Following weeks of speculation, ABC officially announced the 12 latest “stars” who will be vying for the mirror ball trophy. While reports stated the network was working hard this season to get A-list celebs, it appears they fell rather short of that goal. The biggest name on the list is arguably actor David Arquette.
Other big names include this season’s Kate GosselinNancy Grace, Cher’s transgendered son Chaz Bono, Ricki Lake, and soccer player Hope Solo.
The biggest surprise might be the addition of fashion guru Carson Kressley, who is mostly known for his role on Bravo’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. The casting of Carson is quickly fueling speculation that DWTS might have its first same sex couple this season!
And unfortunately for Housewives fans, RHOBH star Kim Richards did not make the cut. It was reported days ago that Kim was on the short list to get added to the cast. Kim tweeted late yesterday, “Sadly I’m not on #DWTS this season! That would have been so fun, good luck to everyone on it! It will be an amazing journey:) goodnight all!”
The complete list of “stars” below:
David Arquette, actor Ron Artest, NBA player Chaz Bono, LGBT activist (son of Sonny Bono and Cher) Elisabetta Canalis, former girlfriend of George Clooney Kristin Cavallari, reality TV star Nancy Grace, TV talk-show host Rob Kardashian, reality TV star Carson Kressley, reality TV star Ricki Lake, actress J.R. Martinez, war veteran and actor Chynna Phillips, singer Hope Solo, soccer player
The new season premieres September 19 on ABC at 8/7c.
TELL US – THOUGHTS ON THE CAST? EXCITED OR DISAPPOINTED? WHO ARE YOU MOST EXCITED TO SEE?
Perez Hilton confirms Kirstin, who recently made headlines after being dumped by her NFL fiance Jay Cutler, will join the likes of Rob Kardashian and other rumored “stars” such as Chynna Phillips and Tiffani Thiessen on the upcoming season.
Kristin follows in the dance steps of fellow ‘The Hills’ alum Audrina Patridge, who appeared on an earlier season of the ABC hit show.
Meanwhile, days after TMZ reported Snookiand Queen Latifah had signed on for the show, Snooki aka Nicole Polizzi is now denying the story a la Queen Latifah’s earlier denial. Snooki tweeted Tuesday, “I love watching Dancing with the Stars but I am not apart of the cast ! Sorry Tweedos.”
A new report by the HollywoodLife however states this might be a negotiation ploy by the Snooks. Apparently she is still in talks to do the show but is holding out for more money.
“They are still trying to make the deal with Snooki,” dishes a source. “She was verbally in, but has yet to sign anything. She has been very concerned with the schedule and what she will be paid.”
ABC is reportedly in a rush to finalize the cast as soon as possible as the cast is being announced Aug. 29 during the Bachelor Pad. “The producers are confident that she will still join the show, but if she continues to hold out, they have people that will fill her spot. They always overcast the show,” adds the insider.

TELL US – YOU EXCITED TO WATCH KRISTIN ON DANCING WITH THE STARS?
The Hillsalum Kristin Cavallarifinally comes clean on what we all suspected, which is that the MTV hit show was indeed very scripted.
In a bombshell interview with Fancast, Kristin, 24, not only admits that the Hills was fake, but she also sheds some light on how the producers of the show manipulated the cast and story lines. Kristin even admits that the producers’ manipulations started during her high school Laguna Beach days. She also gives her honest opinion on Lauren Conrad’saxed reality show.
Now that it’s over, can you reveal how much of the final season of “The Hills” was scripted?
Almost all of it. I think I can say that by now. I guess no one can get mad at me anymore.
You were not always portrayed in the most positive light on “The Hills.” You were supposedly partying too hard and using drugs. Are you concerned that damaged your reputation?
They told me they weren’t going to do any of that stuff. Basically, all that was to get ratings. I was on the cover of UsWeekly saying I need to go to rehab and that my parents wanted me to go to rehab. Both of my parents were like, “Oh, really? Why don’t they call me.” It said that I wasn’t showering. It was so unbelievable. It came and went because obviously I didn’t have a problem whatsoever. But that really pissed me off because MTV did that and there was one producer in particular who was behind all that. So that was really, really hard actually. That was one of the hardest things I ever had to go through. I’m so over it by now. But everything else, I was a willing participant. I didn’t hang out with those people. I had all my friends that were never filmed. It was work three days a week. We’d go to work, do three scenes a day, change, do another scene, and then you leave and you have your other life, your private life.
What do you think about Lauren Conrad’s new reality show being shelved for being too high brow or dull for MTV?
I didn’t know that was the reason why. I think right now MTV has “Jersey Shore” and “Skins” which are very controversial. Lauren’s a very nice girl. She’s very sweet, but that’s not always entertaining.
It seems like almost everyone who was on “Laguna Beach” had the course of their life altered. You, L.C. and Lo are reality stars. Some others have unfortunately struggled with substance abuse problems. Do you think it was, on the whole, worth it for all you to grow up in front of America?
I don’t regret anything I’ve done. It’s been hard. I was fifteen years old when “Laguna Beach” came in. I think it was really unfair how they messed with our lives like that. We were so young. We didn’t know exactly what they were doing. Watching the show really broke my heart. [When] the first episode of “Laguna Beach” [aired], I locked myself in the bathroom and was crying for hours because I was so upset about how they were portraying me. But that’s why going into “The Hills,” I knew exactly what I was getting into. I wasn’t going to let them mess with me. That’s why I went into it saying, “Whatever you guys want me to do, I’ll do. Don’t mess with me. I’ll be a participant.” They’re very shady with you. And that’s what they did when we were doing “Laguna Beach” and we were so young to be doing that. So it’s just how my life has gone. It’s the path that I’ve chosen. It’s all been worth it.
Can you give me an example of the producers being shady?
The first season of “The Hills” they had Justin and I dating on the show. Justin wouldn’t want to come film sometimes because he didn’t think that I really liked him. So the producers would have me text him, “No Justin, I really want you to come.” But I was game for it. Stephen [Coletti] was my boyfriend on “Laguna Beach.” They would be, like [to him], “We just want to get you coming up to Lauren’s house, but we’re not going to make it seem like you guys are dating.” They’d have him bring her flowers. All that stuff.
And today, Kristin is currently guest starring on ABC’s hit comedy “The Middle” (Wednesday, 8/7c) and also venturing into producing reality shows.
TELL US – THOUGHTS ON KRISTIN’S INTERVIEW? SHOULD THE PRODUCERS BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR SCRIPTING/FAKING REALITY SHOWS & LYING TO THE PUBLIC?

The douchebag nutjob famewhore known as Spencer Pratt decided to don a ridiculous old man disguise and try to crash the Hills‘ finale afterparty that he and his wife Heidi Montag were not invited to on Tuesday night.
UsWeekly reports Spencer stood outside the Roosevelt hotel (where the afterparty was taped) surrounded by the show’s puzzled fans. Spencer, alongside Emilio Masella, ex-boyfriend of Jersey Shore‘s Snooki –whom he’s developing a dating reality show for– were eventually escorted from the hotel property by Security police.
“I wasn’t invited to that party, so I’m having my own party with the people on the Hollywood Walk of Stars!” Spencer 26, later told Perez Hilton. He added: “I spend a lot of time being hated and I feel like I want a little closure.”
The Roosevelt hotel insiders also tell UsMagazine that Spencer tried to buy drinks for the entire bar at the hotel that afternoon — but his card was declined. And 50 seconds remain…
In other Hills news, the show is receiving a ton of criticism over it’s final scene in the finale episode. The finale scene had Kristin Cavallari say a tearful goodbye toBrody Jenner, before it’s revealed that it was all shot on the back lot of a studio, implying that the show is indeed fake and scripted. As the camera pans away, the set comes down and Kristin jumps out of the car and rushes to hug Brody.
The hollywood ending now has some fans wondering if any part of the show was even real. Photos of the cast from the finale party below.
TELL US: WERE YOU UPSET AT THE HILL’S ENDING? DO YOU THINK THE ENTIRE SHOW WAS FAKE OR JUST PARTS OF IT?
The show that started back in 2006 as a spin-off of Laguna Beach is finally coming to an end tonight. A quick look at the above cast photo of the current cast tells you all you need to know about the changes the show has endured since it premiered 4 years ago.
Another look at the above cast is also a great indication of why most fans of the show are more than ready for it to be finally over. Quite frankly, the Hills today is simply not the show we all fell in love with several years ago. From Heidi Montag’s atrocious cartoonish phsycial change to numerous reports of the entire show being fake and the cast actually being given scripts, it becomes more apparent as to why the show’s ratings have taken a tremendous dip in the last few seasons.
The departure of the show’s star Lauren Conrad, who has since written a best seller, and addition of the proclaimed “bitch” Kristin Cavallari, who made headlines this year for allegedly being a coke-head, definitely failed to help matters or resurrect the ailing show. And there’s no need to even touch on the additions of the random siblings, aka Stephanie Pratt and Holly Montag.
Not appearing in tonight’s finale or after-show are Spencer Pratt and wife Heidi. At first the two’s famewhoring shenanigans were obnoxious but somewhat entertaining to watch. Things however took an extreme turn for the darker side when Heidi came out this year with a new face, new boobs, new ears, new butt, new stomach, and new thighs. Just like that, the Heidi/Spencer union stopped being funny. The world suddenly realized just how troubled these two really were.
But the worst had yet to come. Reports then came out that Spencer was kicked off the show for 6 weeks after threatening to kill a female producer on the show. Spencer’s hiatus from the show however became permanent when he and his wife falsely accused the show’s creator, Adam Divello, of sexually harassing Heidi.
Returning tonight are the show’s alums, Lauren and Whitney Port. Lauren jumped ship last year, while Whitney left the show 2 years ago to star on The City. The two will be appearing on the Hill’s after show. The Hills series finale airs tonight at 10:00pm Eastern.
Above is the season 1 cast photo of the show back when it was real as well as a before and after of Heidi, kind of puts things into perspective uh?
Moving right along. In true famewhore fashion, there are now reports that Spencer Pratt is planning to crash the Hills’ after show party tonight. PEOPLE magazine reports the 26-year-old reality-douche tweeted on Tuesday: “Booking my room @Roosevelt Hotel Hollywood now that I have no place to live I think i should just move in there today (to) stay near the action.”
It just so happens that the Hollywood Roosevelt is the location of tonight’s finale party for the show. Spencer and his “estranged” wife Heidi are however not on the guest list. Guess it’s a chance you take as a famewhore when you decide to falsely accuse the hands that feed you of sexual harassment. The chances of Spencer making it into the party tonight is likely a big zero.
The end of The Hills is near, as MTV has announced the final season of their hit show will premiere April 27.
And if you expected the show to nicely fade into the sunset, you are mistaken, as the season’s trailer shows it will be going out with a bang! We can expect the cast confronting Kristin Cavallari on her alleged drug use. Heidi also uses the D word when talking about her marriage with Spencer, divorce that is, though the couple now claims all is well in their marriage. Evidently the show’s script must have called for marital problems.
Moving on, we see some flirtation between the newly single Brody Jenner and his ex Kristin. Audrina Patridge is happily in a relationship with musician Ryan Cabrera. And finally, we will see the widely talked about reunion between new faced Heidi and her mother: “I just can’t do this anymore,” said Heidi, who then attempted to cry, while looking to be in pain. This was taped not too long after her 10 surgery procedures.
In other news, Heidi Montag has been acting like a diva on the set of the Hills according to Heidi herself and her fellow castmates. It all started when Heidi showed up to a photo shoot with 6 bodyguards, and then “refused to take part in a group shot, even though she had agreed to it beforehand.” MTV will reportedly photoshop her into the group shot later on.
When asked about the diva behavior? “I’m a movie star now!” exclaimed Heidi, who just finished filming a very small cameo role on Just Go With It, which stars Jennifer Aniston. Heidi then proceeded to post a photo of her with six bodyguards on her facebook page. That photo is below.
Spencer Pratt, 26, chimed in, telling UsWeekly, “It’s all true. She was sick and she didn’t even want to go to that photo shoot!” He continues, “She always travels with a security team.”

It seems MTV has run out of scripts as they are now announcing the upcoming season of The Hills will be the last.
The new and seventh season of the MTV reality show will debut April 27 with the airing of 12 episodes. “I think we’ve told the story of struggle and of finding yourself in L.A.,” creator Adam DiVello told Entertainment Weekly of the show.
Once upon a time, the Hills was MTV’s highest rated show, but has taken a recent hit in the past 2 years with low ratings. This past season brought a big decrease in ratings for MTV compared to the success and high ratings of their new hit – The Jersey Shore, which is currently filming its second season in Miami.
So what can we expect from the final season? It will kick off with Heidi Montag heading to Colorado to visit her parents, who see the results of her 10 plastic surgeries for the first time.
We can also expect to seeAudrina Patridge dating singer Ryan Cabrera, and Kristin Cavallaridealing with rumors of drug abuse. “When Kristin was in Miami for the Super Bowl, there was definitely some late nights for her and some speculation that she might be partying a little too hard,” explains executive producer Liz Gateley. “So we’re definitely going to cover that part of Kristin. We’re pretty much covering everything you’ve read [about in the tabloids].” Also look for Stephanie Pratt to be dealing with sobriety, coming off her DUI last year.
When asked if the show’s biggest star, Lauren Conrad, would be returning to end this season, the show’s creator played coy, however promising a satisfying conclusion.
And unfortunately, despite the reports that Spencer Pratt was kicked off the show for 6 weeks for threatening a female producer, we can still expect to see him in most of the episodes, threatens promises DiVello.
