The divide gets a little bit bigger this week on The Real Housewives of Dallas. There’s some crazy talk, but also a moment that looked to be out of Mean Girls: The Adult Years. One house husband won’t miss an opportunity to be on camera, and everyone can’t stop talking about LeeAnne Locken’s plastic surgeondoctorOBYGN cosmetic surgeon. Here we go –
Cary Deuber is alarmed because she’s only having sex with Mark once a day. They’re remodeling the practice and it’s all being put on Cary’s shoulders. She asks if it is okay if she runs to yoga and Mark suggests she keeps working. She wants to pick up her daughter after yoga and he ultimately allows her to “bail” on him again but not without making comments – so many comments. Cary is tired of battling Mark when it comes to giving attention to her daughter. This man needs to be brought down a peg or two, or three or four.
The status of LeeAnne Locken and Brandi Redmond’s friendship is so confusing. Are they friends? Enemies? Frienemies? A work in progress? It’s just tough to decipher. One second they’re hugging it out and the next they are shading each other on social media. Nevertheless, it was still surprising to see them hugging it out during that “Honest Tea” gathering during the last episode of Real Housewives of Dallas.
Of course that was filmed months ago and their relationship has probably had a ton of ups and downs since then. So it’s pretty interesting to see what LeeAnne has to say now that she’s watched the episode.
It’s obvious that Kameron Westcottis provoking Brandi Redmond for the sake of a story line on Real Housewives of Dallas. Was it rude of Brandi to give gifts and invites for a girls trip in front of Kameron without including her? Absolutely. Did it make sense for Brandi to invite Kameron to visit her estranged grandmother in Memphis? No, not at all. Brandi excluding Kameron from the trip made a lot of sense, but she did not have the best social tact in that situation.
In between pretentiously asking her children to speak Spanish, Kameron has made it clear that she prides herself on her etiquette. That’s why it was surprising when she was so rude to Brandi when she asked to pull her aside to apologize and make up for the pink gift bag debacle. Then again, this is a reality show and it made for a more interesting story line. Did it help Kameron gain any fans? Probably not too many, but it just wasn’t the best look for someone who continually talks about manners.
This episode of The Real Housewives of Dallas had everything, a proposal, women (and men) behaving badly and of course, a charity event. Perhaps what’s most refreshing about Dallas is that all the women play ball. This episode could potentially go down as a defining moment in this show’s run. It channeled “The Dinner Party from Hell” on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and even rivaled some moments from some of The Real Housewives of New YorkCity trips to remember. No one held back when they sat down for tea for what seemed like nine and one-half hours. Here we go…
The show opens with a charity event. It’s the Essential Energy Fall Reception and guess who’s the keynote speaker? LeeAnne Locken, naturally. D’Andra Simmons and Kameron Westcottcome to show their support. LeeAnne’s speech covers overcoming obstacles and the need to belong. Each week we learn a little more about D’Andra. This week, through her correlation to LeeAnne’s story, we hear that she too suffered from abandonment issues coming from a broken home. Mama Dee left her father and it destroyed his life. On a positive note, we’re treated to a fantastic vintage picture with Dee having the biggest hairdo in Texas.
After the last episode, that doesn’t seem to be the case with Cary going on a girls trip with Stephanie and Brandi Redmond. Now it seems like the cast is really split in half. Plus Cary, Brandi, Stephanie went on Watch What Happens Live right after the last episode aired, establishing themselves as one of two trios in the Dallas cast.
At this point Real Housewives of Dallas is essentially The LeeAnne Locken Show. It seems like everyone is either talking about LeeAnne or waiting for an excuse to bring her up again. This season got off to an interesting start when Brandi Redmondwent from being attached at the hip with Stephanie Hollman during Season 1 to ignoring her for her new friend LeeAnne.
Brandi’s friendship with LeeAnne came to an end as soon as she and Stephanie made up. Brandi put the nail in the coffin of that relationship when she decided to invite Steph and Cary Deuber to a girls trip to Memphis and did not include LeeAnne. Even though LeeAnne wasn’t invited, she was definitely a hot topic of conversation.
Since Season 2 of Real Housewives of Dallas was filmed months ago, there is a lot of back story missing when it comes to the social media activity between the cast members. Clearly there is a lot of tension there, but the viewers are just behind because the conflicts haven’t aired on TV yet.
If you follow D’Andra Simmons or Brandi Redmondon Twitter, it is very clear that they are not best friends, but as far as the show goes, there’s nothing to indicate why… yet.
