Love & Hip Hop Wedding

On Monday, Mendeecees Harris and Yandy Smith were married during a special (and very courageous) live episode of Love & Hip Hop.

The wedding guests included Love & Hip Hop’s Rich Dollaz and Tara Wallace, Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker, Black Ink Crew’s Ceaser Emanuel and Dutchess, Mob Wives stars Karen Gravano and Renee Graziano, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta stars Joseline Hernandez and Stevie J, and more. Check out pictures from the wedding below.

Love & Hip Hop: The Wedding

As you all know Memorial Day is a time of remembrance and gratitude for those who lost their lives serving our country. It is also the day that VH1 upped the stakes by hosting not just a reality wedding, but a live one at that! That’s right, folks! Yandy Smith and Mendeecees Harris of Love & Hip Hop fame tied the know last night in a live two-hour special.

Nina Parker and Stevie J. are hosting the festivities for the live wedding extravaganza. The guest list runs the gamut from legitimate reality star powerhouses and music moguls (Kandi Burruss being both) to the cast of Mob Wives. Karen Gravano is mildly flirting with Big Tigger who is emceeing the cocktail hour before the ceremony. The venue is complete with a red carpet for Joseline Hernandez and Rasheeda Frost, a coiffed and made-up Yandy joins Nina in an oversize robe to share the exasperating dress debacle and wrong shoe size shenanigans that have been plaguing the bridesmaids for the past twenty-four hours. So much for Yandy getting some R&R the night before her big day!

Love & Hip Hop

Oh, Married to Medicine, I mean Medicine (thanks so much to the commenter who always makes me laugh by giving him that moniker!), I guess you’ve learned that it’s always best to tell the truth…even if the truth could cost you millions of dollars and potentially years away from the free world. And we all agreed that this past season of Love & Hip Hop was boring–what were we thinking?

Mendeecees Harris, one of the stars of VH1’s original L&HH franchise, has finally faced the music…and not of the hip hop variety. On Tuesday, Yandy Smith’s fiance pleaded guilty to the drug charges that have plagued him of late and sent him to prison for a good portion of the past season.

LHH Reunion Jhonni fight

We’ve finally made it to the other side, y’all! Last night was the final installment of the Love & Hip reunion, and if you didn’t think it could get messier than it already was, you were sorely mistaken! Picking up where we left off last week, Nina Parker chides Rich Dollaz about not copping to what happened with Cisco’s ex Diamond Strawberry in the bathroom. As you recall from earlier in the season, Rich was intrigued by Diamond’s brand of crazy, but he promised Cisco he wouldn’t break bro code by going after his leftovers. Nina reminds Rich that the pair forgot to turn off their mics, and she then shares some previously un-aired audio from the encounter…which is pretty raunchy. Rich insists that nothing happened, and Diamond seems embarrassed. Diamond’s mother blames Cisco for making Diamond so vulnerable to be susceptible to Rich’s advances, although she does think her daughter made some bad decisions.

Diamond asserts that her fling with Rich wasn’t rooted in revenge. She was in a fragile state, and she had strong feelings for Rich. Her stalker ways are recapped, which, of course, feeds into Jhonni’s jealous rages. Cisco questions Rich’s intentions, and he can’t believe that his friend would act so shady. Rich does what Rich does, and Jhonni gets angry that Cisco refuses to go off on his friend. Can’t he punch Rich or something? Cisco gives a rousing speech about not becoming the next Stevie J and Benzino. If they’re going to scrap, it will be in private and when finished and they’ll party together like rock stars. He high fives Peter Gunz while representing the original L&HH as Rich laughs in agreement. Who are these people? When asked whether Jhonni posed a threat to her, Diamond quips that she didn’t even know who Jhonni was and assumed she was an extra. Jhonni retorts, “Your daughter is an extra,” which riles up Grandma Strawberry. It takes about fifteen men in suits to pull Jhonni from the stage. Diamond’s mother wishes they’d let her go so she could learn a lesson. Lady, have you watched this season? Jhonni would put a hurting on the elder Strawberry for sure!

Last night was the first part of the Love & Hip Hop reunion, and Mona Scott Young has given up her throne in favor of Nina Parker. Here’s hoping she’s able to bring out the dirt without inciting anyone to physically injure any of their co-stars. I’m not counting on it! Per the usual, it’s a lot of fake hair and dresses for which I would have given my right arm to wear to my junior prom back in the mid-90’s. There have been so many random characters who have appeared this season for no reason, the VH1 crew was probably hard-pressed to find a sofa that fit them all

Luckily, they are one person short, as Erica Mena has decided to forego the festivities. Ahhh, it seems Mona has scored the sit-down with the original franchise’s most volatile cast mate who claims she’s ready to start a new chapter in her life. Erica doesn’t want to risk a setback to her positive life changes, so she’s refusing to take part in the reunion. However, she’s happy to dress as if she’s ready to cut a bitch while wearing a cleavage-friendly sequined semi-formal. Erica believes she’s being very generous by letting CynRich Dollazand Chrissy Monroe have their time without her interrupting. After all, she is their story line. They can make up stories while she continues to prosper. Erica’s volatile relationship with Cyn is showcased, and there are some scenes I would have thought were from last season they took place so long ago. That’s a may be a sign the season played out a little longer than necessary.

I can’t say I’m surprised to hear that Erica Mena is calling it quits on a little scripted train wreck I like to call Love & Hip Hop. The controversial star spent more time over the past few seasons starting fights, slaying the viewers with ridiculous one-liners, and trying to decide if the lady pond was the best place to swim. However, on the most recent installment, Erica wasn’t starting club brawls…if she was even featured, she was chatting with her son, giving reasonable advice (what?) to her co-stars, and gushing about her upcoming wedding to Lil’ Bow Wow

Of course, most of the time Erica was just absent. The once wild-eyed, sharp-tongued crazed instigator took a backseat on the show where she was once the focus. If she was filmed, Erica was calm, cool, and collected. I felt like I wasn’t even watching L&HH in terms of Erica’s contribution, but thankfully Rich Dollaz brought me back to reality (the fabricated kind) every week.

I’m basically just watching the Love & Hip Hop finale to see which scorned lady Rich Dollaz is going to fight with next…should he get his own show for this purpose? Last night’s episode begins as Jhonni is pouring her heart out in the studio. At least Rich is good for some new material! Without Rich as a manager or a lover, she’s determined to let her music tell her story. Diamond Strawberry is also frustrated with Rich on top of all her Cisco drama, and she’s meeting with her father Darryl Strawberry to fill him in on her time in New York. She forgot to mention to him that she moved to the Big Apple in pursuit of a man and not her modeling career. Diamond regales her former baseball playing dad about the broken promises on which Cisco lured her to New York. He thinks it is high time for Diamond to start taking responsibility for her actions and her bad decisions. Darryl hopes this will be a life lesson for his daughter. His suit-shirt combo makes me dizzy.

Tara Wallace is excited that her etiquette business for wayward hip hop artists is taking off, and she’s calling in a favor from ex Peter Gunz. She’s hoping he’ll work with some of her artists. The pair catch up civilly (for once), and Peter thinks that this could be a step in the right direction for the pair. She warns him to be kind to Amina Buddafly. While it isn’t easy for her to listen to him wax poetic about his imploding marriage, she wants him to make better choices and stop hurting the people he claims to love…even if it is the woman she feels stole him from his family.

We’re drawing to the end of this season of Love & Hip Hop….after all, these folks need some time to recuperate from all their brawling and baby drama! Peter Gunz was back last night after a one episode hiatus (admit it, you missed him!), and he’s decided he’s definitely, one-hundred percent kind of maybe a little head over heels in love with Tara Wallace, um I mean Amina Buddafly. Does it really matter at this point. Peter really only seems to care for these ladies when they decide they’ve had enough of him. He’s decided to prove his feelings with a long overdue wedding ring for his once secret wife, and he’s enlisted bling expert Erica Mena to help him pick out the perfect bauble. Erica questions whether the ring is going to make everything better…shouldn’t he just try being loyal to one woman?

Rich Dollaz has decided to put all of his crazy lady drama on the back burner to do some shopping with pal Cisco. He relives his recent altercation with Jhonni, bragging that he knows when to leave before the chicks really lose it due to their extreme love for him. Cisco is glowing thanks to a new crush on Cyn. Rich reminds his friend about how they have been in beast mode in every major hip hop city–is Cisco ready to slow his roll? Cisco is ready to settle down, and he doesn’t want to let a good one get away. Rich is wary. Does his friend know how hard monogamy is? Cyn is also confused about the situation with Cisco, so she’s meeting Chrissy Monroe at the hair salon. Chrissy is sporting her finest Swiss Miss braids, and she’s clearly not getting her fake hair done at this place. Cyn is proud of the fact that her song is raising so much money for suicide awareness on the Internet, and both ladies think it was a tad creepy and inappropriate for her producer to express his love at that event. Plus, Cyn is starting things back up with her high school flame, so she needs to nip things in the bud with Cisco. Chrissy reveals that she’s finally met Chink’s father, but she’s concerned that Chink may still be cohabitating with his current wife when he’s not with her. She’s decided to surprise him with an apartment for the two of them, and we all know how much Chink loves Chrissy’s surprises!
