is still indeed available, leading us to believe the entire “lawsuit” saga was nothing but a big publicity stunt.
So the question of the moment is -
Tell Us: You be the judge – Is “Tardy for the party” a hit or miss? What are your thoughts on the past episode of the Atlanta Housewives? Is Nene’s Ego Out of Control?
Kim Zolciak of The Real Housewives of Atlanta has taken to her twitter page Thursday afternoon to announce that she and her sugardaddy married boyfriend are no longer together.
The photo on the right is of Big Poppa aka Lee Najjarand his wife, who is ironically also named Kim, and strangely enough looks a lot like Kim Zolciak. Lee is an extremely wealthy real estate developer in Atlanta.
This news is interesting considering the fact that Kim confirmed she and Big Poppa were still together just a week ago during her appearance of Bravo’s “Watch What Happens.” She even went as far as to reveal that she and Big Poppa had been intimate a week earlier.
The habitual liar Atlanta housewife wrote on her twitter page — “There is NO more Big Poppa and Kim FYI. The show was filmed months ago things have changed..So happy.” She has however spent the past few months sporting an “engagement” ring she claimed was a gift from Big Poppa. Not exactly sure how one can be engaged to a still married man, but evidently anything goes in Kim’s world.
Below is a photo of Kim and Big Poppa taken while the duo vacationed –
It’s deja vu all over again as the Real Housewives of Atlanta’sKim Zolciak and her publicist/manager Jonathan Jaxsonare once again at odds, and Jonathan has once again decided to publicly bash his former client. It’s becoming more obvious these two have a“Love/Hate relationship.”
Jonathan went on Atlanta’s airwaves to air his grievances with the Bravo reality show star. On the air, he announced his resignation as Kim’s manager and publicist because “she’s a habitual liar.” According to Jonathan, Kim lied about her past as a stripper.
Jonathan previously dished on Kim back in July, when he revealed sordid details about her stripper past and dealings with the still legally married ‘Big Poppa.’
He claims that Kim spent about 3 months “making a lot of money” as a stripper at Atlanta’s top gentleman’s establishment, The Cheetah Club. And her stage name was “Barbi.”
“She didn’t do it for long, but was very popular among the crowd,” he continues.
Kim’s reps have denied such claims but admit that she worked “as a cocktail waitress.” Kim claims she knows the leak of this false story and is denying it: “I’ve never stripped,” she said. “[My former rep] is a loose cannon spreading lies. I am not affiliated with him whatsoever.”
NeNe Leakes on the other hand, proudly admitted that she danced for money to earn a living for her and her children.
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak should have taken her own advice, as she is now being sued for being tardy on a payment by music producer, Don Vito.
“Tardy for the Party,” the first single from Kim’s upcoming album, has been removed from iTunes on Monday afternoon because she allegedly has yet to pay the song’s producer for the time she spent in the studio.
“The song was number three on iTunes’ dance chart for the last four days, but since Don Vito owns the copyright to the song and he hasn’t been paid, he requested that the song be taken down off iTunes,” a source told E! News.
Kim’s manager and publicist Jonathan Jaxsonhad no official comment while Don Vito had only nice things to say about the tardy for the payment singer.
“I think [Kim] is a good person and it was fun working in the studio with her,” he said. “We made a great record and I look forward to working with her on the album again.”
One can only wonder is this whole “lawsuit” is nothing other than a big publicity stunt to promote her single. Surely Big Poppa akaLee Najjarcould have foot the bill for this.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Nene talks about her goal to have a talk show, her relationship with the ladies of Atlanta housewives and what she thinks about the song “Tardy for the Party.”
Below are excerpts from the interview-
What’s your relationship with Kim and Sheree like these days?
We’re just associates. I feel we have a business relationship. However, Sheree and I have known each other the longest and we’ve found a way to respect one another. And Kim and I just haven’t found that yet. And if Kim and I weren’t on the show together, we probably would never talk. But we’re on the show, so we have to talk and we have to be cordial, so we’re cordial. But I’m not friends with any of these girls. They’re my associates, and I don’t think that the word “associate” is a bad word. Some people don’t even get to be my associate, so they’re in a very good position.
So you’re not friends with anyone in the cast?
Down the road with some time, Lisa and I could possibly be friends. I don’t really know Kandi at all but I won’t close the door on that. I’m just saying I don’t know her because she’s new to the show. We didn’t get a chance to really get to know each other. She came into our relationship. I feel like I’m the HBIC [head b-- in charge] if you know what that is.
